Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Gorgeous grounds and beautiful building! Some of the other guests were pompous and rude😡
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The Mansion is beautiful, but it is nine miles west of Saratoga Springs. Do not rent the last room, it is up three flights of stairs, and if you don’t duck you will hit your head on the ceiling on the last flight. Heat rises and the room was hot when we checked in. There is a separate AC unit in the room, the thermostat was set at 60 degrees, but the room never got below 75. The unit was so loud I joked it sounded like a B-29 bomber on the runway. The rest of the rooms were beautiful, the food was good! The upstairs room was a rip-off, at least in the summer time. The sad thing is that we paid the same price as everyone else. There were no windows in the room.
- Daniel (10/5): You must stay here - Absolutely fantastic
- Venera (10/5): - The feeling of home is what I describe The Mansion to be. Wine with guests in afternoon....hot breakfast choices served at a communal table in the morning. The rooms are beautifully furnished....the porch offers rocking chairs and a beautiful view of the fountain and rose garden. The only comment I have is that the A/C units are a bit weak...so if you are staying in July or August, please be aware....
- Verified traveler (10/5): Outstanding comfort and character - My husband and I stayed one night for a wedding near saratoga. The mansion was absolutely gorgeous and everything you would want to see in a 150+ year old home. Great character and well maintained. Lots of places to just lounge around in comfort inside the house (not that we had time). The A/C was a window unit and somewhat noisy, but it kept us cool and was adjusted to our preference. The bed was comfortable and beautiful, but also a bit noisy. Breakfast was fantastic: both cooked to order and continental style selections- all fresh. As with all older beloved homes, there were a few maintenance issues being addressed (like the ceiling in the bathroom had yet to be painted after repairs); and the third floor room, while very interesting, had an odd odor.
- Rena (10/5): - This was the second year we stayed at The Mansion and we loved it as much this time as we did last year. The people that work there are friendly and always looking to help you with directions, restaurants, etc. The Mansion itself is absolutely beautiful and you are guaranteed to get one of the most delicious breakfasts ever.
- Kristine (10/5): - This bed-and-breakfast was fabulous the stay was most enjoyable. The only suggestion that I can possibly make is that they need more lighting in the bedrooms
- Diane (10/5): - This was one of the BEST ever experiences my husband and I have ever had. The staff treated us like royalty and the food was FABULOUS!
Just a wonderful relaxing place to stay. Thank you to all who took such great care of us!!!
Sincerely
Diane and Mike
- Mark (10/5): Beautiful Getaway - The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms and mansion were clean and beautifully maintained.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great accommodations. Terrific staff!
- Rena (10/5): - Everything about The Mansion in Saratoga was top rated including the people that worked there. I am looking forward to finding time to back again.
- Shari (10/5): Oh what a Night (3 actually) - The Mansion is beautifully restored and full of history. The Venue is being used to it's fullest potential, and the staff is friendly, helpful and so proud to work at The Mansion. The second evening we were there there was an art exhibit in The Barn with fabulous appetizers and beautiful local art. Speaking of art, that describes breakfast as well. The chef is fabulous! Breakfast consisted of four to five types of fruit, and as many fresh baked pastries and additional assorted breads and cereal. Then, they had you choose one of three hot entries, such as a fritatta, breakfast burrito, french toast etc. The only suggestion we would make would be to install a new air conditioner in the room or allow the windows to be opened. The air conditioner was very loud, We could sleep with it but to talk was difficult. If the windows could be opened the air would have actually been more comfortable. It was the 3rd week of Sept. Please treat yourself to a visit to The Mansion.
- William (10/5): Great breakfast - Great staff very friendly. A true wake back in time
- Verified traveler (8/5): Elegant stay away from the crowds - We loved the warmth of our welcome and the friendliness of the innkeepers. The wine and cheese on the wide porch was the perfect end to a day of sightseeing in Saratoga. Breakfast was beyond our expectations. the selection was wide and all our choices were delicious.
