Guest Reviews
- Debora (10/5): Geweldig! - Prachtig gelegen locatie met smaakvol ingerichte kamers. Zeer schoon!
- Lynne (9/5): Our second stay at The Farmhouse Inn; we will return in the future. - Beautiful, peaceful rural setting. Comfortable, well-appointed rooms. A variety of indoor and outdoor gathering areas available -- would be a great spot for a family get-together. Friendly, helpful hosts.

- Susan (10/5): Getaway weekend with my husband in a quiet peaceful place. - The property and surroundings were just beautiful and peaceful. The owner was so friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again and recommend this property to anyone. The breakfast served was so wonderful and more than expected. There honestly was not anything that we didn't like. I don't know what more you could ask for at this wonderful place. Everything was just as described in the listing.

Calme après Nashville Rien

- Kevin (3/5): Nothing burger. - Breakfast was good, but facility was overhyped. We never got our luggage to our room. They put us on second floor. There was only an old man to help us and he couldn’t carry the luggage up the stairs. There was no elevator. difficult night would not come again. All the windows were sealed because they were painting the barn. The room is in a barn upstairs. Have there been a fire, I don’t know how we would’ve escaped whether everything sealed shut.
Room was very very small maybe 12 x 12.👎

The breakfast was phenomenal and delicious. The farm is also very close to Madison Ga which is a lovely town to visit. Nothing. It was perfect for us.
- J. (9/5): Perfect! - De locatie, de omgeving en het ontbijt. —
- Maryna (10/5): Fantastic experience - It’s amazing property. Great nature, animals walking around, tasty breakfast. It’s a really fine B&b , would return in a heartbeat.
- Eric (9/5): - Great staff that made us feel very welcome. The setting is fantastic and we loved the animals. They went a step above and allowed us to get our breakfast to go because we needed to leave early. Thank you.
- 465lewisd (4/5): Summer Camp Review - It's been a long time since we stayed at a B&B, so we might not be the best to critique The Farmhouse Inn, Madison GA.
However, I am going to share our experience with you.
First prior to our arrival we tried to reach the Farmhouse for 10 consecutive days by phone calls, emails and also text messaging but never heard back from them.
Concerned about their well-being I called the Sheriff's office to have them do a wellness check.
We then learned that the owners were abroad and would be coming home on Monday 2 days before our arrival.
That was a definite clue.
Upon arrival we walked into the reception area and there was no one to check us into our room. One of their guests in that area was kind enough to fetch the innkeeper.
We found out that on Wednesday we were the only ones at the Inn.
After 4PM my wife and I were the only ones on the premises.
We had ordered a charcuterie board for $35.00 to be placed in our room before arriving.
It was expertly prepared and delicious.
We unpacked and went into the town to explore Madison and had a lovely afternoon.
Dinner that night at Town 220 was off the charts.
In the morning, we found remaining items from the previous guests.
"Good job cleaning the room before we arrived."
We mentioned to the person that we thought was cleaning the rooms, that there were personal belongings from the previous guests in our room.
The next day we got up, showered and went for a fabulous breakfast served by Walter.
We then went to Lake Oconee and had a fabulous day sightseeing.
Came back to shower and get dressed and found that items previously left were gone (located in the bathroom) but the towels on the floor were still there along with dirty dishes and used coffee cups.
We had to go down and ask for new towels and we kept those hanging up for the rest of our stay.
Spending $250.00 per night for 3 nights we did not think we had to clean up for ourselves. As per the title of our review "Summer Camp" that's what it felt like.
We will not return or recommend.
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional - I will definitely stay 2 nights next time!!
- Gary (9/5): Very nice stay, would go again - The breakfast was wonderful, Walter was very helpful and a creative chef. The location was very restful and beautiful. The first night we were there a peacock decided to roost in a tree outside our room and squawked all night. Our second night we were able to dissuade the peacock from that tree and were able to sleep comfortably
- Christopher (10/5): Awesome! We will be back! - Walter was very friendly and nice in the breakfast room. Just walking around the area was awesome with all the animals around. We loved everything about the Farmhouse, especially the peacefulness! Also, that our dog could be there with us.
