Guest Reviews
- Juan Fernando (2/5): - The whole room smelled like piss and mold , courtains were stained with black mildew , the air conditionate unit was off , room was humid , smelled really bad , we only spent five hours on the property thank god . In the outside there’s a truck with a blown tire and another shady car noticeably is unable to Move like a creepy junk yard , trash and dust everywhere, very unpleasant.
- Joseph (2/5): - This was the worst place I have ever attempted to stay at. Holes in the ceilings and walls, dirties carpet I’ve ever seen. Cigarette burns on the sheets and bed. I immediately tried to get a refund and the lady said I would have had to ask for it within ten minutes of paying, which it had been 30 minutes. There is no way I would make my family stay there. Disgusting!
- Kendal (2/5): - I frequently travel back and forth from Florida to Pennsylvania. I have booked many hotels over the years and this has been by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Upon entering the room, I was a little weary due to the picture online looking "cleaner". I got in super late and I had two young children with me. I let them in and my oldest informed me he saw a cockroach swimming in the toilet. Sure enough, fresh large roach in the toilet! I looked up at the entire bathroom and was appalled at the condition of the entire room. Everything extremely outdated and the entire shower looked like someone hadn't used it in 20+ years. The metal panel behind the shower handle was crooked and almost falling off, the shower head was mismatched and looked corroded and the air vent over our head had 2 inches of dust on it. My son was suppose to take a shower. I was so grossed out by the bathroom that I didn't even have either of my kids or myself brush our teeth or wash our hands. Sketchy couch and stains all over the floor. There were "patched" holes in the ceiling above the sink and a patch job under the sink. Dust on almost everything. We felt so gross and it was a struggle to get my kids to sleep because they were afraid of bed bugs and more roaches coming. I tried to find another hotel but we arrived at 12:30 and the closest safe hotel was over an hour. This place should be disgusted with the conditions of their rooms. Never stay here!
- Jason (2/5): - Not what pics look like
- Anastasia (2/5): - Only the lady that checked us in was great. The property and room was deplorable
- Verified traveler (4/5): Big mistake on staying here. - Well the deadbolt didn't work no other safety lock junk cars in lot. No working pop machine or ice
- Gay (4/5): - Not able to watch TV because of cable issues, but rested well and the check in staff were nice
- Richard (2/5): Don't Forget Your Hazmat Suit..... - We arrived, got our room key, went to room; king bed, we reserved two queen beds. As we were leaving the room, there appeared to be what looked like a bullet hole in the window. Went back to front desk, got a new room key, opened the door and WHOA!!! There were clothes, shoes, toiletries, and bedding all over the room - obviously someone was in that room. Thank the Lord they weren't there when we opened the door. Back down to the front desk. When I entered, the lady smiled, then laughed out loud and said, "I forgot." Before I even told her the room was occupied. The third room we got was terrible - cups and cobwebs behind the non-working refrig, dirty washcloth hanging in bathroom area, a pair of underwear in the dresser, water stains all over the ceiling, curtain didn't close all the way on the front window, stains all over carpet that looked like it had not been vacuumed, This room seriously looked like it was about ready to fall apart - literally. We needed to keep insulin refrigerated and couldn't do it. After three rooms and filth all around us, we gave up. I don't know where the pictures came from in the listing with Hotels.com, but I can assure you, they are not the images at this hotel!! The rooms are nowhere near as clean and nice as the ones in the pictures shown.
- Scott (2/5): - Dirty and old. Smelled but worst yet, there was rotten lunchmeat in the refrigerator. Nice attendant but place was pretty rough.
- Breann (2/5): - The room did not have a microwave or coffee maker as advertised in the pictures. There was dirt and screws leftover from prior repair. The tub did not drain. We tried to let the woman know that was in the office when we left, but she left to the back room when we rang the bell. I also had to show her my receipt from Expedia for the amount it was supposed to be. It was still more than what I shown in the app, but it was about $20 cheaper than the original amount she said.
