Guest Reviews
- Christine (10/5): I wish we could have stayed longer! - Beautiful!
- Luna (6/5): - The toilet make a rare noise at the room, and we saw a giant rat at the garden, the staff didn’t told us information about the free breakfast and they only gave us breakfast for four people even when I did the reservation for six
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Hector (10/5): - Nice, quiet.
Great food
- Rick (8/5): - Was good and as expected
- 381lindet (8/5): Armida Hotel by Gamma is a good place to stay in Guaymas. - Clean, comfortable, secure parking, attentive staff, reasonable rates. Initially hard to see, as the Gamma sign is in a subdued tan colour on a tan building, which has a flat & uninteresting front to the main street. The interior courtyard is lovely, and there is a swimming pool, a restaurant (breakfast served here), and a steak house. Recommended by friends, and we will pass that on. Some English spoken, a choice of American or a more varied breakfast.
- Monica (10/5): - Super agradable personal, muy amables, la verdad súper recomendable
- Bruce (8/5): Very good - Steak house
- Rick (7/5): Good - Breakfast was excellent.
Selection was bountiful and fresh It could not have been any better

- Renato (8/5): Very good -
- Linda (10/5): Pleasant Overnight Stay - Hotel Armida is our regular stop, traveling to and from Mazatlan. The staff are friendly and helpful. The interior grounds that surround the pool are beautiful, offering an enjoyable spot to sit and read. In addition, the hotel has a restaurant and an adjacent steakhouse, both providing delicious food.
- Royli (10/5): - I loved to stay here with my family. very nice place to spend the weekend with family and friend very affordable prices and also the option of buffet early in the morning. such a great experience !!! can't wait to go back !!!!
- Carmen (10/5): - Safty
- Orozco (5/5): Hotel was fine but after experiencing items being taken from my room probably would not stay again. - Restaurant on site was great along with waiters. Clean rooms and pool was nice! Housekeeping staff took items from my room. From desk staff was a bit slow with responses especially while check in process.
- octavio (8/5): - Everything was nice and clean. The security was also good for us. Thank you.
- YOUSSEF (8/5): - Average place,
- Glen (10/5): - The protest has been there for decades and there have done a great job of keeping it up while retaining its charm. Highly recommended.
- Linda (7/5): Could have been better - Nice restaurant and staff Pool closed upon arrival on a very hot day. Room showed a lot of wear and tear. Loud air conditioner with loose plastic housing kept us up.
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tera (7/5): Good - Nice hotel - 2 restaurant choices No control over guests being very loud until 12am
- Pete (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast wad very good. In an easy location off freeway. nothing
- Sasqwatch (10/5): Exceptional -

- Padilla (7/5): Good -
- Shireen (9/5): We would definitely recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here next time - It’s an oasis in the city. Beautiful property. Secure parking. Clean, comfortable and quiet rooms. Very helpful staff. And great restaurant on the main level. We are serious coffee drinkers. We had an early departure and could not get a good coffee before we left.
They do give you 2 Keurig pods in the room. We asked for 2 more and they weren’t available. But more and better coffee would have made this a perfect stay.
- Tanya (9/5): Superb - The grounds were beautiful I had to ask to change the sheets because there was something on then.
- Judy (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jimenez-gonzalez (10/5): Excellent place to stay - Excellent. I loved it Parking
- Bruce (6/5): - Coffee maker not working in room. No hot water in shower Meal at restaurant was cold.
- Martha (7/5): ? - Very nice The stuff from the restaurant it was soo irresponsible not organizing I order a two cup of coffee and the waitress she just leave my coffee in table never ask me if I need sugar or milk she never ask if I need something else? She just walk away ,she never back to my table so I leave an I comment to another waitress about it ?
- Paula (7/5): Beautiful grounds. Great beds, most importantly. - Grounds were serene. Staff was very accommodating. The beds were very comfortable. Great location. Would have raised the rating if not for the screaming kids. The noise from the kids' baseball team was unrelenting. It was cute when they were having fun in the pool until they started running around the entire complex on both levels, including the parking lot where they took their baseball bat and ball to practice near our vehicle. 10 pm may be quiet time, but this is unacceptable at any time. The staff tried to help, but the onus is on the adults of the ball team. Parenting checked out when they checked in.
