- Rozaliya (8/5): Relaxing and quiet - Beautiful location and a very cosy pub and rooms. We were on a little weekend break in the Cotswold and this place offered what we needs and I can say it was a good choice. The staff is very polite and friendly and made us feel like at home. The breakfast was really good; we also ordered eggs Benedict, very tasty. Our room was comfortable, clean, and had plenty of tea and coffee, hot chocolate, milk could be requested and they would bring to the room. I love the big beer garden and also the host recommended a few places we can visit. I recommend the place and would gladly come back The bathroom floor could do with a bit more thorough cleaning around the corners by the sink, which were dusty and also behind the toilet seat. The bath in our room had some chipped enamel marks which looked a bit like a few big flies are in the bath :) (sorry that’s how it looked to me)

- Fernando (3/5): Not what we expected - The bed was good There is no celular signal in the hotel location. So our smartphones did not work. The TV in our room didn’t work at all; I was told that the problem was with the internet. As we checked in at 3:30 pm, I asked if we could change rooms. I was told they were fully booked and all but one room had the same problem. It is what it is! Nothing solved and no interest was shown by the staff.
- Martin (6/5): Good food, poor room. - The food was very good. The menu had unusual items, not just "pub food" and was well cooked and presented, with good service. Good range of drinks in the bar and a good wine list. Very nice bar and dining area. I would definitely recommend as a place to eat. Also has a nice garden area for the summer. Tea, toast and cereal were included in the morning but anything more had to be paid for and ordered the night before. The bar was pretty much empty apart from us so we felt that we had to go to our room straight after dinner. The room was very small, which we expected and wasn't a problem but it was in need of some updating. The TV didn't work - it appeared to come through the internet - which was erratic - but we couldn't get anything at all which wasn't great as we'd gone to the room so early. The bathroom was also small and definitely needs an upgrade. Small bath which had chips out of it and a shower which was just about OK. However the tatty window didn't shut properly and the radiator was rusty. Nice Bramley toiletries. If there are better rooms, we maybe could have been given one of those as there was only one other guest. We felt the room we had was overpriced for what we got so wouldn't stay again.
- Elfan (5/5): Disappointing - Aesthetically pleasing on arrival but having stayed realised the property is in need updating There was no running water in the shower or bath The manager did not apologise but said we did not wait long enough. There was no notification explaining that the water took a long time to arrive!!

- Mark (10/5): Memorable for all the right reasons. - Really lovely property in an exceptional location. Sherry & Jason could not have worked harder to make our stay memorable. Food was great, lovely atmosphere in the bar area. Great place for a weekend retreat. In a location like this, expect poor signals. WiFi in the hotel, but as soon as you move out, it’s spotty. But tbh, it didn’t matter.

- shaun (10/5): The location and relaxing atmosphere made this overnight stay exactly what I was looking for. - From the moment I arrived, I received a genuinely warm welcome that set the tone. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always happy to help, which made me feel relaxed straight away. A special mention has to go to the family dog, Cruz, who was just lovely and added an extra personal touch to the experience. The atmosphere throughout was comfortable and inviting, and it’s clear the team really care about their guests’ experience. Overall, a lovely stay.. happily return and would definitely recommend to others. Nothing

The rooom was cute and very comfortable, with a lovely window to look out of. The staff gave us great advice for our local walk and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a lovely escape ☺️

- Lindy (5/5): Won’t be returning. - Not that much. The full English breakfast on the 2nd morning was good. Luke warm shower in winter, not good. No wifi connection in the room only in the bar. Had to join some account that was a huge effort than didn’t work. The chef on the Friday night and the Saturday morning was not the normal chef and the food was not worth the cost of what was charged. Poached eggs that were hard, the host said yeah not the normal chef but you then don’t turn around and charge the price they did. The crab burger, smallest crab I have ever seen.

- Helen (5/5): Glad it was only for one night! - Character property, friendly staff Dirty carpets leading to rooms, dirty glasses on breakfast table, poor breakfast described as a continental breakfast it wasn’t cereals , only sourdough bread toasted and put on a plate, asked for wholemeal bread or just ordinary bread “we don’t do any other bread” overpriced desserts very poor.I sent mine back as it was nothing like its description.

