We enjoyed the area, and the many dining options. The gelato shop by the river (around the corner) was great.

The room has just the basics: a bed, an AC unit, a TV, and a very small bathroom. It's a place to sleep for the night, nothing more. It's not fancy or aesthetically pleasing, just functional for a short stay."

Frederíca made sure it was special for us with a sweet note & bottle of wine as well as recommendations for sightseeing. Plus our room had a beautiful view of the river and city. The room itself was large, nicely decorated and very clean. I would love to come back another time & recommend to others!

We were able to get a late checkout and they even stowed our luggage temporarily until we were able to check-in at our next destination.

• David (8/5): - Very good location.Walkable to everything. Felt like we rented an apartment. Safe even though located on a busy street between restaurants. We were given a key to open the front door another for the gate inside the front door, another for the door to the apartment suite then another for the actual apartment door. Breakfast was not included but there was a cute cafe which was inexpensive and very good a couple of doors down. We had breakfast in there every morning and the owner remembered our name after the first day. The room was spacious and had basic amenities. The bathroom was okay size just no room to get ready in the morning in the bathroom. Definitely had to create a space to hold my things in the room while I got ready. Large comfy bed. Nice after walking all day. Would stay again.

• Elizabeth (10/5): - The hotel isn’t difficult to find as long as you have a map, and it’s within a reasonable walking distance from the train station. There’s a small sign outside indicating the front door. I don’t recall any communication prior about the system for entering, but it seemed that I wasn’t the only one confused. A small group of us arrived around the same time and we were all poking the door and looking around until one person buzzed up. They opened the door remotely—it opens on its own, but very slowly—and then the gate will also unlock at the same time. Now that you’re inside the gate, there’s an elevator. It can hold two people or one person bags. The hotel is on the third floor (that’s the fourth floor if you’re American) and there might also be another locked door here. Don’t worry—you will receive keys to let you in all of these places. The reception area has places to sit, and I also saw a lot of baggage sitting around here, waiting for owners who had checked in or out. My room was up another flight of very tiny, narrow, winding stairs. It was clean and tidy, with coffee and tea and water and toiletries. There was a mini fridge, kettle, espresso pod machine and a safe. The shower was narrow, speaking as a fairly small person, and the bed was firm (which I like). The TV remote didn’t respond well, so I gave up on that. Other than the remote, my only real complaint is that the walls are thin. Your neighbors WILL hear your conversations. Other than that, it was great.

Since this is a resident hotel, we need to keep in touch with the hotel to have somebody open the door for us. No big deal though. The building and room looks aged by actually quite cozy. We had the suite one but there is value for price. We face the river and the surroundings is quiet. If you don’t lock the windows, the street starts get busy around 8am. We needed to leave at 6am and the hotel helped us call a taxi (bus in Florence is not trivial). EXCELLENT service! Room is comfortable too.

• Verified traveler (8/5): a solid 7/10 - This hotel was nice, but nothing extraordinary. The bed was not comfortable at all, and the bathroom was so tiny it was hard to use. The service was good, with everyone at the desk very nice. But it’s annoying that no one can check in until after 2pm, especially when other hotels let you do so. It was also pretty loud with a lot of bars lining this street and thin walls. Wasn’t a big issue for us, but could be for others.

Comfortable, firm beds with crisp sheets. The biggest suite that our friends stayed in (king bed + twins) was huge and had murals on the ceilings, which was an unforgettable highlight. Only downside was the wifi reception, which was a bit sketchy. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Florence.

Some noisy guests with children, but the hotel cannot be blamed for that. Very secure. Will definitely stay again if in Florence.

The location is great also. We comfortably walked everywhere during our visit (about 20 mins to the Academia and Uffizi). Distance from the train station is also walkable or just a short, affordable taxi ride.

The room was pretty but bathroom needed repairs, as the shower was rusted and could no longer switch back and forth from handheld to fixed shower heads. Also, the sink was coming away from the wall. Location was excellent and a short walk from train station, rental cars, and all the main activities of interest. Overall, our experience was fine because we were on our honeymoon and these were all little thing that didn’t really matter, but we definitely won’t stay here again if we ever come back to Florence.

• ronald (8/5): Nice place with a few improvements needed. - The stay was very nice. It was in a quieter part of town so that was great. Also there were small spots to eat off the beaten path which was amazing. If we didnt stay here we wouldn't have found them. The service in general was great, was always greeted with a smiling face. That was great! The only improvements that I would recommend is improving the quality of the furniture and some how sound proofing the room. We could literally hear everything around us. I know it sounds not picky but at one point we could hear conversations in the room next to us and then a baby crying from another room. Not a deal breaker but def take into account. As for the furniture, it was just very low grade. Table had a terrible wobble. Our room door would only shut if you slammed it, which isnt terrible until you go to catch the sunrise over the city but your wife stays behind, then you have to slam the door coming back in. Was actually a little funny. But on a serious note, we realized our door didnt latch a few times... like anyone could have just pushed it open. Overall I would recommend this place to stay. We loved the location! Also the staff was so friendly and helpful.

The rooms are very clean, cozy and decorated with great attention to detail and fine taste: beautiful! the location is great! 10 minutes walking from Ponte Vecchio, and near to the river, great restaurants and coffee houses in the neighborhood. Receptionists are wonderful kind people that care for you a lot and want to genuinely make sure that your stay is going to be perfect!

