Security in the evening (although we never felt unsafe) was still reassuring. Staff maintained gardens and pool everyday. Small hut on site provided fresh smoothies, yogurt bowls, coffees - thank you Matty! Housekeeping staff were friendly and accommodating- you decide how often and what you need. Alejandro on front reception was fantastic. Excellent communication before and during our visit! Thank you Alejandro! Close to beach, great restaurants and shops in North Nosara. Central Nosara was walkable via beach (approximately 10-15 minute walk). Small suggestions are; provide few more updated kitchen items such as; working can opener, another sharp knife. Stove was dated but did work.

• Kelly (10/5): Beautiful Bohemian Hotel right in the middle of Nosara and walking distance to the beach. - The rooms were so clean and pretty. Everything had a fresh and bright feeling to it. The rooms were also very comfortable. We were surprised to find out that our room for 4 was actually two rooms joined by a bathroom. We also had our own patio which was very comfortable. The common spaces were very nice and the pool was such an idyllic jungle pool. There was a coffee maker with coffee pods in the common area and the juice bar also gave us coffees that were free for guests. Alejandro was very helpful and kind. We were in the cutest part of Nosara with restaurants right outside our hotel and walking distance to the beach. It was the most expensive place we stayed in Costa Rica. It was beautiful but Nosara is very expensive.

Outdoor space had a very nice feel. Overall a really great experience. Pricey but felt like a nice splurge at the end of our trip.

• Angelo (8/5): Pleasant experience, would definitely recommend - Location was ideal, don’t really need a car for anything since you’re close to the beach where you can surf and a lot of restaurants and shops at a walking distance. Property is very pretty with lots of space to chill. The rooms were clean and adequately equipped with a mini fridge, enough towels and shampoo. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Also, they offer 3 free coffees a day which is really nice. Rooms were a little bit outdated and smelled slightly from the humidity.

• yp (7/5): - Central location, the hotel looks very nice, large rooms. When he was a staff member at the reception, he was very nice. The internet is very weak, inquiries to the hotel after booking were not answered starting at 4:30 PM. There is only a security guard at the hotel. The bed creaked and was not comfortable at all.

• Sasha (10/5): Welcoming and nature filled comfy hotel - Quiet and beautiful space with warm welcoming staff. Alejandro was amazing! Bed was comfy and everything was clean with good AC. It’s one of the older hotels compared to some of the new developments, but I really like that, and how the rooms have space between them (mostly sets of 2 rooms scattered on the property rather than 1 big block) and the grounds are generous. You can hear the monkeys in the trees above! Great location walking distance to the beach and all the restaurants. I extended my stay and even came back here on the same trip, even though at the time of year I came, rainy season, there were plenty of options. This one felt like home!

WiFi was a little spotty most of our stay which wasn’t a huge issue. Amenities like bikes, rain umbrellas, and beach umbrellas were available for free. Since this hotel is on the “main drag,” it could be a bit noisy at times.

Está al lado de la zona de restaurantes y bares y a 2 min de la playa. la piscina estaba un poco mal cuidada. El gres roto. Y creo que sería bueno que incluyeran un desayuno, la oferta de la cantina que tienen es buena pero cara.

• Erica (10/5): Immersive in nature, quiet, and beautiful stay! - I loved Living Hotel Nosara. This is a beautiful property, and one feels immersed in the forest and nature, even with it close to everything in town. The bungalows are cute, comfortable, and well-maintained. I appreciated the large pool house space (which works well to be outside even during the rain storms) and most of all the cafe of healthy, fresh-made foods and wonderful barista making everything from scratch on site. And the included coffee each day is not to be missed! Just a wonderful experience with genuine people. Everything was great. I would have perhaps liked the landscaping crews with machines to start a little later in the day than waking up to that, but understand it must be done!

