• Verified traveler (10/5): Ocean paradise - Ocean paradise: I think that's the best way to describe this place. It is a marine protected island with a wonderful reef. You can snorkel and see amazing fishes, corals, starfish and turtles! In the price the food is included (breakfast, lunch and dinner). The crew is amazing and they are trying to do anything you ask for. They played beach volley with us and they also showed me a pull-up bar where I could continue my training. The place was destroyed in 2022 by a typhoon, and they are slowly trying to fix it. It can now host about 15-20 people at most, and you live in a hut type of house where there is a private bathroom. There are also hammocks and sunbed all over the place. If you are a solo person, going there is weird as there are only couples 99% of the times. I've stayed for 4 nights, but I can easily go back there and spend another 10. It's true that there is not much to do apart from, running, swimming, snorkelling, beach volley, basketball, pull up bar, etc. But this simply life fits me so, I can stay there for many days. The night sky is also incredible and you can see sunset, moonrises, starts, milky way, etc. The only downside I see is that they are keeping most "street" lights on during the night, so you cannot really enjoy the dark night sky, but it's a matter of going around the island and you have your peace. It's really paradise on earth!

En revanche, les bungalows sont relativement sales surtout la salle de bain qui aurait besoin d’un rafraîchissement complet. Avec un peu de chance, vous rencontrerez des blattes dans vos sacs non fermés ou lit. Là aussi un insecticide serait le bien venu. Malgré tout, nous en garderons un bon souvenir

• Verified traveler (10/5): Für Naturliebhaber - Wer Party machen möchte, ist hier falsch! Aber Naturliebhaber werden es lieben. Trotz der Einfachheit der Unterkunft, kommt man hier sehr zur Ruhe und kann das Meer genießen. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend. Insbesondere Ryan und Ken bemühen sich sehr intensiv einem alle Wünsche zu erfüllen. Man fühlt sich wie in einer Familie. Herzlichen Dank für alles!!! Wir werden wieder kommen.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - This island is a paradise! White sand, blue water, amazing sea life and great staff. Speaking about staff, I dont know how much I can thank Ryan for making our stay! He is amazing! He was everywhere and doing everything at this resort. Sometimes I felt like he was the only one working there , but he is amazing at his job! You can tell he enjoys working there and is super helpful! Speaking about the resort now. The resort definitely needs some refurnishing. Small things like updating the bungalows, painting and making small improvments which will make this place even better! I recommend this place to anyone who is thinking of visiting.

On arrival it just got better and better. The island was so beautiful and tranquil myself and my family were in awe. Spent 4 very happy days there, island hopping and snorkelling. Big thanks to Aldin,Antony, Johnray and Michael for a fabulous time on the islands. I want to save my last thanks to my new friend Ryan, thank you for making me feel so comfortable in the water and showing me and the family around, and thanks for the Led Zeppelin t shirt,you made my trip. • Verified traveler (10/5): Nice place to stay - As we spent five nights here, we do enjoy the peaceful atmosphere on this tiny island. Stuff here are really kind and helpful, Especially we'd like to thank Ryan and Mark here. It’s easy to find baby sharks, stingrays around. But when you do snorkeling, do not try to touch or stand on the coral reefs or trying to pick up anything from the sea except trashes. Trying to use sun proof wet cloth and pants to instead sun cream, they are more water resistant, also won’t harm the corals.
• YUNG CHIEH (6/5): - 從公主港巴士做3.5-4小時抵達Roxas巴士總站 再做嘟嘟車過去指定的酒吧等待 一定要2PM準時 請注意巴士時間，海水乾淨 但是浮潛能見度不好，從潛店前游出去50米有滿滿珊瑚跟魚群，運氣好可以看到魚風暴（照片都是調過色的）海水上冷下熱，住宿就真的很差 我覺得，晚上才有電，風扇累積厚厚的灰塵，吹起來無風，蚊蟲到處都有直跑進來，床上打不完的沙，我真的睡不好.....但員工服務很好很親切，再一次機會 要等他有冷氣我才要來 哈哈哈哈
• Bobby (10/5): - Please don't let my average facility rating deter you from visiting here. I am being honest about the lack of amenities so you don't get a false impression about the island. I had a fabulous time at this chill location. It is a bit primitive but exactly what I loved about it. Many of the beach front cottages make you feel like you are on the beaches of Hawaii 100 years ago. As you have read in other reviews there is no air conditioning and depending on the time of year you could have a sweaty sleeping experience. The staff were awesome and I will definitely visit here again because as with many Philippine locations, tourism will eventually ruin the natural beauty.

Synd at vedligeholdelse ikke priorers højere og at man ikke sørger for at tømme skraldespande. Men kan varmt anbefales hvis man ikke forventer luksus Der er en dejlig stilhed og ro. Der er rig mulighed for snorkling og dykning.

