Ana (10/5): Beautiful and comfortable - My sister and I had a wonderful stay at Mansion San Miguel. The staff there is super helpful and friendly and ready to help you out with whatever you need. The hotel itself is beautiful with plants, art, and nice little places to sit and relax and a rooftop with stunning views and we stayed in Cielito Lindo, which is a large and comfortable room with a nice little balcony. Showers were hot and plenty of water pressure. Jorge at the front desk knows so much about San Miguel and can recommend lots of things to do. The location gave a lovely view but that last little uphill street was steep to walk up. We ended up taking taxis occasionally, but they are very inexpensive and convenient in San Miguel.
Gregory (10/5): A complete and total delight - We loved every single thing about Mansion San Miguel, from the feeling of being in a lovingly cared-for oasis to the genuine kindness and warmth of the whole staff. We really can’t think of a place we have enjoyed staying in more than this one. Not one thing. Oh, I suppose I might have liked softer pillows. But that just seems petty!

Amazing rooftop deck overlooking San Miguel. Such a nice stay. The street light brightened our room through the cracks in the curtains. Enough to light up the room despite large curtains. Recommend installing blackout curtains in that room that are closer to the wall so there isn’t space for that light to get through.

The upstairs deck was a wonderful afternoon gathering spot. The staff was very helpful and always smiling! Breakfast was delicious. The rooms were tastefully decorated and large and the beds were extremely comfortable.

Hayley (8/5): - Beautiful hotel! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Simple breakfast offered in the morning was great. The view from rooftop is very lovely and there is a hot tub! The one thing to note is that the hotel is up a longer hill from the centro and then the rooms are on two floors (no elevator). Not an issue for us, but if you have mobility issues, this specific hotel may not be a good choice. The room was spacious and simple, but comfortable. There is air conditioning in the room. Room was clean and the property tidy. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend it to others.

Rebecca Danielle (10/5): We highly recommend Mansion San Miguel. It exceeded our expectations! - We had an incredible stay at Mansion San Miguel. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! We absolutely loved the property-- it is beautiful beyond what the photos show, and it is a quiet and serene oasis to begin and end your day. The room was well-appointed, clean and very comfortable. We walked to get everywhere, and found the location to be great. Taxis are plentiful and a good option if you don't love that much walking. The hill up to the hotel was challenging, but honestly not too much. Trust me, that walk is worth it for this property and the views from the rooftop! No complaints!

The staff worked very hard as there did not seem to be many. It is somewhat barebones for such nice property. Perhaps, the price would not be as appealing were the overhead to increase.

Tienen una terraza amplia con muy buena vista. La habitación aunque era pequeña fue cómoda (se escuchaban los ruidos de la calle) las almohadas también eran cómodas. Creo que hay varios puntos para mejorar teniendo en cuenta calidad vs precio: 1) Acceso: inicialmente la calle para llegar es muy complicada, muy empinada. 2) Estacionamiento: tiene costo y me pareció excesivo, teniendo en cuenta que es lote baldío. 3) Desayuno no nos lo ofrecieron un día ya que eran las 10:55 am, posterior al día siguiente vimos a unas personas a la 11:00 am apenas sirviéndoles el desayuno, nos pareció raro. Adicional el servicio es muy sencillo. 4) Finalmente en la terraza cuenta con un jacuzzi que tienen muy sucio, nos comentaron que podíamos usarlo y nos dimos cuenta del mal estado que estaba y nos generó alergia en la piel. Pienso que podrian informar desde el inicio que está fuera de servicio.

The last two blocks are a steep climb. We didn’t mind because it was good exercise but it might not be for everyone.

Ross (10/5): Fantastic welcoming stay! - Extremely friendly hosts, nothing was an issue and they went over and above to accommodate our early check out! Breakfast was as lovely on the terrace and the fresh warm bread was a bonus. The hotel was close to everything and had a fantastic view of the town! Would definitely stay here again! Everything was great!
Danna (10/5): Lovely oasis of calm in the center of San Miguel. - Lush vegetation with calming sounds of water splashing in the courtyard. Beautiful antique cantera stone columns, floors and stairs accented with exquisite wrought iron throughout the whole hotel. Lovely rooftop patio for sunset viewing. Guests be warned: property is located on a steep hill and you will need to be at least moderately fit to navigate this street. No elevator in hotel, so be prepared to climb stairs.

Bowman (8/5): Good value, sweet service, a hike up the hill to work off all the food we ate. - Hotel is small and service is good. It was very quiet when we were there. The courtyard, breakfast terrace and rooftop are very nice. Only improvement would be to replace the a/c split unit. It moved air around but didn't really cool. It does get hot in San Miguel and unless you want to hear the alley noise or the courtyard you need better a/c function.

Maria (10/5): An exceptional place to stay while visiting San Miguel de Allende! - The property was absolutely gorgeous and was the perfect balance between boutique hotel and luxury airbnb. The bed was comfortable, room had air conditioning, and the bathroom was spacious. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The continental breakfast (included) was a great start to the morning offering fruits, granola, yogurt and coffee. The location was excellent, a 10-15 minute slow picturesque walk down the hill to the city center. The rooftop offered a panoramic view of SMA! The property was lovely but not wheelchair accessible. Wouldn’t recommend bringing heavy luggage if you select a room on the second floor. The staff will absolutely help if needed !

The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was very clean and sufficient space. Once familiar with the location it was just 10 minutes from the center of town and 5 minutes in a taxi. It is located in a hilly section of town so hip/knee issues may be a concern..otherwise safely walking home after a delicious dinner was a welcome relief... -0-

Given the room description on Booking.com, I was expecting a room with a private patio and a fireplace (as described in the room description). However my room had neither. I believe this is the fault of Booking.com, because when I complained to the hotel they showed me the reservation they got from Booking.com, which listed the room I was in, and not the room with the listed amenities. I was very disappointed by this, but my room was fine. I should also note that I found it impossible to complain about the room on the booking.com website, and was unable, despite multiple tries, to contact anyone at booking.com by either chat or phone.

Very walkable to Benito Juarez park ,churches, many restaurants and crafts shops. The staff, especially Tomás, went above and beyond to help all the guests. Breakfast was very filling. Edith (9/5): San Miguel is expensive and this is a decent middle of the road stay with a beautiful property. - Beautiful property with cozy, clean and well equipped rooms. Bottles water provided each day and A/C and heating are available in the room. The rooftop terrace is great for views of the town and the neighborhood is quiet. Friendly staff. The rooms are right next to walkways with windows facing the courtyard so basically you had to keep the windows closed at all times. The room was small and didn’t have good storage built in.
Frank (10/5): This is the perfect alternative to a high priced 5 star hotel. - We liked The calm and peaceful setting with a spectacular view and, there are only eight rooms.!!! It was all good.

Natalie (10/5): Beautiful hotel. - Hacienda feel with lush center courtyard. There are several steps to get up to the rooms and no elevator. Mentioned in case that is an issue. Our room was very comfortable. Clean sheets and bathroom. Good size room with wardrobe, chair and comfortable bed. Breakfast can be taken inside or out. Yogurt, granola, bread and fruit are included. Any type of eggs with beans and bacon can be ordered at an additional charge. The top of the hotel has a tremendous view of the city including the cathedral. There are several seating areas including a hot tub. We used the hot every night and enjoyed the night view of the city. The hotel is at the top of a very steep hill. Going down was fine but up was some work. After dinner we took an Uber each time.
