Diane (10/5): A remarkable place to stay in Mendocino - This place is great. Walking distance to town with many restaurants and hikes. National parks are a 5-10 minute drive. The Inn was clean and the rooms were updated. We loved the morning hot and cold breakfast delivered every morning in a picnic basket. The happy hour with cheese and wine was excellent, especially the cheese and cookies. We stayed in the Blue Door Inn as they have a few other properties. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Parking was plentiful. We would recommend this place to others and stay again. If you are not okay with stairs, ask for a room on the first floor.
Lori (10/5): Beautiful place to stay while in Mendocino! - Breakfast delivered to our room was a very nice touch, the bed was very comfortable, and the whole place was very quiet, peaceful, and beautifully decorated.
Lela (10/5): My stay was short and sweet. - Breakfast was a nice and light delivered to your room. The location was great two blocks from the bluffs over looking the ocean and not far from coffee shops, restaurants , galleries and book stores. Check in is at 4 at a different location where you are offered wine and refreshments if you so desire. Not much not to like here. I guess if I was to grumble after a long 4 hours drive, I arrived at my location and was redirected by a note in the window at the JD house that I needed to collect my key at another location. I had a hard time finding this place but with a little help from a kind person on the street who was able to point me in the right direction all was well.

Debora (10/5): The perfect place in a perfect town! Mendocino was and still is my favorite place in CA! - We had a lovely stay for three nights. The hospitality was excellent. They serve a wine and charcuterie happy hour from 4-5, and delicious breakfasts were brought to our door each morning between 8:30 and 9. We requested a ground floor room and they were able to accommodate us with that request when we first booked. The communication was excellent throughout our stay. Will definitely look for 4 Sisters Inns in other cities! Everything was great.

Patricia (8/5): Charming step back in time. - Charming old house. We had the Captain Room (202) which had a huge balcony looking out to sea and opposite the First mate (201) room. Great breakfasts delivered to rooms in baskets. Good location, walking distance to stores and restaurants. Steep stairs to rooms (reminded me of old house I grew up in on East Coast). Bed in 201 very low to ground. Small showers.

Julia (10/5): Lovely inn for a lovely weekend getaway - Centrally located, friendly and helpful staff. The house and rooms were lovely and the delivered breakfast in a picnic basket was the cherry on top. They wasn't anything we didn't like about the property.

Kerry (9/5): A lovely, comfortable historic in a great location in charming Mendocino - It was a lovely house in great condition with comfy beds and great water pressure in the nicely appointed shower! The provided soap and shampoo are lovely. It’s close to restaurants, shops & galleries and the Mendocino Headlands State Park. Definitely go for a stroll or to take pictures at the Headlands if the weather is on your side. Loved the bookshop in town & Trattoria Luna. There is a beautiful sitting room, dining room and living room you have access to on the ground floor of the Packard House. Make sure to go through their pre-registration process on the phone. There are also limited hours for check in which was at a different inn than where we were staying. So if you prefer less contact with staff it may be for you. We had limited wifi while traveling there and failed to note dietary preference for breakfast in the pre -survey which was our fault, but we were not asked about it at check in. Since your breakfast is delivered in a basket to your door in the am, you don’t have any other opportunity to communicate about it and since my traveling companion couldn’t eat most of it since she’s a vegetarian with dairy sensitivity it was a bit of a lost opportunity because the offerings were nice. ( Don’t make our mistake) Also we didn’t realize our inn didn’t have ice or a hot water kettle available and missed the window to request it from the main inn which was a few blocks away and only had reception open for a specific window. I also didn’t see that they had a fridge in the living room on the 1st floor for guest use. ( Please note that in the binder or more clearly) I wish there would have been a hot water kettle in the room or the common area to make tea since the morning and evening were chilly. There was only a pod coffee maker in the room, but neither I or my traveling companion are coffee drinkers.

Grace (10/5): Quiet room - We enjoyed our stay! The room was very cozy, quiet, and private. For breakfast, we had a baked oatmeal one day and quiche the other. Each day we also had a baked good, coffee, and orange juice. They easily accommodated my dietary restriction. The food was very good. Staff was also very friendly. Perfect experience! Nothing!