Les repas sont bons et plusieurs choix sont disponibles. Les prix des boissons sont tres corrects. Pour ce qui est des hebergements, ils sont beaux et spacieux mais manquent un peu de nettoyage.
• justine (4/5): bungalow insalubre - l'île est magnifique avec de trés beaux poissons juste à 50m du bord, le personnel est adorable mais en ce qui concerne les logements c est horrible nous étions dans un bangalow trés proche du restaurant et l'état du logement est limite insalubre, en plus pas d'eau douce pour se rincer au moins le visage, odeur d'urine, matelas tachés, fenêtres avec moustiquaires arrachées, groupe electrogéne qui fonctionne toute la nuit, aucune Wifi contrairement a ce qu'il annonce, amenez vos boules quiez, trés mauvais rapport qualité prix c est honteux !!!!!!! notre pire logement au philipinnes
• Verified traveler (2/5): Une honte : à éviter absolument - Locaux : Vétustes et dangereux. La cantine collective n'a rien de romantique, mais surtout les lattes du sol sont en mauvais état. Je pèse un poids normal, pourtant j'ai traversé le sol de la salle de repas. Je suis restée coincée jusqu'au genou, m'en sortant finalement avec seulement des dermabrasions et des hématomes. A notre départ le lendemain, car nous avons écourté notre séjour, le trou était toujours présent dans le sol. Le personnel est venu me demander après coup si j'allais bien. Heureusement que des touristes sont venus bien avant le personnel pour me décoincer. Chambre : Simplement une honte. La moustiquaire est trouée, ne permettant pas de se protéger efficacement contre la quantité impressionnante de mouches dans les chambres. Il n'y a pas de coffre fort, ce qui est très gênant quand la fenêtre ne ferme pas. Pas de prêt de serviette de plage. L'eau de la douche n'est pas chauffée et est à l'eau salée. Mauvaise odeur. Apportez votre champoing si vous ne voulez pas payer 25 pesos par dosette de shampoing. Environs : Enormément de mouches sur la plage. Snorkling sans intérêt car les coraux sont morts. Chaussures pour marcher sur les rochers indispensables, d'autant qu'il y a des coraux morts tranchants dès l'entrée dans l'eau. Nombreux déchets éparpillés partout sur l'île. Nourriture : Très mauvaise. Pas de dessert le midi. Le soir buffet avec cake sans goût. Aucun fruit sauf au petit déjeuner. Eau "potable" seulement au repas avec un odeur d'essence

È spartano e sarebbe perfetto data la situazione sull'isola, si integra perfettamente al contesto... Ma nelle camere i servizi igienici fanno ribrezzo, avrei preferito una doccia esterna da campeggio... E la pulizia è pari a zero... Noi eravamo nelle unit 1 e unit 2...siamo stati due giorni... L'isola ha compensato a tutte le mancanze comunque...

• Verified traveler (8/5): Liten mysig ö. - Enkelt boende. Inget för dig som gillar lyx. Råttor på rummet i stort sett alla 5 nätter vi bodde där. Trots att vi hade stängt alla väskor och inte hade någon mat. Men att ön är så fin väger upp boendet. Enkel och bra mat, inte så mycket vegetariska alternativ. Men gick att fixa lite med kocken. Revet är ganska dött, men mycket fisk att titta på. Mycket rockor osv. Fin strand och mysig miljö. Rekommenderas stark om du inte är så brydd i lyx. 😊

• Nicola (4/5): Disappointing - We stayed 2 nights at Modessa on the understanding that it is 2* and basic. However we were really disappointed for a number of reasons: - The boat transfer was late leaving despite us receiving an email reiterating that we must be there for 2pm as this is the only transfer. - We were given the key but not told where the cottage was & found ourselves wandering around looking for our room. - No help offered with our luggage - We knew the showers were salt water but the small bathroom was more like a prison cell with peeling paint off the concrete. - Poor quality towels and toilet roll were left on the bed. - Bamboo flooring not sealed. Anything could crawl up through the gaps and there was no mozzy net over our window. We woke on the 2nd night to a rat running around the rafters. - Limited food choices, meal usually served luke warm and poorly presented. - The clear waters were beautiful but there was a lot of rubbish washed up on the beach. Staff could do a daily litter pick instead of lazing around reception all day. The resort promotes the fact that they are surrounded by a protected reef - well help to protect the ocean by picking up all the plastic! - There didn’t seem to be any leadership for staff. I’m not sure who was in charge of all the staff lazing about, swimming in the sea or playing pool. With a little extra care this place could be a really nice get away. Unfortunately for us the hour+ transfer across choppy waters was not worth it.

WiFi très capricieux. Personnel au petit soin et très serviable. Attention, douche à l'eau très légèrement salée. Donc prévoir du gel douche en abondance et une bouteille d'eau pour le lavage des dents.

