Un supermarché en face, pour ceux qui aime : un KFC à 2mn en face. Wifi excellent Parfait on vous dit !

• jackiepslp (10/5): Lovely, welcoming hotel with good wine - This is a lovely hotel. It was a very welcome haven, quiet and centrally located. The front desk is incredibly helpful and friendly. It is comfortable, clean and pretty. There is a wine cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. The wine selection is quite extensive, including South American, African, European, and North American. Prices are inexpensive for rooms and wine. This would be my first choice to stay if I'm ever in Trang again!
• MrJoeG (8/5): Good enough for the price - The price was reasonable for the room and general atmosphere. There were some minor issues that could have been easily fixed and yet were not. We were on the top floor, before you enter your room there is an outside swing door. These banged open and closed all night due to the wind. So did the room next to us. I had to wear ear plugs, I don’t know how my wife survived. If you’re not on the top floor, this may not be relevant. They did not clean our room because we had put the sign on the door that said “clean room”. I believe they have English signs but can’t read English so assumed the sign meant “do not disturb”. No breakfast or breakfast option at their restaurant. The price was low enough that I’d go back.

• PAULIE_POOH (10/5): YOU’LL BE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED … - Trang is a sleepy rural town in southern Thailand that doesn’t have a huge amount to commend it; true, it is the home of the first ever rubber tree to enter Thailand, is well-known for its dim sum and particular style of a very tasty crispy pork - but It also possesses a one-way system which would baffle a London taxi driver and, once finally negotiated, bizarrely displays a sign stating ‘Trang Bypass Route this way’…. Having said that, it is certainly an excellent place for an overnight stop when motoring to or from Malaysia, and - having done it a few times now – I can certainly recommend the Ban Ao Thang hotel. Right in the centre of town adjacent to the railway station, it has masses of free parking outside and gives easy access to the local markets – and KFC! The rooms are basic rural Thai; somewhat depressing in decor but extremely clean and comfortable. What makes this hotel, however, is the bar life and restaurant. Situated on the veranda, the staff can mix an incredible array of cocktails, provide extremely well cooked food from a surprisingly large menu and – if that was not enough – entertain you with a one man band! The staff are of course extremely polite and obliging – as is generally the case in Thailand – and it is worth having a look at the contents of the hotels wine collection, another area of interest in this remarkable little hotel. Go - you won’t be disappointed.

• Dom21076 (8/5): Great central location; very good room (with window); friendly staff - We spent a couple of nights in a "double room with window" (I would NOT recommend the room with no window). The room is spacious, super clean and comfortable; with a fridge (2 bottles of water provided every day), tea /coffee kettle and relatively quiet air conditioning. Good bathroom/shower. The room is serviced every day. Indeed there is no lift... but I am sure the staff (very kind and helpful) would be happy to help in case of heavy luggage! The location is great, close to the railway station, street markets, restaurants, etc. In short, a pleasant stay and a great choice of accommodation in Trang.

• Timothy (10/5): Wonderful Stay in Trang. - Ban Aothong is a terrific option when staying in Trang. It is an authentic Thai experience with nice rooms, beds, a/c, etc. Ideally located near Train Station (no noise) and Night Markets. Excellent outdoor area. Complimentary breakfast of coffee, tea, Thai treats, cake, fruit etc is a nice touch. Staff all great. Don't hesitate.

• Scott (10/5): Easy to like - A comfortable, clean hotel steps away from the train station, there is a lot to like about this hotel. On the ground floor of the there is an excellent restaurant that includes a Western food and a full bar. Located in the middle of town and surrounded by eateries, night markets and travel agencies, its easy to get acquainted with Trang. Our travel partner had recently broken his ankle and hotel staff went out of their way to move him to a lower floor although there is no elevator. Highly recommended.

