• Jeremy Godrick (2/5): Not clean, staff not supportive and won't visit again - Liked the location We reached the hotel late so went for dinner straight and then to rooms. We started sneezing when we entered the room. Then we realised the floor was really full of dust. Called the reception and no one was available. Their reception and all facilities close by 9 pm. I had to clean all by myself to protect my daughter. Staff service was crap. Kitchen was fine with limited variety but won't complain. We could have surely got better hotel for the price we paid. They publish as 3 start hotel on Google but it is actually a Resort. Won't visit ever again.

• Griet (6/5): - The view over the town below. You had to pay extra for everything (only 1 bottle of water on the first day, rest charged, cappuccino was charged). No cleaning of the room nor fresh towels during the entire stay. Buffet was very average (either super spice or super bland and very limited choice)

• Hannah (6/5): Needs complete refurbishment, or to halve the prices. - The only unique "pro" The View has over its competitors these days is the pool - which isn't heated and there were no pool towels or seat cushions available. The staff are very nice, the food is surprisingly good quality (don't be put off by the menu), the flowers are pretty and of course the view itself is great. BUT it's a rip off due to poor maintenance, dirtiness and worn out cheap furnishings. The rooms need complete refurbishment and the owners need to stop being so cheap. The patio doors aren't maintained so they jam. There is only one lamp per room, with cheap and cracked lampshade. You only get one towel per person, no hand towels, and the towels are frayed and stained. The cleaning standard is poor - the floor and shower were dirty and (for the first time we've ever had) we had to ask for new bedding on arrival as it was dirty (and stained). Everything is chipped, scuffed and worn. There are better places to stay for half the price, with excellent views but no pool.

• Donna (10/5): - The staff we're all very welcoming and helpful. Including sending out messages prior to areival and coming to check on us once we had settled into our room. The rooms were clean, comfortable and with an incredible view. Pool area and gardens were all clean and well kept. The only thing that wasn't such a big deal is the food was overpriced for what it was. It was fine but expensive.

Die Einrichtung des Bungalows war teilweise einfach bis billig und auch etwas abgewohnt, für ein Hotel dieser Preisklasse keinesfalls angemessen. Das Konzept des Hotels mit den Bungalows ist interessant, allerdings wirkt die Anlage nicht wirklich gepflegt. Das Essen war gut, da wir allerdings 3 Nächte gebucht hatten, hat sich das Buffet am 3. Tag wiederholt.

• Jean Marie (5/5): Très mauvais rapport qualité/prix! - Le personnel du restaurant est très attentionné et les plats sont bons. La vue sur la ville en contre bas L’hôtel est trop loin de la ville, il faut suivre une piste de7km en montée pour atteindre l’hôtel, du coup impossible de manger ailleurs qu’à l’hôtel le soir! Le prix de la restauration le soir est un peu élevée mais le menu est très complet. L’eau de la piscine était froide! Impossible d’en profiter. Chambre réservée pour 4 personnes (2 adultes et 2 enfants) mais on s’est retrouvée avec un grand lit et un lit d’appoint.
• marco (2/5): - Nulla Esperienza pessima, da evitare assolutamente. Se cercate l'ospitalità omanita, scappate lontano da "The View". Il nome è una pura operazione di marketing ingannevole: non tutte le camere hanno la vista. Molte affacciano direttamente sul tetto di lamiera della fila anteriore. Il disastro inizia prima dell’arrivo. Comunicazione glaciale e indicazioni scarse. Ti dicono solo all'ultimo di avere una 4x4 (informazione quasi invisibile su Booking), ma la loro unica preoccupazione non è aiutarti, bensì ricordarti che alle 21:00 il ristorante chiude e "ti arrangi". Zero calore, zero assistenza, zero professionalità alla reception. Dimenticate l'integrazione con la natura. Hanno preso dei container, li hanno coibentati, dipinti di un rosa discutibile e lanciati a caso sul pendio. Materiali scadenti e impatto estetico terribile. Gli spazi esterni e gli arredi della colazione sono logori, vecchi e trasmettono un senso di abbandono totale. I lettini in piscina sono fatiscenti. Un potenziale sprecato, lasciato marcire sotto il sole. Il posto è sporco. I vetri, che dovrebbero essere il punto forte per godersi il panorama, erano così incrostati da impedire la visuale. Il bagno era in condizioni igieniche imbarazzanti: muffa ovunque e fughe delle piastrelle nere di sporcizia accumulata. Le foto allegate parlano da sole: è una struttura che ha smesso di fare manutenzione anni fa. In Conclusione, hanno creato un posto e poi l'hanno abbandonato a se stesso, preoccupandosi solo di incassare cifre folli. Non fatevi ingannare dalle foto pubblicitarie: la realtà è fatta di container sporchi, incuria e maleducazione. Soldi buttati.