- Davidtapiar (6/5): Pleasant - No Good WiFi No solucionan nada con pago en linea
- Allen (2/5): Lousy - It was clean and pet friendly The most basic room one could imagine. Uncomfortable bed and pillows, no services. Incompetent front desk staff. Kept my ID and told me they didn’t have it and then ran after me as we were driving off
- Albert (6/5): Attractive pool/garden area but not visible if you request a pet-friendly room. Tedious check-in. - For rooms in some locations of the hotel, the garden and pool view were appealing. The 'old west' restaurant on site offered an enjoyable meal and a trophy-filled ambience. The final price paid at the hotel Gamma Guaymas, was much higher than that given on booking.com, through whom I booked. There was no breakfast included as was stated on the booking.com website (offered at $270 MX each) . The check-in was a tedious process, which ended up costing us approximately 1 hour. This was because the first room they gave us, to accommodate our small pet, was a depressing room with a close-up view of the parking lot filling the. large window, and a claustrophobic wall closing it in at the door. Rooms on the website were described as having a pool or garden view. We requested a change of room to a more acceptable location, and we would not need to accommodate our pet which could stay our the vehicle. That change required another 20+ minutes of the desk staff conferring with their manager by telephone, to accomplish this complicated request, plus a $500MX deposit was needed. This was returned at check-out the next morning.
- Ronald (8/5): Very good - Traffic noise 😮 Traffic noise 😮
- Jan (7/5): Good -
- Verenice (10/5): Exceptional -
- Voyage282837 (10/5): Good experience, we’ll be back - The hotel was clean, quiet, secure and with gated parking with attendant. We asked for a remodeled room, which cost more, but seemed worth it. We also asked to make sure there were no large events scheduled, which could get noisy. The a/c and heater unit worked fine and wasn’t overly noisy. There was hot water. The beds were very comfortable with four nice pillows each. The room had two double beds, large closet, flat screen tv, k-cup type coffee maker, ceramic cups and real glass glasses in the bathroom. Ironing board and iron, desk, extra blankets, opaque privacy screen curtain and additional black out curtain. Nice bedside lamps for reading. There was no mini fridge but that made no difference to us. As in many European hotels, key card went into a slot to turn on the electricity. Sounds in the corridor outside our door and in the room next door carried a bit, but nothing unreasonable. Our food at the steakhouse was delicious (we didn’t have steaks, tho, so can’t report on that. ) Both restaurants seemed popular with locals. This hotel was exactly what we were looking for and we’ll stay again next time we’re in town.
- Laureano (10/5): - Good place to stay at!
- ChefAlcala (10/5): Great place - Great pool nice place to dinner great decoration feels like old west style great service at front desk from Carlos
Its also pet friendly nice beds great food
Best room in front of the pool nice tv channels very quiet at night near to carls jr
- Julie (10/5): Lovely quiet spot on a main route. - Staff are amazing. We travel with a dog. We can eat in the restaurant sitting outdoors with our dog with lovely views of the courtyard and pool. You have no sound from the busy road. The room is old but quite clean .There is no place nearby to exercise a big dog but everything else was great. Breakfast was wonderful. Our friend met us for dinner. He loved his combination dinner. We enjoyed enchiladas. No green space nearby for dogs.
- STEVE (10/5): Oasis inside - The Armida is not impressive from the outside, but is wonderful inside. The grounds, rooms, and pool area are excellent. Truly an oasis in the middle of the city.
- Patrick (10/5): - It was a nice stay.
- Julio (2/5): - The staff refused to give us more towels and sent us to a pharmacy for more toiletries
- Tania (8/5): - Very Friendly staff, cleanliness.
- Rhonda (1/5): Horrible! Never slept at all. - The entrance was clean and nice. The steak resturant had great food. The room was clean but so outdated. Blood stains and who knows what else on the mattress. Curtains did not fully cover the window. People fighting at night outside the room. Litter with beer bottles in the morning outside the room. Did not feel safe at all. It was very Ghetto! I would not reccomend at all.
- Esparza (8/5): Very good -
- Carlos (8/5): - Very good
- KEVIN (10/5): - They probably have the world's tallest cactus near the pool deck. Worth having a look.
- Brian (8/5): - The beds were great, the place was clean and I loved the gardens and restaurant. The front desk staff did not even attempt to help me understand their Spanish, or try to understand my English- very rare in my extensive travels in Sonora!