- Clair (9/5): - We absolutely loved our stay at The Bathurst Arms. We happened to arrive later than expected but the owner's really kindly stayed up so they could check us in when we arrived, they were so friendly and welcoming, really lovely hosts. The breakfasts were really good and the meal we had on the Saturday night was delicious, especially the desert! The pub had a great friendly atmosphere, helpful staff and the location was perfect for what we wanted, we will definitely be visiting again.

- Joseph (1/5): - Dear Sir. To our great surprise the hotel was found to be very substandard and definitely not as advertised on Booking. com. Our stay of two nights for three double rooms had to be cancelled after one night since is was definitely not of a four star standard. Please refer to the below list which is also supported with photographs for your perusal. No internet connection service in room No intercom or telephone connection to reception Unacceptable level of dirty carpets and furnishings No proper fire protection primarily doors elevated by 2to 3cm above floor level Extremely small walkaround space of 25cm around bed. Broken lampstands and damaged headboards Dirty/stained fixtures and fittings. Window that does not close and lock up resulting in poor insulation. No air conditioning. Portable element heater provided with a high risk of being a fire hazard if left unattended. Tv was out of order. No shower hand held devise in bath tub. No proper wardrobe May I also inform you that although I understand that the hotel falls under the limitations of old heritage standards , it is also a fact that this property is definitely not protected for fire suppression ( not withstanding if it holds any form of certification) and does not reflect the description it is being advertised thus misleading to guests. La In this respect it is very important that apart from a proper investigation of this hotel, I would like to be at least refunded for the three rooms that were vacated for one night due to such circumstances. I reiterate the importance of looking into this matter with utmost urgency and hopefully have the necessary information updated to the benefit and protection of all the rights of future guests. However, it was close to a local wedding venue, which was why it was chosen and why it costs so much per night I must however point out that the food in the evening was good, as was the breakfast

The place had an incredible atmosphere felt cozy, and historic, and all the meals we had there were just perfect! It felt like home away from home… But even better!

The new managers are working really hard to upgrade the facilities - the whole place is a little gem and very friendly - and dog friendly. some of the bathrooms need a bit of an upgrade, but they were clean and functional and did not detract from our stay.

Unfortunately there were issues on both days of our stay with the hot water, so we couldn't wash as there was no water to the rooms. Apparently this is a legacy issue with the brewery and the previous Tenants, so hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Both adult and children’s menu quite extensive as are the drinks. Great drinks and food was very good. I had the duck salad and my daughter the burger. - Sian (7/5): You have to cut them some slack, I suppose. - Lovely comfortable bed. Staff at the bar were great, especially new kid. No hot water (or any indication of recompense when pointed out. (Apparently, the boiler had reset because of a power cut a few days earlier?) No wifi (it's a black spot). Band turned up for outside pub customers, which was directly in front of my room, and the window did not shut properly. The room wasn't serviced, so coffee cups, etc, were not cleaned up or replenished, bed made, etc. Didn't bother me, but it wasn't exactly an economy room! I gather the owner is relatively new, and it's not easy getting staff. Everyone I met was really friendly and working hard, though, so you've got to cut them some slack, I suppose..... Would I stay again? Maybe.

- BeastCat63 (10/5): A comfortable and delicious stay in the Cotwolds without breaking the bank! - My husband and I stayed at the Bathurst Arms for 3 nights. The room was small, but very comfortable. You just need to mind your head if you are over 6 feet tall! The staff were friendly and professional. The breakfasts, dinner and snacks in the bar were delicious. We did a couple of nice, short hikes in the surrounding countryside and there is a lovely old church opposite the Arms. It was fun mingling in the pub every evening with the regulars. Thanks for a great stay!