• Joeri (6/5): Mooie locatie maar verder niet bijzonder - Het uitzicht op de bergen was briljant. Zorg wel dat je een kamer op de 'eerste rij' boekt, dan heb je het beste uitzicht. Wij zaten in #26, wat perfect was. De kosten voor de 4x4 rit naar het resort was belachelijk duur (€90,- retour voor 2x 15 minuten). Als je een eigen 4x4 hebt, ga dan zelf naar boven. De weg is wel grotendeels onverhard, maar makkelijk te doen. Het buffet was niet bijzonder. Weinig opties en veel te weinig locale cuisine. De obers zijn naar mijn mening ook veels te onderdanig en speken alleen de man van het stel aan. De kamer is prima, maar niet heel groot.

• Erika (5/5): Poor value for money - The only truly positive aspects of this hotel are the view, the swimming pool, and the massage therapist, who is genuinely excellent and professional. Unfortunately, the overall service is far below what is acceptable for a property at this price level. Before arrival, communication was extremely poor. I tried for days to get basic information and received little to no response, constantly having to chase for answers. This lack of communication directly caused further issues once we arrived. The hotel is not honest or clear about how to reach the property. They state that a 4x4 vehicle is required, which is simply not true — the hotel can also be reached with a normal car. Because we were not given proper information (despite trying repeatedly to get it), we were pushed into booking their transfer service, which cost 40 OMR (around 90 euros) for a drive of literally 15 minutes. This is completely unreasonable, especially considering that the room itself costs around 120 OMR (230 euros). This was exactly the information I was trying to clarify before arrival, but communication was almost nonexistent. Once at the hotel, the situation became even more disappointing due to poor organization and the way it was handled. We had lunch at the property, which was not included in the room rate. At checkout, both we and the staff simply forgot about this charge. We checked out, were escorted to the car, and no payment was requested at that moment. Only later did the hotel realize their mistake. From that point on, I was chased relentlessly for the entire day with messages and phone calls to collect 12 OMR (around 25–28 euros). This was particularly frustrating considering that during the stay I had already paid well over 300 OMR, including a 120+ OMR massage, and the hotel had shown very little responsiveness when I was the one trying to contact them before arrival. The lack of balance, discretion, and professionalism in handling such a minor amount was truly disappointing. Dinner was acceptable but absolutely not at the level expected for a hotel charging over 200 euros per night.

• Rogier (7/5): Nice view, expensive food - Like the name implies, the view is beautiful and the pool was amazing. The dinner buffet wasn't the greatest in terms of price-to-quality ratio. The beds could have been more comfortable, but the rest of the room was to expectations. A better bed and slightly lower pricing for the food (or a la carte options) would have made a huge difference and could have made our visit go from 'decent' to 'amazing' easily
• Andreas (7/5): Herrliche Lage - Lage, Lage, Lage. Spektakuläre Sicht auf die gegenüberliegenden Berge. Ruhige Anlage und mit genügend Privatsphäre. Grundriss der Bäder sehr schön. Sehr in die Jahre gekommen, architektonische Grundidee ist aber klasse. Anreise auf den letzten 3 Kilometern für Offroadfans, für alle anderen herausfordernd.

• globetrotterdeparis (5/5): Cher et mal entretenu. - L'hôtel possède une vue magique, mais il a de nombreux défauts. D'abord, son accès est rendu difficile par un accès via une route non goudronnée. Il faut bien 20 minutes pour faire l'ascension en voiture; c'est pentu et ardu. Ensuite, la chambre est assez peu confortable. La lumière est rudimentaire et très vilaine, les lampes de chevet n'éclairent pas et il est impossible de lire même en allumant tout. La salle de bain sent très mauvais (odeur de renfermé, et de canalisations bouchées), la propreté est relative. Les repas sont très bons, mais le petit-déjeuner est rudimentaire et décevant. Bref, cher pour ce que c'est. Cela ne vaut pas quatre étoiles.

