Guest Reviews
- James (10/5): - The Cabin was new, the grounds verdant, the view of the bay charming.l. the wifi excellent. Liked that it was out of town but not too much so.
- Amarjit (10/5): - Nice property g8
- Lacy (10/5): - This was a great place to stay. The property is very quiet and has an amazing view. The check in and out process was so easy and the cabin was perfect for our needs.
Everything was clean and organized and you can tell they take great care of their cabins. Highly recommend this place and will return for sure.
- Jonathan (6/5): - This property was okay, but someone must have fried fish prior to our arrival, so it was a bit stinky. We stayed at the cabin furthest from the office so the Internet was spotty at best. The towel rack in the bathroom kept falling as well.
On the good side, the bed was nice, the couch comfy, and the view was great. With a little TLC, and a wireless internet extender, this place could be really good.
- Kelly (8/5): - The tv does not have a dedicated remote. I stuck a dvd in the slot, can’t get it to play or reject. Help, would like this dvd back. Otherwise all is good 👍
- Jeanette (8/5): - The views are amazing. Really enjoyed having a grill. No place to keep or make ice. Also could use dish towels
- SABRINA (4/5): Broken furniture - The bed was broken. We did our best to stabilize it but it sid not stay up on the metal support legs that had been bent/broken.
The blanket is a texture nightmare!!
I sent an email on check in and still havemt heard back. For $200+ a night a broken bed and unresponsive staff is unacceptable!
- debbie (6/5): - abit dated cabin
- Amber (10/5): - Outside of town, nice to be away from all the hubbub but still close enough to resupply easily. Pack in and out essentially. Good kitchenette accomodations (plates, cookware, salt/pepper, coffee fixings). Great little place to get away.
2 small cons:
Payment was required much sooner than check in, which I didn't expect when booking through Expedia.
The propane tank we dead empty, so I had to refill in town. Even then, the grill barely warmed up to cook out shrimp.
- David (10/5): - This cabin was perfect and exactly what I was looking for. Beautiful view, great location, clean, and well maintained. Getting in and out was easy and convenient. When we got back to Homer, AK we will stay here again.
- Gurinderpal (10/5): - Large spacious cabin with kitchenette. Bed was comfortable. Good views outside and close to downtown area (if you have a car).
- Brad (10/5): Amazing View from the Cabin - Home was amazing! Great cabin spot with a breathtaking view! Even though we only had one night stay, it was well worth the experience.
- Amber (10/5): - Amazing views, cute cabin with everything you need. We loved our 3 nite stay
- Jing (10/5): - 太喜欢这里了,坐在门口眺望远处的冰川和峡湾,宁静而美丽
- Sandra G. (10/5): - beautiful views, room was very nice with a great bed, us ed the outdoor grill and nice to have kitchen area
- Douglas (10/5): - The only negative was some road noise. Excellent experience overall.
- Lori (10/5): - Very clean, very nice!
- Teri (10/5): - Gorgeous view, very comfortable bed. Coffee and creamers, etc provided and the kitchen had utensils and everything you needed. Toilet flushing was a little weak. Had to hold handle down for a while before it flushed but it didn't plug up or anything. Door on fridge could use swapped. Can't open the door all the way because the heater is in the way of the door. I would still highly recommend staying here though. Very clean and gorgeous view and bed was fantastic.
- Lee (6/5): - View was great!Found mini fridge door broken and a very load drafty door seal.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect
- Deborah (10/5): - Everything was just right.
- Venessa (8/5): - This owner is the most responsive to all phone calls or messages. Literally every time I called her she responded quickly and most politely. The cabin was as advertised. The floor was newly done. The sheets were of good quality cotton. The mattress was great. I felt like they needed more kitchen utensils but I asked for an additional pot and the owner had it delivered the next morning. The house we stayed in was Lupine that had a stove top. The place was immaculate and felt very safe. It was between 7 to 15 minutes drive to everything including the fishing dock. The place is listed as not having a Cabon monoxide detector so I would carry one as the heating system runs off of gas. Literally there’s nothing wrong I could point out about this cabin with the fact that the owner was so responsive. Definitely would return if I came back to Homer.
- Nikki (10/5): - Adorable and cozy cabin with a breathtaking view. Fast and easy self check-in. Would stay again and recommend to everyone!
- Kathleen (10/5): - Amazing location to stay! Beautiful views!
- Danielle (10/5): - Lovely location out East end road. The cabins are quiet, clean and have an amazing view of the bay. We were there over a long busy weekend with family, and had a lovely stay. Highly recommend these cabins to anyone. We hope to book again soon!