There were about 5 or 6 broken down vehicles in the parking lot. One was on cinder blocks. I can see remodeling...but it needs to be advertised as such. (There is a section to add pics, but it will not allow me to upload). The cable didnt work (she said it was from a recent storm and it would be repaired Monday...however prior reviews I've found now show it wasnt working then either). One channel worked...barely. Overall it's a no from me. Stay away.
- Amy (8/5): - Mike was very helpful and kind.
- danielle (2/5): - One of the worst experiences i've ever had at a hotel, and I stayed a lot of hotels.
I drove up and parked just outside the entrance and was sending a text message. When the self described owner came out and asked if I needed a hotel and said he was leaving soon. And I said I had a reservation, but I was finishing a text message. so I came inside and he said that I was to pay there, but I'd already paid expedia. i said I would look into it. And he said, even though I pulled up my banking record that I paid that I hadn't paid, he hadn't gotten the money and there was no time for me to look into this because he was leaving even though expedia said there was a twenty four hour staff. he said he didn't care. What do you expedia said that he was the owner and he would do what he wanted.
Not having another option, I just paid and I'll be contacting expedia, about being reimbursed for what I paid expedia.
I go to the room and he said that I'd have 5 minutes for checkinge into the room in case I needed anything. so I get to my room and outside next to it.Are two huge mattresses clearly?Room twenty wine was completely under construction. my room room twenty two, also seem to have unfinished construction. the door lock from inside locked, but it wasn't finished. the shower was disgusting and unfinished. the bathroom door had a panel, which was not entirely screwed on. trash can had no liner. floor messed up and disgusting. i can't believe this room was considered hospitable.
- Joel (6/5): - I guess they are in the middle of remodeling.
- Rachel (2/5): - They didn’t answer the door to check us in even though we called after making reservation AND the open sign was on. We tried calling, the lights were on and nobody answered so we had to go to a different hotel
- LaKesha (2/5): - Nothing at all it was a horrible experience NEVER AGAIN looks like a crack head motel filthy bugs EVERYWHERE had car air fresheners everywhere
- Robert (10/5): - Swimming pool and clean
- Matthew (8/5): - Extremely friendly staff, and you really can’t beat it for the price. We will stay there again!
- Summer (2/5): - It was very very scary. That’s all i need to say. We walked into the room and right back out.
- Robert (8/5): - Owners are very nice but the property is worn and in need of maintenance.
- Ricardo (2/5): - Mean manager she over charged my rate. The husbend came out yealing to me i had to call police he threatend me lo leave the propery place it's so bad tv not working door falling off. My worst experience in a hotel
- Delmer (2/5): - The place is dirty and really bad shape.
Doesn’t feel safe and they will even charge for each person that will staying in the room.
- Kazem (2/5): - It was worst, dirtiest, and horrible place to stay. The room was in total disrepair with missing shower head to moldy walls and messy and dirty carpet. Linen was full of blood stains and other stains.
- Darren (10/5): Great Staff - Awesome Staff. They are Recovering from the Hurricanes but Over all I'll definitely Stay Again...
- Greg (2/5): Drive on down the road! - This place is a dump. From the cheap price, I should have expected below average, but this was ridiculous. There were only a few channels that came in on the tv & the reception was horrendous. I was told there was internet, but there was none. The floor was stained. The ceiling was falling down. There were no stoppers for the drains in the sink or tub. The refrigerator had no shelves. There was no phone to call the office. The towels might as well have been paper. Finally there was a bullet hole in the window. Just go elsewhere! Your site doesn’t allow me to upload photos even though it asks for them.
- Kathryn (4/5): Disgusting - I cannot believe this place isn’t shut down by the Board of Health. The carpet is disgusting and stained as are the bedspreads. The bathroom tub had a literal hole in it. The toilet flushed itself randomly all night and we woke up to the sink backed up and leaking on the carpet from a broken pipe. I was woken up by the smell of mold causing me severe nasal congestion. Shame on the hotel and shame on hotels.com for listing this dump.