• Katja (9/5): Wirklich ein besonderes Erlebnis! - Unser Aufenthalt war wirklich besonders schön!! Das Personal überaus aufmerksam und präsent, die Anlage war sehr geplegt und ordentlich und das Abendessensbuffet war ABSOLUT FANTASTISCH!! ...ein hoch auf diesen fantastischen Koch! Mit Sonnenstrahlen im Gesicht zu Frühstück und den schönsten Ausblick dabei zu haben war ein perfekter Start in den Tag! Außerdem waren die Zimmer sehr sauber und die Badewanne mit Ausblick wirklich ein Highlight. Achja, ganz zu schweigen von diesem fantastischem Ausblick. Der infinitiy Pool war wunderschön und sehr sauber, allerdings eine gute abkühlung. Ein paar grad wärmer wäre schön gewesen aber wir haben ihn trotzdem genutzt und hatten Freude daran!
• Kamil (5/5): Price is not adequate at all. - The place is awesome, almost top of the mountain, soon the tarmac road will be ready and normal car will reach. However its not a remote spot (trucks with water are coming every day) so i dont think they should treat it this way. Basically the selling point is the view. There are the things which are not acceptable. First, the room (bungalow) itself is not well insulated and AC/Heating need to be at all time, the unit installed is pretty old which cause the rumour especially during the night, water boiler was working just during first night and then only cold water was available. We came there especially for christmas eve and the informed us that cost of dinner will be 70 omr for 3 person without drinks (kind of michellin star price i guess) and when we came it was nothing special. Food was disappointing, room was disappointing (there is option for Premier room but almost double price). When i asked reception about what was special about the dinner, he said variety of food - but trust me, it was pure turist scam - in al hamra below the mountain you can eat omani specialties and the price of full dinner will not extend 15 OMR with drinks. I am really dissapointed, there were many other options around to stay and i should have choose different, especially for christmas eve.

Un sitio encantador para relajarte y pasar unos días sin moverte. La comida también me pareció muy buena y con muchas opciones diferentes. Lo único que no me gustó es la carretera para llegar hasta ahí. Es una pista anchade tierra y es necesario tener un vehículo 4x4. Para evitar problemas, se debería avisar antes, por si algún huesped no fuera en este tipo de vehículo y mejor hacerla de día,

• Brigitte (5/5): - Le seul point positif de cet hôtel est la vue qu'il offre sur la vallée mais qui ne compense pas les désagréments . On se demande pourquoi ils sont allés se mettre à 7km de piste de la vallée à 1500 m d'altitude alors que la vue aurait été aussi belle un peu plus bas . Les chambres sont dans des blocs de préfabriqué mal isolés : nous y étions en début décembre, vers 18h il y avait 30° dans la chambre et ça tombait à 15°au matin. Ce n'était pas le problème pour nous car nous sommes habitués à la chaleur et nous n'utilisons pas l'airco. Par contre les lits étaient spécialement durs, même si à oman les lits sont plutôt durs en général. Les draps housses étaient déchirés aux coins, les couettes en vulgaire synthétiques. Les meubles étaient moches, usés . Dans la salle de bains , il y avait juste deux serviettes et pas de petites serviettes pour les mains. Le breakfast n'est pas terrible non plus et le dîner du soir est sous forme de buffet avec des plats trop épicés. Nous avons payé 415 euros par nuit ( dîner inclus) ce qui est assez cher pour l'équivalent d'un deux étoiles chez nous. Malheureusement, à Al Hamra il n'y a pas d'hôtels confortables et sympas pour les touristes sauf quelques rares bed and breakfast et Al hamra est assez prisée car ville de départ pour des chouettes balades. A ne pas manquer , le village de Misfat al Abreen, coup de coeur absolu. Le personnel est très gentil mais ils ne sont pas responsable de la gestion de l'hôtel.

• Claudia (9/5): Beschwerliche Anfahrt aber dann ganz toll dafür. - Die Anfahrt ist aufgrund der Schotterstraße etwas beschwerlich aber es zahlt sich aus. Die Aussicht ist grandios - die Bungalows sind einfach toll. Der Infinitypool ist super. Das Abendessen war auch sehr gut. Das Frühstück ist noch etwas ausbaufähig.

• Lesley (9/5): Amazing view - We stayed one night - the view from our room was amazing - it was lovely to sit on the balcony and watch the sun rise. The food during our stay was lovely. Dinner was buffet style and was much better than breakfast. Although you could get omelettes made to order which were lovely. The infinity pool had the most amazing view. More shady areas needed though. We had a faulty kettle which fell to pieces and seriously sparked blowing the electrics. This we felt was quite dangerous.