• Carmen (8/5): Basic accommodation in wonderful island - The accommodation is quite basic. Our cottage was extremely hot and the ventilator they brought could only get plugged in quite dar from the bed, so we were only feeling it on our feed. The island is amazing with the most beautiful beach I have seen during the hotel trip. I would definitely recommend it if you don't mind missing some confort for a couple of days. To get there we had to wait for the only free boat at 14.00 that finally departured at 14.30, so we did not get much if the beach on that day. The day after we left at 13.00. I would recommend 2 nights as 1 was a bit too short. The food was ok but not the best we have had.

• edouard (4/5): Emplacement top, infrastructure non entretenue - Emplacement superbe, snorkelling bien, personnel agréable, transport ok Mais cottage plus que vieillissant (rouille, etc) et infrastructure non entretenue (certaine partie à l’avandin), inadmissible vu le prix. Nous savions que le confort était minimal et ça ne nous a pas posé de problème ; le problème est que rien n’a été changé depuis 20ans et l’entretien laisse à désirer.

• Amile (10/5): Loved it! - We loved Modessa Island Resort! Beautiful beach, with good snorkeling (we couldn't do scuba since it was fully booked). Great Frieda you staff and tasty food. Our only complain was that our room was so far from the reception. We will be back and highly recommend it!
• Alistair (6/5): Great place shame about the staff. - This is truly a piece of paradise. The problem is it seems that it hasn't been touched for about 10 years. So quiet but does need some serious work.but then perhaps that's the charm if the place. You can forgive the salt water shower and the old bedding. There were plenty of staff around but only Mark seemed to do any work or be bothered about guests. If it wasn't for him the place would collapse. The food was simple but tasty and plenty of it. With a few tweaks the place could be so much more.
• Craig (10/5): Nothing but paradise! - Where to start... This place is paradise! My wife and I were expecting a lot based on previous reviews but were totally amazed by the beauty of this little gem! We went in June and saw rain on the mainland, Palawan, everyday but didn't get a drop during our stay. We were also only 1 of 3 couples staying on the island so it was quiet and private. Perfect for a relaxing couples get away. Every meal we had was great and the drinks flowed. Highlights included fresh seafood, SUPing around the island, snorkeling with turtles, ray and eels, sundowners with the beautiful sunset and generally just enjoying every moment we spent there. The accommodation is basic with no fresh water showers but that's a minor detail when you are in paradise! We will certainly be back, SOON!

Very friendly staff, good food, a great place to rest overall.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly paradise - This place is a little piece of heaven. It's a small island that is quiet and surrounded by pure beauty. The staff are wonderful, cheerful, and helpful. This is a great place for solitude and if you just want to relax. This place is also very romantic. It's also nice that there are less than 40 staff and customers on the island so it feels very exclusive. And the menu was quite good.

• Verified traveler (10/5): The most amazing trip ever - The staff is so friendly and helpful. This place is paradise. I wish I never left. Everyone was so kind and pleasant. Simon, the young man who helped us was funny and kind. The food is really delicious and the huts are great. No wifi but you don't need it! There's so many things to do on this wonderful little slice of heaven.

There are so many things to do on and off the island and the food is AMAZING! I can't wait to book my next trip here and experience the relaxing and tranquil atmosphere again.

The food was fresh and delicious and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend Modessa Island for peace and quiet, the most beautiful sunset ever and incredible customer service.
• Ankit (10/5): Pure Bliss - The resort is located on a very small island and it is a great feeling to just be there. Quite surrounding, serene water and beautiful white sand. Accommodation is cottage type basic without any air conditioning but the cool breeze will make up for that. Food is included in the hotel pricing and is pretty good. I would definitely go back someday and stay here again.
• Gustavo (8/5): Fantastic Island - Beautiful island with a great beach. There are few cottages so you get the feeling of having an island for yourself. The best part though are the coral reefs right just by the beach. Amazing fish of many colors, sea stars, sting rays, and all other sea creatures. The food was good but the choices are limited since the menu is the same for lunch and dinner. The hotel staff picks you up from Roxas so the boat trip is included. Cottages are not isolated so it can get very hot during the day. Besides electricity works from 6pm to 8am and then from 1 to 3 pm. Overall, it was a great place to disconnect and relax. Highly recommended and a place to come back. Wifi is very poor so only WhatsApp worked.
• Olivia (10/5): Amazing island escape! - This island exceeded all expectations. The grounds are immaculately kept, each day hotel staff are grooming the beach and the inland area, so that the whole place looks perfect. The island is extremely clean, and the water is pristine. The cabins all have amazing views of the ocean. We enjoyed three meals a day (the cost of food is included in the rate, so you only pay for drinks), and the service was wonderful. Simon was an awesome waiter and we appreciate his attentiveness and hard work. He knew our names from day 1, and was always smiling. During the day we went snorkeling, laid on the beach, took a walk around the island and went diving once. This is such a great little island and the price cannot be beat. You feel as though you are staying on your own private island at times it is so quiet and relaxing. I would not hesitate to recommend this place 1000 times over.