- Tavaris (2/5): - It was so nasty
- Terry (6/5): - The staff was great and very accommodating.
- Ashlee (2/5): - This property is cheap to stay. It’s also the definition of you get what you pay for. The rooms were disgusting. Dirt all over the floors. I did not shower because that also was not clean. The sink had dirt in it and smelled awful. We we woke up it was full of disgusting water that we did not put in it. There was a fridge that also was not cleaned and a coffee pot that was gross. Honestly the place should be reported for how disgusting it was. There was terrible antenna cable. No WiFi available. The neighbors were all unsavory and loud. It kept myself and kids up until 2 am. Tried to contact the staff and they left us unanswered and did not help. It was so lovely to hear them vomiting off the upper balcony right outside our window. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and it should honestly be shut down!
- Renee (6/5): - This was a last minute booking. My daughter and 2 granddaughters were with me. We had been most of the day at Wild Adventures and were dog tired. The original room I had booked turned out to be across the Florida state line. When we got to that place, they did not have the right type of roo
Reserved for us, so we left and went back to Valdosta. It was almost midnight before we actually found a place to stay that wasn’t in a horrible area and wasn’t going to cost me an arm and a leg.
- ADOLPH (2/5): - No microwave coffee pot did not work
- Danielle (8/5): Great for a night - Motel was decent for the price. It is an older motel so the age showed in the bathroom. Everything was clean and no sign of bugs, which is always good when finding a place to stay in a new area. Staff was friendly and helpful when we noticed we had no tv remote. It was convenient to the interstate with a truckstop across the street for anything we may have needed.
- Tim (4/5): - Check in was good, the property around the hotel was messy. The bedding and towels were clean. The big but is there was dried urine on the toilet seat, cup of something in the refrigerator and miscellaneous stuff behind the nightstands and bed. When telling the person at checkout not much was said other than sorry.
- Ann (2/5): - Bugs all over floor
- Oscar (8/5): - Comfortable and the service was excellent
- Dawn (2/5): - We went to the hotel we were supposed to stay in and they said there was a water break and we had to go stay at their sister property across the highway, which is an old days in which is completely unlivable… The sheets were clean, but otherwise, the floor was dirty. There were holes in the walls, and there was drywalling underway. There was no trashcan, and the towels were really skimpy so overall a pretty bad experience.
- Bob (10/5): - Easy acces parking
- Lynelle (2/5): - This hotel was down a dirt road. It was dark and looked like a mess from the outside. There was a dim light where I assume the check in was, but I had my two kids and I was afraid to get out of the car because it looked so sketchy. We turned around and left and just lost our money.
- Eric (2/5): I was robbed - The office was closed. There were no rooms available. There were many people that book rooms online that were all standing around in the parking lot that got out of their money.
- John (2/5): - No staff ptesent. Seversl ower lines dnow . Did not stay extremele dirty unsafe. Vagrants sitting squating on prperty
- Linda (2/5): - Made reservation through Expedia. Got to hotel all was dark and no lights on at all. Went across the street and was told the roof had been blown off. I better not be charged for this.
- Anthony (10/5): - Very affordable and was nice for the price!
- Crystal (6/5): - No trash can in the room and tv didn’t work. For the price of the room though it was decent because it was quiet & no bugs which I was concerned about
- Darien (8/5): - It’s a little old but reasonable price for the area
- Linda (8/5): - The staff was friendly & helpful. There was a huge wet spot in the carpet between the sofa & bed.
The time before when we stayed there, none of the appliances were working and all the times we have stayed the satellite system was not working correctly so we got no local television reception. Only about 4 fuzzy channels on the upper side if the remote & no HBO either.
