Guest Reviews
- Francis (8/5): Clean and Cold =High Value - Its tidy clean little place rooms are small simple seem newly redone. We just sleep and go so not needing much. In town for an Astros game, right off 45 so convenient. Next door is a Walmart which again a convenient. Its just south of downtown H-town. Parking is very well lit if those things concern you, price is a good value for a bed and shower, lobby is tiny, coffee n honey bun both serviceabl.
- David (4/5): Employees need better customer service - Well the hotel definitely looked better in the pictures than in person. When i pulled in my friend was already making fun of me for choosing the hotel. Then when we were checking in we had to deal with an uptight employee. Saying we cant have visitors even though we are there for pleasure we wanted to at least bring new friends if we were to meet anyone. He said if we bring anyone he’d get security to kick us all out. Like what kinda service is that how are you gonna keep customers. Then the room was musty and the a/c wasn’t strong enough to keep the room cold. Then the restroom was humid. I also got this place because it had a good rating i didn’t understand that
- Jpitillo (4/5): - They don’t serve no breakfast and the Spanish male receptionist keep calling people room in the middle if the night for pettiness
- Ronald (10/5): - We wanted a motel close to the baseball field in downtown Houston. The room was clean and comfortable. The only two things that I pointed out to the desk clerk were that the stopper in the bathtub didn't work and the entry door seal or weather strip piece was broken and allowed a big gap
at the entry door bottom for bugs to enter in the room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I was not expecting the cleanliness of the room. Past times that I have booked cheaper rooms, it had something wrong with the room. This will be a go to for future visits.
- Samuel (10/5): - Thank you for the hospitality
- Michael (6/5): - Clean motel. Just ok
- Stephen (10/5): Fabolous - Amazing. Fabolous.
- Laquesha (4/5): - The shower didnt get warm or hot.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great choice ! - The area was clean and the space was lovely. My only issue is the lack of a working fridge.
- Mariela (10/5): - Great place to stop by and rest.
- Elissa (10/5): - Sonny at the front desk was the constant professional and very helpful!
- xinjie (10/5): - everything perfect on location, clean, amenities, only small lobby but enough for me to check in. Breakfast not fancy but also enough to take with coffee, juice, snacks etc.
- Jaime (10/5): - Super close to walmart, was cleaned consistently, staff were nice.
- Dayana (10/5): Excelente Ubicación - Excelente Ubicación , al lado hay un Walmart que puedes ir caminando. Cerca del terminal de Autobuses si estás sin carro.
- Cyprian (6/5): A Stay at Palace Inn, Wayside, Houston - There was no lobby where I could have stayed to wait for a friend the day I checked out. As a result, I had to pay $50.00 to stay in my room till 3:00pm. The advertised breakfast included in the room rate was a sham.
- Diego (8/5): - Everything was very good, there is no place to have breakfast, but we offer you the ability to have it throughout the day, I thought it was excellent. The price according to the facilities.
- Ashley (10/5): - Great service, quick check out clean rooms
- richard (8/5): - Pricing was very fair
- Brittany (10/5): Clean! - This was the cleanest motel I've ever stayed in. It was cleaner than some hotels. It's a small place in a decent area, and I felt pretty safe coming and going. I will definitely be booking again.
- Kevin (10/5): - Great place for the cost.
- RAGLEY (10/5): - Everything was very good.
- Amanda (10/5): - This was the cleanest motel I have every been to at this price point. The staff was so friendly and helpful I will definitely stay here again.
- Antonio (10/5): Great Room - Just stayed one night big storm rolled through lots of lightning could not really hear the thunder. Very quiet… Walmart next door made it very convenient for me forgot my sweatpants
- Ashley (10/5): - A good and clean little place to stay for a great price! Also loved how it was so close and how easy it was to get to downtown Houston from here!
- Kimberley (4/5): My prepaid booking disappeared - I don't know if it was this hotel or Hotels.com, but my booking was lost. They wouldn't even try to work me in, they just kept saying that the reservation wasn't there. The thing is, Hotels.com had already taken my payment. The Hotels.com employee I talked to about it didn't believe me at first when I told them what happened, in spite of having contacted the hotel. I'm never using this hotel or Hotels.com again. Lesson learned.
- Sophia (8/5): Relax - Overall, I enjoyed my stay here. The motel is older but newly renovated. You can tell the owner takes great care of the property. Our room was VERY CLEAN. We didn’t expect maid service to come through, but they did and did a thorough job. I like that Walmart is right next door and everything was easy to get to. I would definitely stay here again.
