• Peter (8/5): - Super staff. Great spot in central Paris, we walked to the left bank and up to Montmartre. Historically located inside one of the “Passages” Could use in-room coffee vs. the trip to the lobby
• Lana (8/5): - Nice hotel, but room needs some upgrades. Bathroom was nice, a lot of towels. The area around hotel is super convenient and safe. Staff was very nice , friendly with exception of one person.
• Grant (8/5): - Charming stay at a traditional hotel The staff were wonderful and very helpful, Clarinet the cat - who I suspect is the real Maitre d'hotel - frequently welcomed us at reception, which was delightful. As a warning, the hotel is not really accessible. Many stairs and steps before you reach the elevator, which will be difficult for those with limited mobility or unwieldy luggage. Our room was small and quite hot and humid. No air con in the room, but a fan kept the air moving. Bathroom was good. The whole property is from a bygone age, which will delight some and frustrate others. The decor is a little tired. Location is good, very close to the Metro and plenty of good restaurant options within a few minutes (if you like Asian cuisine, the Brigade du Tigre is wonderful and a short walk away). We didn't have breakfast.

The bathroom was ok with a fab view over the rooftops of Paris but the handheld shower was awkward. The location is good. The staff are helpful and friendly. I enjoyed staying here. A true local.

• Roger (10/5): - We were very happy at Hôtel Chopin for our first trip to Paris! The room was cozy and clean, and fit our needs: somewhere simple, clean, and safe to sleep for a fair price. The front desk staff were all pleasant, polite, and helpful. Breakfast was also very good (continental, so nothing cooked, but the croissants were amazing). The entrance is down Passage Jouffroy, which was very fun to walk down each day! (Passage Jouffroy is secured at night - use the buzzer by the gate to call the front desk if after 9:00pm.) It is less than half a block to the Grands Boulevards Metro station (follow signs to Musée Grévin) which made it convenient to everywhere in Paris. There are also many restaurants and cafés within an easy walk, and we felt safe on the street, even late at night. The room did not have air conditioning, (nowhere in Paris does), but they provided a fan, and the room cross-ventilated nicely so it was cool enough to sleep at night. We would stay here again.

• Debra (10/5): Love this little Gem! - This is a lovely little hotel in one of the historic Paris passages. It is wonderfully located for all the major attractions of Paris. The hotel is comfortable and kept very clean. The staff were all unfailingly cordial and helpful - especially when my misplaced glasses needed to be shipped home to me. Oh, and Clarinette the hotel cat kept us all in line!

J’ai dû changer de chambre mais cela a été rapide et dans une chambre parfaite. Je recommande cet hôtel dans lequel je viens régulièrement depuis plus de 10ans.

• Nicolas (10/5): - Cet hôtel est très charmant. Situé au fond de la galerie Jouffroy. On a l'impression de pouvoir entrer dans un "book nook". Si vous êtes matinal vous pourrez rencontrer Clarinette, le chat noir mystérieux qui habite les lieux. Comme beaucoup de touristes, j'ai visité beaucoup d'endroits lors de mon séjour, mais c'est celui-ci que j'ai préféré.

• Ann-Marie (10/5): - Loved the old style charm of the hotel and our windows opened to a nice view of Paris rooftops. Basic room but had everything we needed. Front desk supplied hairdryer and kettle on request. Our room had a fridge which was a bonus. Easy area to walk and Metro very close by. Only issue are the stairs from the front desk are a bit tricky with luggage and the lift is very small. Loads of places to eat - would definately stay again!

• Anete (6/5): - Although the receptionist explained that the hotel would be locked after 21.30, she didn’t make it clear that there was no direct access at all. There needs to be a small card or guide which is issued to every guest as they arrive which explains that, after 21.30 the whole boulevard is chained and locked and that you have to walk right around the block to find the entry gate and even then you have to press the buzzer and wait for access. Finding yourself locked out of your hotel is not what you need after a long and tiring day!

• David (8/5): - This is a lovely boutique hotel, reasonably priced in a trendy area with lots of restaurant options. Handicap access has some challenges with several stairs to get to elevator. Also the entrance to the bathroom was a little tight... Probably my size not the hotel's fault.
• Miki (8/5): - メトロの駅から近く、オペラ座にも二駅くらいで行けるので便利でした。かなり古い建物の中にあるので、エレベーターが受付からではなく、重いスーツケースを持って階段を10段ほどあがらないと行けないのが大変でしたが、部屋は水回りも含めてリノベされており清潔で快適でした。 ドライヤーが備えてなかったのですが、受付に言ったら快く貸し出ししてくれました。 日本のビジネスホテルのようなスリッパや歯ブラシ、パジャマ、ウォシュレットはありませんが、それは仕方がないかと。　 前半の一泊めは狭くて湯船もない部屋でしたが、後半の二泊は広くて湯船もある部屋で良かったです。シャワー室に照明がなかったのは謎でした…。 パサージュの中にあるので夜はとても静かですし、パサージュ内にビストロ、スーパー、パン屋さんやお土産屋さんもあって便利です。 隣のグレヴァン美術館は大人気みたいで、おかげで夜遅くなっても人出が多くパサージュの扉も空いていたので安心感がありました。タクシーの運転手にも美術館の場所をいえば、伝わりやすいと思います。 受付の方も優しくて、また泊まりたいなと思いました。

People with accessibility issues would need to steer clear—steps to front door, inside lobby, even up to the tiny elevator that is not big enough for a wheelchair! However, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, the breakfast (10 euro extra per day) was delicious, and the whole area was charming. Easy access to two metro lines and many places to eat. We had a back room without a view (except top of the passageway and roofs) but that made it super quiet!

