- U176EBmikec (2/5): This was the most disgusting place my wife & I have ever rencountered! We requested a refund which was denied & tried to - This was the most disgusting place my wife & I have ever rencountered! We requested a refund which was denied & tried to work with Expedia who said they were charged & could not refund the amount! The room was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but stunk of smoke & what we thought were drugs, burn stains on the bedspread, burn marks on the commode lid, mildew in the bathtub, punched out repaired hole in the bathroom door, wall paint all scratched up, front door was filthy, there were old washers & dryers sitting outside, the office was a scary little room that you had to ring a bell or call 0 to get someone to help you! The owner manager didn’t care about any of this or our concerns! We turned in the key & did not stay, I addressed the co-owner with our concerns & he asked us to leave his property!
- robin (8/5): - This is a no frills small town motel so about all you can expect is clean and comfortable, which it was both.
- Niki (2/5): - Ants in the sink and floor. Generally unclean everywhere. I ended up just leaving because there’s no way I would spend the night there.
- Ashley (6/5): - The beds were very uncomfortable
- Valerie (2/5): Not recommended - The beds in both rooms were not the least comfortable, and in one room, sheets even had blood stains. We had 2 rooms. Both were not clean, one bathroom was missing the handle for turning the shower on and off, but they did provide very rusty pliers that barely opened to turn the shower on and off. The other room appeared to have had a prior client that had vomited on the walls around the toilet, and also appeared to have pee stains across the upper and middle walls in the bathroom. Our stay was so bad we did not stay the second night we had booked, opting to drive back home over 5.5 hours. When keys were returned we did notify the manager of the room conditions in each room and we were told they had worse to deal with in the past with little concern. Truly unfortunate and disgusting.
- Rebecca (4/5): - One towel, hand towel, washcloth per room. Did receive one more towel and request, but received no new or additional towels for 3 days.
- Lavonia (8/5): - It was good for the price.
- Robert J (8/5): Great access to Sam Houston National Forest - We loved the close proximity to the Sam Houston National Forest. Also pet friendly.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - The manager there is awesome they work with you they are great people it is a nice hotel
- amber (2/5): No toilet paper, - No toilet paper in room and only one towel.
They said they were out of toilet paper and would not give us a second towel.
- Glenn (8/5): - Friendly staff
- Verified traveler (4/5): Dirty - Rooms are run down and dirty. Flies in the room. Stained grungy towels, dirty tub and shower curtain. I wouldn't take shower here at all.
We didn't know this area and there are not many options in Coldspring, but we wont make this mistake again.
- Michelle (6/5): - Old, needed some repair, but semi clean. Ok place for the price and there really was not any other place close to the national park. Only one pillow per bed.
- Beverly (6/5): - Good
- Omar (10/5): - It's a good location for the price
- William (8/5): - Stayed for a bike race
- Robert (10/5): Will be back! - It was clean. The man running desk was very friendly and helpful. Good stay!
- Rick (6/5): - Wonderful staff in a very basic hotel.
- Kathleen (4/5): - Inexpensive... but the reasons why were apparent.
- Sarah (2/5): - The rooms was not clean! There were roaches everywhere and the bed linen was tore and stained up
- Verified traveler (4/5): 1 night stay - The room was dirty. Hand prints on walls and doors bathtub had a ring around it mildew shower curtain dusty surfaces spider in bathroom and mgr was condensending about it. Broken phone blanket / bedspread smell disgusting like urine
- Ronnie (10/5): - Peace
- Thomas (6/5): - Noisy long term tenants
- Russell (8/5): - Real nice clerk.
