- Marco-Elizabeth (10/5): Great location for city break - I booked this hotel for my son’s 18th birthday trip. Our first time in Barcelona. The hotel is really central. 10-15 mins from lots of main areas/attractions. 5 mins from Placa Catalunya which is where the aerobus stop is. The hotel itself was clean, comfy with the added touch of luxury with the rooftop bar and pool. Rooms not ready until 3pm but they will store your bags and even take them up for you when it is ready. Our room was perfect, the sockets by the side of the bed (one side only) didn’t work but other than that no complaints, lovely view too! Free mini bar, changed daily (beer, water and red bull). We booked breakfast for the duration of our stay (€16pp). So much choice, even fizz! Definitely recommend. We had drinks in the rooftop bar a few times, great cocktails and prices akin to others locally. The pool is small but heated and we enjoyed a dip (in February!). We didn’t try the sauna, but it’s free to use for guests. Generally, I was so impressed, great value for money and I’ve already told all my friends and family about it. If we return I will 100% stay here again.
- C548HXfranb (6/5): Mixed experience - This hotel is a lovely hotel in a great location. It has lots of positives - pool, roof terrace, lovely breakfast. Please be aware though that a standard room does not have a window to the outside world. On booking we decided that we wouldn’t pay the extra for a balcony but were not expecting the room we got to have no external window. We enquired about a room with a window but were told it would cost €30 extra per night or €60 per night for a balcony.The air con kept us awake with constant dripping and squealing all night. We loved the hotel in general but it unfortunately did not give us the lovely experience we were hoping for as the room was below expectations and not as described when booked.

Room was spotless free minibar with water ,beer and coke zero n red bull replaced daily. tea and coffee also in room...we booked breakfast, very reasonable cost with lots of food options...would 100% recommend this hotel and the rooftop bar and pool were lovely

- DonnaW3779 (10/5): Loved This Hotel! - They had our heart from the moment we checked in around 10am after an all night flight from the US. They told us our rooms were ready and let us go up early, which was SO appreciated! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were nice and clean, they provided a free variety of drinks in the refrigerator, and even had a live piano player one day! That may have been a Christmas-time special, but he was great! Only thing I wish would have been different is I booked the "city view" room and it was really more like a street view. I could see the street and directly into the windows of the building across from me. My friends were one floor above me with a balcony city view (6th floor instead of 5th), and that extra floor made a difference. They got really pretty views of the city and skyline for sunsets. But other than that, the price was very reasonable for the hotel quality and excellent location for being able to walk to anything. Lots of shops and restaurants close by. I would absolutely recommend staying here!

We had a great time could not fault the hotel in any way the staff were excellent so helpful, the rooftop bar was wonderful cocktails very tasty, and the surprise birthday Cava and cake in our room was a lovely touch. The location is perfect, central, convenient, and close to everything I needed. The rooms were modern, very clean, and comfortable, making it easy to relax after long work days. Service throughout my stay was excellent; the staff were friendly, helpful, and consistently professional. The breakfast was another highlight, with a great variety of fresh, high-quality options. Overall, a wonderful stay.

Room was clean and had great views across the city (only on floor 5 though so didn't see as much as the higher ones)! The shower was also great! All the staff were friendly and they gave options to leave luggage on my check out day without me even asking for them.

Excellent location close to Plaça Catalunya, El Born, Gothic Quarter and Eixample. Easy walk to all major sites. Very comfortable room. All amenities as described. Great rooftop bar and pool which we used daily as well as a Sauna. Overall this please is excellent. Front of house staff are always excellent and very helpful. Highly recommended

- Delta8 (10/5): City Break in a Fab Hotel - This was our second visit to The Negresso Princess. It did not disappoint... Fabulous Breakfast, perfect sized room but above all friendly helpful staff that who could not do enough to make your stay comfortable. We took the AeroBus from the Airport to The Hotel, which is located just of Placa Catalunya (5 mins walk), the hotel could not be more central for everything. A lovely touch on "Checking In" was as we were returning guests, we were presented with a voucher for welcome drinks and Tapas of our choice. We had arrived early and our room was not yet ready, so the voucher was used straight away at the rooftop bar... We sampled shops, took a bus to Park Guell (Remember you need to book your tickets well in advance), did a day trip to "Sitges". . The city of Barcelona is so lovely to walk about, full of character and charm. But heed the warnings on pick pockets. Yes we will be back again
- Sandra (8/5): - Negresco Princess is a lovely hotel with very accommodating staff, always willing to help when needed. We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is modern and boasts a large and comfortable lobby. The room was very nice with a comfortable bed. It did lack space for us to open our luggage as there was only one rack. The only issue we saw was in the shower. The shower floors and walls were black tile and a black stone like basin which visually hides black mold. If you look closely or take a white towel to the corners and edges where the floor basin meets the walls, you will find a large amount of black mold. I don't blame housekeeping, because I know that management doesn't give them enough time to properly clean the shower each day. Other than this cost saving measure by management resulting in black mold, the hotel was wonderful.