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Imre (10/5): Relaxing - The place was very peaceful, breakfast was delicious. The room was lovely and bed was comfortable. I think you do need a longer stay to fully appreciate all it has to offer, but saying that it’s also a great stopping points if like us your travelling around.
The coffee was great as well and my husband enjoyed the cookies. As silly as this sounds I thought the small milk bottle was a lovely touch. Nothing
- Gilbert (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful property with great staff!
- Van (10/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be back! - The welcome cookie was awesome! I would love to have Grandma’s recipe! Breakfast and “To go” breakfast were delicious! Nothing
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alicia (10/5): Perfect cozy relaxing stay on a cute farm. - This place was perfect. I loved everything about it will definitely be returning!! Nothing!
- Judy (8/5): Good time - Beautiful setting Stairs
- Franklin (10/5): Exceptional - A magnificent farm!
- Tara (9/5): Beautiful location. Love the farm animals. Love that our dog could stay with us in cottage. - Breakfast was delicious Everything was perfect during our stay
- Lynda (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful property; friendly, helpful staff.
- Ashby (10/5): This rustic and charming spot is a must stay in Georgia. I will be back to thins place. - I really enjoyed the peaceful nature of the property. It was relaxing and felt like home. I can not say anything negative as it was absolutely perfect!
- James (10/5): Quiet, country stopover on the outskirts of lovely Madison - Very comfortable. Quiet, unique setting: loved the blossoming trees, the chickens and the peacocks!
Charcuterie Board and breakfast was exceptional.
- MPB477 (10/5): Get away... - My mother passed on Valentine's, and my husband took me out of town, we arrived, and we fell instantly in love with the farm. We own a farm, so we felt at home! The room was like a hallmark movie, the bed was comfy, and the room was filled with plenty of snacks and drinks. The walking trail was great, the animals were great! The food was beyond amazing, fresh eggs, fresh fruit, and the best cheddar and apple scones. Not to mention their honey, wow!! Would definitely stay here again!!!
- vanessab5881 (10/5): Perfect getaway for family or couple! - The farmhouse inn is such a gem- 10/10! Our trip could not have been better. We stayed in the cottage for two nights. The cottage is so cute and in a prime location! It also was immaculate and smelled amazing. The beds and sheets are very comfortable. Bathroom products were very nice as well. The walls are a little thin- but they have a sound machine in each bedroom so that solved that potential issue. Breakfast was delicious and they even brought it to the cottage for us. The owners are very involved and kind, as are the employees (and the animals!). Our two year old was obsessed with the rope swing. We brought carrots and apples for the animals and they were a hit. The trails and ponds were well maintained. Do not have a single bad thing to say about this place. We are already planning our next visit!
- Stacy (10/5): Breakfast was amazing. Bed was super comfortable. - Enjoyed being on the farm.
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - We wanted to take time to rest and we liked that it was quiet! Breakfast was excellent, and the property is beautiful! We will be back in the Spring! ⚘️ No negatives!
- Sarah (10/5): Perfect all the way around - Loved the farm animals
- Alycia (9/5): Excceeded our expectations, we will plan another visit! - Breakfast were good and the Thanksgiving meal feast was excellent, kydos to Chef Walter! Immediate attention to small details was given, no complaints
- Theodore (10/5): Farmstay Heaven! - This place checked all our boxes and then some. Comfy bed (king sized), check. Good wifi, check. Good-sized bathtub, check (even had a bar to help older folk get in -- which my bum knee appreciated). Clean, check. Loved the rustic aesthetic of the place.
But it's the extras that really pushed the Farmhouse Inn into exceptional territory. The breakfast was fantabulous! We had what they called a "fritata" (I thought they had to have potatoes baked with the eggs, but here, eggs on the side). Super tasty. A really nice TV, not a cheap one. And a white noise machine -- a really good one. I'm a light sleeper, so I appreciated that. In fact, I ordered one because I slept the best I have in months. AND they have animals: peafowl, chickens, horses, a wild-looking goat, a friendly and fuzzy white dog. AND there are nature trails for you to walk about on the Hundred Acre Farm. This would be a great place to take kids for the weekend. Or a great getaway for a romantic weekend.
But here's the kicker: we stayed there for the same price the soulless corporate hotels charge. True, it's further from downtown Madison and the highway, but this was soooooo worth the trip.