We were moved to a different house but it was a perfect setup for two couples…terrific save on innkeepers part. We had breakfast in the JD house in a quaint dining room.
Peter (9/5): Great location - really nice space with deck and sitting room - definitely recommend. - Really pretty Inn with great location. It was a plus to have a separate deck, sitting room, and bedroom - and breakfast delivered daily to the deck was delicious. Afternoon wine and cheese served at the main Inn just a few minutes walk away. Perfect location for walking to explore the town and the park. The rooms have nice fluffy robes (which we used at night when it got cool). No counter space to put anything down in the bathroom.

Schon ziemlich beengt. Wenig Privatsphäre. Exponierte Lage. Kein Ausblick. Das Haupthaus mit Küche und wunderschönem Garten stand theoretisch zur Verfügung, praktisch nutzt man es aber nicht, wenn man im Nebenhaus wohnt. Dafür war es dann doch etwas zu teuer…

Max (9/5): The village itself was the primary reason for being there; the inn was a pleasant adjunct to our time there. - Very thin walls allow conversations in other rooms to disturb. Aside from some incomplete landscaping in front, the house is remarkably well appointed and comfortable.
Toni (2/5): Just a number - The room was tight but comfortable, we should have taken more photos of the room, but we didn’t think about it. Blue doors made us feel like just a number, while a true B&B makes you feel special. Our room was in an annex to the main house, that seemed like several rooms put together, with no personal touch. The room was tight but comfortable. Furniture was Ikea style with very little room to accommodate our things. The coffee maker, for example, was placed on one of the narrow shelves of the wardrobe and the frigobar was put directly on the floor, so our clothes were mixed in with the coffee supplies, it was crapped and messy. They should put a built in closet, with a separate shelf to all the coffee stuff and a shelf below to hold the frigobar. Breakfast was served in the room at a time convenient for the blue doors inn, but not for the guests, it’s served very late, between 8:00-9:30. We ended up going out to breakfast the first day and on the last day when we left at 8:45 and the breakfast had still not arrived.
Paul (8/5): Very comfortable B&B in a great Mendocino setting - Lovely cottagey feel to the property, and a good comfy room with plenty of space. Loved the outdoor deck at the rear of the property. Perfect for breakfast on a sunny day. Breakfasts ( delivered to our door) were really delicious The B&B lacked a little personality. It didn't have quite the charm of its sister property. Didn't appreciate until we got there that it didn't have a reception area or anyone on site. It thus felt a little anonymous and neglected in comparison to the main site...

Tary (8/5): - The property was beautiful, the room was decorated simply and tastefully, and the bed was very comfortable. It was also well located to town. I gave this place three stars because it was advertised as a B&B. My past B&B experiences include breakfast around a communal table, talking with guests and the property owners. But this had none of that. Breakfast was delivered in a picnic basket. I didn’t really see any guests or managers. It felt like Covid 2020. Had I known this, I definitely would’ve picked a different place. That being said, it really was a beautiful location. It was the experience that was lacking.

Carrasquilla (7/5): - Mendocino is beautiful. Our room felt confining with no fresh air circulation. The only windows did not have screens and were facing the street. With drapes open , no privacy.
Janice (9/5): Comfortable accommodations in a very quiet Inn. - The breakfasts were very good. The room was inviting and very clean. The Inn was very quiet. There was at least one other couple in the Inn and we never heard them. There was a TV in the room, but only 1 chair. We had to get another chair from the dining room. The bathtub is a soaker tub, but getting in and out was scary at our age. Grab bars are not really attractive but are needed. Coffee was delivered with breakfast, but we don’t drink coffee. We like tea but tea was not offered nor was it in our room, only coffee pods.
Paul (10/5): - We had a lovely stay in a charming old Victorian B&B. The staff was great, the room was large and comfortable. They bring a wonderful breakfast to your room each morning, and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend The Inns of Mendocino....they have 3 properties.
Stan (7/5): Could be so much better. - The bed was excellent and the location very good, as was the delivered breakfast. Need smaller chairs and a decent sized table for breakfast. There was a large dining table in the common areas downstairs but guests were not encouraged to use it. ☹️Shower was tiny and bedside lighting inadequate. Not enough plug-ins for electronics.
Billie (7/5): small room in a quaint, clean B&B. Would stay again in a different room. - Quaint, clean B & B. Good location. Staff was very responsive. Room was small. In our room the shower in the room next door was right against our head and very loud when used and unfortunately used both nights after 11 am.