They provided us with early check-in, gave us welcoming tourist suggestions even mapping out directions to get there. They were so pleasant and helpful. The rooftop bar was a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The rooms were very comfortable and the free mini bar was appreciated. My only complaint is that the cleaner would knock on the room door and then instantly open the door to come in, not verifying that someone could be in the room. Overall it was a wonderful place to stay.

Artur helped with directions and tickets to attractions, making us feel very welcome throughout our stay. We had a spacious, quiet corner room on 6th floor. Which was perfect for our stay. Amazing rooftop bar/restaurant with views across the city. Breakfast was great for €16 a day for three days. Served 7am to 10.30am. Brilliant, central location with no need for taxis to anywhere. Would definitely recommend. Five stars.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Good location for many attractions that are walkable to. The room was ok size with street view. Lovely comfortable bed with great sleep. Loved the rain shower after a hot day. So refreshing. Mini bar with free content is a great feature. Not had that before. The rooftop bar is a great space with view of the Sagrada Família. The small pool isn’t much and really only good as standing and sitting in hot weather but a nice feature. Breakfast room was great with an excellent selection of hot and cold. Pan cake maker is a nice feature. Downstairs bar and seating great in the heat as air con is superb. Loved this hotel!

- 201daliam (4/5): Disappointing experience - Its really disappointing experience. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the room is extremely bad. Bed is squeaking all night we cannot sleep well. Towels are very old. Curtains are not well closed so we are awake from sunrise and tye most horrible thing is the noise from the house keeping in the morning while they are talking to each other or over their phones. Unfortunately I book my whole stay in the full week Would never book this hotel again.

Good facilities at hotel such as roof top bar and sauna. Staff are knowledgeable and able to make recommendations. Good location and easy to get to by Aerobus from airport about 30 mins bus ride away. Very clean hotel. Cons- roof top pool is tiny and not much space for lounging. The pool did not look very clean. We weren't given our wake up call which could of ended in disaster. Luckily we had also set alarms. Booked cable cars through hotel only to travel there to find the cable cars were not running that day. Requested refund.

The welcome when we first arrived was not full of smiles. This could be because we we a group of black women. However for a few days we were able to put up with some of the staff. Plus a rooftop bar! - We had a last-minute booking at this hotel, and I wasn't expecting anything grand for how much it was per night, in comparison to other hotels close to it. I was glad we ended up booking this hotel because we had a great stay here. Upon check in, we were greeted with such a friendly and smiling face, plus the complimentary champagne! The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The complimentary mini bar was also a nice touch. The one thing that I appreciated very much about this hotel is its location. Shops, mini marts, bakeries, cafe, restaurants, etc. are just right outside. Because it's close to many things, we did not take a bus or cab the whole 3 days we were there. We walked everywhere! Sagrada Familia was 30 minutes away. Casa Batllo was less than 30 minutes away. Cathedral de Barcelona was about a 15-minute walk. That means the entire Gothic Quarter is within a half hour walking distance. The furthest walk we did was to the Barceloneta, roughly a 40-minute walk. We watched a Flamenco show at the City Hall, less than 10 minutes away. Right outside the City Hall is the Plaza de Catalunya. The Arc de Triomf was only a 10-minute walk. Perfect place for people watching or picnic while admiring Antoni Gaudi's designs on the light posts and everything around. We didn't even realize how long we were walking to any of these places because we were so mesmerized by the beauty of the city. We didn't use the pool on the rooftop because it was still chilly when we visited, but we would have otherwise. Definitely check out the rooftop bar! Amazing views, drinks, and ambiance altogether. I cannot recommend this place enough! I would totally stay here again and make sure to book a bigger room!

The hotel organised a private transfer from the airport to the hotel (at extra cost) this was lovely the car was very clean and cool which is just what we needed. When we checked in the process was easy and went smooth. The room was very nice it could have been a bit cleaner there was lots of dust on the mirrors and the shower could have been cleaner but it wasnt bad at all. The free minibar was a nice touch and was restocked daily. In the hotel the rooftop terrace was great. Drinks were nice and the little pot of nuts they gave you were yummy. Staff were great here too. Breakfast was great too plenty of choice and always stocked up Overall this hotel was fantastic the location was great too central to lots of things which meant we could walk to most places. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Even when the country had no power the hotel had generators so were able to give is food as everything else was shut big thanks to the chef and restaurant staff as they were mobbed with customers looking for food as nothing was open.