I'd never heard of farmstays; I guess it's the American version of the Italian agroturismo. So glad we have places like this. Please stay there and keep these fine folks in business. There's not anything, really. The only flaw that comes to mind was that there was a nightlight in the bathroom that didn't work. Great idea, though. Oh, and I did feel a little disappointed to find out that it wasn't *really* a repurposed barn. It was built specifically to house guests...in 1996 (I think). So the "Hay Loft" room we stayed in wasn't ever a working hay loft. *sigh*
Still, this place is special. Do not miss it.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Larry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donna (10/5): Just what my friend and I needed ! - Everything ! I want to go back ! Perfect spot !
- Diana (9/5): Family friendly, country farm, and excellent breakfast - Usually, the animals are out, but unfortunately, unfortunately with the storm, I did not see them till the next day. Breakfast is always excellent
- Joshua (10/5): This place is perfect for someone looking for a peaceful retreat. - Blown away how peaceful this stay was... We only booked 2 days but once there, we tried to stay longer but they didn't have availability. The entire property was perfect. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We hope to visit again soon for a much longer stay. Nothing, it was perfect.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sansa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alison (10/5): The best night of our 6 week trip around America - Peace and tranquility

- Norman (10/5): Relaxing farm house style - Absolutely gorgeous property filled with farm animals, chickens, peacocks and ducks. So fun! Nothing I didn't like
- Florida222 (10/5): Highly recommend. - We absolutely loved our stay at The Farmhouse Inn. We stayed with our pup in the cottage which was so spacious and comfortable. Beautiful views over the farm and wonderful trails down to the lake. Delicious breakfast. Nearby Madison is so pretty and we loved walking around the historic district.
Highly recommend and hope to stay for longer another time.
- Susan (10/5): 11 stars on a scale if 10 is the highest. Bravo! - The property is gorgeous, the animals are delightful, the accommodations are crisp, clean yet comforting and the fresh, homemade breakfast is delectable.
My friends and I were amazed by the complimentary snacks & beverages provided in each room. There were homemade miniature lava cake muffins, local fresh ground coffee, fresh cream in the little fridge which was stocked with ice chilled water and a variety of cokes. Oh and some packages name brand snacks too. The owner Leslie is hands on, personable and cooked our breakfast.
The Farmhouse Inn get 11 stars on a scale of 10. The only thing I didn’t like about the property - was leaving.
- OhioHeadinsouth (10/5): Why would anyone stay at a hotel? - Why would anyone stay at a hotel? This place is wonderful. We stayed in the Americana room - lovely, rustic looking room with natural wood floors and the most modern bathroom we've ever seen. Owners are on premises all day. Welcomed us and showed us around and gave us the run of the place. The animals were fun to watch. The peacocks were putting on a special show that day! Breakfast was one of the best I have ever had anywhere. Farm fresh eggs in a fluffy omelet, homemade sausage patties and amazing banana pancakes. And it was included in the room price!
Do yourself a favor and stay here next time.
- Stacy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (10/5): Lovely property, staff, and experience! - The grounds were beautiful. The rooms were well appointed. Breakfast was amazing and beds were so comfortable!
- Laurie (8/5): Very good - Thoroughly enjoyed the quiet location and farm atmosphere. The farm to table breakfast was delicious. The chef was very friendly. The peacocks made a bit of a mess on the porches.
- Mathilde (10/5): Was just the greatest. Breakfast was amazing. - Loved everything. So peaceful and beautiful.
The animals were a plus Not a thing
- Curiosity21428311214 (10/5): Spectacular B&B - This is the most incredible place! We drive from Florida to the Farmhouse Inn for a long family weekend once a year. Our 4 young children love running free, feeding the animals, playing games, hiking, and boat rides. The farm house is clean, spacious, comfortable, and luxurious. The owners are great hosts, anticipating our every need and taking extra time with our little ones. Every morning we were served a wonderful breakfast. We look forward to this trip every year and I have already booked our stay for next year.
- M2256JFcindyn (10/5): Just what we needed! - What find! This was just the escape we needed. Such a lovely property with peacocks, chickens, ducks, horses and a goat and donkey. We enjoyed getting out in nature exploring the gardens, pond and river. Leslie and Jim are the best hosts and breakfast chef!
