Guest Reviews
- Celia (10/5): Great host, a pot of tea on arrival. Charming property xx - The main house & our accommodation in a separate building were beautiful set in a lovely garden. We were in Elm a very cosy room & great shower room. No dislikes.
- I Warren (9/5): - Very friendly,couldn't do enough to help
Lovely family run business
- LeAnn (10/5): It's worth coming back again. - I took my son to Tintagel for the bank holiday, and the location was perfect for us. The room was clean and comfortable. There is a hidden garden, which is a great spot to enjoy a moment. It wasn’t our first time staying in a farmhouse, but it was the coziest and most relaxing one I’ve ever experienced. Many thanks to the hosts.
- Sam (9/5): Convenient, cosy place to stay. - It's a perfect location for getting out and about around Cornwall. Comfortable, warm and lovely little treats left in our room.
- Hilary (10/5): Excellent accommodation that exceeded our expectations. - We didn't have breakfast. The rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable. We loved the beautiful gardens which would have been great for a summer stay. The owners were friendly and helpful. Very handily placed for Port Isaac, Tintagel, Boscastle and many other interesting places to visit. The weather! but we had a great time despite.
- Jessica (9/5): - We stayed for 10 nights overall. Debby and Gary were super accommodating and welcoming. If we needed anything or we had any queries, they were super quick with helping. The rooms were clean and well kept, and we had everything we needed. Beautiful old buildings and a pretty garden to sit in too…when it’s not raining! Highly recommend staying here! We’d happily book again in the future if we ever found ourselves in that part of Cornwall.
- Paul (9/5): - Cosy lounge area, lovely and warm.
Bed very comfortable, shower temperature bang on. With a lot of rain, outside of property was a little muddy, and the dampness made the door stick a little.
- Dorothy (10/5): We felt very comfortable and the hosts were exceptional. -
- nick (9/5): Very cosy and would recommend :) - It was so lovely! Host was very welcoming and we loved the addition of the lindor sweets :) We loved it! But parking was a bit difficult with a bigger car
- Charlotte (9/5): Very cosy, convenient and friendly. - The owners were really helpful and friendly. It was a very nicely decorated and cosy.
- Ray (10/5): 10 out of 10!!! Best self catering experience in Cornwall!! - What an incredible experience. The room was so cozy, comfortable, clean, and well decorated. The amenities were top notch. The service was best-in-show. The next time we are in Cornwall, we will definitely be back! It was perfect. Nothing can be improved from our perspective. Thanks so much!
- Phoebe (9/5): Great stay! - Kitchen was very well supplied for self catering, was in a beautiful location Nothing
- Suter (9/5): So lovely. - Such a wonderful welcome, The accomandation was really cute and clean. I had a problem connecting to the internet, one text to the host and all was sorted, along with a wonderful conversation of our love of books of which we had many in common I hate that this is a don't like, but I found that the leather sittees were very slippery resulting me alway trying to stay aboard. This is obvously a 'me' proplem though and not a complant.
- Mia (9/5): -
- Greenwood Andrew (9/5): Good location. - Accommodation had everything you needed for a comfortable stay Upgraded to the bigger room as the one we booked was a bit small as we had two dogs with us . Just right with lounge and kitchen separate to bedroom.
- Elizabeth (10/5): I will absolutely be returning and recommending Culloden Farmhouse to everyone! - All the home comforts you would need and Debbie was a lovely warm, friendly, approachable host.
- Anna (10/5): - Love it!!! Gary is such a lovely person, happy to help with everything. Beautiful property. Excellent for couples. Dogs welcome. There is two gorgeous 2 Labradors and cute cat. Definitely recommend and we will be back there. Thank you so much :)
- Anne (9/5): Fab!! - The location was perfect for exploring Cornwall. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful during our stay. It was very relaxing and just what we were hoping for.