TV we could live without. But we needed the fridge & microwave. We also asked for a room with 2 beds during our last stay, but were given a room with a king size bed and soggy carpet. But working appliances.
- Joan W (6/5): - I think the sheets and counters were clean despite being old.
The flies and cockroach were a minus.
- Mike (2/5): - Overall terrible place.
Bugs everywhere. Dirty. Someone stole property during the day. Absolutely terrible
- angle (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay my room was clean and comfortable everyone was very sweet and helpful will be back
- Fabiano (2/5): - Remove this facility from your list. My high recommendation is give my money back.
- Juan (10/5): - I t was a quite place, there was Pilot Gas Station across the street. The A/C was very Cold, the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was fine, no WiFi that I know off. The towels weren’t that great. The TV had a lot of channels and worked great.
- Janell (8/5): - It is was around store's
- Barbara (6/5): - Great price, but needs a face lift. Staff was great.
- Norman (4/5): - Bed clean, no trash can in room, no shampoo bottle. Credit card reader didnt work. When they write down your info, worried about charges.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Utterly disgusting - Place was disgusting. The tv had 4 channels and they were fuzzy. The refrigerator didn’t work. No Wi-Fi. No microwave. The outside looks rundown. They tried to charge me twice for staying here and I should never had been charged at all with the condition of this place. The photos listed is false advertisement. Do Not stay here.
- Giuseppe (2/5): - I want a full refund - How can experian support this place. Dirty the person at the desk had dirty grimmy clothes on and said he would not stay there either - dirty floors - bathroom never cleaned had food on the floor and black things - mold everywhere my son got such a bad headache staying there we had to leave very early just to buy tylenol - towels were dirty I had to go to desk to get clean towels (4) just to put 2 on the floor so I could take a shower with a curtain was full of mold - I was so tired when I checked in, I was sooo tired but afraid to drive so I had no choice but to stay
- Laura (2/5): - DO NOT GO HERE. It is very run down and very dirty. We could not stay. I don’t mean messy, I mean stains, plaster falling, molding bathroom. Absolutely not. Shame on Expidia for still having this place in their list.
- David (2/5): - I saw it was not at all as advertised on your website so I didn’t even check in
- Jason (2/5): - To be completely honest i wish that i had not stay here the front desk employee was rude and disrespectful. The room smelled like mold and mildew and the carpet was soaked. The ceiling was falling apart. The room was infested with bugs.
- Tomas (2/5): - The check in was horrible, old guy at the front desk clearly drunk, barely could understand. Place is was of the dirtiest and smelling places. Bathroom is 120 years old.
- Julio (2/5): - FYI, we we're moved to the Budget Inn due to computer problems; which we appreciated.
However, there wasn't even one garbage can in the room. The soap could just barely foam. The door to the room looked like a soft wind could open it. I doubt the A/C worked, but fortunately the night was cool.
- Robert (2/5): - Nasty place
- Rivera (2/5): - Horrible
- Daileny (2/5): - Horrible
- Melissa (10/5): - Has a wonderful time. Staff was just wonderful. Rooms were clean and homey feeling. Would definitely stay again.
- Charlene (2/5): - This property was a diaster. Broken doors, ceiling with ill repairs, bugs crawling on the floors, shower head was shorter than 6 foot (it was up to my chest). I voiced a complaint through Expedia and NOTHING was done about it. AVOID THIS PROPERTY AT ALL COSTS - DIRTY AND WASTE OF MONEY.
- Alexis (4/5): - The room had a smell and it was a non smoking room, the tub was clogged so the water wouldn’t go down. Me and my children had to take quick showers. The cleanness isn’t great. One of my children seen a bug in the room.
- Cecilia (10/5): - Everything is always great when I come here! Family friendly
- Rhonda (2/5): - The room had busted walls. Microwave was burnt and nasty. The fridge didn't work and smelled awful.
- Naomi (2/5): - The fridge didn’t work and had bugs and mold I have pics if interested! Bugs all over the bathroom! I have over 10 pictures of nasty mess!!!