My room had bedroom and bathroom windows that opened to the roof tops of Paris and the glass roof of the Passage Jouffroy that glowed pink at night; such a great view! I didn't pay for hotel breakfast as there are plenty of cafes and restaurants outside the door and in the neighborhood offering a variety of cultures of food. Close to bus lines or 20 minute walk to Gare du Nord central train station. I am older solo female and felt safe in hotel neighborhood but always careful around any central train station for pick pockets, etc

Hotel is down a beautiful passageway which means a good quiet nights sleep too.

The hotel itself its in Jouffrey passage with independent coffee shops and gifts stores etc so there is a lot to do. Its right in the centre with Gare du Nord being a short taxi ride away. The room was clean and had everything that was needed for a basic stay. Small hotel, but great value for money.

The bathroom had been remodeled, but we couldn’t even stand up in shower due to the dormer. Breakfast was ok with fresh squeezed orange juice. Room 413 is an abomination.

Front desk should have explained about after hour closing of the alleyway. Got stuck outside and had hard time getting back to the Hotel. A bit scary, especially when your tired after a long day. Otherwise nice Hotel.

Avec le fauve de service : Clarinette, une chatte noire adorable qui se promène d’étage en étage, c’est elle la gardienne des lieux. Séjour de 2 nuits, que nous ne regrettons pas, nous venons de trouver le pied à terre idéal pour un séjour de 3 à 4 jours à Paris. Merci pour l'accueil à la réception. À très bientôt.

Would benefit from a little maintenance in shower so head doesn't need holding. Would be a quick fix and make it much easier to use. Otherwise loved it!!! Lovely bars and restaurants right near by. Close to metro. Comfy.

Staff were fantastic. Room good although hot. Electric fan but didn’t help in excessive heat. Bathroom no fan which I thought odd. Bathroom small. Shower needs larger shelve for toiletries. No hairdryer in room. Needs redecorating and modernising. Decorators were onsite decorating public areas. Overall a great location to key attractions with very good staff. Refurbishment and sorting out proper air con would improve my ratings

• Phoebe (8/5): Great neighborhood, quaint historic hotel - The Hotel Chopin is a charming, historic hotel at the end of an indoor passage full of shops and a restaurant. The location is GREAT for exploring Paris on foot, taking the metro, etc. The neighborhood around the hotel is full of shops, cafes, and amazing restaurants. There is always a lot of activity near by. We loved the area, and we always felt very safe there (especially since the passageway is gated & locked at night, and you have to be buzzed in). The room itself was TINY, and very hot (we were on the top floor). There is no AC (it's an old building!) and we were there during a heat wave. We requested 2 twin beds since we were friends (not a couple) traveling together. However, the room is so small, the beds were pushed together so it was like one bed. This may be uncomfortable for some. The bathroom did not have a shower. Just a tub, with a moveable spray handle for washing hair. It was not possible to shower standing up due to the length of the sprayer and the slanted roof. We made this work (for 14 nights!). But I can see how this would be challenging for some. Again, this is a historic hotel. There is a tiny lift (elevator), but you have to access it by stairs first. If you are on the 4th floor, there will be some more stairs after the lift. Consider this if you have mobility issues. It worked for us, and was only a little challenging at check in/check out when we had to haul all our luggage up and down some stairs. The staff is helpful and kind.

If you want clean and well maintained, but quant with tiny elevators, half flight stairs everywhere, pets in the lobby, located on internal pedestrian passage (mall), etc. than this is the place. Not cheap but what in Paris is.

• Verified traveler (4/5): - This hotel is in a very urban area, it is very close to public transportation and the staff is very polite. However you are at the end of a mall, there are no green spaces around and there was construction going on while we were there. The rooms are very small, you have to carry your luggage up two flights of stairs just to get to the elevator. There is no air conditioning though you are provided with a small fan, which was not helpful during the heat wave.

• Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel is very close to the Metro, down a short pedestrian walkway. Charming older building only 2 or 3 stops from the Louvre. Some rooms don't have air conditioning, but have multiple windows.

• Patricia (8/5): Quaint and full of character - I would describe Hotel Chopin as quaint with friendly and helpful staff. We had a room on 3rd floor overlooking the rooftops and it was, for me, a wonderful view. The room was very small, not much space to walk comfortably round the bed but that is to be expected from hotels in Paris. The bathroom was airy and light but we had a deep bathtub with a shower overhead. I prefer a walk in shower as it is difficult to get in and out of the bath. The hotel is in one of the "passages", which fascinate me with their eclectic mix of shops, and it also meant that we were unaware of the street noise, which can be overwhelming at night. Breakfast, at 10€ was lovely, especially the freshly squeezed orange juice. There was plenty of choice and I found it good value. Great central location for those who don't like using the metro as lots of tourist sights are within walking distance. Grands Boulevards metro station is also practically on the doorstep. Lots of restaurants and cafés nearby, including Le Chartier, which must be on every tourist's list of places to eat, just for the experience. A good place to stay, reasonably priced for the location. I would be happy to stay there again.
