- antonio (10/5): great location in a great spot - the location was great. on the beach, 5 min walk into town with restaurants and cafes. if you went to the marina, needed a car. you were 5 mins away from Montauk IGA, supermarket with everything you need. the room had a small fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, pots and pans and a small gas electric burner for eggs etc. only negatives were fridge didn't open out all the way bc of bed and the bathroom was kind of tight squeeze. but for the ocean view from balcony, location and price, I take it. I really enjoyed the hotel and Montauk. oh, there is a $35 per night fee to park, booking.com didn't mention that so whatever your price is, add $35 more per night to park.

- Leif (1/5): Great location, worn down building with a staff that doesn’t really care. - Location The place is run down and not maintained well at all. Needs a lot of work. Specifically our shower head was broken and only shot at the wall and up at the ceiling which was causing the ceiling to rot and drop paint/sheetrock everywhere. Not even a usable shower. Told the staff and they didn’t fix it or do anything to help over 2 days. Promised me a call from manager to give a comp and that call never came. Very unprofessional, very disappointed since it’s expensive!

October in Montauk- they were empty. Finally found coffee maker, but front deck indicated they ran out of coffee weeks ago. Beach chairs rusted through - screens pushed out in many places. Convenient for local shops and restaurants

- Thomas (6/5): - Nice view of the beach. Air conditioner was very noisy and old. It needs to be replaced. I mentioned that to the front seat and they agreed. So we slept with the sliding door to the balcony wide open and listened to the waves all night. Luckily the weather was nice. If it was hot out the A/C would have been unpleasant. We were suprised that there was no coffee maker in the room. I’ve never stayed in a hotel without a coffee maker especially for the price we paid. Location was good. Walk into town.

Liked having a refrigerator and kitchen sink Room was very outdated. Light in bedroom didn't work. You had to screw in bulb manually. The internet was very slow just a notch above dial up.

The front desk staff was super friendly and very accommodating, which made check-in and the overall experience pleasant. The keypad entry was a nice touch, as you didn’t have to worry about always having a key on hand. That said, for the price paid, we expected the room itself to be a little nicer. The sliding screen door barely closed and the glass sliding door didn’t lock at all, which was concerning. The bathroom sink wouldn’t drain properly and the large 5-gallon pail under the AC unit on the balcony was not very appealing. With some updates and attention to maintenance, this place could easily match the quality of its great staff and location.

- Sylvia J. (7/5): Great Location, But Rooms Need Better Maintenance - The Ocean Surf Resort is very well located, just a short walk from downtown Montauk and right in front of a beautiful beach. It’s also close to restaurants, shops, and cafés, which makes it very convenient. The staff is friendly and attentive, which is much appreciated. The oceanfront rooms are the most charming: the sound of the waves and the balcony to sit and enjoy the views make all the difference. On the other hand, the rooms that don’t face the ocean —like the one we stayed in— overlook the parking lot and lack any real appeal. In addition, the facilities showed signs of wear and gave the impression that maintenance is somewhat limited.

- Field (9/5): Would come back just to a different room with an ocean view! - Room was a decent size, there was a microwave, crockery and cuttlery and a filter coffee machine and a decent sized fridge which was good and the beds were comfortable. The pool was great for the kids. The main plus point of this hotel though was the situation. It was in the town within a few minutes walk of all the lovely shops, cafes and restaurants of Montauk and literally right on the beach. This was amazing! We probably had the worst room in the place as i think it might have been the only one that faced the car park rather than the ocean. It was tired and smelt a bit dampt in the bathroom - which was pretty pokey. The shower wasn't great either. The wifi was terrible and kept dropping out all the time.

- Sinead (9/5): Unbelievable location - The location was amazing. We were In room 2 on the second floor overlooking the ocean. The hotel itself is in the town and walking distance to restaurants and shops etc. the hotel is right on the beach and wonderful for a swim or just to sit on the balcony and watch the world go by. We could see other guests use the hotels bbq and benches and it looked great. It looks like half the bathroom was renovated, in around the bath has been done up but the floor tiles and tiles on wall around sink need replacing. They actually make the whole room look dated when in fact it is not. There were three of us in the room but they only give you two beach towels and there are only two chairs on the balcony.

The hotel is absolutely adorable and I was hoping for this since it was just a mother 87yrs old and Daughter 46yrs old on this trip and the rooms, pool, comfort, towels couldn't have been any more perfect. My mother had the most amazing time and hasn't stopped smiling and talking about our hotel. Even the staff- very courteous, very helpful and just overal extremely nice. Especially the gentleman who was cleaning the grills on Monday evening. He was showing us how to use it,places to go and he was very funny. We had an amazing time. Thank you all so much! - P9465YRelodieb (2/5): Extremely disappointed by this resort. - I have never experienced this in the USA. Don’t trust the official photos of the « Resort » . This place is falling into pieces. The screen door was ripped off on the balcon . They sent someone to repair it but the room we were in was shabby and old. When I mentioned our astonishment the réceptionnist told me people came back every year because they enjoyed the resort so much. Well maybe some people don’t feel frustrated paying $ 600 for a night for such an accommodation and that’s good for their business. Yet I feel I need to warn travellers and let them know about our experience.

Balcony felt very on top of each other and was very shabby (also a really loud air conditioner made it hard to hear the sea). The bed was really uncomfortable and the listing said a king sized futon but it was a smell couch. The location is incredible but for the cost you have better options in the area. If they do some renovations I would gladly come back. Staff were really nice

Die Unterkunft wäre eigentlich ok, wenn der Preis nicht so hoch wäre.
