Guest Reviews
- Kerry (10/5): -
- Gary (9/5): A restful place. - Great breakfast, helpful staff. Train traffic is a little noisy.
- danyell (10/5): - Convenient, location, friendly and helpful staff. N/a
- Sean (10/5): - Updated was very nice
- Mary (8/5): -
- Laura (3/5): Will not return - Breakfast was fine, staff was very nice. Pool was closed the first night, Sauna was broken and roll away bed was unusable, and the hotel is just feet away from a train yard that has trains going by with horns throughout the night.
- millicent (6/5): it was overall not comfortable and didn't allow for a restful night of sleep. - we liked the hot tub. the whirlpool in the room was too deep for me to get in, but my hubby could get in it. it had a shallow bathtub. the breakfast was also good. there was too much noise from the kids. the kids weren't well behaved even in the pool/spa area. the bed and pillows were too hard. the pillows were also too short. the chair by the table was too wobbly. the couch was also not comfortable.

- gbfan4 (10/5): Great Bartender - Kirsten is an amazing bartender. Unexpected treat. Hotel bar was busier than bar next door.
Hotel is clean and nice……..

- dcP976WQ (10/5): Great place to stay - Kirstin made my stay here very pleasant! Very warm and inviting atmosphere and it’s located around many good restaurants.
- lukemP5844UE (10/5): The best experience I’ve had - Kirstien was great she helped me get my room and gave me good ideas where to eat
It was a great experience I had staying and I will for sure be coming back
- lori (3/5): - It was average Traveled for business and WIFI did not work
- Cruiser21202221199 (10/5): Excellent option for my stay - Service is excellent. I stay here very regularly and I’ve achieved diamond status with my Wyndham rewards at this specific location. Kirsten knows me and smiles when I arrive. Early breakfast is spot on and plenty of options. My only disappointment is when the Virginia AmericInn is booked full and I have to go elsewhere.
- O2661NJdrews (10/5): Best place to stay in town. - Kirsten was very helpful and coordinated my stay perfectly.
- U9803PLmattv (10/5): Best place to stay in Virginia MN - Great place to stay in Virginia MN. Excellent snowmobile stop. Restaurant across the street. Kirsten was very helpful at the front desk for a quick check in!
- coreymD5113VJ (10/5): Great service and always exceeds expectations - I've stayed here many times in the past few months. This hotel staff is always friendly, clean and manages to exceed my expectations. For example I had a part delivered to the hotel and they called me as soon as it arrived! Another bonus is they have hot food in the evenings, very nice perk after a long cold day working.

- Ricky (10/5): - Good pillows

- spencerl862 (10/5): Clean property, friendly staff! - Recently renovated in the last year, it was great. Rooms were clean. The breakfast options were great. Added bonus was the little bar they have onsite.
- Cunningham (9/5): -
- loren (1/5): -
- Mike (8/5): Loud - Was good. Train was loud though
- Duana (10/5): -
- Peggy (8/5): - An unexpected layover during a trip to Canada.
- Gregory (9/5): - No elevator
- Lori (8/5): - Notified pool and hot tub were closed day of reservation and said we could cancel or modify our bookings, didn’t have a choice cuz we traveled 2 hrs for a wedding, didn’t offer any discounts etc.. another thing that made me very uncomfortable was 2 men knocking on door at 10 at night and again a hr later but this time trying to get into the room. Upon calling front desk about it she just said it had to b a mistake and that’s all (2x’s an hr apart and more aggressive) so I pushed the chair in front of door and was paranoid all night, kept thinking I could hear things. But overall the hotel was good and convenient with 2 restaurants/bars in walking distance and a Walgreens. Breakfast was good as well.
- Steven (10/5): - The pool was down but I received a text and a phone call letting me know prior to checking in. Love the great communication.
- Sharon (4/5): - The room and bathroom were very small; there is no elevator (a problem for anyone on the 2nd floor with luggage); no ice machine on the 2nd floor. But, even if all these things were not a problem, the TRAIN racing through town right behind the building at least 6 times through the night (blasting its horn right there, at the hotel) was impossible to predict or suffer through a 2nd night.