The local butcher was excellent and stocked lots of Cornish goodies. The parking was tight but manageable. We visited in the last week of the season so the towns pubs and shops were all closed . We would have liked to have been able to eat out locally in the evening but obviously this was out of the control of our hosts and we would definitely stay here again
- Jason Michael (9/5): Good location, pity Camelford could have been a bit more lively - Traditional Cornwall
- Leonard (8/5): - Location and the property was clean and comfortable. The owners were very friendly. Nothing
- marco (9/5): - Camera confortevole e pulita, staff cordiale, parcheggio privato comodo, luogo silenzioso, appartamento completo di tutto
- Oluchi (9/5): It was a lovely place and I enjoyed my stay at Culloden Farm House. - The hosts were fantastic and made my stay completely drama-free. I arrived several hours before my check-in time, but they were more than ready to receive and accommodate me. They were polite and kind, providing incredible practical assistance when I needed it. The property is located on a major road and is very close to bus stops. Despite this, when the windows were shut, it was completely soundproof and dark inside. I loved it! I spent six days there and literally slept through the first three days without any noise or light interference. Internet was good, there were lots of options to choose from the TV. It felt peaceful and my hosts made it feel like a home😊. I don't dislike the place, but I believe there's limited potential for improvement. The building is quite old, and the ceilings are relatively low. At almost 6 feet tall, I had some difficulty moving around. Additionally, the room had an unpleasant odour, which might be due to poor cross ventilation. Some refurbishing could potentially address these issues.
- Jon (10/5): - Super comfy bed. Good size room Dog friendly.
- dave (10/5): absolutely perfect accommodation, hosts, village, very happy - this is one of the amazing quirky places i have stayed at the room was exceptional with everything you could need,
the hosts are very friendly and helpful
i could not fault the stay and wished i booked for longer. nothing it was perfect!!!!!
- Leonardo (10/5): Can’t wait to get back! - Gary and Debbie are very kind and welcoming, and the Oak apartment where we stayed is cozy and very comfortable. Also their dog Ollie is lovely 😃 It’s in a really good position for visiting Cornwall: 15-20 minutes away from Boscastle and Tintagel; 40 minutes from Newqay; 1h and 15 minutes from Penzance, Land’s end and Falmouth
- una (8/5): -
- Rebecca (8/5): Lovely property, good facilities. Friendly staff who genuinelyely cared about your wellbeing - It’s a very cute little property. The room was large with a good sized bathroom. There was a microwave and little fridge in the room, which I wasn’t expecting but was great to have. The staff were lovely and they had a lovely dog and a cat who liked to come and say hello. There were tea making facilities in the room and they also left us a couple of chocolate biscuits, which my daughter loved. They’re only half hour away from Polzeath beach, as well as lots of other beaches and things to do. It isn’t clear where to go when you first turn up, which ended up with some new guests thinking our room was the reception, as our door was open because it was warm!
- Robert (8/5): Little gem - Beautiful little cottage with lovely owners who were very welcoming. Cottage well equipped with essentials . Lovely comfy bed too . Nothing
- Dariusz (10/5): -
- Paulina (10/5): Highly recommend Culloden B&B for everyone visiting North Cornwall - Beautiful cottage with a charming garden, very cosy and spacious rooms
Good location to all the beautiful beaches
Friendly owners Everything was great
- Sheridan (10/5): -
- Ready (10/5): Lovely - Great location, friendly owners, was in self catering Oak cottages. Everything you expect from a cottage. Was impressed with the size and facilities Parking was a struggle but doable
- Melina (10/5): Loved it! - Such a pretty farmhouse, comfortable, clean, well equipped, beautiful gardens. Very welcoming hosts, we felt at home right away. We had a lovely stay location great for explaining around the area. Couldn’t have asked for more, Thank you 🫶 We were very happy with the property with no complaints.
- Laurent (10/5): - Everything!
Location is great and the beaches around are outstanding. I can also recommend the fish and chips store in camelford.
I would love to visit this accommodation again!
- Karol (10/5): - A beautiful place with an amazing atmosphere and very friendly owners.
- adamz (10/5): - Nice and free parking with great host
- Adele (8/5): Very good - Lovely comfortabe little cottage.
Friendly hosts.
Put up a single fold out bed for our son.
Cute gardens to sit out in the sun. False advertising on booking.com.
There weren't 2 beds nor was there a pull out sofa bed as stated. My booking showed 2 adults 1 child, hosts booking showed just 2 adults.
