- James W (10/5): Exceeded expectations. - LARGE BATH, SEPARATE SHOWER, FULL KITCHEN, COMFORTABLE KING BED IN GOOD SIZED ROOM WITH TV, UPSTAIRS ROOM WITH 2ND TV AND PULL-OUT SOFA, BALCONY WITH FOREST VIEW. WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE?
- Lafleche (10/5): - Spacious for price.
- Hailey (8/5): Relaxing and serene! - I loved how big and spacious the unit was, basically like a 1 bedroom but with hotel feel to it. Everything I could’ve needed for cooking and staying longer! Staff checking me in was nice! Close enough to all the major trails and waterfalls nearby, (all within 30 minutes) It was misleading about the hot tub and sauna. The building I was in, was about 7-10 minutes away from the facilities. I do wish there was better outdoor patio furniture but it was still relaxing out there!

- Christi (9/5): We had a great time! - The location, the space, and the pool/game room. The beds were too firm for us.
- Alcorn (9/5): Great place to stay. - This was the 2nd time me and my husband stayed here and we have enjoyed our stay both times and plan on going back. We like that the rooms are like little apartments not like hotel rooms. It was quiet and peaceful. It was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The front desk staff was very nice helpful. We also like that we have access to the indoor pool, hot tub gym, and game room that you can access year round. We will be coming back. The only complaint that we had was the mattress being really firm but that is the case anywhere I stay, my back doesn't like really firm mattresses. The only other complaint we had was that the fans in the bathroom were extremely loud.
- Robert (10/5): Exceeded expectations - Interior was very clean Property is two floors and large heat differential between the two. No thermostat for bottom level
- Emma (10/5): -
- Randy (8/5): - Beautiful location Difficult to find the townhouse from the office.. the detour made it more difficult..
- Ty (9/5): - None
- Evan (10/5): - Room was very clean and spacious. Definite value in this area! Also, staff was super helpful when needed.
- Bethany (10/5): During our late summer stay we enjoyed hiking to the beautiful waterfalls (We saw Secret Falls, Bridal Veil, and Dry Fal - We loved the accommodations! Nicholas did a phenomenal job at check in! The resort’s recreational facilities were a short drive but had a lot to choose from. Ingles grocery store was not far away. The drive up to our unit was longer and more interesting due to road repair work thanks to Helene, especially after dark! Nicholas gave us a good map though.
- Sherry (5/5): The hotel is hard to find after dark and there was a person in my room. - The space was very clean and I liked that there was a full kitchen, as well as a washer/dryer for me to use. The main road to get there was closed. Because of a delay getting my rental car at the airport (1.5 hour line at Asheville airport), I arrived at the property at 9:30pm. I had to navigate through extremely dark back roads, with twists and turns to get to my room. The hotel was not able to provide an address I could put into the GPS to get there, so I had to follow a pamphlet they provided with different landmarks. This meant stopping in the middle of the road, putting on my interior light to read each step. After this very difficult drive (10-15 minutes from front desk), I arrived at my hotel room to find another person in the room. I called the front desk and they told me they did not know why someone was in my room, but the only option was to drive back to the front desk and get a new room. The drive was even more difficult going backwards and I got lost. I would have hoped someone would have brought me a key, given the circumstances. Also that the staff is most likely more familiar with these back roads than I am. By the time I finally got to my new hotel room it was nearly 11pm. I do not usually feel unsafe, but the fact that there was a man in the initial room I went to made me feel like I couldn't trust the general safety of the hotel as a woman traveling alone.
- Lydia (10/5): It was amazing and beautiful - Everything Nothing
- Cyrus (8/5): -
- Caroline (10/5): Wintery stay in a magical forest setting with great amenities and modern, clean condo! - The surrounding area was awesome. Magical almost. The condo we stayed in was great and everything our family of 5 needed. Ours was a one-bedroom, but our kids are young, so two shared the sofa bed (which was the best mattress we’ve ever seen on a sofa bed), and hubs and I and the baby shared the king bed. Everything was clean, kitchen had everything we needed, bathroom was great. I wish we would have gotten wood to make a fire in the fireplace. The pool house was great! We played ping pong, mini golf, corn hole, played a couple arcade games, and went swimming. We even borrowed a couple games from the main office. Everything was great. We want to give a shout out to Maddie to absolutely MADE our stay. Gave us a late check out because our little one was up allllll night. Then at check out she came out to say goodbye. Super, super friendly. This place is lucky to have an employee like her. Cons: they don’t allow kids under 13 in the hot tubs. We always let our kids get in the hot tub and we limit their time to 5-10 minutes. Just wish it would have been up to us to make that decision. I get it though…maybe a kiddo got hurt or something so they just made the rule across the board. :(
The older woman working behind the desk at the pool house was super hard to warm up to us. Made me feel pretty awkward at one point, but she eventually sort of warmed up as we left. It was kind of bizarre because the night we checked in the security guard was not warm, and the next morning when we went back to the office the gal checking us in seemed put off by my questions. Just a little surprising because the whole place was awesome minus that.
