Guest Reviews
- Kenneth (10/5): Great value And great location. - Great instructions before we arrived. Nice warm welcome. It’s a bargain lodging establishment and as such was what we expected. The location is fantastic to be in the center of everything yet on a protected quieter street. It’s close to the metro close to walking areas and great restaurants close by. Location is fantastic to be in the center of everything yet on a protected quieter street. It’s close to the metro close to walking areas and great restaurants close by. Rosario and David couldn’t be more helpful. Breakfast is adequate but doesn’t meet our expectations for Mexican breakfast but there’s lots nearby this very reasonable.
- Tracey (10/5): Solid B&B - Great location, very comfortable bed, and breakfast was awesome. Much better than average stay. No complaints.
- Verified traveler (8/5): In historical centre - Fabulous location in historical centre & near metro line. Staff friendly & helpful. Breakfasts excellent. Bed comfortable, room & bathroom clean. Noisy if you face street especially on weekends when there is lots of music. Ask for a fan as there is no AC.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Chill out flat not a flat - Okay for a night but if booking longer make sure to get room with seating otherwise no where to put luggage and bed fills room. Central location and breakfast great. Staff Andrea has no people skills and not reliable.
- Maxime (10/5): - It was excellent! Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast!
- Maxime (10/5): - Great place with very friendly staff fluent in English. Excellent breakfast!
- Hao (6/5): Great location but small room - The owners are very nice, our flight was delayed but they waited for us patiently. The door lock to our room broke on the 2nd night, the owner tried their best to open the door for us. It was Sunday night after 10 pm and they spent hours helping us open the door. On the down side, the room was tiny, the bed was small and not comfortable. Otherwise it wouldn't have been great because the location is perfect and breakfast is great too.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good for the price - Chilly rooms and no hot water but close to many attractions with a good breakfast, so for the price no complaints! Staff was very friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cute place to stay in great location - This B&B is located in a great spot for checking out Mexico City.. it's around the corner from Bellas Artes, is super close to the pedestrian street which has all kinds of shops and places to eat, and is a quick walk to the Zocalo. The room was comfy and the staff was nice. During breakfast you could talk to the other travelers staying there, which was nice. I'd recommend it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great spot for a Mexico city stop - Outstanding location in the centre of the Historical District, good breakfast every day with congenial company (the other residents), good rates and excellent comfort.
- Dreamzje (8/5): Best choice for budget in prime location - Lovely people and great value. Not luxurious but you meet great people and it’s a bargain. Breakfast is awesome and they couldn’t be nicer. Room was fine, small and utilitarian, but clean and pleasant enough.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Never again - Disrespectful staff
Strange man in our apartment late at night with no warning
We were told not to eat, drink, or sit in the common space
Staff aggressive rather than friendly
Hotel staff in and out of the apartment more than ten times each day over the course of several hours
- Ian (10/5): A Gem of a B&B in Mexico City!! - We stayed here for 6 nights with our daughter and her boyfriend. We arrived after midnight and were greeted by Andrea who immediately offered us tea and showed us to our room which was beautifuly colorful and clean. We were treated to a delicious breakfast every morning of fruit, juice, tea or coffee, yogurt, bread and a traditional hot meal. Location is great, around the corner from the train and just blocks away from many restaurants and tourist attractions. The day we left, Andrea was amazingly kind enough to let us keep our luggage there and have access to our room all day! This was our home away from home!!
- Ian (10/5): Amazing stay in Mexico City!!! - This bnb is located walking distance to all the main sites in city central and around the corner from train and surrounded by great restaurants. Each morning we were treated to a delicious breakfast of fresh fruit, yogurt, and a hot traditional breakfast that was delicious. Room was beautifully painted and spotless, we totally felt like we were at home. Andrea was super accommodating, always asking if we needed touring suggestions and was kind enough to let us keep our luggage at our bnb all day the day we're were leaving because we had a midnight flight out. I will definitely be recommending Chillout to my friends traveling to Mexico City!!