• soulminingpdx (10/5): Book Living Hotel Nosara if you're looking for lodging in Playa Guiones - It's a great spot! - If you're looking for a hotel in Playa Guiones, Living Hotel is a great spot to land! Our party was 2 people with surfboards and they were very accomodating! The room provided everything you needed during downtime (AC was super cold!) and the onsite surfboard storage room and pool area was very nice as well. Everyone we encountered on the staff from the cleaning team, to the cafe barista, to the Hotel Manager Alejandro were awesome. Alejandro deserves a special shout-out as he was such a cool dude and provided all kinds of helpful information for any questions we might've had about Nosara / Playa Guiones....where to eat, beach trails, etc....hit up Alejandro! His customer service was excellent and that goes a long way when you're trying to navigate the area. The major plus with Living Hotel is its location.....for a Playa Guiones trip, you definitely want to stay in this area! Market store right across from the hotel with all of the best places to eat within a 5-10 minute walk...surf spots were all walkable as well. You can definitely find way more expensive hotels in the area but why? Save some $ on lodging by staying at the Living Hotel and spend the savings helping the local economy around town! • Philip (10/5): Location, Facility, Friendly staff, reasonable price. - Best Location - right on the main road with everything right at finger tip, the beach (5-7mins walk), super market, restaurants, yoga classes (at Norte), surf shops. Facility - pool is best to cool off and relax after surf/ breach time. Hammock, common seating area are good size to enjoy. Just like a vacation home. Communal (equipped) kitchen is great for making simple meals like breakfast. Free iced coffee and paid acai bowls are well worth it after morning surf, Perfecto! Friendly staff - Alejandro has been extremely helpful from the dates changes before/after arrival and all other logistical questions. Alejandro is just a very chill and friendly guy who makes you feel very welcome and relax matching the energy of Nosara. He recommended the best surf instructor, Yohan, who taught me surf with patience and analysis. These guys enjoy Nosara and share that feeling with their guests. Thanks Alejandro and Team for being friendly and addressing my needs timely during my stay. Great chat with Alejandro during the rain. Reasonable price - most reasonable price in Nosara when everything is expensive. Shower water pressure is not the strongest and warm water is debatable. It's fine to get by the hot weather and doesn't bother me much. Would be perfect when fixed.

• Kim (8/5): Lovely place to stay, but bare bones. - Location, parking, pool, kitchen were all great. Property has security and wonderful cleaning staff. Wonderful to get a tasty coffee in the mornings from the juice bar. The mattress was not comfortable. There was a layer on it that squeaked under every movement we made. The kitchen was great, but having a few basics like oil, full and working salt and pepper grinders would have been great. Not their fault but the power kept going out in town. No generator in sight meant the rooms got very hot without the fan or AC I kind of thought there’d be more inclusions with the stay like bikes and boards to borrow. I wish I’d booked last minute rather than ahead of time because the price came way down

• Guillaume (6/5): Pleasant place but too old facilities - The location is great and the atmosphere of the place is very nice with many trees, a beautiful main building and a peaceful atmosphere. The juice bar is really good. The staff is nice. The facilities are much too old making it a poor value for money. The pool is to be avoided: too old, sharp angles and too much product inside. We had to bring our two kids to the medical center, one for stitches on his fingers and the other one for eyes irritation.

Would highly recommend - There was no breakfast included with our accomodation but they had a community kitchen which you could tend to any cooking needs. There was a coffee smoothie bar with free morning coffee but no available breakfast. Alejandro the manger was very efficient and helpful with all our needs. He spoke good English and arranged transportation and dining reservations for us. I would highly recommend this Hotel! It would have been nice to have a light breakfast included as they have the facilities and space to do this. We would have enjoyed that little extra.

