Guest Reviews
- Erik (9/5): -
- Andy (10/5): Excellent - Great atmosphere lovely food great location Traffic noise but could not be helped!

- john (10/5): -
- Terry (9/5): A pleasant, comfortable inn oozing history. - The inn is a refurbished 16th century part timber framed building. It has been sympathetically restored and is very appropriately furnished and decorated. It is a pleasure to stay in.
Breakfast offers a wide selection of options which are generously served.
Staff were pleasant and accommodating in every respect. The room was a little too warm through the night.
- Dorothy (8/5): The staff were exceptional and the breakfast was very good and cooked fresh - Cosy classic English Inn
- Jane (8/5): Charming helpful staff , lovely room -
- Michelle (9/5): -

- Julie (10/5): Wonderful staff, big thank you to Kate, Kelly, Holly, Jaz, Lorna - The Queens inn , we checked in before 3, the room was beautiful, Sharon the manager upgraded us.
All the staff were very friendly, attentive.
The roast dinner was the best, would highly recommended this place Nothing disappointed
- Alicia (10/5): Lovely hotel, wonderful staff and delicious breakfast - Staff are a real highlight - all super kind and friendly, the service is excellent.
The breakfast is amazing, great choices and lots of homemade / local options Not really a criticism - there isn’t much to do in Hawkhurst, apart from go to the queen’s inn restaurant & beer garden - both of which are fantastic!
- Adele (10/5): Lovely couples nights away - We loved the location, with some little shops, bakery etc down the road. We had a lovely big room with everything you need, and a very comfortable bed. Lots of parking. The staff were all so friendly and attentive.
- Claire (10/5): Perfect stopover for what we needed - Friendly staff, great location for what we needed, lovely rooms & food. Nothing
- Stephen (10/5): A relaxing stay at this beautiful Inn . - A beautiful traditional British Inn . Friendly staff , lovely clean modern room , outstanding Breakfast using local produce and great location. Nothing
- H (10/5): Great 50th birthday getaway - Staff enthusiastic and polite.
Great room.
Great food
- Gail (10/5): A great place to stay. - The building is very attractive, the restaurant and pub are clearly popular with locals and understandably. There is a lovely garden to the front of the pub which is a super sun trap. The room we had was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom excellent. We were welcomed by an attentive member of staff and the food was very good. Our tv wouldn’t connect, we were too tired to find a member of staff to fix it, but we tried quite hard and in the end gave up. It wasn’t a big issue and I’m sure someone could sort it.
- HILARY (9/5): A perfect choice which made our stay in the area very enjoyable. - The room was well equipped and at a comfortable temperature. Fresh milk and water and were provided. Chocolate brownies too!
The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very clean.
The staff were friendly, helpful and well trained. The shower only had a large overhead spray and not a hand held one as well.
- Chris (10/5): Good Quality Hotel - Excellent as always. Good Room, Great Food and excellent service. Nothing
- Anja (9/5): -
- Malcolm (9/5): A Great family run hotel/pub who know how to look after guests - Warm friendly staff, very clean, great location, good food. Very popular with the locals. Always a good sign. Nothing
- Hamish (10/5): Comfortable, good food, handy for exploring the area, good value. - Courteous welcome and general helpfulness of the staff. Our room was large, the ensuite bathroom excellent and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfasts were very good. The general ambience inside and outside was relaxed and welcoming. It was all good.
- ian (10/5): Fantastic we will return! - We were upgraded to the deluxe suite which was fantastic. Facilities were great and we even had homemade chocolate brownie each that was in the room with the coffee and tea making items. One of the staff members went above and beyond to help us out with something (nothing to do with the hotel) which was very thoughtful of her. Plenty of parking spaces and although we did not eat there on this occasion, the food we saw looked good. The shower was more of a dribble but was just about ok for us. The room we were in was directly above the bar so as it is an old pub with wooden floors etc you could hear people in the bar below but was not a problem at all for us as we went out for dinner and once the pub shut it was very quiet.
- Elodie (8/5): -
- lewis (10/5): All good - All good - Thank you
- Toria (9/5): It suited us perfectly for meeting up with friends and exploring the area - The staff were excellent, friendly, helpful and always cheerful Service was slow on the first night and the next morning, probably due to a very successful Easter for the Inn!
- Guest (9/5): -
- Peter (10/5): -
- Adrian (9/5): Just lovely! - Really friendly staff, helpful, well furnished room , well equipped and modern decoration. Perhaps a bit more storage space if you were staying longer.
- Kristin (9/5): -
- Sara (8/5): Perfect stay for visiting local areas of interest - Beautiful place lovely rooms and very nice pub and restaurant.
Outstanding breakfast! Our room is as lovely, there was a very nice seating area where it would have been great to relax and perhaps read, but the lighting was inadequate so we weren’t able to use it
- Jonathan (10/5): A most enjoyable stay at a lovely old inn with very friendly and helpful staff - Staff were superb, especially the waitress at dinner and Julien.