- Jonathan (10/5): Great customer service - For reasons outside my control (thanks British Airways) I was unable to complete my stay at the Chillout B&B. However, the communication from Rosario was absolutely superb.
I've rated this property as 5 star throughout although cannot really comment on anything other than the service.
- talat (6/5): great location avarage stay - I stayed 8 nights in this hotel. I used metro from the airport to arrive this area. It cost 25 cents. And when I go back I used metro and it cost 1,50 dollars. The location is the hearth of the old city. As I said before it is very eay to get anywhere with public transport. There are also so many good restaurants, pubs, cafes and museums around.
This b&b is more convinient for stuents or solo travellers. It is much more like hostels. I dont reccomend this hotel for families.
- Judy (6/5): Close to everything - Room was noisy from traffic hard to sleep good breakfast hot water extremely difficult to adjust in shower- either boiling or freezing. Bed comfy & big. Sometimes no one was at the door down stairs to let you in. Good shared kitchen.
- flavio (10/5): Excellent location - I loved staying here. The location couldn't be better. The price is excellent with breakfast and wifi included. Andrea and Rosario are friendly , nice and knowledgeable. I will definitely stay here again !
- David (8/5): - Wonderful location, beautiful room and friendly people. The location was great-we could easily walk or take the metro to anywhere we wanted to go. We read previous reviews about the noise so we brought earplugs Andy slept fine.
- Ali (6/5): Spacious, basic, mold everywhere, cold dinghy - I am surprised so many people rated this place so highly as though cheap and spacious with good beds it is so funky and there is mold everywhere in the bathrooms. The owner is very nice and welcoming on the plus, breakfast was fairly good but no one asked if I lie hard scrambled eggs before serving them to me. The decor could be bright and cheery as the colors are pleasing but it was dark and cold in the room. A four room flat with one tiny heater so I had to sit with my jacket on the entire time. We are an older couple used to more upscale places so maybe for younger budget conscious travelers this is just the place. The location is great!
- NewEnglander (8/5): Friendly & Comfortable - Accommodations were comfortable and clean, and the Om suite is quite spacious. Rosario and staff are lovely people, friendly and helpful. The king size bed is firm and comfortable, the shower is excellent, and the kitchen appeared to be well equipped. Communication with staff is excellent--if you need anything just ask. Rosario arranged for taxis when we needed them and could not have been more gracious. Highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (8/5): GOOD VALUE - We stayed eight nights, a vacation to visit historical spots. A day trip to San Angel was very nice.
- Norbert (10/5): Comfortable, clean, secure and perfect location. - Midway between Zocalo and Palacio de Bellas Artes, we were only a few blocks from the most important sites, silver merchants, and tourist buses.
The staff was very helpful, the bed was big and comfortable, the room clean, the breakfast excellent.
We highly recommend this B&B.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location is great and I love the fact that the B&B is part of a residential block. Room is large with plenty of space n excellent wifi.
Small downside is the breakfast is simple with only bread, fruit n yoghurt. And short timing between 830-930 only. But there is an excellent bakery just to the left of building.
- Jill (10/5): Excellent location and service - Walkable location to most attractions. Great service and breakfast. The room is very clean and cozy. Definitely will recommend to my friends.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice secured place to stay - This is a good place to stay, beds are good. Shower a bit slow. No tv, but good internet connection. Lovely helpful host, speaks a little english.
- Julian (8/5): nice rooms, close to museums, etc - Great location, friendly staff and good food. Worth every penny.
- Cheryl (10/5): Attractive rooms in a great central location. - The room was clean and attractive, located in a secure building half way between the Zocolo and Alameda Park. It was very centrally located to what we wanted to do in Mexico City in 2 days. I would highly recommend it.
- Ruth (10/5): Convienent and clean - Friendly and safe
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great food, service and an amazing host.
- Verified traveler (8/5): The best location - I visited with my mum (aged 80) the welcome we received was fantastic, breakfast delicious. This is an old building so facilities are not brand spanking new but clean and comfortable. If you want 4/5 star fixtures and fittings this is not for you but you will pay a lot more !