- Lisa (2/5): - Unfit for human habitation. We were booked for 2 nights, forced to stay one due to a commitment in town. We flew in and arrived at the hotel in time to go in, drop off our stuff and head to our event. After getting back late in the evening and having a chance to look at the room closer, we went to the store and bought a plastic mattress protector to fit over the whole bed. We also bought pillows and a blanket. There was a party going on in the next room half the night, which didn’t matter anyway as we laid awake, not wanting to move and touch anything. There was one towel and wash cloth. But that didn’t matter either because the shower didn’t work and there was no shower curtain. We had to wash up under the tub faucet. Bugs and filth everywhere. We packed up in the morning and tried to talk with someone in the office, no one around and no one answered the phone. There was absolutely no chance we were spending the second night there! I called Expedia to explain the situation and even sent photos. They attempted to intervene on our behalf for a refund for the second night but the hotel declined to refund us. I believe this is the only hotel in or near Coldspring. If you need to stay in that vicinity, do yourself a favor and take some advice. DO NOT BOOK A ROOM AT THE COLDSPRING INN!
- Stuart (2/5): Zero star review - Room stunk of insecticide and the door did not latch at all. They refused to give me another room and I stayed at a different property.
Worse than 1 star.
- Suellen (8/5): - dumpster area was filthy and the entire property was overrun with flies.
the young man that runs the place does a great job and is very personable.
- Krista (10/5): - It was a nice hotel and the clerk doing the check in was very polite and helpful. Would stay again and recommend to other
- Dawn (8/5): - Sheets were stained and old used soap in restroom
- josh (2/5): - I love this little town. I won't say anything mean but it was not a comfortable or cleanly stay. If these issues were addressed the stay would have been lovely.
- Barb (10/5): Roadside motel with charm - Nice night. Great bed, clean and updated
- Tracy (8/5): - Served the purpose for what I needed
- GILBERTO (2/5): - Nothing
- Daniel (2/5): - There was a chemical smell in the room coming from the sink that filled the entire room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The manager was the sweetest lady ensuring we had everything we needed. The only thing I would have liked was a coffee maker in the room.
- bryce (4/5): Should be called "Last Resort Inn." - Room wasn't ready when I got there, but figured it was a holiday thing, so shrugged it off. I thought that was as bad as it got, but the next day the staff member got rude with me when I couldn't access my room or find them because of their mistake. But it gets even better: my last day there I slept horribly, partly because you can hear the highway all day and all night, but more because of the loud pounding on the wall, which actually had me fearing for mine and another's safety.
You can steadfastly believe I'll be staying in Livingston and making the 20 mins drive to Coldpsring from now on.
- P8699JKrachele (10/5): it was well worth it & I would visit again ! - The management is amazing !! Very nice & respectful . The rooms are very clean, & always has plenty of towels, soaps & cups for your stay . I got a smoking room & it smelled so fresh !! Very satisfied
- STACY (8/5): - Staff was super accessible and friendly!
- Russell (8/5): - Close to my deer lease.
- Robin (2/5): - The room was filthy!
- Carolyn (10/5): - The manager was very reliable and helped us a lot in our family emergency. Very kind. The rooms were very clean and smelled great. Very cute and clean outside as well. Quiet area.
- kenneth (2/5): - Property is run down. Gave us our rooms when we arrived at 7pm then brought the towels. First glance at bedspread we new we were in trouble. It was stained as were the sheets and also had cigarette burns. Went to shut the door and roach crawling up door. Bathtub had roaches running around in it all night. Terrible terrible terrible
- Janet (4/5): - Slept well.
- Nancy (2/5): - we stayed exactly 5 minutes, the rooms smelled HORRIBLE, moldy and marijuana. No towels. bed spreads had burn holes in no smoking rooms. Said not dog friendly but dogs living on property (pooping in parking lot) wanted $10.00 deposit for SERVICE DOGS!!!!!!.Seemed like crack house. We immediately moved to new hotel.
- David (4/5): - The rooms are very dirty beds are very uncomfortable. There was trash on the floors and the bedding looked like it had nev
- Rodney (2/5): Bloody sheets and comforter - I got in my room to sleep and pulled back sheets and the sheets were all dirty and had blood all over sheets and comforters. The shower still had used soap from last person and not clean had cigarette burns all over tube where someone layed there cigarette while using restroom. The towels in room were dirty and stained and the drawers had old can goods and loose spaghetti noodles in it with old nasty hot plate.