Away from all the hassle of the tourist area but only a 10 min walk from the main attractions. • Verified traveler (10/5): Highly recommended especially for the price - Downsides: difficulty in checking in after 7pm -- due to communication difficulties I waited outside the building for half an hour, which is not that big a deal given that it's a safe area. It was hot and damp in Florence and a window in the hallway was open, so a mosquito got into my room. Everything else was great, especially for the price. Gorgeous building, very up-to-date and large rooms with comfortable bedding and towels. Big bathrooms with rain shower plus handheld showerhead option. Strong wifi and air-conditioning, cool location (by a high-end Japanese restaurant and whisky bar) that's not overrun with tourists, minibar considerately supplied with still and sparkling water. I've been to Florence 4 times, 3 in the past few years for work, and this was the best place I've stayed so far. Will definitely be back next year if I can get a similarly good price.

• Stuart (10/5): Smart hotel in great location! - Great location for exploring Florence - just across the River Arno from the city centre, 10 minutes walk from the main train station, 5 minutes from Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi etc. The local area was lovely with lots of choice for eating and drinking. Room was very smart and modern with good air conditioning and view towards the city. The girls running the hotel were excellent and extremely helpful during our stay. Would definitely stay again.

Very convenient location on the less touristic side of the Arno which was also fantastic for all the great restaurants nearby. The rooms were very clean and staff very friendly and helpful. It wasn’t an issue that reception closed at 7pm or what some previous posts said about the ‘small’ lift. Everything went very well and it was so comfortable. We would definitely choose to come back and stay here when we are next in Florence.

Just outside of the city centre but so close and near to all the local's hot spots for bars and restaurants. The staff were very helpful and quick to act when something broke in our bathroom. Very pleased with out stay!
• Verified traveler (10/5): Super-comfortable hotel in the heart of Florence - La Torre del Cestello is brilliantly situated for those who are in Florence to explore the city's delights. Really friendly and helpful staff, all the mod-cons and a comfortable bed to snooze away in after charging around the city all day. Lots of lovely cafes, bars etc close by, including one of the best gelaterias in the city literally just around the corner. They'll also book tickets for you to various popular attractions like the Uffizi.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - Hotel location is on the other side, but still a 10-15 min walk to the main tourist spots. Quiet, clean, and very comfortable. We got a free upgrade and the room was incredibly spacious with the view of the Arno. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I would 100% stay here the next time we're back.

• Shashi (10/5): Great location, friendly staff and spotless room! - Overall, La Torre Del Cestello ticked all our boxes: - Location was great, as it's a short walk to most of the main attractions (between 10-20 mins depending) and also has a good bar scene in the evening if you're interested - Service/Staff were amazing; happy to help with any questions we had about the city and gave useful tips about where to eat to get local food (which happened to be only a 5 minute walk from La Torre Del Cestello!). Also, when they found out it was our 1 year anniversary, threw in a lovely bottle of bubbly for us :) - Room (we opted for the triple) was a great size with a lovely double shower, and was spotless!

• Elizabeth (10/5): - Hotel staff was fantastic and welcoming! The area has easy access for walking around the city. Night life around the hotel was lively while the room was removed enough for quiet sleep. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Florence.
• Joel (8/5): Florence B&B, without the breakfast - Note that there is no one to let you in if you arrive later than 7:00 pm. We had to call a night manager to let us into the building. Once we were in, we had a lovely stay. The building itself is a little bit scary - dark, no clear identifiers, itty bitty elevator - but once into the facility (located on the third floor of a very old building), it is clean and modern.
• Kirsten (10/5): Stylish and convenient stay in Florence - Great location and lovely modern & stylish room, although the bathroom was tiny and not practical for drying yourself and getting dressed in (we booked the standard double room). The safe in wardrobe wasn't bolted down. Very comfortable bed, nice big screen TV and aircon was a great relief after a day out in the heat. Good wifi and staff very pleasant. We would definitely stay there again (and book a suite!) and would be happy to recommend it to our friends as comfortable, clean, convenient and good value for money.
• Serena (10/5): Hidden gem - When we first arrived we thought we were going to be Dracula's next victim. The 18 foot wooden door that is the entrance of the building is then followed by a 12 foot black iron gate that leads to a small courtyard that is lit by the opening in the ceiling. After squishing ourselves into the small Italian elevator with two luggage bags we were pleasantly surprised to find this gem. The room was very modern, spacious, with tall ceilings, updated appliances and sleek furniture, and had an AMAZING view of the river. The location was great because it's very quiet, but if you walk one block over there are tons of restaurants and small shops. My favorite thing to do was to watch the sunrise from our window.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Stuck in elevator - Hotel room was nice, clean and comfortable. Did not use the room safe because it was removable. Proximity to everything was good. Only major problem was getting trapped in the elevator for over a 30 minutes until we were able to break free...
• Marilyn (10/5): Great hotel with Arno view - We loved this hotel (I found it through a B&B site but they don't serve breakfast). The hostesses were both extremely helpful with concierge services. We could ask them anything and they knew the answer or looked it up quickly.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful room with Bizarre timing - Hello, We were surprised that a B&B didn't offer breakfast but that is our bad for not reading properly. The lobby is only open from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. after that if you have an emergency you have to call the night watchman who will be there in 10 minutes. There is, however, no phone in the room so if you don't have a local package on your cell phone, this could be very tricky. The room we booked was large, clean and comfortable. The area is a ten- fifteen minute walk from the heart of the historical center of Florence. The area is quiet and accessible without being dull. The staff was very helpful but I do hope they plan to incorporate a little breakfast and round the clock service. The lobby is on the third floor accessible by stairs and a very narrow elevator. I would not recommend packing a large suitcase or booking if narrow spaces aren't accessible for you.