- K.Karlos (10/5): Great place - Great base to explore Mexico City.
Location: Central & safe. Next to the metro station and two streets off Zocalo square which is a starting point for many tourist tours, also Turibus (google that, good way to explore the town)
Room: Excellent. Very spacious with a massive kingsize ++ bed. We had the Kundanini room which was a bit noisy at night, nothing too disturbing for us but you might want to book an off-street if you are having problems with you sleep.
Staff: Very helpful and willing to advise with nice places to go, print your boarding cards etc. Not the usual not-bothered hotel receptionist.
- Khash (6/5): Not value for money - I think that my room Frida was not upto the mark for the money that I had spent. Didn't have a fan or air-con. Breakfast was served only for one hour between 8:30 and 9:30.
- Arturo (8/5): Cozy European Style B&B - Chill-Out Flat is a cozy, European-Style Bed and Breakfast located in the Historic Downtown District of Mexico City. It's near major cultural and tourist sites such as the Palacio de Bellas Artes, Torre Latinoamericana and el Zocalo. The staff at Chill-Out Flat was very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable to sleep in.
- Fred (6/5): DF visit - Great location and price.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice B&B in the heart of Mexico City - This is a nice B&B in the heart of Mexico City. It is a perfect location for closeness to Zocala Sq., Museums, Theatre and Park. All the staff are extremely nice and very helpful. Even though there is no sign for the B&B as it is in a 70 year old residential Apt. building... we still found it with no problem as the instructions are very clear in their email....I also printed out a photo from the google-map address of the front of the building so I could spot it better. A very decent price for where you are and what you get. (One minor thing that some may have a problem with is that due to narrowness of the sewage pipes, they request any toilet paper be put in a basket. Since we have dealt with that problem in other countries it didn't bother us)
- Steven (8/5): good value in centro - this is a creative urban b&b made up of several apartments in a quiet and secure building right in the middle of it all. the hostess Vicky was as helpfull as could be from explaining the public transportation to arranging a reasonable priced taxi at 3:30am. this was a good value choice that met our needs and made for a pleasant stay. you could get fancier but maby not better
- Verified traveler (10/5): Close to museums and center of city. - Rosario is an excellent hostess. Breakfast was very substantial, pancakes yogurt oatmeal granola coffee tea.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Location in Heart of Mexico City - Chill Out was perfect spot for our one day visit to Mexico City. The direction from Rosary email got taxi cab directly to hotel once we arrived. We felt protected with a door person always there at entrance to building. I room was clean. I had read reviews about noise on street. We had ear plugs and had no problem with noise. I like that we could meet other travelers staying at hotel and share experiences. The breakfast was so good. I would reccomend my friends to stay here.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Perfect location - Chillout Flat is in the middle of the Historic District, a short walk to everything - or the metro if you need to go farther afield. Breakfasts were delicious and featured typically Mexican food in addition to home made granola & yogurt and "American" coffee. Everyone speaks English, and they were glad to help us reserve tours and taxis as well as explaining the Metro.
- Maria (10/5): A gem in the hearth of Mexico City - Chillout Flat Bed & Breakfast was amazing. It is right in the center of the Historic Center of Mexico City - so for sight-seeing you cannot wish for a better location. The metro is 2 minutes away. The staff is so helpful and accomodating, it's unbelievable. We made a booking for 3 people, and were to share a king size bed. When we arrived we saw that there was an extra bed put into the room - and we did not even request it! Then, Mrs Rosary was a wealth of information about the sights, transport options and general good advice about Mexico City. She helped us with getting information about buses, calling the bus terminal no problem. Our room was huge and beautifully decorated. The double glazing on the windows kept all of the noise out. We will definitely be back.
- Verified traveler (4/5): location is good but... - The location is good and the hotel stuff is nice
But there is no TV in the room
and loud noise from street all night.
