Jacinth (8/5): - Very comfortable and love having the restaurant right there. Yes the bathrooms are separate but the water is hot and everything works well and it was easy to get to at night. Better shower curtains would go a long way. Also a sign for reception. It is confusing walking in and there was no one there I went in the wrong area.

Empezando por la ubicación es excelente esta cerca de todo. La cama es perfecta para un buen descanso, tanto el colchón como las almohadas se nota que son de buena calidad. Tuvimos luz en toda la semana que estuvimos allí alojados. La ducha con el agua bien caliente y con muy buena presión. El desayuno delicioso y abundante. Las comidas y las cenas están riquísimas comida local muy bien cocinadas. Las chicas y los chicos que trabajan allí son bellísimas personas siempre pendientes de que no nos faltara de nada. Hacer una mención especial a Monica siempre con una sonrisa nos preparaba unas comidas deliciosas las mejores de todo Ponta do Ouro. Sin duda volvería a repetir.

Lisa (10/5): Amazing Trip - Amazing stay! The Devocean site is a truly delightful little oasis. The tents are very comfortable, and the shared bathrooms are spotless and pleasant to use. The staff is incredibly kind, with a special mention for the breakfast, which was excellent. The location is perfect, right next to the market, and very convenient if you’re arriving by bus like I did. It’s only a 5–10 minute walk to the bottom of the village and the ocean along the main avenue. Thank you for this special journey! Nothing really, it can just be a bit noisy sometimes if your tent is close to the road, but nothing major.

Genuinely we tried prawns all over Ponta and the only one we tried a second time was from this Chef - hands down the best prawns in Ponta! I had a small issue with Palm Flies but not much the facility can do, overall this was exceptional!

Mihaela (10/5): Great place to stay in Pints do Ouro - A good first experience spending 3 nights in one of the tents with en-suite bathroom at Devocean Lodge. Sean and the rest of the staff made everything to make sure that we were happy: flexible time to serve the breakfast (late breakfast after coming back from the morning dives), delicious dinner, relaxing massage, natural treatment with aloe from the garden to treat my sun burns... Lovely garden, fresh eggs, great place to meet interesting people.

Jasmin (10/5): Absolutely amazing would definitely go back - This place was beautiful and clean. Sean and the staff were amazing and so helpful. I recommend booking the tent with its own bathroom. Which is what I did. The mosquitoes!! I was there right after a ton of rain. Sean did hook me up with bug spray which helped a lot.

The tented accommodation was so much better than I expected and I loved that there was electricity and a fan inside. The breakfast was spectacular with many options to choose from. The location was perfect, I am glad that it wasn’t on the main street because the trees blocked some of the noise. The shared toilets and shower facility were not bad at all. Would absolutely stay again!

james (7/5): Lovely people, structural problems - Most reviews mention the attentive staff and managers. Location is fine for an ‘easy walk to beach’ for a reasonable price. Because it is ‘in town’ and not near the beach. And surrounded by concrete walks, and very densely built (with more units under construction). There is no breeze at all, and you will sweat (or stew in the rainy season). The rich, dense plantings along the property paths could be a lovely detail. Instead you find yourself doing the limbo to get to your tent (or in the rain, they literally block the path). I am ‘pro planting’, but this should be addressed with radical removal to ease movement and airflow.

The way they’ve created a deep connection with nature right in the center of Ponta do Ouro is unbelievable. Staying in the tent during the rain was pure magic — so special that I’d plan another stay just to experience it again.

Silvio (9/5): good sleep, food and people embedded in a lush little garden paradise... - awesome all day breakfast included which is great for divers, coming back after 2 tank dive in the morning around lunch time. 3 minutes walk to center of village, almost everything is in walking distance. owner replies quick on requests. onsite massage is great. wifi works perfect. they serve various dishes for dinner and there is a help yourself fridge with drinks incl. beer&wine. there is enough space in the common area and besides the many tables they also have a cosy lounge. all the staff is very kind and helpful - open for your requests. we'd definitely stay with them again. they might put some mosquito nets in the rooms. and they need to put some better pictures online, the place is much more beautiful than it looks on the photos and althoug the huts are next to each other, it doesn't feel like to be squashed.

Location is great everything is in walking distance and also we felt very safe. The "tent" was comfortable and I even had my own bathroom attached to it. No mosquito nets around the bed. Once they are in the room it's difficult to get them out.

Posizione comoda per raggiungere i vari punti di interesse. Ci torneremmo volentieri! Un po’ scomodo non avere il bagno dentro la tenda (mi è capitato in altri posti) ma sul retro. Nulla di troppo problematico comunque e oltretutto era molto carino e pulito. Consiglierei di mettere una mensola per appoggiare le proprie cose, se possibile

Michaela (9/5): - Sean ist ein sehr zuvorkommender Gastgeber. Er hat mir ein Taxi organisiert, das mich vom Flughafen zum Busbahnhof gebracht hat. Sean hat immer ein offenes Ohr und viele Tipps für Ausflüge in die Umgebung. Das Zelt war zweckmäßig, aber gemütlich. Die Lage ist sehr zentral.