Listed a full list of extras we would find in the property and about 1/3 of the items not available.
Broken hoover.
No dust pan.
Alot of noise from upstairs apartment.
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - Excellent accommodation, really comfortable and spacious and easy access. Everything provided. Lovely hosts and good parking
- Laurent (10/5): Perfect in every way! - Culloden Farmhouse is a beautiful traditional set of cosy and stylish buildings nestled at the heart of Northern Cornwall, between the coastline and Bodmin Moor; very close to the town centre. A marvellous accommodation which helps you relax and disconnect from everyday life. The hosts are friendly, helpful and easy to talk to.
- Malcolm (10/5): Host excellent & very comfortable - When we visited Debbie was managing solo & apologised for not being able to offer full breakfast but bent over backwards to make sure we had all we needed in difficult circumstances personally.would re visit Parking could be challenging if running big car if busy.we had small car & advantageous to reverse in.& drive out
- Duane (9/5): Lovely place to stay with easy drives to the beautiful countryside - Very nice and comfortable room, the owners were friendly and happy to give any recommendations regarding best food places. Lovely garden, unfortunately the weather was not ideal so unable to make the most of using the outside furniture Great base for exploring the area
- Adam (9/5): Beautiful self-catering cottage with lovely hosts for a fantastic price. - We had a wonderful stay in one of the self catering cottages, Debbie and Gary (and the pets) we’re so so friendly and immediately welcoming, providing everything we could have asked for and more. Old-fashioned b and b hospitality was very welcome. The garden and tables were beautiful and made for lovely evenings eating tea outside in the sunshine. Everywhere in north Cornwall is 20ish+ minutes away from everywhere else and camelford is a perfectly central location to reach Polzeath, Bude, Tintagel etc without any real effort, the A39 runs through it so is perfect. Would definitely come back!
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful place to stay. Welcoming, friendly, helpful hosts.
- Andreas (9/5): Superb - It’s an enchanted place. We enjoyed it much.
- Greta (9/5): Good place to stay at/ really friendly host - The stay was great. We were always asked if we got everything that we need. Every morning the host do a clean and replenish the refreshments (coffee, tea, sugar, milk, water bottles...).
The place always kept tidy/clean. The room was big with a private bathroom. Outside had a massive garden that you can chill at. A few good locations for food just a couple of minutes away from the property that I'm would recommend are the fish and chip shop and amys kitchen.
As well they got a kitten and a dog. The kitten almost became like a temporary pet with the amenities. Always came to us and wanted pets.
The bed was comfortable, and I slept well in it. Had a mini fridge and a microwave as well.
The tv was good to watch Netflix on.
I saw someone say that the steps to the garden were a little tight... I dont think they are too bad, and I am saying this as a tall and in the bigger size woman. The tv was a bit slow, but nothing major if you got patience.
The parking spaces were big enought but thigh to get out of. Tho with the help of the host, we got out alright.
Suggestion:
Just as a suggestion, maybe get a small fan in a room for the hot days or for those who overheat? Even if it is for an extra charge. We weren't to hot, but it was a bit warm.
- Claire (8/5): Very good - Debbie & Gary were lovely & welcoming.
Nothing was too much bother.
Where the cottage is situated is beautiful - not so keen on the main drag of the village. Only gripe would be rusty inside microwave
(pet hate of mine)
- Jenni (10/5): Biker friendly, cosy apartment. - Cosy, peaceful apartment. Beautiful garden. The hosts were so lovely and helpful, from fresh coffee when we arrived to recommendations of where to visit, or an option to just chill in the garden. Biker friendly. Would book again. Thank you both. Highly recommended. Couldn't fault it.
- Gillies (9/5): Very relaxing and felt instantly comfortable - Great room very comfortable
Loved the coffee on arrival
Owners relaxed and helpful
- Chris (9/5): Superb - The place is very homely and comfortable, the owners were really friendly and helpful. Nothing.
