Guest Reviews
- francis (10/5): - Amazing
- Rhonda (10/5): Highly recommend Simcoe Suites - Simcoe Suites is a lovely spot that we would recommend to anyone visiting the Niagara area. Location is great, place is spotless, and host was lovely.
- Alexsandra (10/5): - Katherine, the owner, is lovely, helpful, engaging and provides a delicious breakfast in her beautiful home
- Kristopher (10/5): Super amazing B&B - Amazing stay. Perfect location to access Port Dalhousie by foot. Was able to park my vehicle and see everything while walking.
Great room. Super clean and well maintained. The couple that run the property were super helpful before arriving and provided beyond excellent service during our stay.
- Mike (10/5): - Terrific bed and breakfast with a wonderful host and fantastic breakfast. I have sung praises of this B&B to all of my friends and relations. The host is very helpful with tips of what to see and do in the "Niagara on the lake" region. We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back some day.
- Mike (10/5): - Easy walking access to restaurants, harbour beaches and parks. In a beautiful area. Excellent breakfast. Excellent host
- Pascal (10/5): Formidable - Katherine nous a très bien accueillis . Maison très agréable , chambrées confortables , petit déjeuner de rêve préparé par Katherine
- mike (10/5): Wonderful B&B - Simcoe Suites is the kind of B&B that makes you not want to leave and when you do you feel like you are leaving a friend. Katherine is a wonderful hostess. The rooms are spotlessly clean, the breakfasts are wonderful, and the neighborhood is charming. There are several good restaurants within a short walk and the falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake are a few minute drive. We loved it.
- Beate (10/5): Wonderful hosts and beautiful B&B - My friend and I stayed for two nights. We experienced a very warm welcome although we arrived very late. Beautiful and perfectly clean house and rooms, but the best was the breakfast - freshly cooked and warm AND so delicious. We got lots of useful tipps and advice for our stay in the area from the lovely hosts - thank you so much!
- Marc (10/5): The Best Little B&B In Ontario! - We spent two nights at the Simcoe On the Henley B&B. The proprietors Kathleen & Jack were very friendly and open and interesting folks to sit and visit with. Kathleen's breakfasts were superb in both the quality of the meals and their elegant presentation.
Kathleen took the time to give us maps, directions and even coupons to local businesses in St Catherine's and recommended several local wineries in and around the Lake Niagara region. We spent considerable time talking to a fascinating Dutch family who were also guests at the same time, over a leisurely breakfast.
Kathleen's welcoming manner and outgoing personality made this visit very memorable to us.
We would recommend the Simcoe Suites B&B to anyone traveling near the Niagara region.
Deservedly 5 - Star rating!

- Christine (10/5): - Katherine is a very upbeat, welcoming host.
She sat with her guests during the scrumptious breakfast she thoughtfully prepared, using local ingredients. Fine china was used and brought the experience up to the highest standards. She sat and joined us for breakfast, making a point to get to know our plans for the day. She gave suggestions we would not otherwise have known about. Very knowledgeable in the area and region.
Felt very taken care!!! Very much recommended if in the area or looking for a getaway.
- Art (10/5): - Katherine and her husband, Jack, were wonderful hosts. The place was everything you could ever want in a bed and breakfast and they really went the extra mile to make sure our stay was comfortable. The breakfasts, made with local fresh ingredients were beyond delicious and Katherine's knowledge of the area and great suggestions made our short vacation extraordinary. We will definitely be back!
- Carolin (10/5): Stay here! - This is a hidden gem in walking distance to downtown Port Dalhousie. The owner - Katherine - is the secret ingredient that makes this place so special. From beautifully customized breakfasts to sightseeing and dining recommendations in and around town, she makes every effort to make your visit as memorable and amazing as possible. The rooms and common areas are clean and comfortable ...like a home away from your own. Don’t look anywhere else, stay here! You won’t regret it! We cannot wait to come back!