Food options at dinner and breakfast very good Can’t think of anything negative
- Massimo (9/5): -
- Joanna (9/5): Very comfortable stay. Just the ticket - Nice looking room. Comfy bed. Good bed linen. Complimentary brownie! Breakfast very good. Friendly/welcoming staff.
- Linda (8/5): - Lovely friendly staff. Loved that there was fresh water and fresh milk.
- Rebecca (9/5): Comfortable, atmospheric & historic pub in lovely village. - Lovely atmospheric pub, tasty fish & chips. Bed was comfortable (pillows a little soft for our liking) & the chocolate brownies & fresh milk & LOADS of teabags very very welcome. It was lovely.
- philip (10/5): Very good planning another visit and will be staying longer - Staff was very helpful and friendly they couldn’t do enough for us How clean it was and the friendly atmosphere that the staff shown to everyone who entered the premises
- Philip (10/5): Excellent facilities run by exceptional staff - Outstanding customer service I’m not a great dog lover
- Helen (10/5): -
- Ami (10/5): - Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Wonderful staff.
Great food.
- dawn (7/5): Nice - Staff were really good No accessible mirrors you either had to lean over wide desk or straddle toilet. I made the suggestion that maybe
a mirror on wardrobe door inside or outside would be good for make up / drying hair
- John (8/5): Very enjoyable, nice hotel and pleasant staff - A clean room, well equipped, a bit smaller than I expected. The bathroom needs to have a shelf or similar at the basin. We had dinner both nights, which was good. Monkfish the first night but at £30 for just the fish and sauce, a bit steep. The pizza on the second night was excellent More room in the bedroom and a couple of things that would be obvious if staff stayed a couple of nights, like shelves and clearing the clutter (who needs a large phone on the bedside table)
- Paul (8/5): - Friendly staff Poor access to draws in room, milk and water provision. Little space in bathroom
- Michael (10/5): - Food excellant both evening meal and breakfast, Room comfortable, good size, immaculate and modern decoration. very comfortable.
- Justin (10/5): Fantastic location with super comfortable room, delicious food and wonderful staff. - Superb room, delicious food and exceptional staff Nothing, it was superb
- John (10/5): - The only issue was the lack of grab handles fitted in the bathroom.
Anyone, not just the ill or injured can access the bath safely.
- Annie (8/5): Great - Room facilities excellent, staff excellent
- Hudson (10/5): - We had an evening meal which was fabulous
- Paul (9/5): We were supposed to go out for dinner to a different restaurant, but couldn’t get a taxi. So we had lunch & dinner a - Very friendly staff & lovely food The only problem we couldn’t get a taxi.
- Sharon (10/5): Enjoyable and comfortable break with excellent customer service. - Greeted with a friendly welcome and complimentary tea/coffee. Enjoyed an excellent evening meal and first class breakfast cooked to order. All staff extremely attentive regarding food allergies and provided hypo-allergenic bedding. Would highly recommend.
- DONALD (10/5): - Lovely building and room.
Host was very welcoming It was all very good
- Joanne (10/5): Magical homely stay, staff are very welcoming and happy, room was spotless. Food was memorable ! - The food was incredible, maybe it's because the ingredients are locally sourced and they have a superb chef. Nothing was negative !
- Hans (10/5): Uitstekend verblijf - Ontbijt was heel lekker en uitgebreid. Het personeel was heel vriendelijk. Het avondeten was heel goed.
- Stephen (10/5): Delighted to have found you which satisfied her in doors - The room was modern, warm and spotless, with thoughtful touches such as a well‑stocked fridge, chocolate brownies and a high level of comfort throughout. The staff, without exception, were warm, friendly, caring and impeccably presented.
The breakfast menu offered everything from a hearty Billy Bunter–style feast to a lighter European option, and the bar had a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. We also enjoyed a delicious early dinner, which rounded off the experience perfectly Not applicable
- Sandra (9/5): Very enjoyable - Lovely decor and very friendly staff
- Bernard (8/5): - Very good staff
- Evie (9/5): -
- NICK (10/5): Would definitely return - Lovely delicious breakfast very welcoming and friendly staff
Lovely atmosphere
nice room
Great food in the restaurant
Great value for price Nothing a great experience
- Keith (10/5): We had not stayed at the hotel before but we certainly will stay again in the future. - My wife and I both liked the room and shower room. The breakfasts were excellent. The whole experience over two days was really good. Staff were always helpful. We liked the hotel and will book again in the future.
- Steven (10/5): -
- Rosalind (9/5): - Clean and comfortable accommodation , plenty of atmosphere. Staff were welcoming and helpful, always ready to answer any question. Restaurant was cosy, food was good.
- Steven (10/5): Absolute Jem in Kent! - Great food. Evie made our stay really pleasant! Everything!