- Janet (10/5): - The 2 bedroom cabin was beautiful. Very spacious for 4 people to stay in. Beautiful views as well.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Absolutely wonderful property. It was in a quiet area with a view of a lifetime for someone from Michigan. Our cabin met all of our needs and then some!
- Laura (10/5): - We loved our stay at Glacier View Cabins! Would absolutely recommend for anyone looking to visit Homer. The views are amazing and we saw moose right outside the cabin multiple times!
- Sharon (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Sue (10/5): - Great place enjoyed my stay very much. Wish I could’ve stayed longer but I will be back! Will recommend to everyone!
- Monika (4/5): Cold Room - The room would not get above 68 degrees and it was so cold. We had three adults and could not use the pullout “futon” because we did not have enough blankets in the cold room.
- Robert (10/5): - very quaint cabins. ours was a two bedroom with wood-burning (pot-belly) heater. VERY COOL!
View of mountains is exceptional!
Also has small kitchen with most amenities. DEF recommend. Homer is AWESOME ;)
- Charlotte (10/5): - Our stay was perfect. Super easy to check in, clean cute cabin, nice view and beautiful atmosphere. We'd definitely stay again.
- Sheryl (8/5): - Location, and view.
- Marie (10/5): - The cabit was magical. Had the most pircutre perfect view of the water and mountians and nature. Really relaxing and wish we had stayed longer. Only thing is that the sheets were not changed. Imprint marks on pillow cases and other peoples hair left over on sheets. Luckily there was another set of sheet and we just changed them.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Beautiful property. Cute cabins. Kind staff. Restaurant absolutely amazing. Almost perfect. Wish the bed had been more comfortable, but it wouldn’t stop me from returning!
- Teresa (10/5): Lovely cabin - Wonderful view on a quiet little hill. Everything we needed. Comfy and clean
- Erin (10/5): - It was an absolute pleasure staying at Glacier View cabins in Homer. Really beautiful view and lovely cabin.
- Richard (10/5): - View. Quite. Close to family.
- Douangpi (10/5): - Very nice cozy place to relax and enjoy morning cup of coffee, only down side that I didn’t give fully 5 stars because the bathroom is still smell like urine piss smells. Other than that it’s all good, would definitely rent this place again when next come around
- Ben (8/5): - The property had an amazing view and was in a good location. The cabin was cute and worth the money, but some things could have been better.
The ad says double sofa bed, but the couch did not pull out into a bed and was not very clean. We pulled off the cushions to look for a pull out, which there wasn’t one, but there was dirt and game pieces under the cushion.
The shower head could definitely be replaced, the water barely trickled out.
The sponge available to us was cut into one fourth the size so it was a pain to wash dishes, not sure why the whole sponge wasn’t supplied.
We appreciated the firewood that was supplied and the beds were comfortable.
Overall it was good and we would stay again. Check in and out was easy.
- Carol (8/5): - Love the view and property but the hard dining room chairs were not the best for a 3 day stay.
- Jon (10/5): - Nice place, great view, close enough to town, quality Alaska place.
- Terrie (10/5): Great stay - We loved the little cabin and its view. Very comfortable
- Ploa (10/5): - excellent cabin with a big yard
- Brett (10/5): - Beautiful view, clean, comfortable, and everything worked.
- David (10/5): Getaway with friends - Easy check in. Very clean and well stocked. Plenty of soaps and shampoo and conditioner. TV and private bath! Everything was clean and tidy! Beautiful views! The grass was freshly mowed that day!
- Tim (10/5): - Very nice cabin.
- George (10/5): - This was perfect for our toddlers. They loved running around and the lady who cleaned out the cabins was friendly.
- Kim (10/5): View of snow capped Mountains from the room. - This place was SO clean and everything needed for a wonderful stay! We grilled fresh fish and veggies, had a fire pit, a moose walked thru the yard and a SPECTACULAR view!!!! Another piece of Heaven in Homer, AK.
- Steve (6/5): Started out good but... lol... - Smores makings were advertized but missing. Had to ask for pillows. Had to oil a squeeky broken swival chair. The fire pit needs gravel around it as flames crept up in the grass around outside of pit. Driveway was muddy and if I parked out on edge of grass away from mud, the owner complained and had me move back in the mud lol... and into the rain coming off the side of cabin roof. Lol... The parking is too narrow for both cabins because cabins are at different angles.
- Christopher (10/5): - It was clean, easy to check in, and the location was great!
- Clint (10/5): - Amazing views from this property
- Lila (10/5): - Love the comfort for both my dog and I. And the views a
- Tricia (10/5): - Very nice
- Chana (10/5): - The view was why I booked this cabin. It’s not too far out of town and the property is pretty. The cabin was cute and quaint. It was clean and had what we needed. Check in and out were a breeze. I’m like definitely recommend staying here especially to sit out in the from porch and enjoy the view.
