Eric (4/5): Smoky, old, convienent, cheap. - Location Check in time is typically 4 pm, we showed up at 4:30ish, security to get into inn is keycards, you just don’t get one until you check in. We arrive and are told “your room isn’t ready, I’m the only one working.” We then got informed about typical terms of staying, no smoking/vaping/don’t lose your card/etc. Ironicalky the only thing you could smell at the inn was cigarettes and smoke. For a non smoking place there sure was a lot of rooms that people were smoking in… The hollow floors and thin walls mean you hear every thing. Wouldn’t recommend staying again.

I anticipated it was right on the Kenai River, but it wasn't. Also we hit it at the wrong time because apparently the best breakfast in town was closed for cleaning so we couldn't verify that claim.

David (2/5): Not recommended - The hotel is conveniently located on the main thoroughfare near activities, restaurants, and other businesses. Breakfast was not included but there is an attached restaurant and bar. Given the high prices throughout the Kenai Peninsula, my expectation was simply for a modest, clean and comfortable roadside motel. The entry and adjacent common area are welcoming. Our room, however, was small and uncomfortable but it was high season and there were few lodging alternatives in the area at the time. The biggest concern is that there was no security locks (deadbolt, chain or otherwise) on the door. A hotel employee opened our door one night at 9:55 pm without knocking or first announcing her presence. She apologized and stated that she thought we had checked out but she was the one who had extended our stay. The next day the owner (not a very friendly person) promised he would put a security chain back on the door but he never did it. Note: The property is not located over or adjacent to the Kenai River, rather it is nearby. Some online review(s) suggest that the river runs under the restaurant but that is someone's attempt at humor apparently referencing the painted or tiled representation of a river on the floor of the restaurant.

Andrew (7/5): A good place to stay in Soldatna. - Location close to local attractions and restaurants. Owner/manager was very helpful in getting us settled. The room layout was a little odd, with the sink in the main room instead of the bathroom. However, these sorts of things happen when you retrofit an older motel room to ADA standards -- the only way to leave room around the toilet for a wheelchair transfer was to move the sink outside the bathroom. We were disappointed the restaurant wasn't open, but the owner/manager gave us a good recommentation for a fine local restaurant.

Penelope (10/5): - This motel is not luxurious. However, if your are interested in breaking up you trip from Homer to Anchorage and appreciate cleanliness and a comfortable bed, this is your place. It is right on the route in downtown Soldotna - an easy in - out from the highway. You park right in front of your unit. This was important for my husband who uses a walker. There was ample room inside to maneuver his wallker. Checkin and check out was easily done. The front desk service was very personable and helpful. The attached restaurant has very good food!

John (10/5): - Angela, front desk representative, provided exemplary customer support. She was very professional, kind, and very responsive to our needs. The room was big, beds were comfortable, a great place to relax and unwind.

Amber (4/5): - The good, it’s fairly clean. The bad, no one was at the counter for quite a while. I had to ask for help in the restaurant and one of the waitresses had to go find the person in charge of the front desk “in her room”. We finally got checked in, and the tv didn’t work (maintenance came in and the cable box had been unplugged and the system had to reboot), the tv remote was filthy, and when we turned the heat up, the whole room smelled like it was on fire. Not to mention the noise from the heater that went on after it stopped. It’s not a place I’d stay again.

Megan (8/5): - Older building but very clean and tidy. Front desk person was wonderful and pleasant. The restaurant attached is very convenient and good. Was pretty quiet for the night. Has everything you need for most nightly stays. Bring a hairdryer if you normally use one.
Monique (8/5): Outside doesn't match the inside - As a woman who does not travel solo frequently, I was concerned as I pulled in that I would be given one of the motel style rooms (door to the outside). The outside is a little odd looking and not immediately obvious where the lobby door was. I had to buzz to be let into the lobby which immediately made me feel a little safer. The woman who helped me was very friendly and accommodating. I got a room on the second floor- a room that opened into a hallway. The room was large and very clean, although slightly outdated. Everything worked as it should and I have a lovely stay.

Verified traveler (6/5): Just enough - Recently stayed here for a fishing trip. The place was clean enough, with the building and room both being safe and comfortable. The bed itself was clearly old and worn out, and fairly uncomfortable especially given how physically exhausting multiple days of fishing can be. Room was never serviced the entire time I was there, and there was never anyone at the front desk (you had to call or buzz).
Verified traveler (6/5): Nice older establishment - Older rooms but good for age of establishment. Not very accommodating for people with disabilities. I asked for disability accessible room, and had to climb 3 flights of stairs to get to room. Also shower is very slick hard to get in with crippled legs, beds are so low to ground it's hard to get up. Friendly staff if you can find them. There is a number to call to contact staff, then someone will come to front desk. Attached restaurant is amazing. Huge portions, I never could finish half my plate.

Verified traveler (8/5): - Easy and simple lodging right in the heart of town. Bed and pillows comfy. Room and bathroom size big. Could have used an extra blanket on the bed, and water pressure was low. Not fancy but served its purpose for the trip and felt clean and safe.

Alice (6/5): - Bedding and linens were clean. There was no safety latch on the door. Mattress was cheap and uncomfortable with no support. The single chair was a broken down stacking chair with zero padding. There were no black out curtains and they didn't close completely with shears in the middle. Walked by other rooms with open doors that appeared updated, probably comfortable well taken care of, too bad the room I was in hadn't been updated.

Evelyn E (8/5): - Though not a recently built or remodeled facility, the inn and property were clean and well kept. The room featured several ammenties to make our stay more pleasant. The bed was very comfortable. The friendly and welcoming staff was helpful in getting us situated into our room on the second floor. Another chair at the table would have be a welcome addition.

lisa (4/5): Has room for improvement - I'm never comfortable leaving a less than positive review, but feel it's only fair to future customers. Although, the front desk person was very nice and the lobby area was "homey", this hotel definitely has room for improvement. We stayed 5 nights and housekeeping never cleaned the room, emptied garbage cans, or brought fresh towels. Even when we called and specifically asked for these things to be done, it wasn't done until we called upon returning to the room at 9pm. The mattress was very old and sunk towards the middle. The room was recently remodeled, but you could tell corners were cut in the workmanship. The food at the attached restaurant was good, though.
