Was sent to a different business at a different address - Upon arrival, we were never offered a room at 124 on Queen Hotel & Spa - the 4-star hotel we booked and paid for ($442 CAD per night, not including their "resort fee" which entities you to zero amenities). We were directed instead to The Gate House, 142 Queen St. Different name. Different address. Different business. This is not a matter of interpretation. The Gate House and 124 on Queen Hotel & Spa maintain completely separate, independent listings on Google Maps (The Gate House: wedding venue, 4.4★/178 reviews; 124 on Queen: 4-star hotel, 4.7★/1,216+ reviews), TripAdvisor (The Gate House: restaurant, 4.1/27 reviews; 124 on Queen: hotel, 4.6/886 reviews), and Yelp. Two pins. Two profiles. Two businesses. The word "adjacent" does not transform a wedding venue into a 4-star hotel. We inspected the room anyway. Here is what we found: Two full-size commercial shipping containers (ID on one: SJCU2072620) were parked directly in front of the entrance. The room window faced three industrial dumpsters and a lot with construction debris, undisclosed in any listing material. The room was materially smaller than the 400 square feet stated in the listing. Underground parking, listed as an amenity, did not exist. The spa facility requires crossing a grocery store parking lot to reach, yet an extra "resort fee" was charged for it regardless. We declined the room. We secured alternative accommodation at Pillar & Post and paid out of pocket. The hotel's response: our contract was with Expedia. Expedia's response: sorry your "stay" didn't meet expectations. - sarahhA5199RA (10/5): Amazing Business Retreat - I recently worked with the incredible 124 on Queen team to organize a corporate off-site involving both daytime meetings and overnight stays and I cannot recommend them enough!! I had not organized a corporate event for my company before and as it was for the senior executives, there were a lot of moving parts to iron out to ensure I hit the brief. There was a lot of back-and-forth during the planning stages and I was so impressed by how caring and understanding the team was to my demands and changes;) They remained patient and attentive throughout ensuring every detail was tailored to our needs so we were perfectly set up for success! We used The Gate House for our daytime meetings. It is a stunning room flooded with natural light which kept the energy high and the atmosphere professional and happy. The AV setup was seamless and incredibly easy to use—no technical headaches to slow us down. The food provided during the day was excellent. There were plenty of options to suit everyone, and the snack selection was a huge hit with the team! The overnight accommodations were beautiful, providing a high-end, comfortable retreat after a long day of work. We hosted a private dinner at Treadwell Cuisine and it was spectacular. The setting was intimate and the meal was easily a highlight of the trip. Overall the property itself is breathtaking and perfectly situated in the heart of Niagara. Between the top-tier service, the beautiful meeting spaces, and the ease of execution, this was a seamless experience. We will definitely be going back again next year!

A very scenic 30 min drive to Niagara Falls. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. No USB charging points. The first day our room was cleaned they didn’t replace toilet roll and the 2nd day we left our do not disturb sign on by accident so ended up running out!

- Louise (10/5): Superb stay - Superbly located hotel, right in the middle of NOTL, but you wouldn't really know as it's sort of tucked away from the main street. Every staff member we met was lovely - courteous, helpful, very welcoming. I stayed over the weekend with my 2 teen daughters and we stayed in the apartment accommodation (#802) which was FABULOUS! You have to exit the main hotel building and gain access to the apartment from the outside, which some people may find a hassle, not being in the main building, but was no issue for us. We also dined in the restaurant 1 evening and had a lovely meal - I recommend seating in the main lounge area, not the 'conservatory' - seating is more comfortable, and slightly higher end type feel. The conservatory seating and area is perfectly lovely, but you do feel like you're sitting on patio furniture (which in the summer months will be lovely) but in mid March, in a covered conservatory/patio doesn't quite have the same feel. Highly recommend this hotel and I will definitely be back for another stay. The parking facility was closed on 1 of the nights we were there for 'maintenance'. it was a bit of a pain only in that we had to park elsewhere (near the Gate House) which was a bit of a walk away from our accommodation.

We celebrated my daughter's birthday at NOTL that weekend & I mentioned it on my booking. The hotel asked if they can do anything to make my daughter's birthday more special & I asked them to leave a card & a small treat in the room before we arrived that day & they didn't. So I don't know why they bother asking if they don't intend to do anything?

- Daydream10633480353 (4/5): Couldn’t sleep due to noise - There are lot of wonderful things about this property, but we had a very poor experience — due to noise levels. We stayed in the gate house next door to the main property, which had been renovated and divided up with fire doors — fire doors that slammed pretty much all night! Additionally, there is walk in refrigerator on the first floor that the restaurant uses, putting stuff away at closing and getting stuff out for breakfast starting around 6am. Again more door slamming! The spa and room was lovely, but the constant traffic and door slamming meant we couldn’t sleep.

First time coming to the hotel and it is the little things that can create an exceptional experience or an okay one .The hostess that greeted us that afternoon was not exactly warm and welcoming .The room we had our high tea was very beautiful, although I think it would have been nicer if the high tea was sectioned off in a more private/quieter area .Our waitress was very pleasant and I think she was fairly new at high tea service, as she was not able to really tell us a lot about the tea and was not aware of what type of sandwiches were available, and when a customer has an allergy, that should be known. That being said, she dealt with the sandwich issue promptly and professionally. The tea served was absolutely delicious , although I think if we had the tea in the fancy China tea cups, instead of the white coffee cups, it would have enhanced the vibe. Our sandwiches were unfortunately stale and not as enjoyable. The pastries served were exceptional and the fruit fresh and plump. Would I come back again for high tea? No, but I would come back to try their lunch/dinner menu.