- Chris (8/5): - Clean facilities
- Galan (8/5): Just traveling through - It is A simple litte motel. Very clean with comfortable beds. Great price and nice people.
- Nancy (10/5): - The front desk guy was very kind.
- Frederick (10/5): - The dwelling was clean and well maintained. It was basic but nevertheless satisfactory. I would recommend it without hesitation.
- joe (10/5): - Manager was very accommodating and friendly.
- Dean (10/5): - It is very obvious that the owners of this property intend to keep it extremely clean both inside and out. The lighting on the exterior and the cleanliness of the parking lot was very good. They obviously know they are in a less desirable part of town and so they maintain the property really well to make people feel comfortable in staying there. The property is just a block away from I 45 so it is extremely convenient to get to various places. I would not say that there are nice restaurants nearby most or just fast food places and the property is literally next-door to a super Walmart. The hotel has a good fence all around it and a small limited entrance to the street called Wayside. I appreciated the price of the room but of course the lower price did not attract a higher income Clientele but the other guest did seem to conduct themselves appropriately. I was there for four days and the maid service did a very good job every day.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Super clean room and bathroom.
Water temp perfect and pressure amazing.
Cozy comfy bed and very good quality pillows and bedding
- Tolulope (10/5): - It was a great place
- Darrell (10/5): - Staff very good, room was really nice
- Darrell (6/5): - It's a nice place to stay
- David (10/5): Great stay for the price - This place is really trying to make a statement about high quality for a reasonable price. Everything was new fresh and very well done. My only comment is they need shelves in the shower
- Terry (10/5): - The room was nice, the Tv was excellent size and user-friendly and the refrigerator and microwave looked new. The bathroom and shower had new tile and were beautiful. My regret was that I already cleaned up before getting there and didn't use the shower.
One of the nicest rooms I stayed in in a while.
- Rebecca (8/5): - .
- Richard (10/5): "Nice Little Palace" - This motel has a tucked away location. Very secure and well kept. Everything from the building structure to the rooms' is meticulously maintained. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely stay there again.
- Vaughn (2/5): - The unique thing that caught my attention was the housekeeper was nice enough to show me that the plumbing works just fine because she was taking a number 2 when I walked in my room
- Lea S (6/5): - Poor service, cold & no blankets, missing toilettries
- Michael (8/5): Clean and close to the freeway - Nice , parking could be better, over all. Good.
- Jauthina (8/5): - Business trip
- Eric (10/5): Smooth - Overall stay was smooth no issues
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay eventhough it was very brief (one nite). We had no complaints --management was very attentive.
- Cynthiaa (2/5): - Room was infested with bed bugs!! Woke up in the middle of the night itchy because I was bitten all over my arm and forehead. They wouldn't refund the stay or seemed concerned about the situation.
- Jose Luis (10/5): Pleasant stay - Our experience was good and comfortable. They were working on rooms during the day but the noise was keep down to a minimum. The crew would shut down early enough that it wouldn’t bother you. There was a Walmart next door in case you neede anything.
- Dorothy (8/5): Overnight Stay worty the Pay - The Inn was Wonderful to say the least. The location and outside will definitely fool you. The room was very clean, smelled great. I didn't have much interaction with the staff. The only problem I had was the back to back room calls starting around 10am. I didn't ask for a wake up call so I can only assume they were alerting me to my check-out time which wasn't until 11am. Other than that my stay was great!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, well-appointed, comfortable
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The management is not very friendly here, in fact they can be rude. The continental breakfast that they advertise consists of a few pieces of fruit and a jug of coffee inside the small glass protected check in booth. Also there are no tubs in any of the rooms only showers. There is no carpet in any of the rooms and parking spaces are very limited because the lot is small. The rooms are clean & fairly modern but they only give you 2 large towels, 2 hand towels and 2 washcloths. Also the hot water doesnt get very hot only medium warm.
- John (10/5): The best hotel I never have - The best
- Rebecca (8/5): - It was pleasant.
- john (10/5): Very clean - Very nice and clean
- Verified traveler (6/5): - According to my itenary the hotel provide breakfast but no breakfast was provided unless they assume a bite size of donuts and coffee and unattractive apple is breakfast.
