Guest Reviews
- Glenis (10/5): - Have stayed here a couple of times when visiting in the area and would not now stay anywhere else. Friendly, clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast, comfortable beds and attentive owners make staying here a pleasure in a quiet, safe elegant home.
- William (10/5): Great holiday - Quiet, Comfy, clean and beautiful room. Only a short distance from a choice of great beaches or the moors. Very friendly service. Great breakfast options.
- Helen (10/5): Great stay - We were attending a wedding at Powderham Castle and the old Vicarage was an ideal location to stay as it was within walking distance.
Great hospitality from the owners, scrumptious varied breakfast and an overall lovely stay. Thank you.
- Kevin (10/5): - Very enjoyable stay in old vicarage with faded charm but good amenities. Bob is an excellent host and provides a generous cooked breakfast. Good location for Powderham Castle and a base for exploring the Exe estuary.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed in the Amethyst room, which had great views of the garden. Very tastefull, clean and quiet. Perfect. Jane, the owner and our host was lovely and friendly. I would most definitely recommend her breakfast. Delicious and 10/10 for our stay
- John (10/5): - Very friendly and comfortable stay woukd go again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Interesting old house and good breakfast. Easy walk to 2 great restaurants. Friendly owners who are happy to advise on local information
- Verified traveler (10/5): Definitely worth staying here. - Beautiful house. Was made to feel very welcome. All very easy. Unfortunately, I'm not a breakfast eater but I could see that it was all very fresh, well presented. Lovely place to stay. Would recommend for sure.
- Sonia (8/5): - Bob the owner was very nice and he gave us good recommandations of restaurants and place to see.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Two very good local restaurants but not cheap. Road works while we were there made it difficult to get out at night. Accommodation good but a little better attention to some of the cleaning would up the standard. Shower dripped constantly..
- Majkenny (10/5): A fab place to stay - What a fab B & B, very friendly owners, lovely room (great wifi) - superb breakfast & great places to eat nearby
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely house reminiscent of Jane Austen. - Very accommodating host who made us welcome for what was a flying visit with time constraints.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cozy B&B - We very much enjoyed our stay at the Vicarage. It is located close to Powderham Castle, and the estuary of the river Exe. There are many lovely walking trails nearby, including one to a secluded pub on the Exe River. Bob Marsden, our host, could not have been nicer, and the breakfast was superb.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Two nights, very comfortable beds, modern en-suite, good shower, clean, great breakfast, lovely hosts. Work to the outside of the building spoils the first impression, but does not detract from the warm, friendly welcome and comfortable stay.
- DaveW266 (10/5): - Excellent location close to Powderham Castle and 10 mins from Exeter. Here for daughters graduation. Would recommend and will stay again if in area. House oozes character. Bob really friendly and chatty.

Upon arrival he was very friendly and helpful.
The room was lovely and clean and had all that I required.
Breakfast in the morning was fantastic and again great service.
Will definitely look to stay here again when I'm in the area.