- Christopher (9/5): We will be back! - The condo was very clean and orderly. The staff were very attentive, as well. We loved the area and all the amenities that were included.
- Jared (10/5): -
- Marcus (10/5): - Everything was more than you can ask for from start to finish
- Maria (4/5): Unfulfilled since we booked because of the fireplace. - It was clean, the bed was comfortable, good enough to spend 3 days. When we booked this property, both the room description and the amenities list for the standard room clearly stated that it included a fireplace. This was the main reason we chose to stay here. Upon arrival, we were surprised to find that there was no fireplace in the room.
We contacted reception and were told that only deluxe rooms have a fireplace and that nothing could be done. When we pointed out that the fireplace was explicitly listed in the description and amenities for the standard room, the response we received was that they “don’t have control over the Booking listing.” That response was both frustrating and unhelpful, as it leaves the guest unsure who is responsible for providing accurate information.
To make matters worse, after returning exhausted from a 10 km hike, we discovered that neither of the two room keys we had, which were kept separately, was working. Any issue requires a 1.7-mile drive to the reception. After making that drive, we were told that this problem had already happened four times earlier that same day.
Overall, the stay was disappointing due to inaccurate information, lack of ownership over issues, and avoidable inconveniences that significantly affected our experience.
- Darlene (10/5): We had a wonderful family get away. We even saw a bear, went snow boarding and snow tubing. - Beautiful facility. Our unit was awesome! Very clean and stocked well. It was everything and more!
- April (10/5): -
- William (10/5): -
- Donald Paustian (9/5): - Very nice updated unit. The recreation facilities are little dated but we enjoyed it anyway. We also wish that we picked this stay at a different time of the year when trees would not be bare and maybe a little warmer. But there's nothing you can do about that.
- Angela (10/5): As someone who was looking to unwind and disconnect from work, this was exactly what I needed to reset and relax. - Everything! It was spacious and fully stocked. The beds were comfortable and clean. I could not fault this place. Additionally, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay! Everything was great!
- Lili Yah (10/5): - A wonderful stay! Will stay again. A great little apartment! Everything you need for a comfortable quiet trip. Lots to do! Full equipped kitchen. Clean!!! We loved it. Very comfortable beds.
- Yaroslavtsev (10/5): -
- Kelly (10/5): -
- Deborah (10/5): This was a nice option for a short mountain trip. The staff checked in by text to ensure everything was good. - Very clean, well stocked. Private patio. Can hear neighbors walking above you as well as their TV in the living room.
- Oscar A (7/5): -
- Ryan (9/5): -
- Constance (7/5): - Very clean and modern furnishings in the units. Comfortable king-sized bed, well-supplied full kitchen.
Friendly, helpful staff. Very slow internet service, tvs had no internet access or premium channels so nothing to watch on a rainy night and day. Two story units. Try to get a unit with the bedroom on the top floor. Ours was on the bottom floor and the unit next to ours was actually over our bedroom. It sounded like Bigfoot was tromping above us late at night.
- Kelly (10/5): - My favorite place to stay in Cashiers!
- Paula (10/5): Wonderful stay in a beautiful mountain town. - Check in was so easy. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Our condo unit was beautiful. So clean. Bed was very comfortable. Never heard any noise from neighbors. Location was close to everything, golf courses, hiking trails, restaurants, shopping etc. We loved everything
- Kathy (8/5): - great get away clean rooms and soft beds
- Wayne (8/5): - Nice
- Paula (10/5): - The condo is newly updated. Everything was wonderful, except for the pool is too far away.
- Charles (9/5): -
- Ron (10/5): Very nice rooms. The kitchenette set up was nice - Very nice. Clean and well set up. Check in location was a little tricky based on actual location of room.
- Gavin (10/5): -
- Jonathan (10/5): - It was excellent! We will come back!
- Michael (8/5): - It’s a nice place to stay. Nothing special and no great views. The brewery and the golf course are currently closed (August/Sept 2025). The check in is next to Cashiers and then you will drive to the condo style hotel room which is about a mile away. It’s conveniently located next to Cashiers and the one ski slope. It’s an average place to stay but an above average room. The rooms were very clean and well kept with a nice fireplace.