- stevenaP5733FB (10/5): Just the place for a quiet getaway. - 3rd visit here, this time for a weekend, in the later spring. These innkeepers are the best! Went above and beyond for us. The garden just gets more and more wonderful. This time we got fruit and feed for the horses, burro, and goat. Even the animals are nice to the guests. The peacocks put on quite the show of showing off their plumage.
- Chris (9/5): Upscale rustic with gourmet breakfast. - Spacious, quiet, beautiful sunsets. Nothing
- Joann (10/5): The breakfast was sumptuous…the best of our trip. Our room was state of the art. We were so surprised to find this unexp - The property is absolutely beautiful, the pastoral setting is so relaxing! No negatives at all!
- Ashley (10/5): Great people and accommodations! - Clean, comfortable, close to town, very quiet and relaxing Nothing
- Peter (9/5): Superb - Great atmosphere. Very relaxing and pastoral. The staff was very accommodating.
Breakfast is outstanding. NA
- Inspire4564 (10/5): Beyond expectations! Can't wait for a return visit. Stayed 4 days; would have stayed longer if I could have. - The experience exceeded all expectations. The scenery, the service, the accommodations, and the food; OUTSTANDING!
- E. (10/5): Awesome - The room and surroundings were great. Very relaxing and the sunset views are wonderful. Everyday the full breakfasts were different and delicious. Staff was helpful and friendly. A wonderful place to stay Nothing
- C (7/5): More suited to a longer stay - We didn't get to experience the extensive grounds and fishing lakes as this was an overnight stop
The grounds were well maintained and scenic
Breakfast was very good We were expecting a more personal stay with owners but it was just a number of rooms on the farm complex with breakfast served in dining hall
- William (10/5): Very good! -
- Nicholas (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): I loved it so much: the views, the amenities, bed and food are just fantastic! - It was like a slice of American Heaven. The peace, the views, the nature trails, the people and the food. Walters’s warm personality matches his talent in the kitchen. Our welcome muffins in the room were such a beautiful touch and come to find out they were gluten-free, I could do a U-turn and go back for more right now. We originally booked three nights and enjoyed ourselves so much, we added an extra night. I enjoyed the seeing the garden, the old chapel and seeing all the beautiful country touches around this very well kept Inn. The owners Leslie and Jim are very friendly and Accommodating. I enjoyed Summer very much as well, she served us breakfast a few of the days. We stayed in the orchard loft, I’d love to come back and stay in the Inn for a family reunion in the future. We enjoyed having a bonfire all to ourselves in the middle of that beautiful yard overlooking the barns with the chickens, and the horses and the goat. I will never forget those beautiful peacocks, they gave me a thrill at night, squawking in the trees coming back from dinner, great memories. A beautiful place with beautiful people. Loves all the nature trails, around the pond and through a meadow, just so beautiful. It could be a little closer to my house. It’s over nine hours away, but it’s worth the ride.
- Z773ULleeh (10/5): Wonderful - My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Farmhouse Inn. We arrived Friday afternoon and spent the weekend. Leslie was a most gracious host. She welcomed us when we arrived, gave us a rundown on the best restaurants in Madison, and personally checked to see that everything was ship-shape with our room (the Orchard Loft).
The room was wonderful, it had a nice view of the garden / orchard, a fully-stocked mini-fridge, and was only one flight of stairs up from the dining room. The construction of the farmhouse is first-rate (doors are hung well, stairs don’t creak, etc). WiFi worked perfectly. It had the most comfortable bed ever.
Breakfast was wonderful. Fresh eggs from their layers, healthy sides, and each morning a different delicious pastry.
The property is situated in a really peaceful setting (we didn’t hear any road noise) about 6 miles from Madison proper. It includes a working farm that is about 250 yards from the farm house and cottages (you had to work hard to hear the roosters crow) that connects to 3 or 4 other properties. This offers multiple walking trails that range up to 2-1/2 miles. They have a stocked pond for fishing, a couple of horses, a donkey and a goat. They also have a number of ducks, chickens, and peacocks, and we had a blast feeding them all.
All-in-all, it was a perfect place for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary. And yes, we will come back.
