- Martin (9/5): We loved our stay. The food was some of the best we’ve had in Costa Rica and the staff (especially Wilber) were amazingl - Beautiful views of the golfo dulce and surrounding mountains and valleys. Amazing wildlife, especially birds. The pool wasn’t working well when we were there but some guests didn’t mind the murky water.
- James (10/5): Pura Vida I will be back - The view, the grounds were well kept. And the animals
- Katy (10/5): Perfect budget stay on the way to Puerto Jimenez and Corcovado National Park. - Absolutely beautiful views from the property and the nearby hill that can one be accessed through the property. We got to see so many beautiful birds in their garden! Mattresses were a bit too hard to our liking and there were no mosquito nets on windows.

Lastly an affordable gourmet restaurant that has yet to be added to the Michelin Star list ,with meals crafted using fresh fruits ,vegetables and meats often delivered same day by a personal vendor.

Whether you are a hungry passerby or on a planned retreat there is nothing to compare this location to . It is unique , the amount of effort required to maintain such a remote resort is respectable to say the least and impeccable to be honest. 👩🏼🍳🧑💼👷🏽♂️👨🏻🏭
Big thanks to Wilbert ,katy,Justin and everyone working hard to let others enjoy the Osa Peninsula and everything it has to offer.
-sincerly and with gratitude Ammati Fogelsanger Make sure if you get a cabin to get your specific wifi linked as the restaurant wifi can sputter in the lower cabins. And avoid leaving food out as it's common for insects to hunt for food in the jungle.

An unforgettable stay at Mirador Lodge – truly magical
Mirador Lodge is hands down my favorite place in Costa Rica. From the moment you arrive, you feel something special, and it’s all because of the incredible people who make this place feel like home.
Will, the owner, is genuinely one of the kindest souls you’ll ever meet. He goes above and beyond to accommodate every guest’s needs, including any dietary restrictions, he truly makes it happen. And his smoothies? Absolutely the best in all of Costa Rica. As a local, Will also has amazing recommendations and connects you with wonderful people for unforgettable tours. His heart for animals is just as beautiful, he adopts and cares for pets who find their way to the Mirador.
The dogs alone will steal your heart. Bob, with his little shoulder injury, is the gentlest, most loving dog, so intuitive and calming, like a therapy dog. Lucy is fun, sweet, and full of personality. And then there’s Jack, our protector and little angel. On a hike when we got lost, Jack guided us back and never left my partner or me. He showed me just how incredible animals can be.
The food is outstanding. Cathy, wow. You can truly taste the love in every bite she cooks. She is hardworking, warm, and always ready to help. Justin is also an incredible cook, kind, dedicated, and instantly makes you feel at home. The entire team does. Their warmth and care are what make this place so special.
The lodge is always spotless. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean. And did I mention it’s a toucan sanctuary? You’ll see them all the time. And the views, absolutely unreal. A full 360-degree panorama that your eyes can barely take in.
But more than the views, the food, or even the wildlife, what truly makes Mirador Lodge extraordinary is the team. They make you feel like family. This place stays in your heart long after you leave.
I cannot recommend Mirador Lodge enough. A truly magical experience. 💚

- Janine (10/5): Great location with amazing view - We booked spontaneously on our trip and found a oasis with many birds in the morning and an amazing view.
- Russell (8/5): Quality stay in a nice location with caring staff and fun things to do. - The host and staff were very friendly and helpful. The bungalow didn’t have a lot of amenities, but we knew that going in. We loved the view from our room and could watch and hear a lot of birds. We also appreciated the swimming pool, hot water, air conditioning and free breakfast! We could choose our breakfast off the menu and it was delicious! The location of our bungalow was down the hill in the back and thus quiet. We didn’t have a car, but we could walk to Mogos Beach, which was wonderful! We were also able to enjoy a tour to some spectacular waterfalls.
- Martha (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful! The staff is e cell ent and the food is fantastic!

- Chiara (10/5): A Serene Paradise with Exceptional Hospitality - We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The place is lovely, with a breathtaking view that’s especially magical at sunrise when the trees come alive with toucans. Our cabin was quiet, spotlessly clean, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Dinner at the soda was delicious, with great food at a very affordable price. The owner truly made our experience even better – such a friendly and kind person! We were even treated to coffee and a pastry in the morning, which was a delightful touch. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a peaceful and welcoming retreat!

