Host were very efficient and kind. Our room was not the most private. If there was a full house it would not be comfortable. But with the folks that were there it was not a problem.

Beautiful location on the hill outside Homer offers spectacular views over the mountains, glacier and Kachemak Bay. Room as well as bathroom were very comfortable - spacious, clean and very well equiped. Great value for money comparing to other options in Homer. I can definitely recommend.

Perfect room and space for 3 girlfriends who took a weekend trip. Breakfast was perfect with the hosts. We absolutely enjoyed our stay. One of the best parts is how environmentally conscious the hosts are about their property and how they care for the space. Nothing to complain about!

The house itself is simply astonishing, immaculately clean and filled with thoughtful, historical details that reflect the lives and stories of its wonderful hosts, Anna and Byron. It felt like stepping into a different time, lovingly preserved and shared with grace. We were there for our honeymoon, and Anna and Byron made it incredibly special. Their hospitality was beyond generous, they made us feel not just welcomed, but truly celebrated. The morning started with a delicious breakfast made from local products, enjoyed with a breathtaking view from both our room and the kitchen. It’s the kind of view you want to soak in for hours. We are infinitely grateful for this experience. It was the perfect place to celebrate such a meaningful moment in our lives. We’ll always carry these memories with us and cannot wait to return someday, hopefully soon, to hear more of Anna and Byron’s incredible stories and enjoy their beautiful home once again. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was really nice. Anna took our breakfast order the night before and had it ready at an agreed time the next morning. Loved all the breakfast options. We stayed two nights. Tip: if you have a large suitcase, consider packing an overnight bag in case you need to carry it up some stairs.

We were not able to access the kitchen (due to insurance) and there is no where to be other than in our room. We felt the host was not terribly happy having us there, more like an imposition. I’ve been a host for over 15 years and I know it can be demanding ~ it’s not for everyone!

The location provided stunning views of The Spit, the mountains, the glaciers and water, everything! The room was spacious and incredibly comfortable, providing everything you would need and more. The host and hostess were delightful. Our breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious.
• Belle (9/5): Superb - Dining area, bathroom and the bedroom are very clean, cozy. The bedroom on the first floor had a gorgeous view of the mountains, water and the homer spit. First floor stairs to the bedroom can be an area to fall especially at night.
• Allen (10/5): Loved it. - The view from our picture window overlooking the bay, the harbor, and the town was fantastic! Our room was spacious and comfortable and very attractive. Our hosts were gracious and hospitable. Visiting with Byron and Anna during breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay. We will definitely come back.

It was quiet and private, and the breakfasts were tasty!! The abundance of power outlets, little heaters, and slippers were appreciated. Our hosts were lovely people. We could tell they put a lot of thought into meeting their guests needs. Not a criticism, but I would love to be able to hang my clothes up. The room has a set of three hooks, so that was helpful for our coats.
• Anna (8/5): Very good - Our group of five was on a two-week visit to Alaska. We read a lot about Homer, the capital of Halibut, and were keen to visit the place even for one day. We visited Homer in peak season so there were not a lot of properties that could accommodate five of us at a reasonable price. We picked Homer Stay and Play and did not regret it. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Each bedroom had its own bathroom. The views from the house were amazing, and the huge bonus was that in the morning we were greeted by a moose mum and her baby. The hosts (Anna and her husband) were friendly and engaging. In the morning, they treated us to a delicious breakfast which we did not expect.

• Linda (10/5): A peaceful place with breakfast made to order and lovely hosts - The drive to the property rewards you with a good view in a peaceful setting on the outskirts of Homer bordered by nature. Our bedroom was the original cabin which is now connected to the main house by three indoor steps up. In the bedroom, two comfortable armchairs face the picture window where sitting and gazing at the view is a pleasure. A curtain provides privacy between the bedroom and bathroom in case Anna is setting the dining table for breakfast in your private living-dining room. Your own house entrance leads onto a deck overlooking the front lawn where, at night, star gazing is a delight when the sky is clear. We gave Anna our breakfast wishes when we first arrived. The next morning, a surprise entrance of toast with local salmon followed by sausage (his), bacon (hers), eggs how we wanted them, toast, a special homemade relish, and a homemade cookie with berry filling made breakfast a real treat. We thoroughly enjoyed our interesting conversations with Anna and Byron. It was a pleasure to meet them. Many thanks for a great stay!

The next morning there was a moose bedded down in the front yard! Anna and Byron serve a beautiful breakfast with homemade healthy bread. Delicious! We hope to return next year. The property owners are warm and friendly, and they serve a wonderful breakfast each day, specific to any dietary needs. Much of their food is home made and getting to know them better was a fabulous experience. The location is perfect: In the countryside and away from it all, yet within a short 5-10 minute drive from all the amenities and conveniences in Homer or the Spit. I absolutely recommend staying here and would definitely stay again next time I am in the Homer area.

The couple who own/run the place were very cordial and the Mrs cooked wonderful, healthy breakfasts. If I ever get back to Homer, AK, I would definitely stay there again.