- Stephen (7/5): A charming space but too damp to be comfortable - Charming cottage space near the main house. Friendly owners. Worked for self-catering as a stove, small fridge, and cooking utensils are all provided. Good location for north-central Cornwall. Good wifi. The room was so damp the floor was constantly wet and the sheets and bedding uncomfortable (although clean); slight odor of mildew. It was high humidity weather but they desperately need to provide a dehumidifier for the space. Parking was a challenge due to narrow driveway but there were enough spaces.
- Peter (7/5): Great for a short stay. - Very friendly helpful owners Self catering is a bit of a stretch. A microwave and very small fridge is about it. You need to eat out or get takeaways.
- Helen (9/5): Excellent value for money in compact and bijou but very well equipped studio. - Studio self catering twin room with bathroom which offers slightly rustic but well designed and equipped use of the space. Pictures on website only show one side of the room so don't do it justice. There is a good chest of drawers, second easy chair and a dining table and chairs inside that weren't clear in the pictures. Also a large wardrobe in the entrance hall, and a good sized shower. The outside covered terrace with table (which is pictured) and use of lovely shared garden with lots of seating are added bonuses. Would definitely return. Parking and turning round is tight - we were dropped off and picked up by family, but I imagine it would be tricky for a nervous driver or a very big car.
- Philipp (10/5): Relaxing and charming - It was amazing. Debbie is a great host, the place itself is wonderful. She‘ll be helpful with recommendations, uncomplicated and quick if you have any needs (towel change, toilet paper refills etc) but you’ll also have your privacy.
You have a separate unit including a small entrance, Cosy living room (TV / streaming access), a small kitchen with everything you need for self-catering, bedroom and bathroom. Everything is arranged very nicely. Also you can make use of the garden, which we didn’t really get to because we were too busy (but definitely good for a slow start into the day, for reading a book or just resting in some peace and quiet in the hammock). Also, very important, you’ll have a parking place. You should be a fairly good driver to park there but in general for driving in Cornwall. Streets are narrow and you should expect a few challenging driving experiences. Also you should be aware of the driving times - we did. day excursions to different places, some far and some close. But if you‘re desiring to spend most of your time in the farthest area West (St Ives, Lands end, St Michaels mount), you have to calculate 1,5h the drive either way.
Camelford itself is a dreamy small place with hidden gems (discovered a beautiful footpath alongside the river Camel just by accident) and shops + a few fast food take-aways in walking distance. Really the only downside (if you want to call it that) is the driving distance if you plan on going far west for day excursions every day. other than that, best choice option. We'd book another stay for sure, again and again.
- Gerard (10/5): Thanks Debbie see you again - My family live in the area. There is a beautiful garden for us all to use. Debbie was there for any thing we needed
- Barreto (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beth (10/5): Exceptional - It was really clean when we arrived and got it ready for us when we were arriving early, which was really handy for us. If I had to say anything it would probably be the parking but the owners where really friendly and helped us with the parking!
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - The room was just as expected. Debbie and Gary were both very helpful and informative about the area and recommending places to go. The parking could be better, but Gary was very helpful when we had a problem trying to park
- Ash (9/5): Fabulous short break. - Brilliant hosts were very welcoming. The accomodation was clean and all amenities were perfect. Thanks for such a great stay. There was nothing that we could find fault with.
- Barry (10/5): Wonderful accommodation, perfectly located and absolutely lovely hosts. - Extremely friendly and personable hosts who couldn't do enough for us. Their lovely, friendly, soppy dog and gorgeous cat also helped to make our stay an absolute delight. We wish we could have stayed longer!
- Robert (10/5): A great place to go to relax especially after visiting attractions and in my case family in the area. It was a great pla - It was beautifully arranged for maximum comfort. The garden which we could use was especially nice to sit in and have tea and relax. Both Hosts were very warm and welcoming so I will be returning It was all good
- Sarahs9896 (9/5): Beautiful spot to relax - Peaceful spot to freshen up and relax at the end of a day exploring the area. Friendly owners who checked in with us to ensure we had everything we need. Very friendly dog and cat who also welcomed us each time we saw them.
Short walk to shops and take-aways for meals. Fuel station a few minutes up the road. Wi-fi signal was a little weak but worked.
