The breakfast served in the morning was extremely disappointing, and I wasn’t even expecting much, but none of us could eat any of it because it was so bad.

We stayed with our dog and they gave us a room right near the back door which was very convenient for letting her in and out. I would stay there again in the unlikely event I am back in Vinton.

- Berenike (10/5): Friendly and Comfortable - The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms and hallways were clean. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was simple, but with enough choices to meet my needs (e.g., eggs, sausage, waffles, yogurt, toast, muffins, apples, oranges). Be aware that there is no elevator. This wasn't a problem for me but might be for someone else.
- K7107JQsamanthar (6/5): Cleaning better in rooms - The beds were comfortable but felt starchy at the same time. Also had black fleece all over both the beds when we arrived at our room. The toilet when we flushed it made a horrible after sound that could wake up a person if flushing in the middle of the night. 🙄. The shower curtain on the bottom right had mill do all over the corner of it. The 24 hour vending area was poorly stocked. Nothing like you see in the pictures online. Other then those issues we were good on our overnight stay.

- 1313Travel (10/5): Excellent Stay - Another excellent stay at Cobblestone, Vinton, IA. Staff is very friendly, courteous and very customer oriented. Rooms are very nice, clean and well maintained. Quiet facility with no road noise. Guest services are prompt and helpful with any requests. Highly recommend this Cobblestone if you are in the area.
- Sean (4/5): Hotel staff lied about canceling reservation. - The room was alright. The provided breakfast as well. I had a two day stay originally for my daughter's graduation from AmeriCorps but had to leave after the graduation so we'll be fore the checkout time, at around 10AM, I turned in my room keys and canceled my room for the 2nd day. I was told it was cancelled and that the refund request was sent back to Expedia. I asked for a printout of the confirmation and was told that was impossible because it was sent back to Expedia. That made me suspicious right there but there was nothing I could do. I came back about ten minutes later and again asked for some type of confirmation at all for my room cancellation, again I was refused one. I called Expedia today, over 24 hours after I cancelled my room to confirm my cancellation of the second day went through. They contacted this hotel and they denied my checking out early. (Not to my surprise.) Expedia refunded the cost to me because of my status with them, but I am terribly disappointed with the hotel staff and management not being professional on this issue. I am VERY glad I waited to do this review until after I got confirmation, or otherwise, of the second day cancellation. So the hotel is getting the review they earned. It's a pity. Moral of the story, don't trust the staff on cancellations UNLESS they give you a confirmation copy and email. ***Hotel, please correct your discrepencies and be honest. Your duplicity made an otherwise good stay into a terrible disappointment.
- Jenna (8/5): - We stayed for a wedding and it met our needs. It is very basic, but the property and rooms are decently cared for. There is a very nice park across the street. It even has a splash pad!

Also, the front door is locked at 10pm and you have to use the back door - while carrying luggage. The people were nice, the rooms are clean and its great for a 1-2 night stay.

More Recliners in hotels would make traveling much more comfortable! We stayed at Depot inn at La Plata Missouri best hotel ever for cleaning and comfort she had a recliner for at least one nights good sleep

First time staying at a Cobblestone, expected it to be more high end. Owners and managers seemed to be trying to get by on the cheap.

- Sherpa22363490642 (2/5): Lost reservations - We have stayed at this establishment every year, for nearly 10 years, to attend Vinton Boomtown event. Made reservations 1 year in advance for the handicap accessible room one the first floor. Yesterday when I arrived to check in the staff said the only room available was on the 2nd floor. My spouse has mobility issues and a 2nd floor room was unacceptable. Living 2 hours drive from Vinton the only option was to go back home following the fireworks event.. I expected better customer service. Big failure for the staff.

- 1313Travel (10/5): Outstanding Facility - Another great stay at the Vinton Cobblestone. Very nice facility and well maintained. The detailed customer service from everyone at Cobblestone, starting with the General Manager, to everyone we met was outstanding. GM was and is very customer oriented. Since we stayed several days, he greeted us daily and asked how he and his staff could make things better and if we were satisfied with everything at his facility. He sets the standard for all Cobblestone's to meet. Staff works hard to make ass guests feel welcome and appreciated.

- Antoinette (4/5): - When I originally went to book this property, I did so through the website and signed up to be a member in order to get the discounted price. The website wasn’t working. So I called directly, and they would only give me the max rate, even when stating I was a member. So I booked through Travelocity for the cheaper price. I would have chosen a different hotel if one was available. Upon my arrival, after check in, the curtains were missing the pull rod. The remote needed new batteries, and the room didn’t look clean enough, but I didn’t complain as I got in, with my children, at 1am. Sleep was necessary. Breakfast was offered in the morning, but not a great variety and the apple juice dispenser was out of order. Had to purchase apple juice for an additional charge. Laundry is also additional in fee, $2 for wash and $2 to dry. Clothes do not dry completely. When the city flushed the lines, they did not give guests notice to run water to remove the rust. So it was quit the surprise going to take a shower and the water ran brown. Upon checking out, I stripped the beds, only to find that the mattress cover had a spot of dried blood at the head of the bed. Whoever stayed in the room before me had a bloody nose or something. I did bring all of the above to the attention of the manager, but only and apology was offered.

The biscuits were so hard I could not cut them with the plastic knife provided. none of the equipment was turned on and the food was all very cold though there was a microwave I could use to heat it up. The orange juice that came out of the machine was not only watered down but had an almost chemical taste that forced me to spit it back into the cup.

- Kelly (10/5): - Located in a small town but a very nice hotel! Quiet and clean and friendly staff. Only issue is someone has their EV plugged in and the cord is running over the sidewalk with no signs to indicate a tripping hazard. ⚠️

I am a smoker who went outside to smoke but they charged me $282.50 saying that I smoked in the room because the housekeeper smelled smoke (which was probably on my clothes) and there was ashes on the windowsill (which the screen was broken and fixed with electrical tape). I would not recommend this hotel at all!

- 1313Travel (10/5): Very Nice Facility - Another very nice stay at Cobblestone in Vinton. Nice facility. Well maintained. Friendly staff. Good value for you traveling dollar. Easy access to area restaurants. Quiet rooms and very welcoming facility.

- Karena (8/5): Good stat - Clean and beds are comfortable Very early in morning, an alarm next door going off for 45 min. Asked desk person to call room was told they are construction and need sleep. We were annoyed and then he called.