- Donna (10/5): - Awesome view. Quiet.
- Kashif (10/5): - Property has an incredible view of the glacier and surrounding bay. The area around the cabin had a nice outdoor area. Easy to get to attractions and activities at Homer. Fully equipped kitchen made it easy for us to prepare breakfast and lunch at the cabin.
- Christine (10/5): Glacier viewing from your own comfy porch! - Absolutely amazing. Glorious view, comfortable bed, this was probably our favorite place on our trip. Sitting on our comfy porch glacier gazing was so beautiful I did not want to leave.
- Shea (10/5): What a great place!!! - Teal was amazing to work with!! We are so pleased with Glacier View! We ended up booking for 2 nights and we are so happy we did. The cabin is so cute and cozy, but the best part is the view!! What a great addition to our stay in Alaska!! 😊😊
- Sabrina (8/5): Great view, beautiful cabin. Misssd the smores - Arrival, self check in amd self check out were great. Despite policy and property request that pet owners clean up after their pets the lawn was a mine field of dog waste.
The promised smore kit is no longer provided which was fine as the lighter in the cabin was completely out of fluid and there was no fire start just damp wood, not even a stick to cook smores anywhere on the property.
Two out of the burners on the grill lit. The third despite all efforts would not light.
The highlight of the stay were the three bunnies that came to visit.
- Leo (10/5): - Cabin was comfortable. Had everything we needed in a rustic setting with a beautiful view of the mountains and ocean. Short drive to restaurants and Homer Spit.
- Jackie (8/5): - The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The place was a bit dated and not what I was expecting at that price point. One of the 2 dining chairs was broken. The description said we would be met upon check in, but we never saw anybody. You just go to your room, the door is unlocked and the key is on the table.
- Steven (10/5): Great cabin - Great stay with great views.
- Karolyn M (10/5): - This was our second stay at Glacier View Cabins and our little family felt very comfortable. We love view and it’s an easy drive from everything in Homer. We will definitely stay here again.
- Ray (10/5): - We woke up to full grown moose eating in the yard around the cabin.
It was nice to step outside with a cup of coffee and watch them.
- Amy (10/5): - The owner, Teal, is fantastic, and was very attentive to several issues that I needed help with. These cabins are truly a fantastic place to unwind and enjoy being in Homer without the noise and crowds. The view of the bay is amazing. The beds are brand new and beautiful memory foam that supports but doesn't restrict: like sleeping on a cloud. The water pressure and hot water are wonderful and shower curtain was brand new. Microwave, stove top, full refrigerator/ freezer, cupboard space, utensils, bowls, plates, paper towels, even salt and pepper, and basically anything you could need to cook a good meal with. Did I mention the view? There were several unexpected issues with heating and cleaning but were resolved by the owner and did not ruin my stay. Bring an extra layer if the temps are still below 50 outside. The toilet seat in my cabin (Lupine) was very small (and low for anyone who needs to know) but did the job. Nice table in the kitchen to enjoy a meal with that view. Really can't be beat, an overall 10. Be careful as you turn off the road onto the property- the potholes are fierce. That's Alaska though :-) Long story short- if you like privacy, quiet, want to be close to town but away from the crowds, want to bring your own food and appreciate the best view around- this is the place to stay, you won't be disappointed.
- Marilyn (10/5): 50th Anniversary trip. - This cabin is perfect with awesome views, great bed, nicely appointed kitchen, and beautiful grounds. The fire pit and welcome s’mores kit is such a nice touch! Clean, comfortable, and appreciated. Thank you!
- Alyson (10/5): - We were very impressed with these cute cabins. We were only in Homer for one night. The cabin had everything we needed. They aren’t luxurious but they are super cute and have all the basics that you need. A fridge and freezer, toiletries, coffee and coffee maker, and dishes. The cabin was super cute and had a great view. Would definitely stay here again.
- Ronda (10/5): - The cabin was especially clean. Beautiful view. Very quiet. Bed was extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend these cabins.
- Kenneth (10/5): - Nice location. Clean cabin. Comfortable bed. Good blackout on all windows except door window
- Meghan (8/5): Amazing views, good location, needs updating - The cabins are in a good location right off the road with spectacular views of the mountains with glaciers. I was super excited to stay here and booked our trip based around availability. However, when we got there I was disappointed in the quality of the inside of the cabin: the carpets have big stains, the bathroom was not well finished and overall it just not as nice as I thought it was going to be for $300/nt.