- Roger (10/5): Exceptional - Self cattering, lovely place to stay Nothing
- Helen (8/5): Cute and comfortable - Very comfortable accommodation. Good base for exploring local area. Friendly hosts Nothing
- Divya (9/5): Superb -
- Christine (8/5): Cosy appartment - Well equipped and welcoming. The throws over the series were annoying and kept slipping down. The double before seemed small for a deluxe room; I had expected a king size bed or twin beds.
- Dave (9/5): Fantastic -
- Stefan (8/5): Very good -
- Sam (10/5): Couldn't have asked for more! - Very comfortable, friendly hosts, the privacy of having our own annexe was appreciated. Very good proximity to the surroundings towns where we had planned to spend time.
- Keith (10/5): Lovely B&B or cottage with friendly and helpful owners. - A very cosy place to stay with welcoming owners. Nothing at all.
- Jf (8/5): Very good -
- Joy (9/5): 10 days at Culloden Farmhouse, Camelford. - Debbie and Gary were friendly and helpful hosts. We liked the area, although it was based on the very busy main road through Camelford. Easy to get to our favourite places. Spacious bathroom with an excellent shower, lots of hot water. Well equipped kitchen area, although we didn't use it much in the end. Personally, we're not fond of the leather look sofas. They were also a bit too low for us, so we sat on pillows. We also found the bed a little too narrow, trying to find space for our arms. We also found the narrow stone steps leading up to the property somewhat daunting. Not easy for walking stick users. We managed with the luggage and Gary would have helped if needed.
- Kathy (10/5): Lovely - Everything was lovely and charming Not a not like - just feedback. We didn’t know how to use the shower and I got in the shower and got some really hot water on me - so some instructions would be great
- Lee (10/5): Polite and lovely staff. Great rest and recovery. Picturesque - Lovely location, property Beautiful . Amazing Facilities. N/A
- Iain (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - the location, Hosts and facilities were all top notch. an excellent stay
- Penny (10/5): Perfect in every respect. Great value for money, very friendly hosts and a very comfortable stay. - When we arrived we were met by Gary. What a thoroughly lovely man - very welcoming and made us a jug of coffee to enjoy as we settled in.
He offered a choice of rooms which we had not expected and we ended up in what is a little flat really.
We were so comfortable. The lounge has 2 settees and a TV so we could chill of an evening. There was a kitchen area which was so useful as we catered for our own breakfast and brought take-aways back in the evening. There is a table with place mats which was ideal for meals.
The shower was great - a really good flow of water and hot. The heating was very efficient and we were able to easily dry out wet gear at the end of the one rainy day we had.
There was plenty of parking space and we were under no pressure to have to move the car when we checked out on the last day if we didn't want to. Gary told us it would be fine to return to it later if we preferred.
The bed was very comfortable and warm.
The location is perfectly placed for buses around the local area. The bus stop is only a few yards down the road on the opposite side. We used the buses every day to get back and forth when walking the South West Coastal Path. They were very efficient, on time and the drivers were really friendly.
This property was a great experience and is perfectly located for what we wanted to do. I cannot fault it - or the hosts. Great memories - all positive.
Excellent value for money too. Being able to use the alternative room (flat!) at no extra cost was a wonderful surprise and very generous. I would highly recommend this accommodation and would definitely revisit should I need to be in the area again.
- Amandeep (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional - Great place ❤️
Our room was quirky, clean with comfy bed.
Me n hubby booked as visiting the area for a golf day and look around, managed bowood park, Trebarwith sands and Tintagel. Would recommend this farmhouse and the area.
It's a vegetarian B&B in a 17th century farmhose - what's not to like 😀
Hosts Debbie & Gary, Ollie (dog) & mouser(cat) were all very freindly and couldn't do enough, offered to make us tea on arrival and put an extra heater in the room which my hubby loved.
Didn't try the breakfast as not sure if it was part of our package or not, and didnt have time, would of if we had time though. Nothing
If we had to be picky the lights flashing on the internet hub at night. However just put one of our hats over it and they were gone 😃
- Bernard (10/5): Perfect place to stay in a lovely part of Cornwall - Great location in Camelford. Lovely welcome with tea and biscuits. We stayed in Oak apartments which had everything needed if you wanted to self cater.