- Betty (9/5): Wonderful - Breakfast was excellent, host outstanding, location beautiful. I felt at home, welcomed, relaxed. Would love to return. Not a thing.
- Cate (10/5): Stunning Accommodation - This place was STUNNING and just what I needed. Superb accommodation, wonderful people in an outstanding, queit setting. All finished with a super breakfast. Well worth the visit.
- Meander16296930478 (10/5): Adorable, Lovely, Delicious....Can't Wait to Return! - From comfy beds, to Lavender soap, to fresh milk and delicious banana bread when we checked in, my family's experience at The Farmhouse Inn was idyllic and enchanting. The countryside is beautiful and the manager Leslie is lovely and helpful. The local sourced made from scratch breakfast made us a huge fan of anything Walter the chef would make and it was included! The Hillside cottage was picturesque, ample, and perfect for us, our dog and new puppy. The pups even raved about the doggy treats and meeting Mudpie the resident dog. Even the short time we spent with the roosters, chickens, peacocks, goat. horses, and donkey wasn't enough. The whole family even enjoyed the Holiday decorations and appreciated the entire experience. The only drawback was we didn't get to spend enough time exploring, hiking, or even visiting the chapel, so we are planning our next trip!

- carliel2024 (10/5): The Place To Relax - We stayed at one of the cottages with our children and dog. We had such a relaxing and purposeful time. There are trails to walk on and discover, horses to pet and feed, and a wonderful breakfast to consume!
- William (10/5): Would highly recommend. - Breakfast was great. Bed was super comfortable. Very quiet and peaceful. A little bit pricey
- Ken (10/5): True farm setting with natural beauty and fresh organic breakfast! - Owner thought of every detail; pure clean water in the fridge, nice snacks, fresh coffee in the morning in the room and pure cream with coffee if desired. Owner made breakfast for me earlier than usual as I had an appointment in the morning, so, that was above and beyond. Ver quiet evening! No dislikes.
- Edmund (10/5): Lived up to our friend's description! - Beautiful grounds. Delicious breakfast. Owner met us when we came in late. Sweet lady. Bed very comfortable. Nice size room. Can't think of a thing.
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional -

- stevenaP5733FB (10/5): Comfort, Quiet, Quaint - 2nd visit here and certainly not the last! Great walks on the farm, great guest rooms, and unparalleled breakfasts. Mid-week visits have been so special, as the place is so quiet. The garden is so amazing.
- Smith (10/5): It was cozy and delicious! - Everything was divine. The breakfast was the bomb!! We rented the house and it was so nice. The beds and the bedding were the best. We are looking forward to returning soon. I can't think of one thing that could have been any better.

- Anne (10/5): Charming, quiet and welcoming. We’d stay there again. - Quiet, friendly owners, beautiful setting, very clean, excellent breakfast. There were lots of animals to watch, places to hike or sit outside on the terrace. The location is not far from a main road and Madison is a charming town 5 miles away that is worth exploring. The price is of good value, but more than we usually pay for an over night.
- Katrin (10/5): too nice to just stay one night - nice surroundings, very friendly staff, confortable, excellent breakfast. nothing
- racinglasers (10/5): A Hidden Gem - Oh my what a wonderful place. I know it’s not near anything but is a good midway stopping spot when traveling past Atlanta.
Clean, comfy, the farm setting is so fun.
Great breakfast included ….. highly recommend!
- susandoshier (10/5): Wonderful Stay at the Farm! - Our family of 6 just returned from the most relaxing stay at the Farm. Our adult children are all allergic to gluten and dairy so I was a little concerned about breakfast, but the chef, who went to culinary school in Atlanta cooked up delicious breakfasts every morning that they could eat and even brought snacks over to our farmhouse. Everything was fresh and from the farm, from the eggs to the honey to the pecans.
Our accommodations were spotless, bed was so comfy I wanted to bring the mattress home with me! The animals were so fun. Nothing like watching chickens run for cover in a rainstorm!
Leslie has done a great job bringing love and life into an old farmhouse. The most relaxing trip we have had in a very long time. The town of Madison was absolutely charming, the entire town is on the National Register of Historic Places. Lots of pre Civil War homes. Great restaurants and boutiques. So glad we stayed at The Farmhouse!
