Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Considering it was mid-week, off season, things were great. Russell made sure I was in good shape, even with arriving after the front desk closed.
- Richard (10/5): Just lovely. - We love the Crown and Anchor! Even in the off-season, there is always something happening. The staff are lovely, the rooms are quiet. It's hard to deny why it is a staple in PTown. Looking forward to our next stay!
- Stephen (10/5): Perfect - What a great stay. Little Ricky could not have been more hospitable.
- Suzy (8/5): - It’s an older property but clean and comfortable. It was in a great location and accessible to everything downtown. We would definitely stay there again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - great location in the middle of the action. hotel had charm. every thing was easy except parking, which is understandable with the location. they made arrangements for free parking a short distance away.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Carpets could use a good cleaning, but overall a very nice place right in the middle of Commercial St.
- Verified traveler (8/5): They mean it when they warn you it is LOUD - This hotel is in a fantastic location, the decor of the rooms is delightful (although some of the layouts are a bit quirky). TV and wifi are up to modern standards.
The only downside is that the sea view rooms are phenomenally LOUD. In all fairness, they warn you about this repeatedly before and after you reserve. Take this warning seriously. This is not just normal loud, this is trying to sleep in a booth at a dance club loud.
- Aristeo (10/5): - I booked this hotel to unwind from work and I had a great time. It was quite expensive considering its peak season but its so worth it. Janet who I believe, manages the hotel is very good, accommodating and approachable. The room was very clean and the location of the hotel is right on the beach. Thank you again to the staff of the Crown and Anchor Inn. I highly recommend this hotel for relaxation and sightseeing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I liked everything about it, the inside and out. The furniture and the doors, the real key to open the door. The fact that if you come in after a certain time you need to open the exterior door with your key. I loved it. I thought that Janet was a very nice woman. I thought that Russell was sweet and caring, and helped me with things for me to do in P’town, times and etc. I was there to see John Lloyd Young who was awesome. I try to see him as much as I can, thank you so much. I also like the fact that when I leave my room and come back it’s already cleaned. Thank you for a perfect stay. xo Love, Laraine
- Patricia (10/5): Great Hotel, Great Time. - If you like to watch people, The location was fabulous, you are in the middle of everything. The only drawback if you came to town by car, is there is no parking at the hotel. It isn’t a big issue since you are within walking distance of almost everything.
- Donald (10/5): Don’t hesitate to book now! - Janet, our hostess, is the best!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Let me start off by saying, I NEVER leave reviews. However, I enjoyed staying at the Crown & Anchor so much, I wanted to share my thoughts. Everyone is incredibly kind, sweet, informative, as well as attentive. I will definitely stay there again in the future and encourage everyone to do the same.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Location was perfect very central to downtown nice staff and clean rooms
- Steve (8/5): Wonderful stay - Nice clean and spacious room
- William W (10/5): Really enjoyed my stay - Big room with desk & chairs and view of the Harbor & Pool. Just feet to restaurants and shopping. elevator.full size coffee pot.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Simple, clean, centrally located, can be noisy at high season
- Marilyn (8/5): Friendly Staff, Early Check-in. - Friendly staff. We were able to check in an hour early. Room had a very strong smell (cologne?) but was clean. Excellent location to walk to most attractions.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Old but well maintained. Great location. Would stay again.
- Pam (8/5): - Great location right in the middle of everything. Easy to walk to shops and restaurants. We were told it could be very noisy because of the bar and club downstairs, but we lucked out and there was nothing going on the night we were there.
- EddyRomero (10/5): - Excellent place to stay that is right in the middle of everything
- Steve (10/5): - Perfect location Great friendly staff Cost comfortable room. Room rates are a bargain compared to other places and this is the 6th year we have visited PROVINCETOWN. Would definitely stay here again.

- Dina (8/5): Serene mixed with fun!!! - I went here for a few days to get out of the city, though the crowd hasn’t yet arrived on Commercial Street it was a relaxing, beautiful stay. The staff remembers your name which is really important for me when getting out of the city...it’s clean and quiet...
- Nanci (10/5): - Our stay was great! Being "off" season, things were quiet. Our room was very comfortable - loved the fireplace and view from our balcony. Coffee and breakfast were left in the lobby for us each morning. Location was perfect - within easy walking distance to parking, shops, places to eat, etc.
- Douglas (10/5): Nice place close to everything - Nice place in the heart of ptown. Friendly service and latge comfortable bed.
- J (10/5): Excellent place to stay in Ptown - Central location, friendly staff. Highly recommended
- Sue Ann Linda (10/5): Nice hotel with great entertainment and bars. - In the cold of this January this was a warm oasis. Suede show great bartenders and comfortable warm room
Central in town convenience.
- JC (8/5): Very central in Provincetown - smack middle! - Enjoyed the entertainment complex downstairs - Piano Bar, 2 theaters, disco and bar
Very central location in downtown Provincetown
- kevin (8/5): Great hotel in the heart of town - Great place to stay friendly staff comfortable rooms and very clean walk to anything only drawback no parking but that would not keep me from returning
- Cary (10/5): - I've been wanting to stay at the Crown & Anchor for years and was not disappointed. The location can't be beat- very centrally located on Commercial Street. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a discount room with no view to really speak of, but that did not take away from our experience. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was fine. I thought is would be cleaner the rugs and walls were dirty.
