- Rozalind (1/5): Corporate needs to come to this location and experience the afternoon evening shift they are terrible - Stay was very rude and unhelpful. We couldn’t get checked in. I need to file an official complaint. They hung the phone up on me and wouldn’t answer my calls. Terrible experience. Has me second guessing booking with Hilton and using booking.com

I had to pay to add breakfast on. Then when we went to get it Saturday morning, they didn't open at 6, it was 7 for Saturday's and we weren't aware. I didn't get to eat and we had to basically take a few things and go because we had to be at a cheer competition venue at 7 that was 25 min away, so it was a little disappointing and I lost out on eating what I had to pay for over it. Pillows were a little flat and uncomfortable.

- V5155USpaull (6/5): Poor housekeeping lets it down - Poor housekeeping - normal service is every other day but we were offered daily which we accepted, in fact no housekeeping was provided when due even after complaining. When eventually housekeeping did service the room they changed towels, made bed in a very messy way, and sinks not cleaned properly, drain remained part blocked. Staff were friendly enough, breakfast ok when buffet on but cereal choice limited. On non buffet days when not many rooms let cooked to order offered limited choice. We booked this hotel based on review score but feel it is over rated let down badly by poor housekeeping.

- H6291FCjanek (2/5): Customer Service Has Gone Downhill - We have stayed at this location frequently over the last 4 years. Previously, we thoroughly enjoyed our visits. Our recent trip, as very different. We travel to the area several times a year, always using HGI Robinson. This trip we were lied to about the room we requested, only finding out accurate information while enroute. We had more issues during our stay. It was marathon weekend, all other area hotels were sold out. As a result; we couldn’t change hotels. We asked the GM, Kristin Ingalls, to call us. We got a text, not a call. She offered some points, but never wanted information on our room booking, etc. This lack of personal interaction was evident throughout our stay. The only staff retaining the level of customer service from previous visits is Tammy in the breakfast kitchen. Upon our return home, we reached out to district management. We were notified Matt Gilluly, regional director of hotel operations, would call. That didn’t occur. Very disappointing how this HGI has changed.

I did not receive any room service throughout my stay . I had to go too the front desk for toilet paper and towels. I had to leave my trash outside my door. The room thermostat didn't work it stayed freezing. This was the worst experience I have ever had when staying at a hotel.

The front desk attendant was not very personable. She came across as robotic. The shower curtain had a mildewy smell as if it were not dried immediately but I dealt with it because I was only there for one night. I was mislead by breakfast included with my booking.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Solid stay for an unfamiliar area - My king room was cozy, the bed was comfortable, the couch in the room was extremely nice to decompress on. The bathroom was a fantastic experience. (The shower was almost decadent, with an excellent foot-rest for shaving and a gorgeous mirror.) My only complaint, and it’s truly a minor one, is in regards to the soundproofing and lack thereof. When sitting in my room, every sound from the hallway sounds amplified. (Granted, small children running and screaming already sounds like it’s being amplified, but at five in the morning, it was not a pleasant experience.) There was also a religious pamphlet stuffed under my door, which I believe was done by a fellow guest, as the Staff member I spoke to about it was very concerned. Small issues aside, Hilton Garden Inn is a solid stay; centered in a lovely combination of stores and restaurants that, if one is unfamiliar with the area like I was, are easy enough to navigate around, even in snow.

Only one note (and nothing really about the hotel) - a map will make it seem like you're very close to lots of places within walking distance. This being Pittsburgh, however, there are big elevation changes. You might be very close to Ikea, but you'd have to walk over a cliff to take the direct route. Just something to keep in mind.