- Jorge (8/5): - All was well. The walls are thin, so you can clearly hear conversations/TV of neighbors.
- Bobby (10/5): It was great! We staying one night but we would likely be coming back in the winter time. - I like the suite. It was very nice! It was hard to find because it’s away from where you check in
- Penelope (7/5): Nice and relaxing getaway. - Beautiful location. Condo was very nice and clean. Wanted to use the pool but was way out of the way. It was not within walking distance. Was 3 miles from my condo. This was not mentioned on booking.com site
- DEBORA (10/5): -
- Susan (10/5): Clean, spacious and comfortable - We were just a few minutes away from the best Mexican restaurant, it was amazing! The beds and pillows were comfortable, the place was super clean! Plenty of space and everything we needed in the kitchen was there. We were very happy with our unit and would love to stay again sometime.
- Jeffery (10/5): - We had a beautiful suite, very comfortable bed, recently updated, very quiet beautiful setting from our balcony, in our suite we could hear our neighbors like they were in our kitchen. We were disappointed that the pools , lake, mini golf and all other outside amenities are back in town where you check in. But we loved our suite and would stay there again.
- Charles (10/5): - Very pretty wooded property in nice golf club
resort community.
- Michelle (8/5): -
- Dani (10/5): - Excellent stay, beautiful property that had everything we needed.
- Oliver (10/5): -
- Daniel (10/5): Adventurous. - The house/room. Nothing just there were a lot of up and downs due to the terrain.
- Nicole (10/5): 5 Stars! - Loved Fairway Forest! It is our go to place in Cashiers, NC!
- Kerri (10/5): Great mountain getaway - What a beautiful place to stay in the mountains! The two bedroom condo was quiet and comfortable and very clean. In addition the amenities were amazing with an indoor pool and 2 hot tubs and an outdoor pool, also a fun miniature golf course and ping pong and pool tables. The hospitality was top notch, kept checking back with us- changed rooms for us because of noise! A great mountain get away!!
- Robin (4/5): Nice inside but run down outside. - Clean rooms, nice bathroom. Kitchen was nice and functional. The staff was courteous and informative. Location was close to town. Loads of stairs. Outside of facilities were worn and trash and building materials all
Over the grounds. Inside was clean. The “livingroom” was no more than an entryway with a love seat and tv. Just not what we expected.
- Wallace (6/5): - amenities are across the road. we did not use them at all
- Tatiana (10/5): Perfect little trip, we will come again - Very comfortable clean, had everything we needed. Amenities even though little drive from property were great, lots of things to do for kids My only complaint is that we couldn’t use balcony, I was really looking forward to enjoy wonderful mountain weather. Hopefully they will repair them soon, for guests being able to use them again.
- Ioulia (9/5): A new favorite - Fairway Forest offers super clean, beautifully remodeled apartments.
Access to the private lake and pool with other amenities
is a huge plus. It would be helpful to have grills somewhere on the property, like featured at the Fox Hunt townhouses where we stayed the other year.
We were charged resort fees twice, by Booking.com and at the check in, but the issue was corrected after calling.
The bathroom door from bedroom was hanged somewhat funny.
- BRICE (10/5): - Loved the full sized Kitchen, the porch was lovely. It is a great getaway!
- Charles (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lee (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (7/5): Good -
- Ashleigh (10/5): Awesome affordable place for the whole family to have fun! - Liked how affordable it was for a family. I liked the pools and the lake was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. And the mini golf was included. We didn’t have to spend extra money everything was there. You could on arcades or on paddle boats on the lake but you still have fun without that. Family of 8 and a lot of them couldn’t afford to spend extra money so nice to have entertainment included for what sometimes a regular hotel or air bnb cost. The condos were very clean and spacious. Able to cook meals in condo. Felt like home. That everything wasn’t together. Had to drive across street to find rec center and drive to find lake.
- Jeannette (10/5): - The suite was cozy, clean, and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the towels were soft. Because they're working on road repairs, it's about a 15-minutes drive from the suite to US-64. There aren't many places to eat nearby, but the suite has a fully equipped kitchen
- Merry (10/5): - Difficult to find, but very nice!
- William (10/5): - Lovely accomidation. Modern, clean, and well maintained.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Twisty roads and unlocked connecting door - We found that driving up to our unit was concerning. It was a 2 1/2 mile drive on twisty roads that were scary. Apparently an easier way to access the unit was closed because of a road washout. Also, the connecting door between our unit and the other unit was not locked and we had to call for maintenance to lock it, so we couldn’t leave the unit until maintenance responded.
