Guest Reviews
- Jacek (4/5): Would not do it again - Very misleading description.
I am very surprised that it has 8.8 rating
Old ,well maintained establishment of old English style in the middle of nowhere [looks like abandoned village] which is a tavern for few locals with hotels rooms attached to it. So technically you can call it a hotel, but is it?
Restaurant is run by same crew that tends to the bar and rooms and is open from 7-9 pm only with very limited menu.
We chose that property because of its rating and proximity to Paris airport because of early morning departure, BUT, it is located much farther from terminals. It took 50 minutes and 65 euros to get to the airport, so you don't save any time nor money by staying there unless you are sentimental about Celtic heritage.
Attn. Hotel staff encourages booking taxi for Uber not being reliable there. We listened to their advice, but checked Uber pricing and availability anyway and rate was 22 euro and wait time of only 6 minutes.
We took taxi.
Staying in regular chain hotel by CDG airport would be much more prudent.
- Kenneth (8/5): - Such a pleasant plae to stay within a lovely village. Far different than the hustle and bustle of Paris or the airport.
- Bruce Craig (10/5): - This is a really interesting property. There is no traditional front desk, at least in the evening. Entering, I found myself in a nice, inviting pub atmosphere, and I thought I might be in wrong place, but the friendly lady who was serving assured me I was where I needed to be and she found my reservation. Soon, I was in my older, clean, inviting room with character and a comfortable bed.
The petite dejeuner was very good, and was served in another dining room with a buffet, the common French 4 star hotel automated coffee machine that makes great coffee drinks, the usual petite dejeuner fare (croissants, cheese, jams, baguette, etc) as well as crepes or scrambled eggs made to order.
This properly is about 15 to 20 minutes from the CDG airport in a residential area Le Thillay. I will definitely go back. It has much more charm than most airport hotels. I had no problem getting Uber to go back to the airport for my flight back home. The property is non smoking.
- Samantha (10/5): Great hotel! - This hotel is awesome. I needed a place to stay near CDG airport and this quaint location definitely served me well. The room was very comfortable and spacious, and the air conditioning was very much welcomed in the summer heat. Service was great in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Convenient bus stop right in front of the hotel took me straight into the city. I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quiet place outside of Paris!
- Maritza (10/5): - Très bon séjour d’une nuit d’escale
- Hugues (10/5): - Les proprios sont super sympathique!
- Søren (8/5): - Very nice hotel, but the closest city (Goussainville) is absolutely horrible with a lot of threatening people.
- JEAN LOUIS (10/5): - Le personnel
- Stephen (8/5): Nice spot near the airport - Warm hospitality in a very nice hotel. Yorick was a great host that went out of his was to be helpful. Nice restaurant and cozy bar.
- Soontoberetired (6/5): - The food in the restaurant was very good especially the bacon cheddar burger. The service in the restaurant was good and the gentleman and woman in the pub/smoke shop were helpful.
The room could have been cleaner. There was one small bedside lamp in the room and the overhead lighting was terrible. We needed to use our cell lights to check we hadn’t left anything behind.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Proximity to CDG airport; pet friendly;nice restaurant.
- Amy (10/5): - Just needed a place to sleep before an early flight. This was fine.
- philippe (8/5): - tt ok
- Elaine (10/5): - The Hotel Le Celtic was a charming surprise. It's location made it an ideal last night in France. The village is near the airport but seemed a hundred miles away. The people were warm and kind, although their English was scarce. The restaurant was delicious and reasonable. Breakfast was filling. The room was small but clean and adequate with a large open window.
- LOUIS QUANG (8/5): Nice experience - clean and quiet room/friendly staff and quick and easy check-in and check-out
- Jarek (8/5): Convenient płace to stały near airport. - Very good for family 6 people can sleep without a problem for a room price in network hotels
- Timothy (10/5): The owner and staff are first rate. Very good food - Stay there close to CDG. The owner Hurig will drive you to the airport for a reasonable price
Can't go wrong staying there. Plus it's cute plus quaint
Can't say enough good qualities because there are too many to mention now
- Alex (4/5): Rude staff and I got charge double - Reception guy doesn't speak English, rude, and asked for a credit card to pay the room which was already paid online. When I explained this, he took the keys from my hand and started helping the next one in line, wow!, after that I did give him my credit card (I did not have another choice) and got charged for the room one more time. Later on we met the owner and he apologized about the double charge and reimbursed my money. Also, when I checked out, I asked to use the restroom and this guy kept being rude about anything we need.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazingly nice and accommodating - We arrived late and made a mistake on our booking. The hotel team and manager very nicely upgraded our room for free, were absolutely accommodating in every way and made us feel right at home.
The room was very comfortable.
We ate dinner in the restaurant downstairs and were very pleased with our meal.
Thank you so much team, we will be sure to recommend you to our friends.
- joe (6/5): Near CDG with a little character - The Hotel is part of restaurant and pub in a little town near the airport in Paris. The place and rooms are small but clean and modern. The price was good, staff friendly ( it helps to know some French) and the Wi-Fi worked as did the kitchen. Fine for a night or two. It would be a 20 minute drive to Paris without traffic and 10 minutes to CDG.( the road signs to and within the airport are poor so keep your head up)
- Russell (2/5): Flight cancelled due to airport attack? No refund! - Inflexible. My flight to Paris was cancelled because of the bombing at the Istanbul airport (I was to connect in Istanbul). The proprietor refused to allow a cancellation, even with advance notice and full knowledge of the reason I wouldn't show up. I had to pay 100% of the cost of the room. Hotels.com offered me a conciliatory credit of 40EUR, a nice gesture. The hotel may be nice, I don't know. The manager could use a bit of empathy.
- Phillip (4/5): Not good! - The staff was great, the room was awful. Food was left in the cupboard, the area was terrible. We were put in an apartment away from the hotel and it was very "sketchy". The food at the hotel was very good and the hotel staff was very friendly.
- Nick (10/5): An airport hotel that feels like France - An alternative to budget airport hotels, but with charm, character, and a great, well-priced restaurant downstairs. Arrange transport to/from the airport through the hotel to avoid gauging by Paris taxis. Staff very friendly and easy to deal with. Overall an outstanding experience.
- Angelica (8/5): Good Night - I had a good night, the place was clean and quiet. The Manager offered me the ride to the airport at 5:30am for 15 euros, which made it easy for me to arrive on time to my flight.
Bon accueil, restau sympa, belle chambre. Assez bien insonorisé.
- Alain (10/5): Best place to stay when flying from CDG airport - Ideal Hotel to be before my trip back (next day) to Canada. Since I arrived late I didn't have a chance to explore the village. I hope to do that for my next trip (may-june 2016).
Excellent cuisine, too (filet of Saint-Pierre, etc.). An a very good carte des vins.
- BR (8/5): Nice, private hotel near the airport. - 15 min from CDG airport - a charming place to stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice Hotel with great service - Very clean and the service excellent great breakfast local flavor. Owned by a great chef stay more then a day.