- Leslie (6/5): - OVERRATED and OVERPRICED hotel. The location is perfect BUT hotel amenities are lacking. The room was clean but just a very basic, very tired room....the 2 lamps had lightbulbs that were probably no more than 25 watts (3-way bulbs could have been used but weren't), no stationery/pen, no mini fridge, peeling paint in the bathroom, room keys are the old type (can easily be duplicated), no "USA Today" at your door in the AM, room décor/linens were only OK...nothing to indicate the price paid or the location right on the ocean, and the continental breakfast was just plain stupid: a coffee machine, store bought muffins wrapped in plastic, & OJ. No fresh fruit, yogurt, or bagels---VERY odd since there's a full restaurant downstairs that's a part of the C & A. There is an elevator...IF YOU KNOW WHERE TO LOOK FOR IT (down a hallway, thru a dimly lit stock/employee locker area)...no one tells you where it is since the "front desk" is on the 2nd floor.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Fantastic location on Commercial St - Fantastic location on Commercial St, in the heart of P-town. Easy access to beach, shopping, restaurants. Pleasant and helpful staff, comfortable room. They arranged parking for us and held our bags until check in time as we arrived hours early. Amazing that, despite its location in the heart of town, the room was very quiet and peaceful. There is a fabulous piano bar in the restaurant below this hotel. Though we never ate in there, the menu looked great.
- Donald (10/5): Simply the Best in Provincetown! - With the BEST location in town, the Crown & Anchor is a home away from home! A 5-Star hotel experience in a seaside town! From the owner to all the staff we encountered, they go out of their way to make you happy. Why would you look anywhere else? Book it now!
- Medha (8/5): - Adequate hotel in the heart of Ptown.
- Steve (6/5): Nice Affordable Place at the Heart of It All - I stayed for three days during Holly Folly in 2016 and quite happy with the overall booking process and rate I paid for what turned out to be a very large room. I was greeted warmly and was able to park briefly right outside the door to check in. I did have to park in public parking which was thankfully free all winter and I didn't really mind that. In the summer I stay at more expensive properties and perhaps have high expectations. I just felt like the place was run down a bit. The walls all definitely needed some new paint and the linens could surely be updated. The towels in the bathroom were grayish pink from so much washing and the bedspread well worn. The room and sheets were clean, however. The heating unit was forced hot air which I found too dry, but I was warm on some pretty cold days. The TV could definitely be bigger than the 13" one on the bureau. There wasn't much in the way of staff around since this was sort of off-season, but a coffee maker and coffee pods was available in the lobby. Cookies and candy on the first day, but nothing after that and no breakfast options - again due to the off season.
- martin (10/5): Wicked good - Halloween weekend lots to see at night.
- Solveig (8/5): Lovely stay in Provincetown - We loved the hotel. The staff is friendly, the room was beautiful and the bed was super-comfortable. The only downside was the boom-boom bass beat from the cabaret. Otherwise we would give this a 5.
- Michele (10/5): In The Middle Of Everything - The Crown & Anchor is smack dab in the middle of P-Town and this is where the majority of the shows go on from. I highly recommend the Drag review...the show was highly entertaining, the performers amazing & the tickets are reasonable at $27 a piece. You can't get any closer to the beach(they have their own private entrance), the pool was clean, the deck area very private with plenty of tables with umbrellas, or you can choose a deck chair in sun or shade. This is the place to come if you love food(I have severe allergies & everyone was very accommodating). The staff are fantastic here especially Anthony...you need anything, HE makes it happen. HE is the encyclopedia of PERFECT customer service & hospitality.
We tried to arrive in town when Mrs. Clinton was being hosted by Cher(not known to us at the time)and every street was blocked off. No cars were being allowed to disengage passengers let alone park. People were being herded into Commercial street. We ended up going to our reserved parking space, about 3 miles from the hotel. We called Anthony & explained we couldn't park, let alone check in. He took care of everything...called us a Pride Taxi, they picked us up & about 15 mins after our conversation we were finally able to start our vacation. Everyone we met in P-Town were friendly & helpful. Everyone down here gives you "your space" without being intrusive. We were down here for a "girls weekend" and able to completely relax. Very refreshing. A perfect Vacation!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Convenient but noisy - We were unfamiliar with the hotel and chose it due to its convenient location right on Commercial Street. But with a club and cabaret downstairs it was lively and noisy until after midnight.
- Matthew (6/5): - The pool closes at 5pm, which is very inconvenient. They close it for a "video bar" which does not get busy until much later. It is a waste that the pool only opened at 11am is closed so early in the summer time. It should absolutely be advertised as I felt I did not get what I paid for at all.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Crown and Anchor - Great location. Nice hotel and pool. Some of the room decor and amenities could use an update.