- Stephen (9/5): Camelford Culloden farmhouse - Cosy, well equipped, self contained room with all we needed. A great base for exploring the area. Friendly hosts. Accommodation & location were excellent. The only downside was Camelford town; only a short walk, but no pubs open and not much else there. Excellent fish & chips shop & average Nepalese restaurant.
- Julie (8/5): Very good -
- Diane (10/5): Exceptional - Adorable 17th century farm house. Lovely furnishings. Large room, very clean. Equipped with microwave, kettle, fridge. Tea coffee milk and treats provided too. The host made tea for us as soon as we arrived! What a lovely welcome. It was very near to the road and parking was a bit of a squeeze but not too difficult.
- David (10/5): Great farmhouse stay! - Absolutely loved the farmhouse! Great location for nearby towns.
Gary and Debbie were so accommodating and couldn't do enough for us, nothing seemed too much trouble for them.
The bed was really comfy.
The garden was a lovely place to sit out in.
- Jane (10/5): Lovely stay in a lovely property - Loved the self catering unit. Was clean comfortable and had all youd need.
Very idyllic setting and central location to lots of great places to visit.
Debbie and Gary always asked if we were ok or needed anything whilst still allowing us our privacy to come and go as we pleased. Would definitely stay again. There was nothing to dislike. The only constructive critism id suggest is that there is a bit more oven ware as i cooked a few times and had to use the grill tray as didnt have any oven proof dishes. I couldve asked but i just used what we'd got.
- Mark (7/5): Good -
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Hayley (8/5): Very good - The room was cozy and a very welcoming place to base ourselves from. Hosts were very helpful and welcoming and helpful and welcoming were pleasantly surprised by tidying of the room and towel changes whilst we were out for the day! Parking is a little tight, but manageable.
- James (9/5): Superb - Welcomed with a pot of coffee and biscuits. All sundries supplied. Debbie and her partner (sorry I didn't catch your name) are lovely hosts and very helpful. We were in a self contained apartment with all amenities. Perfect base for our weekend. Mobile signal very poor on O2 network. Unfortunately the weather was awful (nobody's fault lol) and strangely all the takeaways are cash only.
- Phil (9/5): Very comfortable and relaxing , very helpful hosts , much better than a boring hotel room - Great character property , lovely garden areas to relax in , large room , clean facilities , hosts tidied room daily and left treats , small fridge and microwave in room , short walk to town shops . Low ceilings in stairway to room and bathroom entry, small shower space, road noise if window open
- Harrison (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rob (10/5): Beautiful place to stay, friendly clean and comfortable. - Beautiful property, room clean and comfortable. Our hosts were very friendly as soon as we arrived. Stunning garden area for relaxing. Nothing, everything great
- Roberto (9/5): Nice structure - Owners super kind. Good position and honest price of the room. Pity there is no breakfast. Room just a little bit uncomfortable for tall people
- Jim (10/5): DON’T PASS UP THIS CHARMER!! - Location is perfect, it had all the necessities for self-catering although we have a tendency to not cook! Beds were lovely as well as shower.. truly a gem. It’s a cottage style in a beautiful garden setting with a porch. Debi (sp) was there to greet us and offer any assistance or suggestions. Nothing.. except the weather could have been better!
- Jane (8/5): Very good -
- Adheena (10/5): Exceptional -

Quite friendly owners There were plenty of wasps in our room, particularly in the bathroom - I have no idea where it came from (not through the window, though).
Very small shower room.
The room could have been cleaner.
- Leonie (8/5): Quiet ,homely and welcoming. - Very welcoming owners.
Comfy bed,we slept very well. good WiFi and sky TV.Good sized room with Clean bathroom.microwave fridge and kettle are helpful .Very pretty little garden to explore. Nice quiet and private . Nice place to stay but if I had to list negatives,Car parking is a little cramped.
limited electrical sockets to use .(struggled to make my hair curlers and dryer reach the mirror)but i managed 🙂.
No breakfast on offer which would be a game changer as we were starving by the time we got out anywhere to eat .
