Guest Reviews
- Telina (10/5): Beautiful boutique hotel - highly recommended - Beautiful boutique hotel, bed was really comfortable, room tastefully decorated with a great sea view.
Lounge area was a great space, as was the dining room.
Breakfast was delicious, couldn’t fault anything - cooked to perfection.
Staff inc owner couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming, but not intrusive. Genuinely had a great stay, nothing negative
- Amelie (10/5): A perfect stay - We loved every aspect of our stay, from the perfect location and excellent facilities, to the beautiful building and comfortable rooms. The breakfast was fantastic, and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Overall, it was a great stay.
- Alastair (6/5): - No parking available so spent £50 on parking - should be warned firsts. Room was up 6 flights of stairs - no lift. No hot water on the second morning and toilet seat was broken on arrival - both sorted out once we informed the reception. Not up 6 flights of stairs.
- Fiona (10/5): Gorgeous boutique hotel with lovely staff - Spotlessly clean, lovely spacious bedroom that has been beautifully decorated with gorgeous views over the Marina , breakfast had a good variety of choice and was very tasty, Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful , location perfect for beach, restaurants etc At the very top of the stairs the wall is almost leaning into the stairs which we really had to be careful not to hit head etc, also bath towels were a bit thread bare
- Bhekinkosi (8/5): -
- Bobbi-Lee (10/5): - I had such a wonderful stay, the staff were excellent, the food was so tasty and the wine selection was great! They were so accomodating to me and my precious dog we just had the most amazing time i've already started planning my next visit!
- pippa (10/5): Fabulous night away - Original features were lovely Nothing
- Janet (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful the new lady at breakfast was lovely and much more professional and caring. We had a lovely stay Nothing Everything was lovely
- Laura (10/5): - The hotel really kindly upgraded our room which was such a treat to have a sea view and so special. Really friendly welcome. Lovely historic building which has been sympathetically renovated. Really comfy bed. Great breakfast.
- STUART (10/5): -
- Mary (10/5): - The views from King View over the harbour were spectacular. The room was lovey, bed very comfortable, breakfast very nice. Mostly friendly staff. Right on the harbour and sea so very close to the desired location.
- Madeleine (8/5): Great room and location, had a very comfortable stay and nice views from the room. Staff were really lovely. - Great room and location, had a very comfortable stay and nice views from the room. Very clean too. The only thing was it was a little understaffed. It was quiet but one person doing bar / food orders / check ins and check outs isn’t very fair on staff. But they were very lovely about it and we weren’t in a rush.

- Annie (7/5): Comfortable for 1 night with enjoyable views at winter mid week discounted rate but not worth paying more than £87 & - Location, views & authentic decor the best in town! Lovely staff. No hotter than luke warm water for shower/washing. Mould around shower tiles & tray not cleaned away. Toilet flush button was broken (loose) & centre small square flush button got stuck so water constantly flowed causing water noise - needs fixing. Blood stain on pillow case, eww! HouseKeeping needs better Management. No USB ports or USB adapter plugs (given age of building) provided which in this day & age is a necessity & this is a 4*?? No wardrobe but coat hangers hooked on a high basket shelf (I think meant for light luggage). Bar prices extortionate - double what you pay in London!
- JANICE (10/5): The perfect place to stay in Ramsgate. - Location is right on the seaside looking out over the harbour. A beautiful view to wake up to each morning. The property is very old and very beautiful lovingly furnished by its owners. We had breakfast each morning which was delicious. Staff are amazing! Very friendly and looked after us well. Nothing, We had the perfect stay.
- Debbie (7/5): Great stay but needs a couple of adjustments - Location The room was definitely value for money. I am mindful of the propertys age and location. However the room was was very cold, with a significant draft coming through the door. There were no additional blankets so we used our coats. And had to use towels to block the draft. I think if these small things could be addressed it would be a top score for everything.
- Francine (10/5): - From the start and to the end of our overnight stay the staff were excellent and very accommodating.
The food in the restaurant at the hotel was superb and highly recommend.
Very clean hotel and definitely would go and stay again.
It was 10 out of 10. The only downside there was no lift and were three flights of stairs.