The bathroom had a lot of black on the grout. The toilet was brown on the waterline. Didn’t replenish tea/coffee tray for the following morning.
- Bar2013 (6/5): Sunday lunch. - So this was the walk today which was excellent set by Stickman and guided by Kitkat. Now the roast dinner review you have all been waiting for. I booked a table for 2 at 7am Saturday 3rd for 1.30pm Sunday 4th at the Bathurst Arms. Confirmed the booking via a text. We arrived back at the pub 12.45 on the Sunday excellent service cross the bar for a couple of pints of St. Miguel. Checked that the lunch was still good for the 1.30 pm booking, all good so far. Ordered another pint of St Miguel at 1.15 pm and ordered the Roast Beef and Pork belly for 1.30pm paid for the beer and both meals, asked to include the service charge of 10% which I paid. Total £50.99 (£4.64 service charge) Shown to table at 1.35 pm no one approached the table to ask about our order, so spoke to the waitress at 14.00 to enquire about our order and remarked the service was not up to scratch. She returned saying our food would be ready in 5 minutes. The gentleman who was serving behind the bar came to the table with £4.64 in cash, no apology. The meals turned up about 5 minutes later the Yorkshire pudding was with the pork not the beef? Asked if we would like sauces asked for apple and horseradish sauce which turned up 5 minutes later. My food was very tasty and all cooked just right, Sue’s food was also eaten but she wasn’t very happy with the pork. There were 2 pepper pots on the table so we swapped one for a salt from the table next to us, there wasn’t any salt in it. To round things up good service across the bar, tasty food, terrible table service and lack of attention to detail. Would I eat there again?…..you decide I probably will never go to that pub again.

There was no hot water for 1 full day and 1 morning which has not been acknowledged since my messages. I asked for a small partial refund due to the hot water issue (I had paid for 8 of my family to stay) . I also paid for 19 of my family to dine at this venue. There is also a noise issue (I assume from tenants who live above and the plumbers working on the boiler during the night) . If they had replied to my messages or offered some form of recompense I would not have felt the need to post this review No hot water for 1 full day and 1 morning. No form of recompense offered . Messages since stay not replied to Noise (both from tenants who live above) and plumber working until 01:30am

- Mark (8/5): Cosy pub and room close to Cirencester - Charming country pub with good food. Easy parking. Lots of information about local walks. The breakfast was particularly tasty and generous. Really friendly staff who try to help with everything. The room was very small but warm and cosy. Unfortunately, there was no hairdryer in the room, and no staff on hand in the morning before 9am to ask for one. Luckily, another guest stepped in to help.
- geoffw458 (4/5): Be aware of service charge they don't tell you about - The shepherd's pie was quite pricey at £ 20.00 each quite tasty but not much veg, watch you don't get stung by the service charge they add on at the till but don't even tell you about ! It's too late when you look at the receipt back home 40 miles away !
- Kibble (7/5): Good in so many ways but… - Dinner and breakfast were both great. location is brilliant for exploring quieter area of Cotswolds. Breakfast from 9 am? That could be expected at weekends but not on weekdays where breakfast from 7 am would be more sensible. Our room was not made up overnight and tea and coffee facilities were not refreshed, although they were happy to supply tea and milk from the bar. And finally there needs to be a guest lounge as the bar closes at 8.30 on a Sunday and there’s nowhere to go apart from your (quite small) room!!
- Thomas (8/5): A good base for our visit to see various locations of snowdrop gardens. - A very warm welcome with excellent food. We had evening meals for all three nights. Room was cosy. We could feel the buttons through the sheet so a mattress protector would have helped.
- John (6/5): A bit disappointing for £120/ room. - Building was decent. Owners generally helpful and friendly. TV limited channels and in 1 room only had shopping channels. No compensation offered. Kids could not watch TV. Also bar clientele swearing a lot so no go for a family.

- chriscP4337OI (10/5): Perfect Sunday lunch - Fantastic Sunday lunch, everything delicious and the veg perfectly cooked. The pork was the best I’ve eaten in a long time. And the staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend- as will our dog who was made very welcome. Puddings very good as well- shame I was too full for one but 2 of our party were obviously very happy with theirs!
