• DARIA (10/5): Один из самых уютных отелей! - Самое лучшее - это огромный балкон и вид на лес, моря особо не видно. Мы жили там неделю и очень довольны. Хозяину дома и его сотрудникам большая благодарность. Помогли с арендой машины. Интернет хороший. Чисто. Большой номер. Пляж около отеля один из лучших, людей мало, дешевый take away рядом, автобус тоже. Были как дома. Да, нужно подняться в горку, ну это 7 минут, спускались вообще за 2 мин. Но Сейшелы - это горки везде. Все супер
• Séverine (9/5): Een heerlijk verblijf in paradise! - Iedereen was super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Alles kon geregeld worden en ik werd in de watten gelegd met heerlijk verse fruit en een cocosnoot!! Verder was de kamer heerlijk groot met prachtig uitzicht op het groene berg landschap. Dat terwijl je ook vlak bij de zee zat.

Wir haben uns rundherum wohl und willkommen gefühlt und hatten wunderschöne sehr entspannte 3 Wochen in der Forest Lodge

• Federica (9/5): - We loved the place. The road to get there is uphill and, without a car, can be difficult, but once you arrive, you'll find yourself in a peaceful place. The owner was extremely welcoming, as were the two young men who helped us. The room was spacious and spotless, with a fully equipped kitchenette. We loved the large balcony, which we used for our aperitifs. A relaxing place. We highly recommend it. nothing.

• Nastja (10/5): Positive and warm atmosphere in the forest - Apartment is nice and clean with a superb balcony from which you see lots of green, feed birds and watch bats flying over a forest at night. The staff is super friendly with a positive vibe and very helpful, they great you with most honest warmth and kindness. Location is uphill, we were traveling by bus and didn't mind a bit of a walk (we travel with backpacks only). Good location to go for Anse Major trail and Beau Vallon Beach. We went also on Morne peak (buses 21 and 14). A kitchen could be better equipped. Some annoying dogs barking in the evening from houses around.

• George (6/5): Trivelig sted, men dårlig lokasjon - Helt okei rom og veldig trivelige ansatte. Utfordringen med dette stedet er at der langt unna der det skjer ting, tar ca 20 min å gå. Man evt. ta buss, men lodgen er langt oppi skogen så man må gå ekstremt langt. For folk som er litt ute av form så er det ikke så trivelig. Taxi er vanskelig å få tak i, man må kjenne en fyr som kjenner en fyr, som man har nummeret til og det litt tilfeldig om de kan eller ikke. Anbefaler å leie bil, da er stedet en helt ok rimelig løsning.

• Paul (9/5): Beautiful and quiet - The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The balcony was the star of the show, offering relaxation with a beautiful view of bats, palm trees, geckos, and numerous birds. Forest lodge is around a 15 minute walk from Beau Vallon beach, but the peaceful and beautiful location make it worth it!

• Aditi (9/5): Fantastic stay at Lodge - The lodge is located in the middle of a forest, which was very peaceful and beautiful. The host was very welcoming and kind. The location is a bit of a walk from shops and the beach (15 mins approx) but it can get tiring if you are carrying a lot of stuff.

They went above and beyond for our honeymoon (decorated bed and bottle of Proseco). A bit far from the Beau Vallon beach (2.8 km) but ok since we like a walk in the morning.

• Clark (10/5): Mahe is stunning. Make sure to visit the other two main islands. - The boutique hotel and location were excellent. The hotel is at the top of a narrow road on the hillside surrounded by jungle. There is a tropical waterfall and small pool just a few minutes walk down the road. Vallon beach is a few minutes car ride away and there several restaurants and cafes that serve till 10:00pm. Rent a car at the airport and deive the entire circumference of the island. It’s gorgeous. The owner and manager is a kind and good man. I recommend this wonderful boutique lodging.
• Matthew (9/5): Quiet, relaxing, yet still convenient stay on Mahe - I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Forest Lodge. Stephen was able to accommodate my request for an early check in and also helped arrange a pick up from the airport. Both him and Alam were friendly and welcoming. The property is located a short (but generally uphill) walk away from the main road and a bus stop, but for me, even though I didn't drive, it was very manageable, and I enjoyed the relative peace and quiet, as well as the opportunity to observe nature (e.g bulbuls and flying foxes) from my balcony, while also enjoying the convenience of easy access to the bus to town / Beau Vallon (you can walk there as well in maybe 15-20 min). The room itself is very spacious for a solo traveller, and the balcony was very roomy as well. -

