Guest Reviews
- Suzanne (10/5): - I was really delighted with my room; it was simple but clean & had everything I needed. Wifi signal very good. Ceiling fan nice & strong. I was able to upgrade to a room with its own bathroom for a very reasonable fee. Location is excellent - central but quiet at night. Staff are incredibly helpful, kind people and a great source of local knowledge. Although neither stopped me enjoying my stay, I if I could wish for a slightly softer mattress and a later curfew, I would. That said, I slept very well, and not much happens after 10:30pm in Erkulanum anyway.
- Sher Khan Ibrahim (1/5): - This property shud not be on booking.com
Bullshit reviews of hotel manager
He is a fraud and con man
Scamming people

- Aida (10/5): - За свою цену адекватное предложение. Аскетично и просто. Очень дружелюбный и отзывчивый администратор. Помог по всем вопросам. Чувствуется забота

- Mukund (9/5): - All good All good
- nadine (8/5): - La gentillesse du personnel toujours pres a rendre service .Le petit tchai du matin et son emplacement proche du métro de la gare et des ferry pour fort Kochi Rien

- Jannie (9/5): - Value for money. For the price the room is good. Friendly people in the reception. Chai in the morning. Good location, walking distance to train, bus and the ferry.
- pinfield (9/5): - I had a lovely stay at St Anthony's . It us in an excellent location and you really feel you are in India . Very near to the market and many restaurants. A minute walk to a very large supermarket and 15 minute walk to ferries to Fort Cochin . It is budget but clean and everything works and great value . The highlight are the staff who were so friendly , and helpfull. From morning hot drink to booking onward tickets and places to visit . Thank you . Next time i am in Cochi i will definately stay at St Anthony's. Also no mosquitos and i felt very safe in the area whatever time of day or evening.. Everything was really good .
- Dorde (9/5): A good stay - I would recommend this place. The immediate location is a little sketchy and dark at night but otherwise completely safe and easy to find. Green market and night shopping street are nearby as well as public buses, metro stop, railway stations and ferries to Fort Cochi. Room with ensuite bathroom and ceiling fan is basic but it works. The whole place is a little run down but this is reflected in the price. You get a room for the price of a dorm bed in Fort Kochi. Boats from Fort Kochi to nearby Ernakulam jetty run till 21.50 (15 mins, 6 rupees). To High Court until 20.00 (25 mins, 40 rupees, AC e-boat)
What made this place worthwhile for me is attentiveness of receptionist (Rafi) who arranged for me a night direct train ticket for Gokarna only two days in advance. With all different probability percentages for confirmation of Indian train tickets it really helps to have someone experienced, patient and with good English by your side. Overall felt good there and would come back.

- william (10/5): - I love how simple and calm this place is. The location can't be any better. Right in the center of Ernakulam market and few steps from the nice long path by the sea 🙏🏼🥰 I truly recommend this place for budget traveler who dont need a big fancy room with A/C. Little holes in the mosquitoes nets
- Glen Fobelets (8/5): Superfriendly staff 🇮🇳🙏 - - The staff is superfriendly and go above and beyond to help their guests. I got a lot of tips (e.g. places to visit during the Onam festival). They even booked a train ticket to Calicut for me.
- It's located near the vegetable market in Ernakulam, Kochi. The boat jetty is closeby, too.
- There's free chai in the morning.
- There are many restaurants nearby.
- The room is basic, but the price is very democratic, ergo: a great price value.
- Txosep (8/5): Cumple - Buena relación precio/calidad y estaba cerca del metro RG Road