- Everett (10/5): - Bed and breakfast done well
Staff and kitchen first class
- Lynn (10/5): A Lovely and Relaxing Time - We chose to stay at The Mansion to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. Not only was our room extremely comfortable, but this old Victorian house was so charming in every way. We enjoyed the lovely porch for our delicious breakfast and to have a glass of wine or two. The friendly and efficient staff went out of their way to make our stay so very pleasant!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Arriving at the mansion I felt like a trip back in time. The chef was amazing, and so was the rest of the staff. The room was immaculate. When I visit Saratoga this will be the place I always will stay. I have already booked next years trip.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful home, lovely surroundings (if a bit close to the main road), kind staff, delicious breakfast.
- Phil (10/5): Wonderful Experience - A great find near Saratoga. Staff was very helpful and accomodating. Great amenities. Fantastic Breakfast and a great old styled facitily with an interesting history. Will come back and recommend to others.
- Anita (8/5): Beautiful Mansion, but rooms need upgrading. - We came with friends to Saratoga Springs for a concert and chose to stay overnight at The Mansion based on previous reviews. The building and grounds are beautiful. The restoration of the first floor was done extremely well. The staff was absolutely top notch and the breakfast was terrific - you could even dine outside. Unfortunately, the rooms where we and our friends stayed were not of the same caliber. Although very clean, they were worn - some buckled wall paper, creaking bed, chipped paint, broken moldings. Not the comfort and quality one would expect from a "mansion" especially for the price, and also after seeing how nicely the downstairs was done. I do love antiques and old furniture, but that shouldn't be confused with items that are just worn. I can't speak for all the rooms, but I had expected a higher quality accomodation.
- Martha (10/5): antique beauty - It's like stepping into luxury from the past. Each room is appointed with museum quality furnishings. We were impressed with the thoughtful touches such as high end toiletries and a sweet treat each evening bedside. The chef prepared food is fantastic! What an amazing breakfast! The staff is extremely personable and professional. We go back whenever we can.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice. Food was awesome. Room very nice. Staff was awesome
- Bryan (8/5): Race Day and SPAC Night - Really interesting Mansion, absolutely beautiful if you like an old style house. Walking around the house was like being in the 1800s, loved it. The free breakfast was really tasty. Rooms are all completely unique.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Only place to stay when visiting Saratoga - Wonderful place to stay! Top notch service and breakfast was outstanding. Follow the directions given on the website, gps brings you the LONG way in.
- william (10/5): - it was an amazing stay
- Alan (8/5): Saratoga - Excellent stay, I would return but would stay in a different room
- Paula (10/5): Lovely - The Mansion is a lovely place to stay for very friendly and accommodating staff, super comfortable bed, and an amazing breakfast. A guest must be able to do stairs to reach the 2nd or 3rd floor rooms, and it is at least a 10 min drive to downtown Saratoga Springs, but my friend and I had no problem with either of these factors. Look forward to staying again sometime!
- M (6/5): It was OK - The location is a bit strange. And there is an unpleasant odor outside. I think fresh flowers throughout the inn would make a big difference rather than fake flowers. There were some fresh flowers. Our room was a bit musty. The breakfast was not very good. The staff was very friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff went above and beyond for us, very accommodating in every way
- Joanne (10/5): Loved it! - Beautiful building, gorgeous furniture. Staff was very attentive, breakfast excellent. Probably the only negative was needing a stool to climb on to the very high bed.
- Lisa (10/5): Remarkable - Staying at the mansion is an experience that is simply amazing. The mansion itself is gorgeous, tastefully decorated with beautiful antiques. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring every detail of your stay exceeds your expectations.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great atmosphere. - The Mansion and it's property is amazing. I would definitely go back. The hotel is booked solid for two years out on weekends.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful historical mansion - Staff was wonderful , breakfast was "Amazing" B&B is a beautiful Mansion in a beautiful setting . Our room on 2nd floor , facing a busier than expected road that made more noise than we were used to was the only thing I would of changed .
We will return but I will ask for a room on back side of B&B
- BETH (10/5): Overnight stay - Fabulous. Would return over and over again
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very nice B&B - Great place to stay. Our room was great but the bathroom could use a little update. Welcomed with open arms. Staff was friendly, great breakfast, would stay here again.