- Rebecca (9/5): -
- Daniel (8/5): -
- Brown (6/5): Lovely location and views but no breakfast included and needs some tlc - Beautiful sea views and on the beach front. Not the selection of tea coffee only 2 and didn’t have a fridge for consumables. For the price before reduction would have liked a little few extras. One tiny pack of 2 biscuits to share.
The view from the bed was amazing but found out in the morning that the window was very dirty and had not been cleaned for some time so without having the window completely open the view was not great through a dirty window.
- Eyvonne (8/5): -
- Jack (7/5): - Beautiful views
- Anka (10/5): - Excellent Coffee could be better!
- Bernie (3/5): Very disappointed - The bed was very comfy Pretty scruffy and uncared for. Paintwork scuffed and dirty …the desk chair was filthy
Certainly not the advertised delux room I was expecting at £211.00 without breakfast
So disappointing!!!!
- LUISA (10/5): A beautiful hotel, highly recommended. - The hotel is stunning, beautiful location, beautiful building and decor and a lovely room. Staff are also friendly and welcoming. It would have been very useful to have a small fridge in the room.
- Sarah (9/5): -
- daniel (8/5): -
- Fiona-Jane (6/5): Due to accessibility I would not stay again. - Location and restaurant. For an accessible room the matress/bed was too high. A little bit noisy with traffic. Not a fully accessible room.
- Shane (9/5): -
- Eleanor (10/5): Charming -
- Joey (4/5): It was tolerable, but needs improvement. The service was poor. - The location was good The check in was very perfunctory, no information about any hotel services was provided e.g breakfast. We asked if the restaurant was open and serving food, they weren’t, but no local information was offered about where we could hope to get something to eat. The room was called a King Sea View room, but had only a double bed, my husband is a big person and we need a king size bed hence booking that room type. The bathroom door was extremely noisy (which sounds weird I appreciate - but it was impossible to open it without significant noise). After we checked out we received an email later that day requesting an extra payment, with no receipt or description. When I requested the detail they said it was for a dinner bill, I have responded to explain that was not our food, but so far no reply.
- Lucy (9/5): Beautiful hotel for a long weekend by the sea! - Great location. Waking up to beautiful sea views Room too warm but that’s personal preference
- Lorraine (8/5): Location good for overnight stay. Lovely staff and restaurant excellent - Old building with some original features. Friendly atmosphere Original room in basement was not great and felt cold. We were moved to a better room
- Dusan (10/5): -
- Amy (8/5): -
- Paul (9/5): Great and we will book again - Hotel is lovely, great staff and great location Very warm and the fan wasn’t very good, low airflow from it.
- Andy (8/5): - A fantastic location right near the beach. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was superb and a funny thing to say but the showers are amazing!! Free parking is available but limited.
- Jackie (9/5): Great place for an overnight stay in Ramsgate - Our room was very comfortable and had a great view of the sea and Ramsgate Harbour. We didn't have breakfast but enjoyed an evening meal in the restaurant and some interesting and tasty cocktails beforehand. Nothing specific springs to mind
- Kenneth (8/5): - Comfort Restaurant not up to expectation. No free parking
- Mchattie (9/5): Great place to come and stay . The staff were very attentive and the breakfast was the best I’ve had in a long time. - The character of the building the rooms and communal areas are great. The noise from the road.
We had a sea facing room so got some road noise but room was amazing.
- Steve (10/5): Amazing hotel so pleased we stayed there 10/10 - Beautiful building tastefully decorated. Very clean Staff were fantastic Nothing couldn’t fault it
- rebecca (8/5): -
- Bruce (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. - Excellent menu for breakfast & dinner, food served piping hot & well cooked delicious wine
All members of staff were exceptionally helpful and pleasant, always willing to help.
- Shay (10/5): Relaxing and Rejuvenated after staying at the beautiful hotel! - The interior is beautiful and the history is so appealing! The room was tidy and a beautiful view. The staff were amazing! Gave us lots of recommendations and the food is lovely. Couldn’t not fault the property. Next time, I would stay in another room as we were at the top of the building and would love to stay in a different room type!
- Charlotte (10/5): Overal, very nice and comfortable - Everything The breakfast. Tables were sticky unclean. We dont mind a slow service, but if you say that you can customise a breakfast order, please do so. If you can’t, that too is fine, just don’t say you can then don’t. I asked for a customised order on grounds of health reasons, so it is really important to just be up front. It’s perfectly okay if you can’t do something, just be honest about that.