- Pramkumar (10/5): Exceptional - I recently had the pleasure of staying at Anthony Lodge in Ernakulam, and I must say it was a truly satisfying experience. The stay was comfortable, clean, and absolutely worth the price. In terms of value for money, it exceeded expectations — the amenities and overall service quality are far better than what you'd typically find at this price point.
What truly stood out was the hospitality of the staff. Every member of the team was polite, courteous, and always ready to help with a smile. Their friendly and welcoming nature made the stay even more enjoyable. Whether it was assistance with local information or small requests during the stay, they handled everything promptly and professionally.
I sincerely appreciate the efforts of the entire team at Anthony Lodge and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a budget-friendly yet quality stay in Ernakulam. Looking forward to visiting again! Nothing to say that I don't like, value for what I paid, superb
- Wayne67 (8/5): Very good value for money. - This accommodation is in a great location right next to the markets and only a stroll to the ferry. Raphael who runs the place is a lovely man who is very helpful with anything you need and nothing is too much trouble. It's simple accommodation but clean.
- Kanji (9/5): Location is also good - The owner was very kind and gave us a tour of the city every day.
- Tom (9/5): Superb -
- Seban (1/5): Bad - Nothing They are always reject booking through your app
- Prakash (1/5): Bad -
- Dev (9/5): Superb - The staffs were so polite. Customer satisfaction seems to be their top priority unlike others. Old buildings & rooms, but anyway it didn't affected my stay.
- L (10/5): Exceptional - The place was really clean, the owners are very kind which is very important especially when you just come after very long travel. Very clean and slept very comfortably and peacefully at the property. External doors close at 11pm which is great there are no people walking around during the night time. Felt very safe for a solo female traveller. In the room there was an electric mosquito repellent so great, very peaceful sleep. I will definitely book again when in Kochin but I might ask for a room with an external window. The room I stayed in had an interior window so no natural light and a local family who lives in front was pretty loud but it was cool and very good to sleep in.
- Shyam (10/5): Exceptional - I stayed in this lodge lot's of time. In one word best value for your money
- K.s (7/5): It was good stay for me... - Nearby saravana hotel was there. Good was nearby...Market nearby... My room given was not good as the door had gap and others can see what's happening inside the room through the gap... This was not expected. Came to know only while I was vacating my room. So bad of staff who didn't repair this issue.... Management should take quick action...
- Kiran (1/5): Bad - No break fast and no hotels near Inform the owner to sell that property
- Sabu (6/5): Pleasant -
- Pulpally (3/5): Poor - Price is comfortable Mosquito 🦟🦗
- Ida (9/5): Very good - Super friendly and helpful staff. Free chai tea in the morning. Perfect location, easy to get around everywhere. All in all very comfortable and good stay, highly recommend. -
- Faisal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arunkumar (8/5): Very good -
- Balousony (10/5): Definitely would stay there again - Shower was great! Perfect temperature and good pressure. The host is very helpful and accommodating. Excellent advice tailored for your needa not just to suggest most touristic places and expensive sights.
- Jade (6/5): Pleasant - Very cheap stay Newspaper on the windows in the bathroom was a bit strange and the room looked quite old.
- Kirsty (8/5): Very good - The owner was very nice, my train was delayed and he stayed up to let me check in past the check in time, he left some bananas and water and gave some Chai in the morning. He also gave me information on my buses.
Basic old rooms but clean, for the very good price you could not expect more. Close to catch train and buses rather than going to fort kochi.
- Mohammed (1/5): The staff was rude and ignorant, didn’t care enough to get the booking done. -
- Margherita (8/5): Very good -
- Mubeen (9/5): Superb -
- Vimal (8/5): Very good -
- Kev (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, friendly and helpful staff etc Was all good for the money!!
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - This lodge is in a great location, close to good restaurants and other useful facilities.
Room was good, great value for money here.
And the management is friendly and helpful and caring, I got a big help in booking a train.
Perfect stay for me in Kochi, I highly recommend St. Antonys Lodge to any budget traveller!
- Heike (8/5): Basic place, very friendly, good location. - Very friendly and helpful manager.
Free tea in the mornings.
Free drinking water refills.
Good location near waterfront, supermarkets, restaurants... Room very hot. No proper mosquito screens.
Loads of mosquitoes in the room.
Fan is very noisy, making it hard to sleep.
- Arun_the_wanderer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arpad (9/5): Superb -
- Louise (9/5): Great value-for-money and amazingly helpful on-site manager - Excellent value-for-money for a well-located private room and bathroom with great internet - and an enormously helpful manager, who let me check-in very early, and then made a lot of effort to provide accurate and useful information about local facilities, things happening around town and about onward transport Lots of mosquitoes in the room
- Alice (9/5): Superb - Owner very helpful and welcoming, good value for money