- Donald (10/5): Great Family Owned Motel! - This is an older motor lodge that's been updated. Reba, the front desk clerk, was very helpful and attentive. Room was clean. Pillows, linens, and bath towels need updating. Walking distance to downtown Coldspring and right across the street from Coldspring High School. I would stay here again.
- Deana (2/5): No Go! - Very dissappointing experience!
Packed up and left.
- John (8/5): - only problem was awakened at 7:15 sunday morning by fireworks.
- Mark (6/5): - Room was comfortable. Initially, the room didn't have soap; office provided later. No shampoo and ice.
- Casey (2/5): - It smells and just nasty
- Jessica (2/5): - On my 3rd time renting the manager himself told me there was a 30.00 refundable pet deposit if there was no damage to the room. My deposit was refunded to me two times, once they checked the room, not the entire 30, as 5.00 was apparently not charged to me for one reason or another when booking. On another occasion I had stayed 3 nights on the 4th morning I was stopped by the manager in the parking lot who told me I needed to check out at 11 because someone booked my room online and he couldn't help it. He told me there were no other rooms available. I said ok, as soon as you give me my 90.00 in pet deposits, as it's 30.00 each day now, he said suddenly they're not refundable. It's a fee now, not a deposit. As they're the only motel in town I went online and lo and behold there were two vacancies with double beds. I booked one. So at check out I asked to check out and back in to the double room. He looked irritated and said there were no other rooms( first stating rooms are available online when they aren't is a deceptive trade practice) and did I want to continue in mine. I said no sir I need to leave so yall can clean it. For your guest whos coming today. He pretended to check the screen and ohhh they're coming tomorrow. I stayed two days after this and there were no other guests. The poor front desk ladies do their best to run this place with his policies changing to what suits him at the time. They Owe me 210
- Carissa (10/5): - I absolutely loved the clean country feel.. beautifully decorated
- Sandra L (2/5): - Booked online got to hotel the clerk tryed charging me again I no it's paid he had to call someone to verify it. Then gave me a smoking room which I don't smoke my partner does but smokes outside. Went to room smelt of smoke so bad went to ask them for a different room that isn't smoking he said I will have to charge $10 more because you are going from a king size bed to 2 twin beds. So declined went to room to set up and found the sheets were dirty an stained, no toilet paper, no towels and just a very dirty place. The cleaning lady was nice trying to fix things brought us clean sheets but overall a dirty place. Would not recommend.
- Jeana (4/5): - Nothing!
- Kimmy (10/5): - love this place we ride a bike always helpful when we are see local bands in this area
- Steven (8/5): - It was perfectly located for my visit to the area. There is no coffee (not terrible) but the room was quite clean and it was ready for me early.
- nicole (10/5): - Nice, small and quiet motel. Friendly and courteous staff . They have a fully stocked vending machine with snacks and essentials, Most snacks are fifty cents so it's very helpful for traveling frugally. Beds are very comfortable as well.
- Nora (10/5): -
we have stayed here for a week two years in a row.
And if the Lord don't come back we will be there next year.
The staff is friendly and very helpful. Last year the wheel came off my Husbands walker and they came right over with tools and fixed it. They are like family.
- Sebrena (10/5): - Quite safe
- Sebrena (10/5): - Nice and clean
- Sebrena (10/5): - Everything was and clean
- Wanda (6/5): - Too much noise from traffic .
- Judith (4/5): - As the only option in Coldspring we had no choice. I would rate this motel as 2 out of 5. Managed was not always available and there were no towels or toilet paper in the room until I went looking for them.
- Billie (6/5): Nice family place - Room was nice. Plenty of hot water. Well maintained. Nice fridge. Lovely kandscaping. Only issue was neighbors LOUDLY fighting 2 nights in a row, but management attempted to quiet them. 3rd night was perfect.
- James (8/5): 1st timer - The bath towels were of very low quality. No coffee pot in the room. The refrigerator was great. Parking just outside the room was nice.
- Trey (6/5): - Rooms were smoking and only had a couple of non smoking rooms. The sheets had burn holes in them from smokers. No hooks were in the bathroom to hang towels. Check in and check out took longer as there was no staff present.
