If I come back to Sun moon lake I would definitely choose to stay here again. The place was also extremely safe and close to everything you need within a small walking distance. I recommend!
- Carol (10/5): - Very friendly staff. We checked in late in the afternoon. They took us through a shortcut to the ropeway station because they knew that it was about to close. We would have missed it if it were for their proactive help. Overall, we are very happy with the service, the condition of the property, the breakfast, etc. The only thing that could use improvement is their towels They were threadbare. That said, they were very clean.

- Carl (10/5): G - Stayed in the capsule room, mostly for the experience. I don't recommend the capsule because it has an ambient light built into the side of the capsule and it was hard to block. The proprietress was wonderful and friendly and took very good care of us. Great location. We walked up the short distance from the boat dock to the hotel.

- Catherine (10/5): - Very convenient, the public bus from Shushe to Ita Shao stopped like 100m from the hostel. I came for the Sun Moon Lake marathon, and the pick up bus, was also at this same bus stop, making it super convenient. The owners were very friendly and helpful. I was allowed to keep my luggage and use the shower facilities after the Marathon run, even though its past check out time. I had checked out earlier at 4am and returned around 1pm again to shower. The place is 5 mins stroll to Ita Shao shopping district, where you can eat lots of nice food. It is near the pier, and I took a hop on and off ferry to tour the various places. Because it is so near, I find myself returning to my room quite often to just snooze and then go out again. Highly recommend, it is a good hostel. Though not bright and modern at the receptionist, my capsule room was clean and nice.

- Richard (10/5): - We loved our stay here for many reasons: - Rooms felt new, and were clean and spacious - Great location, walkable to Ita Thao pier - The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful, and we were easily able to communicate through my wife's Chinese and google translate. They provided different, very good breakfasts on each of the two days we were there. There is no laundry in the hotel but there was a laundromat close by.

- Ian (10/5): - The hosts were very helpful, the room very well set up, close to the jetty and cable car, and we enjoyed our stay.
- Daniel (10/5): - This hotel is absolutely lovely. The interior with lots of wood makes it feel very warm and comfortable. Rooms are extremely spacious and we even had a tiny balcony. The bed was very comfortable as well. Instead of a breakfast buffet, you'll get served a fixed set of dishes and a drink, which is common for small hotels. Let them know on check in if you have special requests (vegetarian or similar). Slight downside is that on the second day, one of our orders got messed up and we got a few wrong things but it was still good. The staff (it seems to be family run) was super friendly and tried everything to make it a perfect stay for us. The location is very convenient if you arrive by the " around the lake" shuttle bus. After getting off at Itathao stop, it's just 1-2 minutes walk along the street. We will definitely stay here again during our next trip.

The hotel offers free guest parking. Rooms are clean and spacious. Our room has the lake view and a hot tub next to the window with the great view. The breakfast is good. The check-in and check-out are very easy. We enjoyed our stay very much. However the WiFi connection is not reliable.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - My absolute favourite hotel and favourite town in two weeks of touring Taiwan. Four nights was not enough - I will be back. The rooms had inspirational character and style. The timber even smelt amazing. The screen door on balcony was appreciated so air con could be turned off. And the breakfast was the best of any hotels. Note it is not a buffet so a bit of a lucky dip. Vegetarians catered for on request.

- Rick (10/5): Youngchuan Hotel Review - It was close to the pier and night shopping. Even though my Mandarin is extremely limited, the staff patiently worked with me through Google Translate. It was very quiet. Probably because it was during the week and there were no major celebrations.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Great B & B - Hotel owner is very friendly and helpful. This hotel has a feel of B & B. Woodwork throughout the room has a very aromatic cedar smell. Quick walk to the harbor and rope tram. It includes a filling breakfast so you can be on the go in the morning. The soaking tub is an excellent bonus.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely place to stay in Sun Moon Lake - This hotel was a great surprise. We didn't have much expectations given the location on Road 21, but we were inpressed by the warm welcome from the manager, and the nice, large and well equipped room. A lot of cedar wood was used in the construction, giving a very pleasant smell to the whole building. The breakfast (a set plate with salad, fruit, meat, bread) was quite tasty. Given how pricey rooms can be in Sun Moon Lake, this hotel offers very competitive rates . All in all, a very enjoyable stay!

Given that most shops don't stay open late, it is definitely recommended to find a nicer hotel in Sun Moon Lake so that you have a good rest!

- Annette (10/5): Amazing rooms in this beautiful hotel - I absolutely loved my stay at the Sun Moon Lake Youngquan Hotel and the room was just such a pleasant surprise. Really spacious and so beautiful so my only regret was that I only had one night here. The breakfast was really delicious and the hotel is in easy walking distance to all the attractions at Sun Moon Lake. The staff did not speak much English but tried their best to help using Google translate - can only highly recommend this place.

It does not look much looking the lobby but it has a lot of luxury built into the hotel. Next to the lobby was a tea and coffee area where the owner serves top of the line tea and coffee complimentary. All to make guest feel pampered.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This hotel was very unique and clean. The location is nice as it is just a block away from the main part of the city so it is still quiet. It has a nice view from the room, the breakfast is just enough and still light, and most importantly the staff is extremely hospitable. They were very nice and wanted to make sure you are taken care of, even after we checked out.
- Jennie (10/5): Beautiful hotel rooms in quite part of town - I booked this hotel on Expedia and I don't think the pictures do it justice. The family that runs the hotel was very helpful. Their English wasn't very good but they still were able to help us with everything we needed. This is a very small town and the hotel is located a couple of blocks away from the busier tourist parts so it's nice and quiet. We regretfully missed the breakfast so I can't speak to that. This hotel is gorgeous. Very craftsman-like. The wood smell is great in the room. The bed is hard but in a good way (I think it's just a thin mattress on a wood board).

Bathroom was large with tub, shower, and windows opening to lake view (we had the 6th floor lake view room). Location was convenient to the ropeway that connected with the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village.

Well pampered by the hospitality of the family who runs the hotel by themselves. Awesome breakfast too that you wouldn't want to miss for any scenery in Taiwan.

- Will (10/5): Lovely family run hotel in Ita Thao - Youngquan is a great hotel, made extra special by the lovely family that run it and took care of us during our stay. We had such a great time and always felt at home thanks to being greeted with smiles, offered tea and coffee, and helped in sorting out logistics like bike hire and onward transport. The location is perfect for those staying in Ita Thao which we felt was the nicer side of the river and convenient for cycling and walking. The rooms are huge, with a great separate living area for relaxing in the evenings and everything was super clean.