The hotel is beautiful with an amazing rooftop terrace with a stunning infinity pool! Sitting at the bar with a glass of wine looking at the sagrada familia was one of my highlights! The staff were very friendly and even brought us room service for my boyfriend’s birthday! Very lovely touch! The location was perfect! Only 10 minute walk from the main square with all the metro stops! Would definitely stay here again! Thank you for making our trip so special and memorable!

Great location , sadly ,that was the only thing that was great .£ 200 per night I expected more .Room ridiculously small & cramped it felt like we were in a box so dark and depressing. Shower was the great first night then we couldn't use the overhead spray, as button was stuck .Shower gel holder kept falling off wall ...The chamber maid gave up & just left it on floor ... Our room was not cleaned until 4.30 on our first day .We sat in Reception waiting & waiting !! Room was clean , but No replenishment of hospitality tray during our stay . Pillows are synthetic & too soft . I wanted hotel to be great as my son has moved to Barcelona & this hotel is very close . Unfortunately it wasn't & we wont be returning .

Great shower pressure and terrific a/c (especially for europe). Only downside is alot of the rooms seem like they are courtyard view so not alot of sunlight in the room. But this didnt bother me and probably made the rooms quieter.
- Maddie (8/5): - Our stay was good. It was in a great location and within walking distance to public transport. It was also in a quieter area of the city which was nice. The only thing was we didn’t sleep too well. There was a strange noise in our room which was constant especially in the morning. It sounded like someone above us showering or water falling but it was so loud, it would wake us up in the morning - around 6am. We were also unable to open our window as it looked as though the handle was broken. When trying to change the temperature of the AC it would also revert back to a default setting of 22 degrees. While these things were annoying, we did have a good stay and the extras in our room such as mini bar, robe, slippers and tooth brushes were a surprise.

- Michelle (8/5): Four night stay - Our first trip to Barcelona and a Princess hotel. We would definitely stay here again as it had all of our comforts. The shower was good and very comfy beds. The rooftop bar was excellent. If we needed anything such as extra milk or larger cups (the little ones are not suitable for tea) these were promptly seen to. Our only gripe was that the hot breakfast foods were only like warm. We appreciate this is a worldwide thing in self service but it did seem cooler than elsewhere we have been. Apart from that and the corridor carpets needing to be cleaned and quite possibly replaced as the carpet at our door was lifting we were very pleased with our stay.

Free little mini bar which was restocked each day, if I had to pick a negative to this hotel would be there were no little sachets of coffee or milk...but there were tea bags along with green tea, so we just had black tea .. plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance , and most of the big attractions were around half a hour to a hour walk away.. would definitely stay here again if I was ever visiting 🙂
- 796shaniaw (2/5): Nightmare - We booked the Princess hotel for a good deal on love holidays. We saw a few reviews questioning the hygiene of the hotel and thought not too much of it as there were lots of positive reviews too. I wish we had and I seriously don’t know if some of the 5* reviews stayed in the same hotel as us. Our first room was disgusting and the second was not much better. Hair, mold, stains. The list goes on. We found urine stains up the walls of the toilet in both rooms and began to look for a different hotel to stay at. We spoke with reception who reminded me I only booked a standard room and these things were to be expected. Once I reminded him that the room should be clean regardless of it being standard, he apologised and offered us a third room to view and decide if we would stay. When we got to that room it was significantly cleaner than the first two but still not to a 4* standard. On the second night of our stay, we found stains on the fresh bedding provided by staff so had to remove the sheets in order to sleep as we got back to the room at 10/11 o’clock exhausted. It really put a huge dampener on our first night of holiday and not what I expected at all looking at the hotel pictures on their website. Even the corridors of the hotel looked as though they hadn’t been vacuumed for days and the staircase was filled with rubbish. The hotel had 2 positives which were its location and the fact you got free coke in the mini fridge. However, I’d rather the room had just been clean. If you are thinking about booking this hotel, please don’t. I promise there are other hotels in the area for a similar price that actually will offer you a clean stay.