- Udhayashankar (7/5): Good -
- Claudia (10/5): Exceptional - Basic room, but very clean. The staff, specially Rafel is very helpful and friendly,24h available for you. They brought hot water to my room and free coffee.Water is 1bottle free.Very good wifi, perfect location,a lot of supermarkets, restaurants and shops close by.Perfect price/value.I will definitely come again. Everything was fine
- Jayanta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roland (8/5): Very good - Friendly helpful staff. Good location Older style decor but clean..... It's not a 5 star but clean and relatively cheap
- Vamsi (9/5): Superb -
- Miguel (7/5): Very positive and very negative at he same time - The relation price-quality, the staff and the location I wont come back except they put mosquito nets. I couldn't´t sleep in the whole night due to a big amount of mosquitoes and they didn´t provide me anything to get protected of them and the room has 2 big holes ventilation and the windows oft he corridor were open without possibility to close them. The second very bad thing is that they the toilet didn´t have the wipe to clean the butt neither hygienic paper. How do I clean myself?
- Nicole (10/5): Helpful and welcoming in an excellent location - Very basic room in excellent location and the owner was extremely helpful and kind. We received more information and help here than anywhere we’ve staying in India. For the money this guest house was excellent. Their restaurant recommendations were amazing (some of the best food we’ve had in India) and the information provided on local transport was spot on. We booked to stay here twice Nothing! For Indian guesthouse accommodation it was a standard room.
- Raiymbek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Raghuveer (5/5): Passable -
- Ajith (8/5): Very good -
- Snigdha (9/5): good to stay in a budget option - The staff is good. The location is accessible from bus, train and ferry services. All are nearby. But it is better to avoid the fish and vegetable market path from the bus and train. There is another road to connect the lodge. The room is clean. The bathroom doesn't have any jet spray facility. The window at the room and bathroom have no proper shutter.
- Cristabell (8/5): Very good -
- Claire (9/5): Great stay - This hotel is by the main market in the area. The owner and staff were very welcoming and gave me a cup of delicious masala tea every morning. Also suggested great things to do in the local area. This is not a tourist place, but that was it's appeal. The ferry is just 10 min walk away. I nice Costa 15 min walk away and football stadium hosting India Super League Football 15 mins on metro. Nearest metro 15 mins walk away. This place is next to very busy market and shopping district This is reasonably priced hotel. Could do with a paint perhaps but the price is very fair and reflective of this.
- Paul (7/5): Good - I only stopped for one night and needed a late check-in. This was arranged, no problem. Ideal for a short stay if you are travelling through. There were a few mosquitoes.
- Fanny (10/5): Excellent host - The hotel is located near the ferry to go to Fort Kochi and opposite is a nice market. The room is basic but clean. The owner of the hotel is wonderful! Speaks english very well and is very ondormative about things to do in the area. Maybe the best host I’ve come across travelling in India.
- Venkadesh (7/5): Good -
- Sony (5/5): ok for the rate - tea not provided addiional turkey
- Akshith (8/5): Very good - Very affordable and clean, also appreciate the hospitality of the person. Too many mosquitoes, need to find someway to get rid of the mosquitoes.
- George (10/5): Exceptional - Good No TV
- Sibin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fathima (2/5): Very poor - The location is close to North railway station. The lodge is a shabby place.
- Drup (9/5): Superb -
- Sudha (9/5): Superb - Good..safetyy
- Mohammed (5/5): Passable - Nothing much
- Reshad (3/5): Overall it was pretty terrible do not recommend it unless you’re just going to leave your bags there while you explore - The location was good, good price in off season for budget travellers The guy at reception mistakenly assumed I was Indian because of my brown skin and got angry at me for not paying a deposit online, even after I told him there was no option to do so. Then he figured I’m not Indian, apologises and softened his tone. The room was old, dingy, smelling of cigarettes when others would smoke in their rooms, sheets were very old, it looked like no one had changed anything for over a decade at least.
- Sibin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sibin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karkera (8/5): Very good -
- Vishnu (1/5): What to write when I could not even stay in the lodge.... - I did not even get the room. When I went to the lodge, the staff said that they did not block my room as I did not pay the money in advance. I had to look for another accomodation. I liked nothing. My question is, why do booking. Com keep such lodges in your site and why do you keep pay at site option if the lodge does not accept the facility.
- Harry (8/5): Very good -