- Karen (10/5): - Close to several resturants and bars. Great breakfast. Comfortable rooms. Small bar on the premises.. Would recommend to stay if your in the area. Nothing
- Steven (4/5): - We stayed for two nights while in town for friends death.
The evening shift on 8/29 we’re wonderful.
We noticed a big difference when night shift was on.
We had to ask for creamer for coffee and she was on the computer and we definitely inconvenienced her.
The breakfast area I noted there was no hand sanitizer anywhere near the food.
We found the food in the warmer cold and some of the breakfast machines out of order.
Overall for a town of this size the hotels are limited so staying here is clean but don’t expect much else. .
- JAMES (9/5): -
- Mary (8/5): - Train next to hotel.loud blowing horn all hours of the night.
- robin (10/5): - staff was very nice and helpful. Only complaint I possibly have is that the toilets in most of the rooms are way too low or should have a grab bar to get up, which is helpful for anybody who isnt a kid
- Donald (10/5): - Nic property with friendly staff
- Debbie (10/5): -
- bj (10/5): - Location, location, location. This property is in a phenomenal spot.
- Laura (10/5): Nice home away from home - Located in a nice area. Lots of free parking. Pool available. Clean rooms. Beautiful outdoor landscaping. Clean. Decent continental breakfast and grab and go. Little bar area where you can grab a beer or glass of wine! This place has it all.
- Shawna (4/5): - My room had trains running by all night and they laid on the horns
- O5472CZjeffl (10/5): Home away from home! - Clean rooms, quiet,Staff awesome!!Great pool, Great location right off the hwy,Many places to shop and eat near bye They also have a great breakfast and at four or 5 soups and crackers .
- Roger (1/5): -
- Anna (10/5): - Wonderful upgrades and motel remodel.
Broken drawer was a problem, couldn't get clothes out of drawer. Handicap shower was roomy, but alot of water ended u p outside of shower. Management was very responsive. This was our 4th stay at the property. Will definitely be back.
- Tim (8/5): - The trains were loud throughout the night, but I understand that there isn’t anything that can be done about the. The staff who was working the front counter was great. She was very friendly and accommodating.
- Angela (8/5): -
- Jana (8/5): - Excellent housekeeping! Room is immaculate and so clean! The hotel is only 2 floors; no elevator.
The hotel is on a busy road so they give complimentary earplugs! The noise wasn’t too bad!
- Megan (10/5): - Hotel seems to be recently renovated. Check-in staff was very friendly and the pool and hot tub were clean and fun to use. Great property!
- shawn (10/5): - Exhaust fan did not work in bathroom
- Megan (6/5): - This property could definitely be cleaner.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Toilet ran all night. Otherwise the room was good. Nice pool. Good breakfast. Beds were comfortable.
- Ron (10/5): - Close to good bar/ restaurant
- Alison (5/5): Passable -
- Greg (8/5): - The staff was incredibly fantastic
- Jeffery (8/5): - Clean room, friendly staff.
- 915clivev (10/5): Great overnight on our way to fishing in Canda - Recently remodeled property that is absolutely fantastic. Super friendly staff, very clean facility and well appointed room. property is fresh with a clean remodel
- Kenneth (10/5): - Not leaving a review
- Robbie (8/5): - Ok
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jill (10/5): Great - Had hot tub, breakfast, snack later afternoon. Took bikes into room to charge. We did mesabi trail. Close to restaurants and movie trail. Little expensive for a little town.
- Michelle (10/5): - Friendly staff
- P7439OJneilp (10/5): An Englishman’s 10 nights in Virginia, MN. - Very nice hotel, staff friendly and polite. Breakfast was good, any cooked items were perfectly cooked. Good selection of breakfast items.
The bar and pizza oven are nice touches.
I didn’t use the pool / area but did have a look around and everything looked well maintained and clean.
Room was spotlessly clean with comfortable bed, large screen TV, fridge, microwave, coffee machine, plenty of power outlets including USB-B.
I have no complaints at all.
- Ryan (8/5): - The trains running by loudly till 1 am.