• Peter (8/5): Excellent loacation and fair price. - Nice little hotel perfectly located next to the train station. Bed was firm but comfortable. Aircon and WIFI worked well. Only complaint is the walls were rather thin. The Wine Cafe downstairs is a nice place to hang in the evenings, featuring live folk music. For sure, I would stay here again.
• imakena (4/5): Would try a different hotel next time. - It gets quite noisy if many people are in the hallway as noise echo’s up the stairs and walls are thin. They had a nice coffee machine, but breakfast is very sparse. Usually toast, some kind of cake and rice in banana leaves, serve yourself. Small room, hard bed, but clean. The blanket didn’t quite fit the bed, just came to the edges, so we were always pulling covers off each other. People at the front desk were very helpful. Wi-fi would not work in the room, so we usually sat out front at some nice benches and tables. Night market on the left just past the clock tower, we liked it better than Cinta Gardens. Right by the train station and a local market.
• JMK_The_Wanderer (8/5): Good Location - This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel, this time just 1 night in a “double room with window”. It's in an excellent location, just steps from the railway station and the weekend night market. There is a larger night market just past the clock tower that operates every evening. The room itself was small but clean and functional. The bed was ok, classic hard Thai bed. The AC blew right onto the bed though, which was not ideal. There were only 2 free power points, but I did get my electronics charged by morning. The TV was the old style, not even flat screen, but there was a DVD player attached. I didn't bother trying to see if there were English channels, this part of Thailand doesn't get enough western tourists to warrant full spectrum satellite TV. Bathroom was small but did have a separate shower area, which is a plus. There was a fridge but no kettle. No safe box. All staff I encountered were friendly. The reason I bumped the rating up to 4 stars was because of the cheap price.
• Gill12013 (10/5): Very friendly staff and great location - We stayed here twice before and after our visit to Trang islands. Hotel is in a great location, right next to station and close to the weekend night market. The real selling point of the place is the staff, particularly the girl on reception who is so friendly, welcoming and helpful. She helped us to arrange transport for our island visit and our onward journey- all with a smile! We stayed in the fourth floor room. No lift, as others have mentioned, but it’s really worth the hike up the stairs. So lovely to have a little outside seating area to sit and relax. The room has comfy twin beds, fridge, tea making facilities and quiet ac. Good shower in the bathroom too. Great value for money too.
• AnObjectiveTraveler (10/5): Excellent Value for Price... with a smile! - What a hidden gem. Maybe it’s not so hidden, but what a gem. I have to note up front that my girlfriend and I stayed in the top floor “suite” and we felt that it was most definitely the best room in the building, so my review might be skewed. Take-away: get the top floor room. What it is: a small quaint hotel (4 floors, no lift) with a wine bar / restaurant attached to the lobby. It can be hard to find good wine in Thailand. This place has some. And the live music is not to be missed. The rooms are simple and what some might call “dated” others might call “vintage”. Koong / Goong, ya know? Don’t expect luxury. It’s $25/night. Give them a break. Again, we stayed in their nicest room. Private covered rooftop porch facing west over the train tracks. Watch a storm disappear into the sunset with your 7-Eleven Chiang from down the block. Small garden with fountain and (if you’re lucky) a little kitten that lives there. Simple clean room that would’ve been worth the price. The private outdoor space made it incredible. What it isn’t: super clean or super nice, no pool, no young people, nothing sexy about it. It’s more like staying at your grandmas house, if grandmas house was attached to an awesome wine bar. Location is excellent. 100 yds from the train station, which has a cool night market on Friday nights. The trains are infrequent and not really even noticeable from the hotel. Restaurants of different cuisine, cafes and a 7 eleven all walking distance. A long walk or short tuktuk to Cinta Garden (highly recommended, especially fridays / saturdays). Front desk women were super kind and super helpful, arranging transportation for us to continue on to Ko Mook. They run the wine bar too. Awesome. If you’re chill enough to even FIND Trang and get there, then you’re chill enough to appreciate Ban Ao Thong. We fell in love with both and will be back. GET THE TOP FLOOR ROOM. There might be two? The one on the left. Say hi to the kitty for us!

Location is great next to the train station (don’t let this put you off as you can’t hear the trains go by from the hotel)and night Market. We bought food from the market and ate it at the hotel bar with a drink which they didn’t mind us doing. Overall, great value for money and great service.

• ditchthislife (10/5): Booked one night and stayed for five! - Our plan was to stay in Trang for one night then head out to one of the islands however, we enjoyed the town of Trang and this hotel so much, we decided to extend our stay. The location is excellent. The hotel is within walking distance to all kinds of night markets. From the weekend market in front of the railway station to Cinta Garden which is more upscale and runs every night, to a number of local side markets. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and super affordable so, given its close proximity (45 minutes) to Pak Meng we decided to do a few day trips out of there vs. heading to an overcrowded island which would of been much more expensive. The best part of the hotel, for us, was the service. Chareeya, who works the day shift, is excellent. She was so helpful and suggested a number of tours we could do right from the hotel. She was always waiting when we came back for the day to see how everything went. We really enjoyed dealing with her. Best service we have had in the entire three months we have been travelling!

• another-reviewer27 (8/5): Simple and reasonably priced in Trang - Simple and reasonably priced accomodation in Trang, with excellent location - close to the train station, night market (food/clothing/footwear), tour/transfer/travel shops, massage, food and coffee shops. The room we stayed in had some sort of cable TV, WiFi, firm but comfortable double bed, good cold aircon, fridge and hot/cold shower. Despite the train line running behind the hotel and the market almost out the front (which seems to wrap up around 11), we had no noise issues. Interesting decor in the common areas; worth spending a few minutes looking at. When booking I would recommend spending the few extra Baht and get a window room. May not be suitable for limited mobility individuals as stairs were many and quite tight to get up to second floor onwards. If stairs aren't a problem and you need a good practical location in Trang, I would recommend Ban Ao Thong.