- Janice (10/5): Didn’t want to get out of bed! - Katherine and Jack are fantastic hosts. They have all the inside info on where to go, where to park, local history and current activities. The location is perfect- just a couple streets from the beach and close to some great restaurants. The house and rooms are immaculate, with a “welcome home” kind of ambience. The minute I slipped between the sheets, I knew I wouldn’t want to leave them- but Katherine’s breakfasts are worth getting up for! Can’t wait to return..
- Verified traveler (10/5): - My wife and I have stayed at some very nice B&Bs, but none were as home-like as Simcoe Suites. Breakfasts were very good and the room was very nice, but Katherine made the stay special. We were only there a few days, but after a day of sight seeing, it felt like we were coming home. Katherine would sit with everyone at breakfast and ask what we planned for the day and then would offer suggestions to make our adventure easier or more pleasurable. The highest praise I can give is that Simcoe Suites felt like home.
- Zygmunt (10/5): Great B&B experience on Niagara Peninsula - Nice quiet area, comfortable room, and first and foremost an owner who cares. Good place for a weekend getaway or a short vacation visit with easy access to Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake or other locations on the peninsula.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely! - More than a night's rest! Your hosts are warm-hearted and very kind people, who aim to please you. Our room was beautiful and very clean. You are invited to use the living room and dining room as you would your own and you will be served a most delicious breakfast that will fill you up for the day! The home is located in a lovely spot in Port Dalhousie.
- Craig (10/5): An exceptional and delightful treasure - Our stay at Simcoe Suites far exceeded our expectations. We were wanting to stay at a intimate, cozy, comfortable, welcoming, beautiful , quiet, and friendly B and B and found this and much more at the Simcoe Suites. Everything was so clean and beautifully decorated. It was easy to relax there. Katherine made such wonderful breakfasts and helped us with every detail that we needed to know about how to make our days enjoyable as we traveled around the area. It was hard to leave on our last day as we wanted to experience more days in this delightful jewel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Had a wonderful experience! Very clean and the hosts are very friendl and welcoming. As other guests have said the breakfast is exceptional. Would definitely stay again.
- Cheryl (10/5): Relaxing stay! - I enjoyed a fantastic weekend thanks to our hosts! The bed was so comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious!
Katherine was very helpful in giving maps, lunch and restaurant tips and coupons fior nearby attractions. This B & B is perfect for visiting many places like wineries, Niagara Falls and Niagara-On-The-Lake by car.
The B& B is quaint, clean and quiet.
I found plenty to do in the immediate area!
There is a television in the common area but not in the room. This was not an issue with me since I prefer to read before bed. The internet connection was great. I recommend staying here and exploring the region. The area is beautiful!
- Chris (10/5): Lovely B&B near the water in a very nice area - Just a wonderful stay. Located in a very nice community close to restaurants and with the water so close you can glimpse views of it while having morning coffee on the porch. Very friendly and accommodating.
- Nick (10/5): Fabulous weekend, - Awesome stay. Gourmet breakfast, clean, attention to details, couldn't of asked for better. Katherine and Jack were great hosts and made you feel at home and very knowledgable about the area.
- Tasha (10/5): - Hospitality could not be better. I would come back here to stay again.
Place was comfortable , great hostess and wonderful breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful host - The host was super nice and made us feel like part of her family. She went through lots of effort to make us amazing breakfasts. The room and house are spotless and comfy. We would definitely go back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This B&B was very nice. This character house was older of course but kept up really well. The breakfast was very good and overall we had a very good experience. I'd def recommend staying here.
- Not Provided (10/5): - Catherine was very accommodating and very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay there and really felt "home away from home". Her breakfast was fantastic!! We would go back there again for sure. Thank you so much Catherine for welcoming us.

- Illia (10/5): AMAZING - Great stay at a lovely house. You feel welcome at the whole time and it is very comfortable. The owner is just AMAZING and it is a pleasure to stay there. I will definitely come back one day and can just say: If you ever have the chance, you have to stay there!!!!!!!!!