- Theresa (10/5): Excellent resort to relax - Quiet resort. Very clean & comfortable We were unable to locate the pool & other recreational facilities. We really didn’t stay on the resort much. We spent most of our time exploring the area.
- Marion (10/5): Hidden gem - This is a hidden gem. We were there for one night and didn’t get to use everything there was to offer. Hopefully we will be back.
GPS does not take you to the correct check in. For us it was across the street.
- William (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay and received great value for the accommodations. The staff checking in and checking out were great. The property is not as close to the check-in location as I thought but that was okay because it was situated in a very quiet place up on the mountain per se.
My only negative is the amenities fee charged for my one-night stay in which I really cannot use. Check-in time is 4 and the pools, mini-golf, games, etc close at 5. By the time one checks in, drives to the unit and then has to drive back to the rec center it's almost 5. Check-out is at 10 and the place opens at 8 but I am not in a rush to go do those activities at 8 am. Would have been nice if the amenities were available until 7 or 8 at least.
The price was right so the fee is not that much of a big deal other than I couldn't really use what I paid for.
- Valentina (10/5): Incredible - Amenities and rooms That in the description they offered me a sofa bed since we were 7 and the sofas were not so two of the brothers had to sleep in the armchairs
- Mollie (7/5): Beautiful location.but hard to find. Walls are paper thin and could hear children fighting next door it was a 2 story - It was beautiful. It was extremely hard to find. We spent over 30 minutes just trying to find our room.
- Donna (10/5): ful/ - Location in proximity to Highland was good. That was the ;ocation of the event we attended. Detour through another property was long and difficult with a truck and towing a trailer.
- Jean (10/5): - Clean and updated room. Comfortable bed. Good water pressure in the shower. Decent towels. Good shampoo, body wash and lotion provided. Full kitchen with full size appliances and dishwasher, laundry. Kitchen has dishes, pots/pans, silverware. Very comfortable and we felt safe. We had the deluxe suite which has everything on the same level (no climbing a flight of stairs to get to the bedroom). Would stay there again when going to Gorges State Park.
- William (8/5): Very good -
- Dallas (10/5): - Beautiful property and our one-bed stay was more like a condo. It was so nice and roomy!
- Banco (10/5): Clean, spacious, and great location! - Location was great. The condo was beautiful inside, extremely clean, and nicely updated. It was very spacious and had everything we needed. I loved that they had coffee supplies and provided a packet of laundry soap to wash laundry. I love when resorts or hotels communicate with you via text. That's so convenient and you can just text if you need anything. Love that feature. There was no bottom fitted sheet provided in the bag with the sheet set for the pull out couch. There was a mattress pad that was fitted and a top sheet, blanket, and pillow cases, but no bottom sheet.
- Johnny (7/5): Good -
- Dylen (3/5): Nice room but very disappointed overall - The room was nice. You had to drive to everything. Nothing is “on property” in the sense that it is walkable. I didn’t drive 5 hours to a place just to have to drive everywhere I went when I got there. I didn’t like the $22/day hidden charge for the lake and pool center either. The pool center is at a community center that hasn’t been updated since the early 90s.
- Rebekah (10/5): - I had a wonderful stay at Fairway Forest thanks to the amazing service provided by the staff. Cora Lee and Nicole at the front desk went above and beyond to accommodate my needs, offering helpful tips about the area and always greeting me with a warm smile. Moreover, Billie, the manager, was exceptionally kind and eager to assist, ensuring my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Overall, the hospitality I experienced made my visit truly memorable, and I can’t wait to return!
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Hidden Gem - Great front desk staff. Physical unit was a little hard to get to at first, but amazing inside. Well kept, very clean and spacious! Amenities are nice and keep you busy if you want them to.
- Kaylee (8/5): - Very cozy only thing that I could say bad was the walls are paper thin
- Albert (10/5): Great Stay - Good views and mostly quiet. Staff was great. Smoke detector is to close to the stove. always went off when cooking anything.
- Kathy (10/5): overnight getaway - room was very nice, clean and quiet. would have liked more details on the sapphire resort area
- Heyson (10/5): - Good
- Anthony (10/5): - It was amazing! I couldn't believe the space and all the comfort the unit had to offer, especially for the price point! It's truly an amazing deal!
- Dianne (10/5): Amazing - Exceptional in every way. Beautiful location, very clean and all the comforts of home