Friendly housekeeper. Room is clean.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Ownership is discusting - The worst hotel ive ever stayed at. The owner was a jerk from the time we checked in. When i checked in he tryed to say i didnt pay for double occupancy so my wife couldnt stay there unless i payed more which isnt true. I work late so i like to sleep in a little and at 9am hes pounding on the door saying its check out time. The one day i was at the room and my wife came back to the room and the owner calls the room saying he was going to call the cops because i had a visitor. I told him it was my wife and he said it wasnt. This guy is a complete joke. On top of all that the rooms had bugs and were gross. The owner needs to be reported to BBB
- Miguel (10/5): - Comfortable, easy check in easy check out
- Brian (8/5): - Comfortable quick stay
- Verified traveler (4/5): This property does not have Breakfast
- Front desk guy was rude. there's no breakfast, even though their website said that breakfast was available. the air conditioner was way too loud
- Verified traveler (10/5): Decent - The bed was comfy. The room had a table and a large mini fridge. There was a Wal-mart adjacent so if you had forgotten anything it would be an easy fix. Was in town for a concert and def would stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel - Thank you so much, for my 2 day stay at the hotel.. the hotel was so nice and very clean, and very well lighted safe place. the staff was working at night and greeted me and we're so polite and asked if we need anything else.. thank you I felt so safe at your hotel. Will recommend this Hotel to my other co-workers.... again thank you so much.
- Scott (4/5): No Breakfast Available - The Palace Inn Wayside was a disappointment. They list "breakfast included," but don't really offer even a continental breakfast. There is a coffee maker in the small "lobby" and small, packaged danish pastries and a few apples and bananas. I don't drink coffee and they did not even offer tea or hot chocolate. The "breakfast included" was a major reason I chose to reserve a room here, but I would not do so again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): What A Gem! - Not readily visible from the street. But clean, quiet hotel modern hotel, comfortable bed. A Wal Mart and good mexican restaurant next door. If you are going to MD Anderson Med Center, the city bus across the street leaves you at the front door. I would stay here again.
- Jessica (8/5): Clean but not fancy - I like that it was close by lots of useful places. The property was clean and felt safe, not a fancy place or anything, but clean. The water in the shower was opposite... so hot was cold and cold was hot. After figuring that out, it was fine
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good price - Clean - Located convenient to our destination. Clean and comfortable. Small problem with lack of standard room amenities - facial tissue, coffee maker, decent soap. Big problem - bathroom was ok but the tub and shower were extremely dangerous. We did not ask for a handicap room but should have. There is no bar in the shower to hold onto. The tub bottom was slippery - I almost fell. My wife was too afraid to shower; it was simply too dangerous. Strongly suggest installing a safety bar in each shower. The walls of the shower were smooth and slippery - literally nothing to hang onto. We only needed to stay one night or otherwise would have moved to another motel or demanded a handicap room.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The hotel staff was just so rude to us while we were staying there the whole time
- tash (8/5): good motel - When I drove up I thought I had made a huge mistake. For some reason I did not expect to see a motel like setting and reception. But that quickly changed when i went to my room. The cleanliness was at par with high end hotels. It was clean and not stinky! Clean shower, clean toilets, clean towels. Great budget hotel.
- Melvin (10/5): - Was here for wife to go to MD Anderson cancer hospital was about 8 miles from hospital Got Wal Mart next door and reasrants very close. Very clean
- Verified traveler (4/5): Bed bug in bed - Quiet and great location. Liked it until I saw a bed bug in my bed, had bites on my left arm.The Wi-Fi was non-existence too.
- Verified traveler (4/5): No breakfast provided - No breakfast provided while falsely advertising for hot breakfast. Very noisy and thin walls!
- Darcy (8/5): Looks can be deceiving (rough on the outside) - Outside is not appealing however inside the room was great!
- Serge (10/5): Super clean hotel - I usually don't write a review, when we travel in the states, but this place was super clean.
The Mexican cleaning girls do a super job.
The outside may look outdate but the rooms looks as if they were renovated.
The Walmart right beside the hotel is so practical.
From the hotel you have a 10 minute drive to the Magnola free parking transit center for the MetroRail Green Line to downtown Houston at a price of 1.25$
The tickets are available at the transit center.
Houston Space Center is very interesting.
- Tina (10/5): Convenient location - Nice establishment clean rooms restroom was very nice
- Rick (6/5): - VERY SPARSE BREAKFAST
- Chris (10/5): Great clean room for low price! A+ - Great place for the price. The area wasn’t the best but def not terrible or fearful. The parking area was very small though would be only issue.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean and up to date, however I had a lot of trouble with the wifi. Very reasonably priced and efficient place to stay.
- Ngocbich (6/5): - The WiFi too slow. WiFi little faster will be appreciated
- Mary (4/5): Wouldn't go there again! - Breakfast was weak coffee and some sort of store roll! When I registered and saw the man behind glass I knew this was not a good idea
- juan (6/5): - A lot of noise thru out the night, people checking in and out like a motel for a one night stand.