- Christine (2/5): - I’ve stayed at there previously and it was wonderful. Second experience not so much. Maybe it was just an off day.
- Charlotte (4/5): - There was black mold on the shower curtain. The place looked like it had not been painted or updated any time in the past 10 years or more. No places to eat anywhere near the property.
The office staff was really great.
- ART (6/5): Coldspring Inn - Remove to bring your own shampoo and kleenex. Bring your own towels.
- Idana (10/5): Pleasant Stay - Old road side motel had been remodeled with comfortable beds and furnishings. We spent one night but will go back. Nice Mom and Pop place. Very reasonably priced comfortable little motel.
- Patrick (8/5): Relaxing - Great place to get some shut eye. Room was clean and the bed was great.
- David (8/5): Nice little spot - It was an older hotel but well kept in a very cute town. They had done remodeling which made it much nicer the only complaint we had but it's the towels could have been more plentiful and thicker.
- William (8/5): - Neat and very clean..nicely painted with good decoration..easily accessible. Friendly staff
- Rebecca (10/5): Great for a small town - Hotel was very clean. The remote did not work for our tv, but overall it was a clean nice place
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Late arrival, impressed that staff called me to make sure I was ok and if needed directions. They waited for my arrival. Lovely quaint Inn , rooms clean and comfortable. Felt very safe and close to restaurants and center of town. Will definitely staff here again.
- Michael (8/5): - Afordable, nice, and clean.
- Kendra (10/5): My stay - The stay was very relaxing! The staff was amazing.i would definitely stay again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Cold Spring Inn is not typically the kind of property that I would normally choose but it was the closest hotel to my son's Boy Scout Summer Campsite and the price was reasonable. My chief complaints are the following: Flies!!! There are too many flies. The hotel manager is aware of the problem but provided no solution to deal with them. The quality of the towels is substandard and one of my towels looked dirty. It's not that big of a deal but it would have been nice to have a TV channel guide. The microwave worked really well. The aircobditioner was super cool! I had to turn the temperature down. On the over hand, the airconditioner was a little loud.
- Robert (2/5): Be aware, the majority of these rooms are smoking - This was a smoking room and it was so smoky it was unlivable. I could not even go inside. I try to talk to the front desk person and he was completely unreasonable. I will be protesting this charge if hotels.com doesn’t help me. The wait time was approximately two hours on hold and I could not do that last night.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good value for the price. Beds comfortable, and A/C worked fine.
- 112bettyl (2/5): Price Gougers - Made a reservation on Orbitz and arrived at 9:00 pm. The front desk said I had a king, smoking room. We don’t smoke (didn’t even know smoking room still existed). I asked for non-smoking and was told he only had a non-smoking with two beds instead of a king and that I’d have to pay extra for non-smoking, even though I had to give up the king bed. No other choice than to pay this ridiculous fee since it was so late and non-refundable! Don’t bother with this rip off!
- Kathleen (8/5): - It didn't have the usual amenities like a coffee pot or shampoo, but it did have a microwave and refrigerator. Beds were firm and linen was comfy. No lamps, but overhead can lighting was sufficient. It's not the typical hotel that we normally use, but we will stay there again.
- SHALE (10/5): - It was good
- Clayton (8/5): - Great little spot for the price
- Carrie (10/5): Good deal - Friendly, clean, good customer service. Would happily stay here again. Sheets were clean, although they did have a few cigarette burn holes in them. No frills, no fuss.
- Peggy (8/5): - The hotel is a basic place to rest your head. Nothing fancy. Bed was comfortable. You can hear road noise if you are a light sleeper. I have a sound machine app on my phone and used it to drown out sounds. It was clean and the staff was very helpful and kind.
- Laurence (10/5): Nice place - Nice little hotel, conveniently situated for our trip.
- Tanya (8/5): - A good pet friendly place to stay that is easy on your pocketbook. The staff was welcoming and personable. The area felt safe enough for me to walk my dogs at night.
- Michael (10/5): - Clean and comfortable
- Stephen (10/5): hen you are in Coldspring - person running place seemed very nice. I even had problem with running remote (a first) and was very helpful. Location seemed safe