No tv because it didn’t have a remote and the lady at the front desk was very rude!!!
- Carmela (4/5): - In great need of renovations
- George (2/5): - The property was extremely unsafe. The room had unpainted patched homes in the wall, electrical receptacle plates broken, no smoke detector, and a drug needle on the floornin the bathroom. On top of that the lady at the front desk had the audavity to tellnme I complained too much. How many of you ever found a drig needle on yhe floornin your hotelnroom where you want oeace of mind and rest for a night. This hotel is a liability for Expedia.
The rates were conparable to other hotels in rural northern Florida areas.
- Cecilia (10/5): - They treat you like family here. It’s always my go to place when I have to travel to this area. Thanks as always everyone
- Alvina (2/5): - This was by far the worse thing i have ever experienced in real life or even on television there was bugs and food bowls left behind the ottoman. The refrigerator was so dirty that it wouldnt even open. Unpatched holes in the walls and celings. The bed sheets had bugs crawling on them. Terrible experience.
- Gayle (8/5): - It was the right price and location we needed
- Valerie (2/5): - This place was DISGUSTING! FILTHY! DIRTY! DEAD BUGS! STAINED BEDDING! HOLES IN THE WALLS! MOLD IN THE SHOWER! RUDE STAFF! KEEP DRIVING!
- April (10/5): - The man and woman at the desk were awesome..ill definitely stay here again..🙂
- Stephen (2/5): - It's a classic cheap motel. Had I been with my significant other, we wouldn't have walked through the door. Room was musty and decaying. Walls were gross. Carpet was filthy and threadbare. Even for $55 a night, it was sketchy. At least the sheets were clean.
- Teresa (4/5): - Extremely dirty, stinky & felt unsafe.
- James (2/5): - Just a typical unkept old roadside motel....holes in the walls and ceiling....moldy old carpet...tiles coming off the bathroom walls....just a shame
- Verified traveler (6/5): No frills hotel is exactly right!! American Inn - American Inn- No frills hotel is exactly right
If you appreciate no internet, no cable tv, This is the place for you! They do have antenna tv, however the picture is very grainy and remote didn't work right. Bathroom is very tiny, careful sitting on the toilet you maybe sitting on the toilet paper as well. The tub has no spigot, it is a shower. Leave a light on so you don't scratch yourself on the jagged metal on the panel on the bottom that is curled up and sticking out on both sides of the bathroom door. The room was not very clean, carpet stained up. Older hotel that the years do show at least inside the king size room we had. No refrigerator or microwave or blow dryer. Room Does NOT look anything in real life like the photos on internet. We will not be staying here in the future with our travels. Price changed on internet from $59 to $65 the minute I booked it. The king size bed was comfortable, the manger was nice and helped with the remote control issues about the only positives we have to say about the American Inn- No frills hotel is exactly right
- Ivis (6/5): - Not what I expected at all. The room smelled and the TV was not working. This hotel needs a lot of upgrades including a mini refrigerator for those of us that travel with medication that requires it. One thing is that the staff was very friendly.
- Wade (10/5): Great people Here and nice place to Stay - The checking was good as the hospitality was exceptional and was made sure that I was well taken care of. The house keeping was as well very nice and would ask ea day if anything was needed when I would pass by. The morning of check out went smoothly and will be returning in the future. The one minor issue was the hot water while showering as it was pour. The sink hot water for some reason was much hotter unclear as to why it would be like that.
- Donna (2/5): - There was a water leak in the room, so they moved me to Budget Inn down the road. There, it was dirty, bugs, water leaks, it was horrible.
- Cesar (2/5): - The most nasty hotel ever. Should be close for insanity
- Ronald (8/5): - Bed were comfortable along with pillows. AC was ice cold.
- Caroline (2/5): - Customer was very unprofessional. People at desk was rude. Room had blood stains on the floor, had an awful smell, etc.