• JMK_The_Wanderer (10/5): Very Satisfied - Great hotel! Very convenient to the train station and tour offices on a super quiet street. Booked a double room with window (#203) for 700 baht per night. Room was small but clean and comfortable. Whisper quiet air con. Reception staff always said hello and with a smile. There is a coffee/tea station in the lobby (not free) and an excellent and inexpensive restaurant next door, open for breakfast and lunch. Nearby night market is not open every night, but walk 10 minutes up the main road past the clock tower for great food every night of the week. Tasty curry dishes for 30 baht. My only small complaint about the hotel is that there are no safe boxes, not even in reception, and as I was headed for the atm-free islands laden with two weeks worth of cash, I was just a bit nervous about not being able to secure my valuables. Overall though, I was a very satisfied customer. If I return to Trang, I will definitely return to this hotel.
• Brooker1980 (10/5): One nights stay before flying back to the UK - A very clean and friendly hotel with a traditional decor. We visited on a Friday night, all the restaurants in the vicinity seemed closed but the night market was on and bustling with locals. It was a minutes walk from the hotel towards the train station. A great place to get something to eat and drink. We ate it back at the hotel. The reception staff organised a taxi to the airport in the morning for us. We wanted to print off our boarding passes but their printer was not synced with their computer. They called a computer whizz kid from the town who after 30 minutes kindly managed to print them out for us.

• gilles (8/5): hôtel avec charme - Second séjour dans cet hôtel, la personne à la réception très souriante,nous avons pu avoir notre chambre dès 9h du matin à notre arrivée de l'île de koh sukorn. Attention il n'y a pas d'ascenseur et des travaux de destruction puis construction d'un centre commercial en face. C'est un hôtel avec du charme avec des chambres bien équipées

The station almost next door is quite fun if you manage to time it for when the train comes in. Handy location for town and market.

Nothing to complain, easy and fast check in, all clean, air conditioner working well and quiet, warm shower and a nice cafe around the corner for breakfast. Location is great with tuck tucks waiting on the railway station so no hassle to find one. This is not a resort, but the perfect hotel for a few days in Trang.
• lovetravelhk (10/5): A wise choice - Our trip in Trang with stay at Ban Ao Thong were very pleasant. We reach Ban Ao Thong at night and it is quite easy to find. (around 90 baht per person from Trang airport to hotel by minivan). I saw that the price at reception desk and our pay on booking.com have no difference, but make sure you have room when you reach Trang. Big value points: 1. The staff are very friendly and helpful, we had to cancel one room right at the day we came, they did not even complaint or charge us fee but help us on the procedure, help us find some stuff we need for free. 2. The hotel is very near Trang Railway station (also the night market) which sell lots of good food (don't have to spend much time thinking of what to eat). I would recommend you choose room with windows. There also room for family or group of four. A small minus point is air con is a bit cold.
• mercerh (8/5): Central Location. Thai style guesthouse - Stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Southern Thailand. Really great location for station and Trang town. Handy for the night market. Reasonable price. Very comfortable bed. Fridge and air con excellent. A very homely room with wardrobe and drawers. Free tea, coffee and cake in the morning. Wifi very good. I also stayed here when I visited Thailand in 2012 and I shall be back again in the future! Would recommend Andaman Islands Tour & Travel in Trang for any trips or hotel bookings that you need. They are very helpful and knowledgeable and helped me book this guesthouse and the many trips I went on.

• EUNYOUNG (10/5): 최고의 호텔이에요..^^ - 최고의 호텔입니다..^^ 일단 객실을 완전 깨끗하게 관리하고 있어서 5일을 있는 동안에 한번도 청결도로 불만이 생긴적이 없습니다..^^ 그리고 주변에 여행사들도 많아서 투어를 하기에도 좋아요..^^
• EUNYOUNG (10/5): 최고입니다..^^ - 정말 이 가격 최고의 호텔입니다..^^ 가격은 저렴하면서 깨끗하고 나와있진 않지만 아침에 간단한 케익와 커피도 무료로 제공됩니다..^^ 위치는 기차역 바로 옆이라 매일 열리는 야시장에서 걸어서 10분, 주말에 열리는 큰 야시장은 정말 바로 앞에서 열립니다..^^ 위치 좋고 근처에 싸고 맛있는 집 많고 깨끗하고 가격 싼 최고의 호텔인 거 같아요..^^
• Verified traveler (10/5): Över förväntan - Vi kom in sent från Bangkok och reste vidare nästa morgon. Vi bokade Penthouserummet och det var jättefint, men hela hotellet var trevligt. Ingen hiss för de som har tungt bagage.
• Jordy (10/5): Keurig schoon, kleine maar fijne kamers - Keurig schoon, kleine maar fijne kamers die beschikken over alles dat je nodig hebt. Het personeel is super vriendelijk en doet er alles aan om je thuis te laten voelen. Bovendien is de prijs laag.