- Anujah (8/5): Overall great stay. - The staff were very helpful. We used the spa amenities. Everything is very clean, they were helpful in helping us finding the parking - location is great. Great for a cute couples getaway. Starbucks right inside the hotel also a great option to grab food to go when checking out. We had dinner at the NOTL restaurant, we were seated right away, did the Friday date night deal. But took forever to get the food, and forever to flag down staff to get our bill. I am not sure if they were busy (restaurant was half empty), or if there was too few staff, a little more attention would be great so that customers are not flagging staff numerous times to be seen.

- Michelle L (4/5): - This property is made up of 4 separate buildings with a variety of entrances which can be confusing. While they have an elevator, it is not handicap friendly. The ambience of this place is cold corprate gray. I found the staff to be exceedingly unprofessional & quietly rude. Ive been visiting this charming town for 30 years. I will never stay here again. Nearly all hotel/spas in this town allow guests to use the pool & jacuzzi gratis. This place charges $100. unless you book a treatment. The parking entrance is on a diffetent street. No coffee maker, espresso only. That said, they do have extremely comfortable mattresses & pillows. I found this placecto be a 5 out of 10 & definitely not in keeping with the "charm" of the entire town.
- Olena (4/5): - We have been visiting Niagara on the Lake since 2015 and stayed at 124 on Queen multiple times. This time around, we were sad to conclude that it has become a victim of its own success. We booked a suite for one night which amounted to over $750 including taxes and fees. The hotel was clearly understaffed, and the staff were not empowered to make effective decisions to make our experience better. There was a lineup of 15 minutes long at check in. We could not make use of the rental bikes because another patron walked away with the key, and the staff opted to chase after them instead of simply cutting the cheap wire lock to accommodate our limited time in town. They said they would text when the room was ready (they didn’t) and when the bike lock key would be found (they didn’t). The housekeeping came knocking on the door in the morning because, of course, the reception hadn’t told them that we had arranged for a late checkout. There was no knife in the kitchen, no cork screw and no kettle - and we didn’t feel like asking for those because of the lineups and staffing issues. I don’t think we’ll be returning to the property where a guest feels like another body to be housed with no regard to their preferences or quality of experience.

Ash greeted us at the counter and showed us to our room 'sort of' across the way , making it easy for us to get our bearings. Our stay was only one evening but we wished we could have stayed longer as there were places to explore we were NOT able to explore! The many shops close-by were open late, well-kept and everyone was friendly. We will rave about this hotel to anyone heading to this area and can't wait til we can come back.

We told them, and nothing was done for us not even a card. I work in this industry and if someone had told me that it was their anniversary we would have sent a dessert and given at least a card wishing us a happy anniversary! Even went to the restaurant and told them if we could have a seat outside on the patio didn't even check just said no space.

I’d stay again, just in a different room for sure.

- Lisa (6/5): - Has potential to be excellent but is currently uneven. From check in to departure we experienced both outstanding and disappointing details. Check in desk had no one there when we arrived. Then the young lady who emerged from the back room carried on with her eyes glued to the screen in her hand and ignored us. Finally a young man returned from what he was doing and acknowledged us. No one at check in shared any details about the property such as how it was laid out , where to park, what amenities they had, what their dining options were. No one asked if we needed info about the town . Overall a very poor front desk and check in on the Sunday we arrived. The room was large and well appointed but not as clean as you would expect. The restaurants had some excellent food and three excellent servers but were woefully understaffed leaving us waiting too long to get greeted at the table, get water and get to order. Once the server arrived they were excellent. Same with the meals. The spa was the biggest disappointment. I would say do not bother. They overcrowd it. Especially the hydrotherapy circuit. Not enough room and not cleaned well enough. And that was on a weekday. Can’t imagine a busy weekend. I hope the place can iron out the uneven service and cleanliness. It has the potential to be the best around. They need more and better trained or just better staff.

We had the pleasure of staying in their beautiful Guest House, which was a perfect fit for our family of four. The space was luxurious, comfortable, and felt like a true home away from home. We had plenty of room to relax and unwind, and the elegant decor made our stay feel extra special. To top it all off, we had a fantastic dinner at NOLT Bar & Restaurant, located right on the hotel grounds. The atmosphere was sophisticated yet welcoming, and the food was simply amazing. My wife loved the Seared Atlantic Salmon, and I thoroughly enjoyed the house-made NOTL Burger. Our oldest had a delicious steak, and my little guy even finished his pasta special, which was a bit spicy but so flavorful. We highly recommend the 124 on Queen Hotel and Spa for families looking for a luxurious and convenient retreat. The combination of the beautiful Guest House and the exceptional dining at NOLT made for a perfect getaway. We can't wait to come back!
- David (8/5): - 124 on Queen is a deluxe property. Both of the two rooms where we stayed were well-appointed, with quality furnishings. Minor lapses, such as a toilet that did not flush property and a broken luggage rack, did not significantly detract from our enjoyment of the two day stay. The hotel is centrally located on Queen Street, with many restaurants and shops nearby, and the Shaw theater nearby. However, one major problem exists. The two "annex" rooms, one of which we occupied for a night (until we asked for a switch) is accessed only via a steep staircase with very narrow treads, suitable only for guests that are quite young and agile! We are neither, and felt each time we used them that we were risking our lives.