Thanks once again for the fabulous stay.
- Conor (10/5): A very friendly and pleasant stay - My fiancee and I stayed here overnight and had a wonderful experience. The room was clean and comfortable, and there were several options for restaurants nearby. Katherine, the owner, was very helpful and friendly, and provided us with a delicious and healthy breakfast the next morning. We would definitely stay here again.
- Ken (10/5): Best stay ever! - Great host! Friendly and welcoming and also considerate of those times when a person just wants to sit and read. Cozy living room and delicious breakfasts. The house is in a nice neighbourhood far enough away from shopping to be quiet, yet close enough to be convenient. Great choice for restaurants within a few blocks! This is, hands down, the best place I have stayed at in a very long while. I will definitely be back!
- David (10/5): Amazing B&B - Wonderful B&B it was so nice that we decided to add on an extra night. Hospitality was top the best you will ever find.
- Jim (10/5): An AMAZING find!! - As we pulled in the driveway to this Craftsman style home from 1921, we were pleasantly greeted by our hosts, Katherine and Jack, whom made us feel like we had been friends for years and totally made us feel at home. Their pictures do NOT do their home any justice at all. This place is just exquisite, from all the old style wood work down to the antique furniture. The whole place was extremely comfortable and peaceful. The next morning brought on some very pleasant conversations with a nice couple from Scotland and our host Kathrine, over a pot of coffee and tea. She cooked a breakfast (6 stars) from what she bought the local farm the day before, just to ensure everything was fresh, and she catered to everyone's dietary needs with out question. It was extremely amazing! As we were getting ready to leave on our motorcycle, for a tour thru the region on the way home, Kathrine gave us a map with some coupons and showed us a very nice scenic route to take, with some great local shops and wineries along the way. We really wished we were staying more than just one night.
- Philip (10/5): Unexpected delight! - Catherine is the host with the most! She is welcoming, a bounty of information, and creates an ambience that immediately puts people at ease. The room itself is well-appointed and very comfortable. The adjacent bathroom served our needs perfectly. The meals are above and beyond the call of a b&b entrepreneur - local produce and carefully thought-out menus are the norm. We stayed three nights and would have enjoyed staying more.
The b&b is located in Port Dalhousie, which for us was ideal in getting to points east, west, and south, with Niagara-on-the-Lake, Niagara Falls, and the wine country to the east within a half-hour drive.
Catherine supplied us with maps, vouchers, suggestions, and provided "ins" to the best places to park at the Falls, and where to eat in the region, and much more.
We came for a restful vacation and we left feeling like stayed with a friend.
Hospitality is in the details, and Catherine knows her business, and makes sure that she looks after her guests.
Highly recommended!
- angie (10/5): It's not about the bed - Our stay was wonderful and satisfying mostly on account of Katherine, our host. She not only made us feel at home but anything we wanted, she accommodated. A wealth of information on the area for any interest.
The physical location couldn't have been handier with a peasant walk to beaches, town and restaurants.
- Sue and Mark (10/5): Lovely B&B close to beach - We really enjoyed our stay at Simcoe Suites on the Henley. The hosts Katherine and Jack were very welcoming and super nice. Katherine was very helpful giving us directions and ideas where to visit, and her breakfasts are out of this world. it was one of our favorite breakfasts we've had at a B&B and we've been to many! The house is beautiful, clean and very well-maintained. We stayed in the Banbury suite, which was very cozy and had a great shower! Great location. Extremely short walk to beach, 5 cent carousel, shops and restaurants. Short drive to wineries and antique shops. Also not too far from outlet mall, regular shopping mall and movie theater. We would definitely stay again! The hosts really make experience special.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Local aconchegante, limpo, decoração de bom gosto, - Local excelente' acomodação excelente, tratamento excelente, café da manhã excekente
- Verified traveler (8/5): OK - It was good for one night
- Caterina (10/5): Beautiful B&B only minutes to Niagara-on-the-Lake! - Absolutely wonderful B&B - beyond our expectations!