• DayTrip16094204840 (8/5): Comfortable, safe stay in town - Clean and comfortable stay in town. Beautiful, elegant and simple decor. Smoothies and bowls are delicious and the pool area is nice and quiet. Alejandro was helpful on many fronts. It's a quiet place even though its in town. Recommendation: There's a jungle walk to the beach, behind the hotel that we only discovered a couple days in -- it avoids the dusty, trafficy street and construction zones.
• Kjstrickland (10/5): Great hotel, highly recommend! - The Living Hotel is an incredible little gem in Nosara. We stayed for five nights as a family with our four and six year old children and had a wonderful stay. The pool was an awesome addition to come back to after our long days at the stunning beach or adventuring. We also made good use of the kitchen, which was a nice break from the very pricey restaurants in Nosara. Highly recommended, would stay again. The beds could definitely be a little softer.

Central location in Guiones, but still quiet because the whole village goes to sleep after 9 pm, which I loved. Early morning wake up calls by howler monkeys like in every hotel in that area, making nice feeling of living in the middle of jungle. Room and surroundings were clean but needed some face lift. But didn’t bother me. Bikes available for getting around in the area. Delicious smoothies and fruit bowls available in the hotel bar.

• N-I-B-0-0 (10/5): Oasis in the busy Guiones - I have stayed at the Living Hotel several times and can highly recommend it. The location is absolutely great. There is a small supermarket in the immediate vicinity on the other side of the street. The restaurants and stores in Guiones Norte are in the immediate vicinity and within walking distance. The beach is also only a few minutes' walk away - this is especially great early in the morning to start the day on the beach. The hotel has a pool and very beautiful surroundings with lots of plants and animals. The monkeys and squirrels can be observed directly and daily. :-) The accommodation offers small bungalow-like rooms that provide everything you need for an uncomplicated stay. The hotel itself is not huge and the rooms offer a nice privacy. Alejandro, who is always on site, is very helpful and nice. Even as a solo traveler, I always feel safe and comfortable in the friendly Living Hotel. Many thanks & Pura Vida!

Also a juice bar on site but not always opened. When they are open they also have coffee available that they will make you free of charge if you are staying at the hotel. Only minor complaints are the pool definitely needs some work. Lots of missing tiles and could really use a face lift. Also if you need WiFi--it is extremely spotty service. I was working while there and could not use the WiFi for work at all and luckily was able to go to a coworking center about 5 minutes away by car to work. Otherwise the location is great--just a few blocks from the beach and next to several restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

• Barbara (10/5): Lovely common area and double room - The common area is wonderful. Easy free coffee and tea all day, full kitchen, couches and hammack, and the swimming pool is nice and deep. My favourite place is the yoga loft, so peaceful up there, nice place to stretch and relax. We had a double room which was perfect for us, kids had their room, my husband and I had ours, and we shared the bathroom and outdoor space. Although it's in a busy part of town, our room was all the way at the back, backing on the jungle, it was always quiet except when the monkeys were throwing their fruit discards on our roof, which we thought was so cool, to get to stay right in the jungle with the monkeys, close to the beach and centrally located. Doesn't get any better. The atmosphere is relaxed. We had family staying at the Gilded Iguana at the same time. We were surprised that their rate was barely higher than ours as so much more is included at the Gilded Iguana, but that hotel has an all inclusive feel with lots of waste. The Living Hotel was perfect for us.

• Stein (8/5): I would definitely stay there again as a charming low budget hotel with a lot of charm centrally located. - The property has a nice jungle design with a pool, seating area, a pod coffee maker and cold water dispenser to fill your water bottle. It’s Very relaxing in the morning. The ladies did my laundry for me which was a huge plus! The room is too small for two people. I shared it with a friend and there was not much space to spread out our suit cases. The room is very quiet and charming, with remote AC and the bathroom was very good with a blow dryer included and a good size shower and hot water.
• Naoko (10/5): Oasis 🙂 - Loved everything about this oasis. Small, quiet, convenient and such a charming hotel. All the staffs are very helpful and pleasant. Just a great vibe! We will come back. Thank you Alejandro for everything. Maybe Wifi in a room can be improved..?
• Jeffrey (10/5): - Only stayed one night before meeting friends, but hotel was simple, clean & great location, easy walk to the waves
• Guido (7/5): Good - The road works in front of the hotel… noise was terrible and there was no access for vehicles