All other staff were attentive, patient and kind.
- Franky (10/5): Exceptional - Very beautiful large pool and amazing garden!! Very friendly and Professional staff..
- Mariana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aníbal (7/5): Good -
- Jimenez-gonzalez (10/5): clean, comfortable, peaceful, very nice stay - everything except the parking space parking space and too much deposit
- Letcherous (5/5): Dissapointing Breakfast - The buffet style breakfast we used to get is no longer given, you get a very basic breakfast now!! We used to stay here based on the breakfast, we wont be staying here again!!
- Blackham (9/5): This was our fourth stay! - This was our fourth time staying here. We love that they are very pet friendly and our dog was allowed around the pool and could eat with us on the patio for both breakfast and dinner. Safe secure parking. Dog bed and dish in the room was a nice touch. In our past visits, sitting around the pool at night with the lights in the trees was a beautiful relaxing quiet setting. This visit they had music and must have had a special for kids because there was a lot of them using the pool. Not bad, just different from our previous visits and we probably would try to avoid weekends in the future.
- Kerry (2/5): - I had a conformation on my pet friendly room. When I tried to check in I was told no cats. Dogs are ok but no cats. Expedia had called me three days previous to ask about my travelling with a pet. I informed him I had a cat. No problem he said. But today when I was checking in a woman informed the young man that was checking me in that no cats were allowed. Now I would like to know how I can get my money back for this room I was denied. Please let me know.
- Julie (8/5): Very good - Very helpful staff. Very clean. Secure parking. Great breakfast! Some things are old and dirty looking but not actually dirty
- Luis (8/5): it was good experience in general - staff
restaurant
breakfasts card room entrance system fail constantly
shampoo and conditioner with no name
- Mario (8/5): Very good - I like the food at the restaurant but the included breakfast is always the same and just ok .
Inside of the hotel is a lot nicer than outside. It is like and oasis around the pool . No options for the included breakfast
- Treverr (10/5): will be back again. - great breakfast low ceiling in room. hit my head hard
- Pablo (6/5): - The hotel is awesome. But breakfast is not included!!!
- Patricia (9/5): Superb - Pet friendly
- Andrrw (8/5): Very good -
- Janine (8/5): Very good -
- Cathy (10/5): Exceptional - I absolutely loved this charming, grand old place. It is older, but everything was clean. Very large room. Very pet friendly. Lovely outdoor courtyard and pool.
- Sabine (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (8/5): we had been here before and enjoy the location and dining - wonderful location and the inner court with pool is lovely the Armida is in need of some repairs. We were missing part of sink and the faucets leaked. The sink drain was partially blocked.
- Blackham (9/5): Excellent dog friendly hotel with great ambiance around the pool area. - the ambiance of the pool area is excellent, very dog friendly, friendly staff and waiters, secure parking, on site restaurant has good food and well priced. Toilet was running all night.
- Juanita (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was very pleasant The only thing was the hotel was hard to find.
We used our GPS but it couldn't find the hotel.
The Awesome part was we stopped at a convenience store and a policia was there and he led us straight to the hotel. He was very kind to us.
- Tammy (10/5): Thank you. - Mario was great! He unloaded all of our bags refusing our help. AMAZING!!
- David (6/5): - Customer service is great
- April (10/5): Exceptional - The style and the bed N/A
- Janine (6/5): Reconsidering whether to stay at Armida hotel again - Allows dogs. Restaurant was good and ordered meal was plentiful. Room was clean, staff were nice. Phone to order room service did not work. QR code for restaurant menus also did not work. Shower’s faucet did not work properly. Housekeeping only left two bath towels and one hand towel. No Kleenex available. We are considering trying another hotel after all the problems we encountered but there are few hotels that accept dogs in Guaymas. Also, hotel was the most expensive hotel we stayed in while in Mexico.
- ljlinner (10/5): Love this hotel! Great for dogs. - We are on a long road trip from Canada to PV so we just needed a place to sleep for the night, but we loved it here so much stayed an extra night. Don't let the outside appearance of the hotel fool you.... the outside might look plain, but once inside you'll see the wonderful architecture, the rooms are immaculately clean, the courtyard and pool area are beautiful and lit up at night, the restaurant is absolutely delicious, and the breakfast buffet was amazing and included live music. It felt more like a resort than a hotel. Great location with lots of stores nearby, Miramar beach is just 10 minutes away. To top it off, dogs are welcome here.