- nancybG7527MK (10/5): Excellent! - Convenient location and a friendly staff. Easy check-in. The hotel is immaculate, and I was pleased with my room which had a terrace . Very comfortable bed with crisp sheets, shower with very good water pressure, and with all amenities (robe, slippers, shampoo, etc.). The breakfast buffet with a good variety and well-supplied in a nice space. The bar is also nice - I would suggest, however, they restock the Belvedere - only an empty bottle on the shelf. One thing to note is that there is no ramp to roll your luggage to the entrance / lobby from the street - only steps, and if the front desk is busy checking in guests, you'll need to manage getting your luggage up the steps yourself. This was my second stay here, and the service and quality were consistent. It is definitely my choice when visiting Barcelona!

It's very central to many of the attractions in Barcelona which made it walkable or a quick ride in cab or Uber. The rooftop bar and sauna are extra amenities to enjoy. Conversely, there are some plumbing issues that arose. I attribute this to the age of the hotel. The hotel is beautiful aesthetically, clean and modern. I would stay again.
- yin0nc (2/5): Disappointing Experience and Poor Service - We had a very disappointing experience at this hotel, primarily due to issues with cleanliness and service. On day 4, when we arrived 18:30 back in our room, our room was not cleaned – there were no fresh towels, no toiletries, and no cleaning to the room at all. When we called the reception they didn’t answer. We walked downstairs. After waiting 10 minutes they told us the housekeeping staff had already finished for the day and told us they couldn’t clean the room anymore. To make matters worse, we were informed that the cleaning indicator light was on, but it wasn’t. It seemed like an excuse to avoid cleaning our room. When we went to the reception to complain, another guest showed up with the exact same issue. His room hadn’t been cleaned either, and he also reported that the cleaning light hadn’t been activated. We were both out of our rooms from 11:00 to 18:30, so it wasn’t a case of missing the cleaning time. The bathroom door in our room wouldn’t close at all, and the glass shower door made loud popping noises, as if it were broken. The room itself was outdated, and the carpet in the hallway had several stains. The pool was also advertised as heated, but it was very cold during our stay. Probably not heated. On a positive note, the staff was generally friendly, but they were clearly understaffed during key moments, which led to long waits for help. Overall, we expected much better service for the price and will not be returning.

Our room was different from what you'd expect but large enough with a huge shower. Location is great for walking around may of the highlights of Barcelona. Service was outstanding. They even gave me a cake and Prosecco for my birthday. Breakfast was average for this type of hotel.

Vibe is fun and chilled. Mix of age groups as well which is nice. This was our first trip to Barcelona but it won't be out last and when we go back we'll be back here.

- JUNE (6/5): Disappointed - Check in was slow. We had reserved three rooms two were ready and one was not, however we were told that one room was available on a different floor to save us waiting. When we went into this room it was small with a huge pillar in the middle of the room, the shower was broken. We returned to reception and dealt with a very nice young man and was given a different room. One of the other rooms was a connecting room and the people in the room next door were making noise till after three in the morning. The rooms have basic amenities and are oddly shaped, some are extremely small and some are larger. It was raining one day and we asked if they had umbrellas only to be told by a rude man to go and buy one at the shop. We have stayed in hotels all over the world and have never had this attitude. The seats in reception are all stained and in need of a good clean.

The bathroom lacked amenities such as shampoo, hair conditioner, body lotion, Q tips, box of tissues. There was a shaving razor kit that was left over perhaps from someone else’s stay. Large bottles of liquid soap was provided in the shower and sink area. There was not anything to write on or a pen/pencil to used to write with. It would have been nice to have a coffee pot in the room which many hotels provide such as a Nespresso coffee maker. Although the room was small, there was plenty of hangers in the closet and a good amount of space to put away personal belongings. The complementary breakfast was ok for European standards. I did not venture out to the pool area or bar. The positive things were the location and the drinks that were provided in the complementary mini bar. The staff was pleasant and tried to be helpful. I appreciated having a taxi outside the door when leaving for the airport.

- Flora (8/5): - We had a fantastic stay at the Negresco Princess in Barcelona. The staff, especially Laura at the front desk, went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Laura was incredibly helpful when we discovered our bed was two twins instead of a king. Despite the lifts being flooded, the staff remained attentive and kind and fixed it instantly. The hotel's central location was a definite plus, and we were captivated by the stunning rooftop pool, complete with a bar and sauna. It provided a truly enjoyable experience. We highly recommend staying at this hotel. A special thanks to Laura for her exceptional hospitality and warm-hearted demeanor. As for the rooms, they were spacious and well-appointed. We loved the fridge, which came with five complimentary drinks that were replenished daily. The coffee machine and delightful-smelling toiletries added to our comfort. Additionally, the room provided a disposable toothbrush, toothpaste, and a shaving set in case we forgot anything.