- Jo (10/5): Lovely staff, lovely hotel. -
- Shuk Han (9/5): - 位置方便,酒店清潔,員工有禮
- Joanne (9/5): Luxury location to use as a base for lovely travel or just chill at the hotel. - Gorgeous decor in the bedroom, lovely cosy communal areas, delicious food, helpful staff, brownies in the room instead of biscuits! Fridge in the room is a great feature. Not much to do within walking distance. No little parks or anywhere to have a short walk (although plenty to do if you drive).
Would have liked a heated towel rail.
- Kyle (9/5): - Varied breakfast options should satisfy almost any tastes. Brownies in the room in the evening were beyond good…exceptional! Coffee could be stronger
- Martyn (9/5): Lovely place to stay with excellent restaurant - Very clean and comfortable Nothing
- paul (10/5): -
- Richard (10/5): Superb - Excellent breakfast, excellent dinner. Nothing
- Philip (8/5): -
- Teresa (9/5): Excellent - Breakfast choice’s excellent. Would have preferred a Softer bed - but realise that is just personal preference.
- andy (9/5): -
- David (9/5): Ideal overnight stay in comfortable accommodation with friendly, helpful staff. - Very friendly and helpful staff, spacious room, very comfortable bed and excellent breakfast with good choice. Small point but is background music starting at breakfast really necessary?
- JULIE (9/5): I would recommend it and if we need to stay again I wouldn't hesitate. - The room was clean, a good size and the bed was comfortable.
Breakfast fast was lovely, very good quality and arrived very hot and fresh. Everything is nice.
- Suzie Lateo (10/5): - Everything was amazing, we stayed for our sons 30th Birthday, rooms were beautiful, dinner and breakfast were fantastic.
The Staff could not do more to help you and very friendly nothing
- Sam (10/5): Beautiful property - don’t look elsewhere! - Beautiful property with very friendly staff. The room we stayed in was nicely decorated with a comfy bed and huge bath. Nice touches with the fresh milk delivered and brownies provided.
We ate in the restaurant three times and it was delicious every time. Nothing!
- Christine (8/5): -
- Paul (8/5): Welcoming, good food and comfortable - Food, comfort Steep stairs to bathroom
- Lewis (10/5): Perfect 1 night stay whilst in the area - Really great place to stay and welcoming staff . Brilliant service and such a lovely room . Bed was super comfy
- Mike (10/5): -
- Lee (10/5): Very highly recommeded with excellent attentive staff - Extremely clean and very comfortable, also the food was amazing. The evening meal was fabulous and what a gorgeous breakfast.
- Darren (8/5): -
- Malcolm (9/5): -
- Dean (4/5): wont stay again, lots of other places in the area and by far better value for the money. - Very disappointing , stayed numerous times , but it lost its appeal, wont stay again. Limited menu, and the shower in the room was appalling, could have P---ed faster
- Dorothy (10/5): A really lovely mini break, thank you - All the staff were friendly and efficient. Lovely cosy ambiance.
We were upgraded with our room which was lovely. Evening meal and breakfast were of a very high standard and beautifully served Nothing
- Anne (10/5): Perfect! - Absolutely perfect stay.
Great rooms.
Attention to detail is amazing - you even get ear buds if noise might bother you ( though I wasn't bothered and I am sensible to noise).
Wonderful staff.
Very tasty food.
Great breakfast I don't think there's anything that you couldn't appreciate. It's a perfect inn.
- Ian (10/5): - Friendly staff, excellent food, very comfortable bed, very clean room and well equiped. Absolutely nothing at all.
- Lynda (7/5): -
- Bettina (9/5): -
- Gary (10/5): Superb place in a great location - Just the best of everything. The staff were amazing, great food and drink and really clean. The room was great, nothing too fault. Nothing not to like
- Louis (10/5): Perfect !! Thank you - All of it , a really lovely place to stay It’s a beautiful building and everything was perfect
- Stephen (9/5): Excellent stay would return - Clean tidy, friendly staff Nothing
- Steve (10/5): -
- Fabiana (7/5): - The rooms are full of character but a bit wonky. Loved the bath products, they smelled really nice. Easy parking on premises. Nice breakfast! The stairs are quite high and uneven so I would not recommend it to someone with mobility issues. Some of the rooms are right above the pub so they can get quite noisy in the weekend.
- Simon (10/5): Great accommodation & food. - Very spacious room, nicely decorated. Great quality food, friendly staff. Lovely pub. Nothing
- Joanne (9/5): Lovely pub with great rooms and excellent food - The lady who checked us in was very friendly. The room was lovely. There was fresh milk in a thermos flask in the room when we checked in and both mornings they delivered milk to the room door which was great as I hate those little sachets you get in most hotels. There were also some homemade brownies in the room on check in. The breakfast was amazing with lots of choices. Nothing