Katherine & Jack are the most gracious hosts and really went above and beyond to make our experience memorable!
Breakfast was delicious, we particularly enjoyed the strawberry rhubarb crumble!
The accommodations were modern, clean and extremely comfortable!
Just minutes drive to Niagara-on-the-Lake, the Port Dalhousie district is a hidden gem. Only a short walk from the B&B to park, waterfront and marina!
Highly recommended to anyone needing accommodations in St Catharines, or near Niagara / Niagara-on-the-Lake.
- Stephen (10/5): Fabulous breakfasts / central location - Three nights in area to visit family in Niagara area. Breakfasts were delicious Walking distance to restaurants in Port Dalhousie
Lovely hostess
- David A (10/5): Great Hostess - Owner is enthusiastic and puts much energy into taking care of her guests.
- Teodor (10/5): Lovely suite in a beautiful location - The interior decoration is a visual delight to behold, with antiques, paintings, comfy furniture and stained glass windows. The host was cheerful, pleasant and very helpful with suggestions of what to see in the area. Everything in the room was clean and orderly. The bathroom looked brand new. Internet access worked perfectly. The breakfast was delicious and very nourishing.
- Jen (10/5): Perfect Getaway - My husband and I stayed here, as we were in town for a wedding. Katherine greeted us at the door, and was so inviting and friendly! She made us feel right at home, right away. The entire home, including our room, was beautiful, and clean, and full of charm and character. Our bed was INCREDIBLY comfortable, and we slept soundly!
Our breakfast was delicious. Homemade, and baked to perfection, we had blueberry stuffed french toast, served with peameal bacon, and locally sourced fruits. I'd also like to note, that upon finding out that my husband doesn't eat pork, Katherine found some turkey peameal to serve with his breakfast! It was a special touch that made the breakfast that much more enjoyable (she doesn't know it, but peameal bacon is the one pork product that he misses most. So having that option was very thoughtful, and appreciated!)
Katherine was also very knowledgeable about the things to do, and places to go in the area. She had up-to-the-minute information, and had some great options for her guests.
I would definitely recommend that people stay here.
- cynthia (10/5): Excellent Place to Stay! - My friend and I had our first b&b experience at Simcoe Suites and absolutely loved it! Katherine saw to every detail to make our trip as pleasant and hassle free as possible. Even providing lactose free fare for my friend. The rooms are cozy and clean as a whistle. Katherine provided extraordinary breakfasts that she even scheduled around us sleeping in after a late night out on the town. If you're headed to the Niagara area, Simcoe Suites is the place to stay!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great home close to lake - Enjoyed my first stay in a bed and breakfast!! The owner is friendly and knowledgeable about all things local in closing a historic carousel at the beaching only moments away!
My room was clean and comfortable, the home was warm and welcoming. I sat on the front porch when I returned from a wedding and caught up on texts and e-mails in a lively rocking chair.
Breakfast was delicious!!
- Don (10/5): Despite rainy cool weekend, we experienced warmth! - We had a most enjoyable stay with Katherine who was most accommodating to culinary requirements, as well as being a wealth of knowledge regarding local events, shopping, restaurants and the wineries in the region.
Room was quite comfortable and nicely appointed. "Common spaces" were also quite comfortable and spacious. Breakfasts provided were creative, sumptuous and featured local produce. Definitely exceeded expectations.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - One of the best experience! Great location, friendly staff
- Anne (10/5): - This was an amazing find. Catherine was a wonderful hostess and chef. She also is very knowledgeable about the area and had great suggestions on what to do and where to go. We will definitely plan to return for another visit .
- Robert (10/5): A warm welcome - The owner was very helpful and provided information and discount coupons for local attractions. The property is very well maintained and convenient for travel to Niagara on the Lake. We enjoyed the entire experience and would recommend it for friends and family.
