Specifically, the carpets were stained and full of dirt, bathroom floor was dirty, there where cobwebs in the ceiling corners and the tv stand was covered in dust. The door hinges were rusty and the door knob felt like it was going to fall off. On the plus side, the bed was clean with fresh sheets and very comfortable.

• Dawn (8/5): Very good - I love the town .There is a beautiful walk close by . The evening was so quiet , it was almost deafening!!! The campground across the road is lovely to walk around. I needed a freezer for my ice packs which I didn't get . This was the only inconvenience.

Tv was not working but once we were able to find a staff member he fixed in right away. No one in the office when we arrived or the next am. Beds and bedding were very comfortable. Quiet even though it’s on a main road.

• GAIL (10/5): - We stayed one night. Room was very clean. Came with a microwave, coffee, small fridge, large TV. Love being able to park out front of our room. The parking lot and surrounding lawns were well cared for and excellent for dog walking. Other Family stayed down 2 blocks, similar room and paid $50 more. Highly recommend The Lamplighter. Very friendly, very nice people.

• Bristo (2/5): I sure hope things improve when their renovations are completed. - Close proximity to hospital The bed smelled like feces. I got in late and was exhausted. The sheets appeared clean, so I assumed the smell was coming from the mattress and slept on the other side of the bed. The next night, I was going to ask for a different room, but when I pulled into the parking lot, all of the rooms except mine and another that was occupied, were gutted, with all furniture, mattresses, etc lining the sidewalk and out in the parking lot. That informed me that I would not be able to switch rooms. When I got into the room, the same smell greeted me, and I saw that no one had been in to make the bed or add more coffee packets/cups. A very disappointing trip, to say the least!