- Jennifer (2/5): - Only nice thing i can say is its right off interstate and store is across the street
- Cynthia (4/5): - Just not worth the price the best thing about the room was the ac
- Adriana (8/5): - Very decent room to expend a night. The lady working at the front desk was very nice.
Room was clean. Comfortable bed,
- Heather (2/5): - It was so run down and dirty; clumps of hair and soap scum in the shower; toilet was dirty/brown-looked like it hadn't been flushed; half empty shampoo container on the counter; smoke detector missing; drawer missing from dresser; water stains/patching on ceiling; We slept for a few hours, got up and left - didn't use the bathroom, sink, or anything b/c it was so filthy.
- Sydney (10/5): Would stay again - Great one night stay for what I needed
- Ann (8/5): - N/a
- Sheila (4/5): - The bed was comfortable but the room in general smelled funny,( and not in a good way), and it seemed like it was held together with glue and duct tape. The water was yellowish and we booked with a king size bed and got 2 twin. I was not happy at all.
- Darwing (2/5): - the rooms were very dirty and very bad service by the gentleman who attends in the nights I would not stay again and I would not recommend it to anyone, I stayed in the room just because it is not another place to spend the night, I understand that it is I I'm a small city and they don't have big occupancy but no reason why the rooms and the hotel in general should be in such bad condition.
- Rajesh (6/5): No frills motel for overnight stay - My review is based on the price paid for my stay. If you are looking for 3 or 4 star quality for $55/night, you will have to reset expectations to reality. The campsites at Stephen Foster State Park (Okefenokee) were fully booked and so this was the closest place we could find. For an inexpensive, mostly clean place to sleep overnight, this fit our bill. It is located in a safe and convenient location right off I-75 and across a Subway and gas station. Owner is a friendly guy. There was cable, WiFi, and the room heater worked fine though a little noisy. Bed was comfortable. Didn't use the mini fridge or microwave but they looked in working condition. As for the not-so-good, there was no soap or shampoo in the room, just body lotion. We had our own and so no biggie. I am sure they would have provided if I asked. The bathroom was in need of cosmetic and plumbing repair. Ceiling and walls needed touch up and paint, toilet needed a new flush kit, vent was slow to start and the tub was draining slow. We had hot water and clean towels though! Bottom line, for the price it was ok for us. Definitely more comfortable than a tent in winter - LOL! If you like to be pampered with some luxuries and a more modern feel - this place is not for you.
- Ernestine (6/5): - If you are looking for an inexpensive room with decent beds and hot water, this is the place for you. Slept comfortably.
- Hill (2/5): Chitty place!!! - The place was absolutely horrible. The manager told me that the county had made them remove the stoppers in the tubs because of the potential for overflow due to patrons leaving the water on… I told her not to make up stories and that I would respect her more if she just told me that they did it so they could save money by keeping people from taking baths. The room smelled like a wet nasty dog and she told me that she would call the owner. She called the owner and told him and he said yeah it smells like a dog, that was the dog room!…
I woke up in the morning to roaches trying to get to my Krystal burgers.
- Zack (2/5): - It was like staying in an unfinished renovation from twenty years ago... holes in the wall big enough for a opossum to crawl through.. stains on everything, toilet run all night. Stunk!! felt like spending the night in a crime scene. DO NOT RECCOMEND!!!
- David (10/5): - Very accommodating, Great value
- Michael (4/5): - I was sent to another motel by the owner, a much cheaper motel, i didn't want to stay at the other motel or i would have booked there
- Cathy (2/5): Hot Shower NOT Available - There was NO hot water. The bed was comfortable, no refrigerator, there was a coffee pot, but no coffee for it. I will not stay here again. The front desk person put me on the backside of the building, but the owner came out and had me wait while he moved me to the front of the building so I wasn't isolated. I did appreciate that, but the NO HOT WATER thing overrode that nice gesture.