There were so many positives though: They did clean it well and it had a well appointed little kitchenette and they had great shampoo, conditioner and body wash. They had fresh flowers and a gift when we arrived. I loved the view and location, they were nice and welcoming, and it was a charming cabin with a comfy vibe. Bed was huge and comfy.
Cons: they really need to either replace carpets or do hardwood- it's time. I didn't want to walk barefoot on the carpets. Also, the bathroom needs to be tended to, it needs to either be updated or spruced up a bit - little TLC is needed.
I don't know if all the cabins are like this but this is how the Fireweed cabin is.
- Michael (10/5): Beautiful roomy cabin near Homer - We stayed in the 2 bedroom cabin for 4 nights. It was beautiful and clean, with a gorgeous lawn and a terrific view of the bay and the glacier opposite.
- yarek (10/5): - Very nice and quiet area.
- Tammy (10/5): Nice - Very cute cabins. Beautiful views
- Tony (10/5): - We loved that there was dishes, pots, and plenty of coffee that were available to us! It gave us the option to stay in and it! It was clean and felt like home away from home! The view was incredible! We enjoyed our stay so much we decided to extend it and stay another night! Would highly recommend this cabin and hope to visit again!
- Jackie (10/5): - Super beautiful perfect getaway spot
- Duane (10/5): - Great place
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing Alaska - Amazing view & very clean room. Spacious shower and we were surprised with all the fixings to make s’mores.
- Ross (10/5): - My wife and I loved the view and the cabin was great! Kelly was great and gave us great information about the area! We will be coming back to stay there again!
- Hilary (10/5): - Gorgeous property - well cared for cabins, with an excellent view.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great view. Nice place. Great property. Would stay again.
- james (10/5): Postcard setting. Absolutely beautiful. - Postcard setting. Absolutely beautiful. Each cabin has a small deck with a grill and view of the water and glacier. Loved it.
- Lisa (10/5): Love the view and quietness - Beautiful view. Have stayed here quite a few times. Love the ease of checking in and out. Nice a quiet get away.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful view from a comfy front porch. Lovely cabin. Friendly staff. Reasonably priced. You should stay here when in the Homer area.
- Louisa (10/5): - The cabins were spotless and the host, Kelly, couldn’t have been more accommodating. Location had a great view of the glaciers. Too far from town to walk around Homer but the upside was minimal traffic and construction noise.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful hosts and amazing view. We will be back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Kelly has created a wonderful home away from home setting that is not too cute but perfectly balanced - think quilts and hot tea with friends. My granddaughter loved running around on the lawns that roll down from the cabins toward the sea. The fixings for 'somores' laid out on the kitchen table practically invited me to the outdoor fire pit for a relaxing twilight celebration of friendship.
I highly recommend this property for a family oriented stay in the Homer area.
- Kristine (10/5): Surprise by glacier - Nice quiet place to stay with backyard view of Glacier. Well equiped space, friendly host and fireplace bonus with ingredients for optional smorf while enjoying solitude and beauty of the outside. Very friendly helpful host made us fill at home! Weather shifts made us face some unexpected warm temperatures in cabin which required adjustment with fan provided by host:)
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Gorgeous views!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean. Helpful staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - View of the bay with glaciers across is stunning. Comfortable bed, plenty of towels. Step-in shower with benches was easy for me while I’m on crutches for knee surgery. Small kitchenette was handy for breakfast. Makings of s’mores in each room seemed to entice guests to the fire pits in the evenings.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice and cozy with fantastic view. I Highly recommend this place. The owner was super nice.
- ying (10/5): - Super comfortable and nice owner!
- aradhana (10/5): - The owner was very thoughtful. The cottages are equipped with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. There is enough firewood for the fireplace as well as for the outdoor the fire pit. Chocolates and maers
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean cabin in great condition. Well kept yard. Beautiful Mountain View’s. Close enough to town. Cabin well supplied with all you need.Beds very comfortable. Bathroom clean and well supplied. You can tell the owners are very responsible and take pride in their place to provide a positive experience for guests. We liked the cabin so much we were content to just hang out there for much of the time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was exactly what we needed for our one night stay plus more… we did not get to grill outside but waking up to a German Shepard head against the bay/ Mountain View’s was priceless. Thank you again and again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay at Glacier View Cabins. Our cabin was immaculate, spacious, and very comfortable for our family. The views were fantastic, the lawn and fire pit areas well kept, and my kids loved playing with the owner’s dog. Would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The view is incredible, nice having a kitchen - there is no oven only stovetop and microwave but, each unit has a BBQ which works out nicely.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The view from the cabins were amazing! The cabin was clean and well tended to. We loved the added touch of smores ingredients as a treat!