Ainhoa (7/5): Lo bueno el desayuno - Buena ubicación en el centro del pueblo de Ponta d’Ouro. Las tiendas de campaña son cómodas y el baño está fuera pero cerca. Lo mejor el desayuno. Estuvimos 2 de 4 días sin luz. Fue algo generalizado en todo el pueblo pero había otros establecimientos que tenían motor, no teníamos cómo cargar móvil ni cámaras ni conexión wifi. Además tampoco salía agua de la ducha con fuerza, al no tener motor, duchándonos con un hilo de agua. Esos días tampoco había café por las mañanas en el desayuno, y no tuvieron ni un detalle por estar 2 días sin luz a pesar de que éramos los únicos clientes en el hotel, nos cobraron hasta una botella de agua pequeña de 50 cent.
Anatol_the_Backpacker (9/5): Memorable experience in a tropical oasis - Big thanks to Sean and the Team for being great hosts, for friendly welcome, good organisation of the property and many tiny things which made our stay relaxed and enjoyable - from very detailed welcome messages to accommodating our needs whenever possible. We enjoyed staying in this tropical forest spot (well covered with a complimentary wifi), liked spending time in the central chalet drinking tea or sitting in a cozy library corner. Food was simple but good, apart from that, we explored several places at a walking disrance around. Accommodation was clean and kept in good order, amenities were provided. There was a BBQ (Braai) designated place where we spent some time with the family cooking. When leaving, we bought 30 fresh eggs specially made for us that morning by laying hens scratching around in 2 cages behind the reception. Busy road to the beach, which has nothing to do with the property itself, but rather a part of an overall chaos in the area during the high tourist season.

Hugo (8/5): Very well located and great staff - Sean and his team were very welcoming. It was an easy check-in, and right at the beginning, he spoke about all the amenities available on the property. It's based on an honesty system, where you can help yourself at the bar and pay for what you've taken when you set the bill. The breakfast was good. We had eggs Benedict, and they were prepared as we requested. Devocean is very well located, within walking distance to the main hotspots of Ponta D'Ouro. Because it's located on one of the principal streets of Ponta D'Ouro, you might hear the quadbikes from time to time. In a busier time of the year it can be a problem, if you're looking to sleep in.
Daniel (9/5): Great value for money with an excellent location - Great value for money. Sean and Liz are wonderful and the food is amazing. Look no further for an affordable yet comfortable stay in Ponta de Ouro. It gets a bit cold at night.

Libby (9/5): Well located tropical tenting with awesome food! - It was a lovely little tropical paradise with the tents arranged in an oval among the trees and gardens with little pathways. The ablutions were clean and the gardens and walk ways were well maintained. The breakfast and supper was fantastic and personally tailored. Well done to the cooks! It had a nice lounge and dining area where we interacted with other guests. Staff were very friendly and helpful as was the owner Shaun. The bed was comfy and the tent was secure in the heavy downpour. The location is good as once at the property everything can be accessed on foot including the beach, markets and restaurants. it would be nice to have a clearer sign outside the property and a sign indicating where to go in to reception. I would like to suggest a lock on the gate. Lots of mosquitos
Schalk (10/5): WHAT A SURPRISING TREAT!!! - We LOVED everything! We lived in our own little mini jungle! Starting when entering the premises after a looooooong drive, feeling quite "out of it" and extremely tired ... a wonderful smell met us, coming from the kitchen side ... it was the lovely Requel who was busy preparing meals for the guests. She is truly a star, going to the market every morning to buy FRESH ingredients or the meals ... I don't think they freeze anything, for all the meals we had, was freshly prepared. Then we met Shaun, the owner and the host ... a warm welcome indeed. We immediately helped ourselves to some drinks and started to "check out" our accommodation. I am picky with regards to a bed and with my back-challenges, I prefer a nice solid bed ... which it was! I was sooooo glad for that set the tone for my holiday ... and if I don't sleep well, everything else is a problem. THANK YOU FOR THE VERY, VERY FIRM BED ... I really appreciated that. I had a relaxing message as well, at the property. The rest of the staff were all so very friendly and accommodating. Even the other guests were approachable and we made lots of new friends. So very glad and grateful to everyone at this venue ... I highly recommend it! I had to think long and hard, and I had to dig quite deep .... maybe there can be a small dustbin in the tents.

Marc (10/5): It was fantastic and I would stay there again. - The breakfast was amazing there are different options. A short walk from the beach and very safe as it is right next to the police station. The rooms are beautiful and there is ample shade from the trees. A private fridge in the tent would be nice, but I think they have them in the chalets.

Robyn (8/5): Green oasis - A heavenly green oasis of cool and calm on a hot day. Loved the family vibe of the place. The staff are just lovely - and extremely good cooks! Lots of info about the area provided when booking. Close to almost everything in Ponta. The mosquitoes!! Could have done with somewhere to hang wet beach towels etc. In the rain The cottage got a bit damp and dank.