- Coley (8/5): It was really pleasant and i thought the staff were really nice - great breakfast and location Size of the room and view
- Samuel (7/5): -
- Rhoda (8/5): - Great location. Lovely old building with beautifully furnished rooms.
- Inka (8/5): -
- Yuliya (8/5): -
- Penny (7/5): - Helpful staff, comfortable bed, warm room. Attention to detail rather slack. Ie no complementary toiletries which we used to have. Half filled bottles of shower gels etc. Always used to be filled up. On the catering side we found that many key ingredients were not available. Nothing too major but nothing that a quick trip to a local supermarket couldn't have resolved in minutes.
Also sadly parking is a real issue. It would helpful to be given a list of nearby parking lots and carparks when booking a room.
- Karen (8/5): Lovely, relaxing stay - Location
Staff friendly
Lovely lounge and dining área TV only 1 Chanel working
Few scruffy bits decor in bathroom - although bathroom was lovely
- Karen (9/5): -
- Sarson (8/5): Lovely hotel - Clean comfortable and friendly Top stairs were a little tight and scary
- Maurizio (8/5): -
- Stephen (9/5): Beautiful period hotel with views over the marina - Central location and friendly staff. Had dinner in restaurant which was lovely. Issue with shower but this was quickly resolved
- Raissa (10/5): -
- Debbie (4/5): Disappointing for what we paid for . - Our room was on the third floor with no lift . I have back and leg problems and struggled to get to the room .
Rang reception few times and got no answer went down and asked to change rooms but was told they were full .
When we checked out
Didn't ask us how our stay was
Also we paid for sea view which definitely was incorrect
- Darren (10/5): Happily recommend, this is an old building with lots of charm and you feel very special when inside! - Bed was super comfy, room was very warm (but windows were big so easy to open and there was a fan in the room we could use if we wanted to. Room was very grand with lots of period features, it was clean, well presented and we were very comfortable and had a great nights sleep. Nothing really, it was all good.
- Susan (8/5): -
- Danielle (8/5): -
- Anne (8/5): Relaxing seaside break - The decor throughout hotel
bathroom fittings large bath,sound proofing.
Comfy bed and bed linen room drinks.
Sea view The noise from road
The menu in restaurant could include less pricey light bite style meals.
- Madeleine (10/5): Great location, clean room, sea view -
- Franks (9/5): A lovely, welcoming and comfortable stay in a perfect location overlooking the sea - The location was perfect. Amazing to have beautiful sea views. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. We stayed with our 5 months old and we felt welcomed and had all we needed for any easy stay with a baby in tow! Nothing
- Andrew (9/5): Overnight stay - Nice historic building in a great location. Stairs are a pain as quite a hike up the floors. Main gripe is, when breakfast isn’t included, is the price for decent but basic fayre, another c20% on top seems steep.
- Kristine (6/5): Ok, but not great value for money - Location was great, bed was comfortable The room was in the basement effectively and you had to walk through a cellar full of stored chairs etc. There was a mystery wet patch on the carpet by the bed and the decor was quite scruffy, the room definitely needs repainting. It was clean enough and a good size, but it was next to some sort of staff room or office, so we could hear lots of talking in the morning.
- Bernard Anthony (8/5): - mancanza di ascensore
- Dyana (8/5): A really nice hotel for a break by the sea. - Cleanliness, location, charm, helpful staff. And the comfortable bed. And we asked for extra pillows which is helpful for sciatica, and they were readily provided. And the view of the sea was amazing! There wasn’t anything we disliked.
- Richard (7/5): Nice location - Loved the location. Bed was comfy, shower hot. Tea and coffee supplied. The flipping stairs!! Old house, to be expected etc but still a killer.
- vincent (6/5): Un peu de deception malgré le charme de l'hôtel. - Sa localisation et les espaces communs avec plein de charme. Une chambre sous les toits au 3eme étage, chaude, sans ascenseur, avec une petite fenêtre.
- Ross (10/5): -
- Andy (10/5): Highly recommended hotel everything was brilliant - Everything Nothing
- JACQUELINE (8/5): A lovely relaxing stay with the staff being very kind and helpful - the period feel of the property and the ambience No lift and no parking on site
- Kelly (9/5): - The view was great. The staff are lovely. The room was clean, and the bed was comfy. We would definitely book again. I would have liked more variety for breakfast but it's not a deal breaker.