Gabino (10/5): Mendocino Stay - The B&B at Inns of Mendocino was outstanding. Quirky stand-alone room built like a water tower as part of JD House. Location was walking distance to shopping, restaurants and art studios.
Daisy (10/5): - I loved staying at the Inn. The breakfast was the best part, plus the location and decor. The only minor issue was that the none of the windows in the tower opened so the room was musty. Otherwise, everything was great.

Norman (10/5): Nice bedroom an historic old house. Quiet, nice breakfast. - This was a nicely appointed upstairs bedroom in an historic old house. The bedroom across the hall had another tenant. The bed was nice, the building was quiet and the rear garden was beautiful and peaceful. A warm breakfast was dropped off at the door, a nice touch. The mini fridge was downstairs.

Benoit (9/5): Quaint and delightful stay - Only issue I had was it is not friendly for elderly as too many steps to climb and steep especially if you have to take the luggage up… the place is so lovely that you do forget the aches and pains once in your room and space! Jan (10/5): - This was a beautiful BnB…perfect to come to after a day of driving. In the morning, a little breakfast tote was left by our door—coffee, juice, scone, muesli, and a breakfast burrito. So cute and very tasty. Easy to walk to restaurants and shops. The bluffs nearby were a treat to walk. We would definitely stay here again!

Ray (8/5): - Nice room including the absolute best shower ever experienced in a hotel or inn stay. The staff were great and very helpful. Breakfast was individually delivered to our room. Nice! Parking was free but some what limited on site. Only downside and the reason for four stars instead of five were the pillows the did not provide the support I have become accustomed to at home. Definitely would stay here again.

Albert (7/5): Good - Location, garden setting, able to sit on deck and see ocean, nice fireplace Bed is too low, a porcelain sink ONLY with no counter space is inconvienient, the entryway shelving doesn't work--there's a small refrigerator next to that where we had to move the coffee maker there to be our set-up (@ 2 feet off the floor). Was not utilitarian user-friendly. That was the big, glaring problem. A better space to hang up closes besides one long hook would be nice.

The location is perfect, as we were able to walk to any restaurant, shop or the beach. They also deivered a nice breakfast basket each morning.

Robert (10/5): - Lovely suite, crazy comfortable bed! The only thing is that there’s a huge “soaking tub.” It’s actually a tub with jets that bubble, but the jets have been turned off because there was too much noise. So, this is just a big waste of water if someone uses it. It seems a big waste of space, and the space could be used for something better. A closet, perhaps, or an area for shelving - there’s no where to put clothes.

They moved us to new property and figured how to have us use patio stairs with good railing. To kind of them👍the bed was great! The bathroom and tv were fine☺️ I hate to complain but breakfast wasn’t good but there are so many great restaurants👍

We should have mentioned it again the day they brought us a regular breakfast but we forgot. The "fireplace" was a lame gas burner under fake logs that barely had any flame. Staff told us it doesn't get any better. Really shouldn't be advertised as a "fireplace" TV is outdated and unable to link to streaming services. Only provides local channels.

Firemonkey (9/5): Solo or romantic hideaway - The wine and cheese hour was wonderful. I liked the Chardonnay, the olives and cheese. I got a little tipsy. The Inn is one of four. I stayed at the Blue Door Inn. My room was comfortable and the breakfast was outside my door in a basket. I loved the fireplace in my room. I opened the window and could hear the waves in the distance. I will definitely stay there again. I also enjoyed the Vichy shower and soap. The mattress needs to be flipped over.
Nancy (10/5): Great place to stay! - Our place was down the street from the main house. We loved having breakfast (in a basket) brought to our room each day and eating on the back porch with a distant view of the ocean. We enjoyed our room and the staff was great. Each night there had a happy hour at the main house with wine, fruit, cheeses and crackers. It was delightful.

Jane (9/5): Superb - I loved the breakfast served to me instead of having to go down and get dressed. They didn't provide a coffee cup so I had to go down anyway. Perhaps just leaving some cups in the room? That way you don't have to remember to put one in Especially liked the happy hour- had a lot of fun talking to the guests and it was very nice food etc nothing !