• Manuela (6/5): Wunderbare Lager aber leider eher enttäuschend betreffend Infrastruktur und Qualität des Essens - Wunderbare Lage des Resorts, die Zimmer sind allerdings etwas veraltet. Das Frühstücks- und Dinnerbuffet ist etwas fantasielos und sehr einfach gehalten. Das Hotel bewirbt sich als Hike- and Bikehotel. Es waren aber weder Hike- noch Bikeinfos verfügbar. Ebenso fehlte es an der Möglichkeit Mountainbikes zu mieten.

• Filipp (7/5): Worth a short stay - The view was fantastic and truly worth the price. You even can enjoy the view from the bath which is rare. The buffet focused on Indian cuisine, but offered plenty of variety, and everything was cooked deliciously. The drainage in our bathroom was leaking, and the room overall felt worn and tired.
• JEAN PIERRE (7/5): Très belle étape , restaurant décevant - La vue exceptionnelle, le site , l’accueil du personnel et les massages top !! Nourriture du buffet du soir sans intérêt , petit déjeuner correct. Chambre mal isolée donc assez froide la nuit
• Nicolas (9/5): Pool-Entspannung with a VIEW. - Wenn man bedenkt, dass man auf einer Schotterstrasse (4x4 = Must!) 20 Minuten in die Berge hochfährt und auch alle Materialien und Nahrungsmittel auf diesem Weg hochgelangen fibt es nichts zu meckern. Leckeres, ausgewogenes Frühstücks- und Dinnerbuffet, Zimmer die alles bieten inkl. separater Toilette und Dusche (im Oman nicht selbstverständlich), coole Poolanlage und freundliches Personal. (Jammern auf sehr hohem Niveau) Abzug gibt es für den Wasserdruck der Dusche und die kühle Wassertemperatur des Pools. Im November ist es doch nicht brütend heiss auf dieser Höhe und auch der Wind macht sich bemerkbar.
• Meryem (4/5): Joli cadre mais très déçu par l’insalubrité de la chambre - Le cadre est idyllique Le calme et la tranquillité Il y avait des fourmis et des cafards dans notre chambre je n’ai pas fermé l’œil de la nuit La connexion wifi dans la chambre était quasi inexistante
• Valérie (8/5): - Die Aussicht und der Pool waren einmalig! Preis-Leistung trotz der genialen Lage nicht gut. Bungalows sind sehr basic, ebenso das Essensbuffet.
• Michaela (7/5): Stop in den Bergen - Die Lage und die Aussicht sind tatsächlich super! Das Personal sehr freundlich! Das Haus ist leider schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen.
• Bruno (7/5): Magnifique site, mais quelques dysfonctionnements à revoir - L’hôtel mérite amplement son nom, la vue est incroyable et extraordinaire. La piscine et le restaurant sont très bien. Le personnel de l’hôtellerie n’est pas aimable, contrairement à celui du restaurant qui est adorable. Nous n’avions pas d’eau chaude dans notre chambre et rien n’a été fait avant plusieurs réclamations.
• T (8/5): Great views with a lovely pool - Great view, with a fantastic infinity pool overlooking the mountains. The rooms were modern and comfortable, with a balcony and lounge to enjoy the sunset. Bathrooms were really spacious and included both a bathtub and shower. Dinner and breakfast were buffet style with lots of different options to accommodate all. Would have been good if the bar by the pool was manned and provided refreshments for purchase.

• Samia (10/5): - Tout !!!!!! Vraiment tout !!! L’hôtel est incroyable. Une vue incroyable sur les montagnes . Le personnel très accueillants . Le coin piscine excellent . Le buffet dîner un peu cher mais très très bon et très varié. Nous avons vraiment apprécié cet hôtel nous le recommandons ++++ Rien c’était parfait . Attention pour s’y rendre prévoyez un 4x4 car les 8 derniers kilomètres se font hors piste mais pas du tout infaisable.
• Urs (9/5): - Unglaublich schöne Aussicht. Zimmer stehen einzeln und alle haben eine Terasse mit Sicht auf das Tal.
• Dr. Michael (9/5): Beeindruckender Ausblick in der Höhe - Beeindruckender Ausblick. Schöne Bungalowanlage. Sehr nettes hilfsbereites Personal. Sehr guter Service und gute Küche im Restaurant. Zufahrt auf den Berg erfolgt über schlechte Piste - keine asphaltierte Straße.