- Shelby (10/5): Loved it! - Absolutely loved our stay! My boyfriend and I stayed for the Dead & Co. show and plan on returning next year as well! Hospitality was great, breakfast was great and the house was beautiful.
- John (10/5): Outstanding GEM in upstate NY - We absolutely fell in love with the mansion. The STAFF was extremely attentive and flexible. The food was phenomenal. We will be back.
- Joan (8/5): A step back in time! - The Mansion is truly a one-of-a-kind stay. The property is well-kept and it was a pleasure to peek in every nook and cranny to explore a bit of history. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed for our short stay. Breakfast included more food than either of us could eat and was truly delicious. Bananas Foster French toast and a hearty farmer's omelette were delectable! We will absolutely be returning to the Mansion! Highly recommend,
- Hui (10/5): - It's the one of the very best you can expect! As matter of fact it's beyond your expectations!
- mark (10/5): A b-n-b that even hotel hard-liners would enjoy - The staff were great. We enjoyed a complementary glass of wine and snacks on the porch as we planned the evening. Breakfast was excellent, prepared by the chef who runs the catering for the many weddings they host.
- Howard (10/5): Beautiful old mansion - Beautiful old mansion from 19th century; great room with high ceilings; king bed and tons of beautiful cushions; a working gas fireplace; perfectly workable bathroom. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful when we couldn't figure out the fireplace and they got everything going. Breakfast was truly fabulous. Freshly baked blueberry scones, frittata or french toast, fruit, juice, excellent coffee, interesting and hilarious conversation. Unbelievably low price, probably because the main business is hosting weddings and rooms during the week and out of season are gravy. The grounds, rose garden, porches, lawns, etc. beautiful. About a 12-15 minute drive into Saratoga Springs. Yes, you can tell we were extremely happy with our stay.
- Maureen (10/5): - Have nothing but positive feedback about our stay. Mansion and rooms were true to their internet posting, staff was fantastic, breakfast over the top. The grounds are beautiful also. Will be back!
- Pam & Mark (10/5): Beautiful and elegant B&B - From walking through the grand entrance, and greeted by the very friendly Jamie, to our wine and cheese in the grand parlor to our Romantic King, very plush, very very comfortable room, to Rick, our informative chef, who shared the history of the mansion and the elegant breakfast served to us in the formal dining room, to the meeting of our new friends from NY City to our sad farewell to all, this by far is a 10 star accomodation and service. Our travel plans definitely will include a revisit to this grand mansion.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful B & B, immaculate, terrific staff - Fantastic! Highly recommend this B&B. Its a beautiful Victorian Mansion. The staff was very helpful. The location is great and the food was wonderful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful old mansion, close to Saratoga - Wonderful mansion, well preserved, many period pieces through the 3 story building. 10 minutes away from Saratoga (and the race track). Terrific staff. Experienced topped off with a wonderful breakfast. Would be my first choice next time I am in the area again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Really nice - Really nice hotel great breakfast bed was comfortable but shower and bathroom were really tight no where to set anything overall it was a great stay
- Sue G (4/5): Concert near by - It was a huge Mistake. Staff too busy to assist you. No one to answer your
Questions--regarding hot water, closure of the very old mini blinds and the need for tissues.
Breakfast was served with flies?
Not a good experience
- Anne (8/5): Anne - The breakfast was great. Too many steps to get to the room.
- Susan (10/5): Unique and lovely bed and breakfast - The Mansion Inn is a bit off the beaten track, but a lovely, restored Victorian home that is not far from Saratoga Springs. We stayed in order to go to a concert at the nearby Saratoga Performing Arts Center. The building and grounds are lovingly cared for, with gardens, flowers, antiques and even a resident swan. Friendly but not intrusive service. The best bed and breakfast breakfast I have ever had. Very reasonable price for the area.
- Paula (10/5): Charming B&B - This is a charming mid 19th century mansion. The beautiful grounds were very inviting. Wonderful breakfast that held you for entire day. The staff is warm and welcoming. The king size bed was very comfortable. Our room was well appointed. The only criticism was the lack of lighting near the sink in the bedroom making it hard to see for shaving and applying makeup.