• Nastassaja (8/5): I would recommend Forest Lodge to anyone visiting Mahe. Great value for money. - Stephen the owner is a great host. The staff were exceptional. A huge thank you to Alum and Suzon. They would have cleaned my room everyday if I allowed it. They were always friendly, helpful and generous. The photos do not do any justice, the rooms are better and cleaner than they look. WiFi was very good and location 20min walk to the beach. The area felt safe. As a woman this was important as I walked around a lot by myself. Not sure how this can be prevented but I had a few lizards in my room which I did not like but after my first week I started to get used to them.
• Mateja (10/5): Exceptional - Booking online is always a bit of a gamble, but the Forest Lodge is exactly as promised. All the photos are legit and it is indeed a very cozy guest house a bit away from all the noise, except for the many animal sounds from the surrounding beautiful forest. What we valued most while staying there for 12 nights was first of all the outstanding kindness and helpfulness of the manager and his staff. We were even lucky enough to have been offered a dinner, which was absolutely fantastic. As mentioned, we were very happy with the ambient and the abundance of space in the room/studio. Siting on the balcony and drinking your favorite morning/evening drink while watching birds and fruit bats flying all around is as good as it gets. We were surprised how well the staff maintain clean and tidy rooms as well as the surroundings of the house. We were also a big fan of the in-house drinks fridge, which is self-service. The only thing that could see some improvement in my opinion is the kitchenette. It is useful, but very basic. The stove is painfully slow. A gas stove or induction plate would be a superb upgrade. For some people, it should be noted, that there is quite a walk to the beach. There is a small local beach, but it is not as nice as the main one in Beau Vallon and it is not extremely close either. That said, we had no problem walking every day and using the bus. There is plenty of bus stops all around and it is a good way to explore the island. From the lodge to the main road is about 8-10 minutes walk, and a further 1 minute to the bus stop and another 2 minutes to the closest shop. The local beach is around 10-15 minutes of walking and the Beau Vallon beach is around 30 minutes of walking. If this is a problem for you, rent a car. There is free parking at the lodge.
• JEAN (10/5): Bon rapport qualité et prix - Séjour de 4 nuits, très sympa,a l'écart du centre ville, très bon accueil, voiture indispensable, chambre agréable, cuisine équipée au minimum, frigo et climatisation apprécié, nous avons apprécié la gentillesse du propriétaire Stephen.

Location is good. But if you want to walk to apartment then 500 meter steep uphill walk is necessary. If you have car then no problem.

• Nancy (8/5): Spacious room in a good location - Good location near the beautiful Beau Vallon beach. The room had ample space with a large balcony. There was no view but it was nice to sit out there and I enjoyed watching several geckos on the ceiling. Decorative touches included making the bed with folds and folding the toilet paper roll. However upon arrival the top sheet of my bed had many tiny ants crawling all over it which they remedied immediately by changing the sheets. I also found the bed and pillows uncomfortable. The rooms are on the upper level which requires getting luggage up the stairs though fortunately there is a bell boy to help. The kitchen had a frigo bar, stove burners, microwave, toaster and hot water heater. Although I was required to checkout by 10am I was allowed to use a shower later to wash off the sand before my flight which was a great help.

• Virginia (8/5): We had an enjoyable time. Our room was pleasant and comfortable. I’m - The room was spacious and it was in a quiet location surrounded by trees. The owner was friendly and helpful It was a steep walk up from the main road and the beach. There was no fan in the room.
• Eva (9/5): for our first days we were very happy! - the housekeeper and his colleague were very very friendly and helpful at all times. even drove us to the port at our last day for a cheaper price. the nature around the hotel was very beautiful, felt like in the jungle itself. only thing was the way home. had to walk a very steep mountain to get to the hotel (sweating is inevitable). you just have to know, it’s not that of a big deal. for a few days perfect, for longer we would‘ve prefer something more near the beach.

• Andrew (10/5): Lovely place to stay - Our host was very helpful. He arranged collection from the airport and took us to our next venue. He gave us a lift to a local restaurant where we had a buffet and ate plenty of delicious food at a very reasonable cost. The beaches nearby were dreamlike with white sand and tropical fish swimming around the rocks. We did a couple of local treks which were challenging for a 68 yo, but so good we did one of them twice . All staff were friendly and welcoming Didn't feel very comfortable walking along the roads as there were few walk ways, but the drivers were considerate.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Home away from home - Comfortable apartment with a big terrace facing west. Calm and quiet neighborhood in beautiful, lush surroundings. Excellent wifi. The bus stop and the closest grocery store is about 500 meters away, and two supermarkets with a larger selection of food can be found in Beau Vallon, 2 kilometers away. A small, beautiful beach which you will have almost to yourself is only ten minutes walk from the hotel. The manager Stephen and his family and staff are very welcoming and generous, and will help you with whatever you need during your stay. We felt very much at home!

Jouduimme ottamaan tämän lähes ainoana vapaana olevana matkamme kahdeksi ensimmäiseksi päiväksi. Paikka oli pieni mutta isäntä oli todella mukava. Järjesti meille lyhyellä varoajalle läheisestä majatalosta uudenvuoden ruokailun sekä vielä uudenvuoden yönä kuskasi meidät Viktorian keskustaan seuraamaan vuodenvaihdetta. Paikka sijaitsee ylempänä mäessä ilman merinäkymää. Kävelymatkan päässä on kaksi hiekkarantaa ja matkalla saa ostettua eväät. Olimme varanneet parin päivän päästä samalta rannalta isomman hotellin johon isäntä lopuksi kuljetti meidän. Kiva tuttavuus.

• Olivier (10/5): - We had a nice stay at Forest Lodge. The room was spacious and clean and Stephen was a very kind and helpful host. The location is quite remote (we liked it) and you'll need a car to get around but it's probably better to have a car to visit Mahe anyway.
• Mani (10/5): Lovely studio in forest surroundings - The property is run by a very friendly and helpful couple who went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. For e.g., when the studio wifi failed they set us up on their personal home wifi (which is next door). The kitchen was well stocked with the basics and the room and bathroom were very comfortable. However a car is essential, the hotel is located some distance away from the main road up a rather winding and hilly incline.
• Johannes (8/5): nice guest house, close to a nice cool forest. - the beauty of staying in small self catering guest house is that you get to cook and eat what you like esp. if you're on a budget holiday, further you get the attention you may never get from a huge establishment.