- Francisco (1/5): Will not recommend this place and will no longer stay there in the future with my family. - The Bellman was the only person they’re respectful . Location and restaurant. Property did not honor our original reservations book from Booking.com they proceeded to upsell us to a more expensive room and not honoring our request for handicap accommodations. Staff was very rude.
- Fernando (10/5): - Excelente svcs muy agusto y bien ubicado, en general muy recomendable
- Jose (10/5): We are so please and thankful for the service. - It’s an awesome place. I will highly recommend my Damian’s friends to stay here.
Thanks
- Icela (4/5): - Noise guests drinking in the parking lot until 3 am.
Limited parking.
- Enrique (2/5): - Not satisfied
- Patricia (10/5): - Super great Hotel. Personal pfofesional our first time at Guaymas and this Hotel make a great memory to my husband and I. I do not want to forget anybody but special thanks to Laura, Juan Carlos and a very nice lady housekeeping. Thanks Laura for the extra cold water for our trip back. Ultimately do not anybody hesitate to book this Hotel.
- Thomas (8/5): - Safe and clean property, very comfortable bed. Restaurant on site was nice and pet friendly! Water wasnt as hot as i like but for Mexico that isnt unusual.
- W Bartz (8/5): - Front end of the hotel is nicely renovated, including the breakfast/restaurant area. Our deluxe room was also renovated, basic, but clean and large with a nice bathroom. Room lacked some amenities like fridge, coffee maker, or microwave. Restaurant was excellent quality and value for both dinner and breakfast. Steakhouse waiter Fidel was a huge help with English/Spanish communications. Some sites say no parking, but actually nice secure parking in the rear.
- Mirsa (8/5): - Ok
- Kerri (10/5): I will be back - Armida Hotel is a very nice budget friendly hotel. Staff were friendly. Room was clean and stocked with all the essentials. Parking was secure and staffed by security 24/7. The hotel offered free breakfast buffet. We stayed 4 nights and breakfast items changed on a daily basis.
El Oeste, the steak house connected to the hotel was delicious. Rated #1 in Guaymus on Trip Advisor.
The hotel manager, who happened to be at El Oeste the first night we were there was very friendly and attentive. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and looking for k forward to returning in near future.
- Timothy (6/5): Not the best stay - The stay was complicated by a lot of construction on the property. I had to be shifted around because my room had no running water. Other things appeared to not be in top condition. However the location and convenience for me balanced out my stay.
- sideshobetty (2/5): Desperately in need of a renovation! - Desperately in need of a renovation! Toilet didn’t flush properly, no hot water, TV didn’t work, dork didn’t close or lock properly, electrical slot didn’t properly and the A/C didn’t work at all. The pool area and garden was nice and the lobby and restaurant present well but the rooms were old, battered and bruised!
- Raquel (6/5): - The hotel looked a lot more luxurious from the outside. Overall the rooms were disappointing.
- Timothy (10/5): Friendly, clean and convenient - Everything within walking distance. For me great for a quick stop and to get on my way. Comfortable. Great restaurant attached to hotel! Will become a permanent stop on my frequent travels through the area.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Fine except… - Overall fine, but there was no hot water, no wash cloths, no Kleenex and not enough hand towels
- Susan (10/5): - Excellent buffet breakfast included
- Gary (6/5): - Terrible shower, long overdue for replacement, spotty wifi, at best. Beds were comfortable and location good
- Linda (8/5): Stay at Hotel Armida - Other than the average condition of the room, the hotel is most inviting. The pool area is lovely with cacti, palms and comfortable lounge chairs and tables. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Also, with two restaurants in the hotel we were able to order from either one. Our plentiful steak dinner was very good, as was our complimentary buffet breakfast. We also appreciated the secure parking. We will return.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice. Cleans and comfortable rooms for the price
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Excellent safe parking. Floor was dirty. Clean bedding, towels etc. morning staff could not communicate in English, afternoon staff could.
- Adam (10/5): Quiet, pet friendly, secure parking - Secure parking, pet friendly (for $200pesos) nice quiet hotel.
- Alfonso (6/5): for me 6 - the shower was not good no enof water
