• Brendan (4/5): - A rather unpleasent stay with a stetch on what was included in our stay. There is no terrace. Laundry is a single coin opperated washer in the lobby of a different building. The view to the "courtyard" is an empty alley where a homeless couple resides. (See pics.) They took zero responsibility and blamed everything on Hotels.com for the issues. Don't come here.

Has a separate kitchenette with stove top and microwave, which made for a great space to sit around together. A beautiful neighbourhood with restaurants at every corner and a whole street one block over. Close to tram lines, the market, liberty bridge. This was the perfect central hub for our time in Budapest. Super easy check in and checkout process. Great value for money. Would stay again

Only (minor) issue was over-use of air-freshener, the scent of which was still overwhelming after a night with the windows open! Might be helpful to be aware ahead of time that check-in and luggage storage is at a different location, Amber Gardenview Studios, at n°26 on the same street. I would recommend Amber Terrace Studio.

And I have to say, there is an incredibly angry woman who can't answer your emails and calls after 7pm. She speaks incredibly aggressively and almost yelling at incredibly simple questions. She usually doesn't hear at all when you explain the problem, and I'm sure you'll recognize her by giving the same answer ten times without listen to u. It is full of threats like if the neighbors are disturbed after 10, you will pay a hundred eu, if you use the towel outside the hotel, you will pay 10 eu. I think that this threat style also belongs to that woman :D! I do not know I was a little traumatized by her. I hope she does NOT read this I am afraid of her :)

• Armando M (10/5): Loved it! - Recently upgraded studio apartments in the heart of Budapest. They are conveniently located within minutes on foot to shopping, restaurants and pubs in the area. The Danube and all it offers is just a short walk from the studio. Management is quick to respond to questions or comments. The studios are spacious, comfortable and the price is very reasonable. This will be my go-to spot on my future trips to Budapest!
• jonathan (8/5): You get what you pay for. Might book again - The property description said it included toiletries, but there was only a soap dispenser by the sink. The heater in the bedroom stopped working during my last 2 nights and there aren't big comforters/blankets/duvets you can use. They only give you a small single comforter.
• Kate (10/5): Great value without staying in a hostel! - We stayed for two nights after having a wonderful stay at the sister property, Amber Gardenview, last year. It's well located, spacious and modern. Really good value for money! It probably not for you if you like to hang out in your hotel whilst you're on holiday: it's basic and not necessarily cosy for relaxing, but it's a fantastic base from which to explore Budapest. There was building work going on next door which made it a little noisy first thing, so if you like a peaceful lie in maybe don't stay there within the next month or so! We didn't mind though, we only had a limited amount of time in Budapest in this time so only used the studio to sleep in.

Apart from staff not being reliable, the room was noisy inside and outside: Located on the 1st floor on top of a bar I had to wait until closing hour, way after midnight, to get some decent sleep. However, even this did not helped since all the 5 nights of my stay I heard a kind of laser printing sounds from a nearby room. Also, the heater had its own noisy activating hour, and so on and so forth.

Location is great - close to everything - good restaurants, public transit. The kitchen was an added benefit. The only issue was the wi-fi - didn't work most of the times. Reported it to the property and they restarted the router, but it didn't help much - luckily we had our own data plans so worked around it. Overall a pleasant stay and value for money.

It was really conveniently located close to subway stations and within a walking distance there were pretty much all the services we needed. We were travelling with two little kids so we appreciated the location a lot. The room (#9) was a bit small but spacious enough to accommodate us for a week. The shower was in good shape. Some of the lights were blinking and when we asked about those they sent a guy to take the blinking lights away... well, that's one way to handle the problem. The beds were not super comfortable but we slept without any bad back aches. The elevator to the second floor was really tiny but working. Would we stay here again? I don't know... maybe?

• Foreign (6/5): - Amber is good for people on a budget.I like that is has a small kitchenette, refrigerator, microwave and electric kettle.The location is walkable to Vaci Street, Elizabeth White Bridge and St. Stephan's Basilica.As you go out of the front door, turn left & at the end is a discount store & across is a small grocery store & Chinese restaurant.Continue to walk towards the next block & at the end turn right & there is a Starbucks.As you go towards the street, turn to the left and you will see the White Bridge.Thereabouts is VACI STREET which is Budapest's main shopping pedestrian street.Check in is at Amber Garden which is one block across Amber Studio. I got lucky since I was able to check in before the Desk closed so I got a person to give me instructions on how to get into the property. I got the MINI BUD ride from the airport so I was exactly dropped off at the front door to Amber Garden by the driver. As you open the tall daunting doors you will see 2 huge recylable bins & you will have to go inside & the Reception room to the left. It was evening already and to look for the speficic front door of AMBER STUDIO on a dark street was quite scary. When you finally find it & push the door after you enter the code, dark hallway then you see the elevator to take you to the 1 floor. When I reached my floor, it was well lit, got into my room, sparse furnishings. Bathroom light & hallway outside room has motion sensor lights.Did not have safety issue when I return late at night.

The property we were in looked quite different in quality to that displayed on the photos on Expedia. It was dated, there were a few little stains on the walls, and the balcony shown in pictures was too small to use due to air conditioning equipment out there. The bed was okay, but the pillows incredibly uncomfortable, and no spares of anything were provided. There was kitchen equipment, but nothing like tea or coffee, or even salt and sugar, had been provided. There is only one small mirror on the bathroom wall, and the whole place had an odd smell to it.

• Warren (10/5): Great location at a reasonable price - We stayed at Amber for 3 nights and enjoyed it immensely. It's located in a quiet street, close to the Danube, Market Hall and plenty of eating options. The prices are great for the rooms and location you get. Public transport is close by and it's easy to get anywhere in the city. There's also a small supermarket just up the road or Aldi in the Market Hall, which come in handy with the kitchenette available in the studio. As we arrived out-of-hours, we used the self-checkin option which was well explained and simple to follow. We would definitely return here if we are in Budapest again.

Quite a basic room but very clean, with a comfortable bed and has everything you need for a short stay. We only used the kitchen to make breakfast and cups of tea, but had everything you need to cook a basic meal. It was -1 degrees when we were there and the heating in the room was amazing, lovely and warm! Had a pleasant stay, perfect for a short city break and very reasonably priced.

The hotel indicated that they have never had a breakfast buffet (or any type of breakfast for that matter). The kitchen amenities in the studio did not even include a coffee maker. The hotel confirmation also indicated that there would be a washer/dryer available. And although there was a washer available, there was no dryer, and only one drying rack to be shared by multiple units. Also, when we first got to the room, half the electrical outlets were not working (including the only one the tv could be plugged in). There is no phone in the room, so we had to walk back to the registration desk (which is in a separate building down the street) and wait for them to come reset the breaker.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice apartment, very friendly staff - The hotel room was very nice and comfy and the receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. Location was perfect, near the centre. Would definitely stay there again.
• Liz (10/5): Great location ,walking distance to sites - Great location to the river and most sites. Walking distance to restaurants. Very clean and roomy room. Quite location. It has a lift.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Good location, but very small, window-less room. - The hotel has a good location for the centre of town. Overall rooms are clean, but not very comfortable. My room had no outside window (only one opening to a dark lightwell) and felt more like a prison cell. Not recommended if you plan to stay indoors.