- angelarX3565ST (10/5): Returning soon - Great room very comfy. Very peaceful and quiet. Pets in the hotel were well behaved and quiet. Pretty awsome that staff is allowed to have their kids with them at work. I will for sure be returning for another visit when I come back to the virginia area
- Aaron (10/5): - Property was very clean and comfortable, everything seemed new. I understand they renovated sometime in the last year or two but the place seemed like it just opened. The staff were great, Hailey at the front was very helpful in recommending local activities. The bar at the desk was super convenient, the hot breakfast was good and there were many food options. Bars and restaurants within walking distance, as well as plenty of shopping for necessities, and Virginia has lots of outdoor activities. Beautiful city, great hotel, will definitely stay again!
- Kristi (10/5): - Close to family members. Pet friendly.
- Jean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adam (10/5): - Value clean
- Catherine (8/5): Great hotel for a decent price - Great hotel for the price! Friendly staff, very clean and well maintained.
- Erin (8/5): - Overall, great property. Easy walking distance to food and a Walgreens. Perfect for a quick night stay.
- Pamela (10/5): - My stay was wonderful.
- KRISTYN (8/5): - Overall stay was good. Had heard complaints about train tracks being across the road and it being loud. I never heard it at all. Only thing I noticed was a few old spots of what appeared to be blood on the bottom of the duvet cover. Otherwise everything was good
- Dane (8/5): - It is between a busy road & a train tracks. It’s a little loud if you aren’t used to sleeping near a train.
- David (10/5): Great stay - Great breakfast. Wonderful stay. Very comfortable. Beds were awesome.
- Lane (8/5): Very good -
- Shelly (10/5): - it was very clean anmd safe enviroment
- Molly (10/5): Great place! - It was a very nice place. Room was great and the hot breakfast each morning was superb. Would stay here again for next visit up here.
- Linda (4/5): - Jets on hot tub not working. This was the only reason i chose this hotel. I could have went else where a lot cheaper. Really noisy with people drinking in the lobby
- jeff (8/5): - The hotel was clean, recently remodeled and the staff was great!
- Anthony (9/5): Superb -
- Jerene (6/5): - The property is 50 feet from railroad tracks. There were 4 trains that went through blowing their horns, it was horrible. The price was way too expensive as well.
- Broc (5/5): Everything good except the shower water - Close to my job site, walking distance to a decent looking restaurant. The shower was Luke-warm and the dial is accurate.
- Karen (6/5): - Old bathroom fixtures, rusty tub, breakfast cold.
- connie (6/5): - We had toilet overflow issues and they knew about it because my first call to the desk they said they have maintenance set up to remove and replace the toilet
- Megan (6/5): - The cleaning staff need training.
- Lois (8/5): Very good -
- Gary (6/5): - Check in time was 3:00. I arrived at 4:00. No room ready. Your policy early checkin will cost you 25 yo 50dollars extra. Late check out will cost you 25 to 50 dollar's extra. How about giving me a credit for not having a room ready til 5:00
- Mark (6/5): - Break fast was not good. Afternoon staff was excellent!
- James (6/5): - Railroad tracks run right behind the property
- Timothy (6/5): beware of train! - the train behind the hotel runs all night!
So if you have a room on that side, your sleep will be interrupted.
- Jessica (8/5): - Clean and comfortable
- Chris (4/5): Don’t do it. - Stayed in rm 215. Gap in the door from top to bottom. Looks live swat must have had to get in. View was the train tracks, 5 trains went through all night. Was offered ear plugs. Beds were so,so. Air conditioner had a high pitch whine when the fan was on. Bathroom sink would not drain like one would like. The shower was missing the plastic portion of the curtain, water went right through. Sorry I didn’t clean up the mess. Pool looked pretty dirty so we avoided it. Only one outlet worked by the coffee maker, so it was either light or coffee. I choose light. Coffee down stairs was great. Best thing about my stay was leaving.
- SJMe (8/5): Very nice newer accommodations - 1 night. Nice staff. Newer, clean AmericInn. RR behind hotel; trains regular. Request front room if light sleeper. Usual fast breakfast. Ice H2O w/lemon 24 hr. Walking distance B-L-D. Shower spray will wake you right up! Would stay again.
- Holly (10/5): - the staff was very friendly, the breakfast was a nice bonus!!!
- Laura (10/5): - friendly and helpful staff, very clean, good breakfast.
- John (8/5): Great staff. Liked old atmosphere better. Miss the beat - Clean Modernization
- Scott (10/5): - Soup
