Guest Reviews
- Beryl (6/5): Very poor - We were very disappointed with our room it was very cold and although it had a heater on the wall it was useless. It was also very dark. Even the manager walked around with her coat on.
- Danny (10/5): Duggan Garden route Feb’ 2025 - The hotel is fantastic, the environment, the staff, the room, breakfast and location are 5 star!!
- Andreas (8/5): Fantastic location for walking next to the ocean. - It’s a great place to stay. No complaints the only thing we missed was air conditioning in our room however, their ceiling fan was almost sufficient.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Decent accommodation - Fabulous stay, staff were very friendly too.
- Stuart (10/5): Relaxing beach holiday - We had a lovely couple of nights here. It was a nice communal area, and the bedrooms were comfortable. Easy access to the beach and walking distance to shops and restaurants. Helpful to have secure onsite parking
- Chris (8/5): - The room was basic and clean. The service staff was great - very friendly and accommodating.
I understand the local water shortage and therefore no bathtub plug. It would have been nice to know ahead of time as we weren’t aware before arrival and our children wanted to bathe.
Additionally, the shower leaked all over the bathroom each time it was used.
Finally, the security spotlight shines directly into the room through the frosted glass in the front door. Please install a window shade for the door glass.
Overall we enjoyed the stay and hope our honest feedback will be acted on accordingly. We’d definitely stay again.
Thanks!
- Lorrie (10/5): - Excellent staff and managers.
- Sugandha (10/5): - Very convenient location, friendly staff and spacious room.
Breakfast was delicious as well.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to beach and town - Nice room with balcony over garden, good breakfast, very secure premises with old world charm and gated parking. Can walk to beach through a track next to the house across the road. Close to restaurants and surf beaches. Friendly service. We were given a room upgrade so cannot comment on the standard rooms.
- glenys (8/5): Quiet road near beach - Comfy bed. Soft pillows. Help with case. Easy safe parking nice breakfast. I thought it faced the beach but there are houses opposite. Pretty garden an terrace at front.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, pleasant room that would have benefitted from air con.
- Verified traveler (8/5): One Night in Jeffreys Bay - We only had one night at the Mandyville Hotel, which met our expectations. The staff were friendly and helpful, giving many restaurant suggestions.
The room and bathroom were clean and well equipped- safe, free water, A/C etc.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly staff and great location - We really enjoyed our stay - good local area, friendly staff and great breakfast
- MORGAN (8/5): Large rooms near the beach - This is a clean guesthouse near the beach with large rooms, secure parking, and a good cooked to order breakfast.
- shelley (8/5): Well worth the money - Great little guesthouse. Very comfortable place and warm staff. Breakfast is cooked to order and nice dining space. The room and bathroom we're both large and well appointed. My only minor complaint would be the mini fridge is kinda noisy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A GEM OF A PLACE TO STAY - This B&B/Hotel was one in a number that my wife and I stayed in over a three week period travelling the Garden Route ........ it was the best!! From the reception we received on arrival by 'Michael' (I hope I've got his name right) to the decor in the large rooms and the breakfasts it was simply superb! The beach is nearby but the majority of bathers are in the town area which is just a short drive away. The pubs/restaurants in the town are all good (certainly the ones we experienced). t would be our intention to return to the Mandyville when we next visit South Africa so thank you for the seamless way you went about things and for delivering a great product. Sandy & Annette (Glasgow, Scotland)
- Nicholas (10/5): Relaxing night in a relaxing town - Stayed one night in Jeffrey's Bay and Mandyville was a great choice. The hotel is on a quiet street just a short walk from the main strip of bars, restaurants and beaches. The room was spacious and beautiful with a whirlpool tub and outdoor seating.
The staff was extremely nice and helpful and cooked up a very good breakfast.
- Dorothy (10/5): Comfortable and quiet hotel - The hotel is on a quiet street a couple blocks from the beach, walkable to a terrific restaurant (Kitchen Windows). Breakfast was fine, staff helpful and the room was very comfortable.
- Bob (8/5): Nice hotel close to the beach and main town - Close to the main surfing spots with very friendly staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): Mandyville surprise - Very pleasant stay with friendly services