- Vojtech (10/5): Exceptional - Paradise on earth - birds, jungle voices, treest, amazing view from the terrace, great pool.
Best fresh pineapple & mango smoothie and amazing traditional breakfast - grilled cheese, scrambled eggs, rice with beans & fried banana.
Bonus - patting the “good boys” (dogs)!:)
- Marc (9/5): Excellent stay with great food in a warm, family-like atmosphere - The breakfast at Hotel Mirador Osa was included in our reservation, and was simply excellent, as were the meals in the evening. The atmosphere is very layback and the owner (Wilbert) and his staff are very hospitable and friendly. Not to forgt the doggies Jack and Bob. The garden is nice and you can have a refreshing dip in the swimming pool after a hard day of work (or tracking). The smoothies are especially recommendable, and basically every meal, also the spaghetti bolognese stilo Justin! Nothing really.
- Richard (10/5): The location is very special with views over the beautiful gardens and forrest. Very friendly host. - The location is very special with views over the beautiful gardens and forrest. Very friendly host.
- Fogelsanger (10/5): Exceptional - The manager&owner of the location was extremely thoughtful and professional while still giving us an authentic and natural cozy experience. Staff is very knowledgeable about the local area and attractions. Every need was met from a delicious home made breakfast to a well maintained and beautiful jungle side cabin. AC and handicap accessibility was there. The staggering amount of wildlife was a thrill .-Ammati I can't stay here forever
- Krassimira (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place surrounded by nature with an amazing host. The food was delicious. The smoothies and coffee were the best.
- Elena (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly host who helped us to find a guide for the NP Corcovado. There are toucans in the garden. Two friendly dogs Jack and Bob
- Sylvie (8/5): Lovely staff and great food and smoothies - The beautiful view and the sounds of the Tucana singing I have no real minus’s other than it was warm but okay during the nights.
- Dalibor (9/5): Superb - Nice lokality in nature, nice garden with monkays, tucans, ..., kind and helpful owner/staff -
- Keating (7/5): Good -
- Verna (8/5): Heaven. Get away from tourism. - Garden of paradise. Felt at home. Toucans, hummingbirds. Views.
- Luke (10/5): Loved it. - I can’t speak highly enough of the team running the hotel. They were so welcoming and friendly! The hotel is as you would expect from a hotel in this price range but the stay was made exceptional by the people accommodating us.
- Jarl (8/5): super friendly, room a bit basic. recommended - convenient, super friendly! Garden with many early birds (tukans!!). we loved the (local) food! room was more basic then expected. It was clean and had a great shower
- Karolina (8/5): Nice, relaxing, surrounded by forest - Everything was consistent with the description and photos. Place was quite empty which can be scary for people who like crowds, but for us it was a pleasure to be in such a quiet and peaceful place. Also it is in the middle of the jungle and yet there were no "extra" guests like insects or animals in the room which is great because in such a place it is not easy to take care of it. The added value is a very nice and helpful host. He recommended us nice places in the area. It was no problem to extend the stay.
Breakfast was very good, I liked it very much. Other dishes maybe too salty but fresh and very big portions for reasonable price.
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Evert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Juanmavet (10/5): Exceptional -
- Virginie (10/5): Exceptional - The place is realy beautifull and the staff wonderfull, included the dog
- Carol (8/5): This place is magical with howler mon - This place is magical. The host and his family were very lovely. Our dinner was delicious. But the most special thing of all was being in the rain forest. We awoke to howler monkeys and toucans. Then, magically, the entire place was shrouded in fog.
- Jenny (8/5): Beautiful views to the north and the south, breezy with toucans and macaws overhead. -
- Käthe (8/5): Very good -
- Chris (8/5): Very good - The atmosphere at the Hotel Mirador Osa was one of the best we experienced during our 3 week visit to Costa Rica...... Absolutely epitomised the Pura Vida way of life..... Chilled vibes, laughter, great food.... Perfect. The rooms were a little basic, but for a group of birders looking for somewhere to get some shut-eye, there were no complaints from us.... Not having enough time there! It was great!
- Donna (8/5): Very good - Helpful staff, good food and beautiful view from the restaurant and most of the rooms Noise from the restaurant/bar quite late into the evening
- Leslie (10/5): everyone at the hotel was amazing. the good was so good. the view was breathtaking. - so beautiful!!! I loved everything about it clean with gorgeous scenery.