- Catherine (8/5): -
- Charlie (9/5): -
- Nicole (8/5): -
- Scott (8/5): -
- jo (7/5): -
- June (10/5): A lovely hotel would definitely recommend, receptionist
A star so friendly and engaging a asset . - Location, building, friendly staff, cleanliness a lovely hotel. Nothing.
- Alessandra P. (9/5): -
- Stanhope (7/5): - The location, close enough to various attractions. Difficult car parking at first.
- Michelle (10/5): Fabulous stay - Just had an excellent stay stunning property, room really comfortable with lovely decor would highly recommend Nothing
- Sidor (10/5): - Our stay was genuinely great and relaxing !
The hotel is in perfect location just 5min or less from the beach walking distance
Our room was on the third floor with a see view from our bed which I must say has added an extra touch to our stay .Our room was very clean , bed was high but comfortable , and bathroom came with both a bath and shower which was a nice Suprise , — couldn’t have asked for more. What really made the experience stand out was the staff. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the staff were outstanding—friendly, and always ready to help .Every interaction was warm,
professional, exceptionally calm and very thoughtful. It’s rare to feel this well taken care of.
Highly recommended! Lift would be a bonus but it didn’t really matter in our case.
- richard (8/5): Lovely location - Position and staff No aircon in rooms
- Graham (9/5): Great hotel in great location. - Location. Reception and bar staff. View from room. Stair carpet very stained. Annoying table on landing behind fire door.
- Martin (7/5): -
- caroline (7/5): it was succesful - The lunch was delicious but the service was slow.
We are sad we are sat at the back in the corner now with the dog.
The night porter Gary was very cheery and helpful. The room was very small. We has no toilet paper replacement and no biscuits
- Jesus (9/5): -
- gary (10/5): amazing stay definitely return. - It was a beautiful hotel with amazing views our over the harbour. that i only stayed 1 night
- Dave (5/5): ok but temperature in the room and also having to hunt for staff - Our room was in at the top of the hotel in the roof area. Small room. Nothing like those on on lower levels facing the beach. Weather was v warm and night time muggy and room too warm and not comfortable for sleeping. No air con and the fan just blew warm air around.
- Amanda (8/5): - Beautiful sea view from bed. Food in the restaurant was exceptional. Very helpful front of house staff. Room was clean. Very noisy as on a main road. Struggled to sleep. Limited parking available.
- Caroline (9/5): A little gem of a hotel - A Lovely old building, stylishly decorated and very chilled and comfortable for a restful stay. In prime position over the beach and harbour.A very nice room also, smaller than expected, but perfectly adequate for short stay. Such a cosy and comfortable bed that sat quite high, could be problematic for some, but we enjoyed it as it enabled a better sea view..maybe its intentional? Teas and coffee facilities were great, a good selection of quality teas and coffee. A fan in case the room got hot but with the window opened it allowed a lovely sea breeze..We found the room to have a wonderful peaceful vibe and felt very relaxed during our stay especially as we retired for the night quite late after a night out. Great shower and gels provided though.
A lovely bar and restaurant downstairs that served great drinks and food, very very enjoyable and a great ambience. All staff were pretty much really helpful and friendly. Especially bar and restaurant staff and day and night porter. All in all we had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend and revisit! Shower/tiles needed deep clean, probably hard water area though, not dirty but maybe stained.
Lack of near parking could be problematic as car park nearby full.
Pub on lower level could disturb an otherwise great sleep.
- Aaron (8/5): -
- Celena (7/5): - Location and decor Lack of lift and no fridge in room
- R Roughley (9/5): - We took our Dog and the location is fantastic right by the beach. Great walk down, and after the main beach the dog can be off the lead. Shower was great and the breakfast was out of this world. Only slight issue was the apartment was below ground but no real issue.
- Sarah (10/5): -
- caroline (8/5): - It was a superb position and the food was good and staff pleasant. The room was lower ground floor but ok and nice bed but no wardrobe or cupboards for anything. Bathroom the same. No where to put toiletries???? The room was fine but ohno wardrobes etc short of cupboards no shelves in bathroom to put toiletries etc arrange
