Vivian (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay at El Carmen Suites. We were welcome with a refreshing drink-which is a nice touch. The room is spacious, clean and the staff is friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and you have so many options. The view from the terrace is spectacular! We witness the volcano Fuego erupting. The lush greenery is beautiful. The room gets stuffy so a fan definitely helps. Some guests kept their doors open since it gets so hot in the room. If you ask, the staff will gladly get you a fan. The only issue is a foul smell that comes from the septic system at certain times of the day but since we mostly spent the day out it was not an issue but we did notice it when we return to the room. Overall, great price, location and service. I would definitely recommend.

Everyone had room for their belongings period we did not feel cramped at all period the bathroom was also very big and spacious. Appreciated the convenience of the hot and cold water at this location. Period the staff was also very kind and always helpful period the breakfast area where they serve also dinner was beautiful and had amazing views period the way that breakfast is included really was helpful and the food selection was had a wide variety. Period uh, we did walk to several shops outside of the hotel period he could really find anything in in that location period Landmarks that we went to go see or within walk range, and it didn't take as long to get there period we really enjoyed our stay here and we'll book again in the future. Period we'll also be recommending this location to family and friends

Malo, en realidad las habitaciones son pequenas y sin ventilacion, demasiado encerradas sin opcion de ventana o A/C, creo que podrian haber hecho un esfuerzo por un mejor diseno. Ademas hay un mueble que para lo pequeno de la habitacion la hace aun mas diminuta. No es totalmente primordial pero nunca hubo ni senal de cable o cualquier plataforma, llegaron a verlo y tampoco supieron que tenia malo. Asi que un dia o dos creo que pasa, pero de alli mejor algo mas comodo.

El restaurant muy bueno y la atención excelente.

They did not speak much if any English, but we did use translate options to communicate. The room was very small and noisy - we were on the main level by the courtyard. the restaurant was very nice on the rooftop with good view of the volcano. food was ok and a bit pricey for what it was. Not many options for GF, DF, meat free.

Be aware that since it's very quiet, you might want to bring your earplugs if you have a light sleep or difficulties to fall asleep. Overall, it's a beautiful place.

A little outside of the main town, but just 10-15 mins to the main square and means it quieter. Wonderful bfast on thé terrace with a great view of volcanoes. Room was cleaned every day which was appreciated.

Their bed was very wabbly, we approached the front desk next morning since we stayed 2 nights and asked to change rooms. When we came back they never made any changes or said anything why they were not able to change room. Other than that we loved our stay. The breakfast experienced was amazing! While we were having breakfast the waiter and waitress approached us to let us know the volcano was erupting and the service was top!!!

I think that the waiting area in the reception could use an update. The lamps, sofas decorations were probably nice and new like 80 yrs ago. Maybe needs to be more inviting! My 20 yr old daughter walked every day to the gym, market, and plazas/parks without any issues. Overall was very nice.

nery (2/5): - I don’t know where to start, this hotel is by far the worst, the towels were worst than rags, the toilet smelled, it was hot and no ventilation, windows were lock with wood and no fans available, I paid 240 for 1 night for horrible service and hotel.

Most of the staff is really nice and know how to quickly solve for any tile of requests, excel for this one guy on front Desk on Saturday during day time that would not be helpful at all and wouldn’t look for a solution other that “that can be done”
Ian (2/5): - The staff would not stop the other guests from basically partying until 1am then up again at 6am screaming and yelling in the hotel courtyard. This excited and is extremely loud. Also we reserved a private dinner and became aside show for the guests to look at and stand in front of our table and talk on the phone. This was our honeymoon. Extremely disappointed and unsatisfied with the stay

Also, you can hear the noise from the hallway and it starts early on a Sunday, plus the oily smell from the kitchen. A little over rated in my opinion.

As well, none of the rooms had clear glass windows to let light in, it was the upper third of the window with yellow glass. So the room was dark. Also, another detail - no bath mat. Really??? Not worth the price, so many other nice hotels in Antigua.
Daniel (4/5): - I will not stay there again. I had to leave a day early and I had to prepay. They disclosed that it was not refundable. I get that. But upon departure they charged me for two sheets they claimed were stained which they were not. They hadn't even tried to wash them. They did not have anyone who could speak English during this debacle. Fortunately my wife spoke Spanish but the entire conversation with her was even more difficult because they could not show her the stains they claimed existed. The incident completely soured the entire stay at the hotel.

Sumant (10/5): Tranquil Hotel with a Nice Rooftop - It’s a nice property and the staff are all super nice and accommodating. Breakfasts on the rooftop were reasonably priced and super good with generous portions. Short walk to the city center as well.
