It's a typical Florida overrated overpriced but very quiet rooms are very old plaster type walls and ceiling I mean I think the place was built in 1939 or something costs way too much money for what it really was the usual signature move for Florida Same as above

The people were so nice, right across the street from the beach and close to everything. There is a new pizza place connected that was great. The pool, chairs and tables, lighting and everything was perfect. Can't wait to go back!

Falta de respeto porque bastante caro que cobran para uno no poder ni hablar. La habitación sin cocina no había laundry en el establecimiento ni de pago. En fin muy decepcionada

• dbray64 (10/5): Great stay - Room was clean, modern, but bathroom was dated. Like 1950s, but was clean and functional, so I don't care about modern. Price was good. Right across the street from the beach with access walkway pretty much straight across the street. There's a restaurant/bar attached that has really good pizza with plenty of other eating and drinking options within a short walking distance. Dunkin' is two blocks away. Beach/pool towels supplied, floats and other pool amenities available. I did not have a kitchenette, by choice, and had a roomy refrigerator and microwave in the room. Only suggestion I would make is to put a coffee machine in the room and make it known what type it is in case people want to bring their own K-Cups, or other pods/coffee. Coffee is available in the office daily. Management was very easy to deal with via text. They were very quick answering inquiries. Check-in and check-out couldn't have been easier. It was DIY. I never actually interacted personally with any staff. Malibu is on my list to return to if in the area again.

• ecollier0101 (10/5): Perfect Paradise - Malibu Resort comes with an ambiance that makes you never want to leave. This retro little motel is well kept up, and the caretaker is amazing. The whole vibe is exactly what you'd want from a beach stay. I can't wait to go back and look forward to a longer stay next time.

The manager at the Malibu was awesome: kind, accommodating and responsive to our questions and needs. Bedroom/kitchenette area were adequate but the bathroom was tiny with no storage and no exhaust fan, making the room quite humid.

• Linda (8/5): Nostalgia for 1950s Floriida - This is Florida as it was before high rise condo buildings. Location is right across from a gorgeous public access beach. Behind the motel is a fenced playground. Motel pool and BBQ area were clean. Music each afternoon and evening in the next-door pizza restaurant. Room was clean, kitchen had most needed basics, coffee served at reception desk. Floaty rafts available for pool. Good breakfast place ten steps away. Also a beach store and a liquor store. Beach towels were provided in each room. When we arrived the smell of cleaning fluids in our room was very strong. It took a while to air out. In room 2 the air conditioner was hard to adjust so we simply unplugged it
• Barbara G (7/5): - We like the location. We like sitting by the pool. We like the owner and staff. The room was clean. The sheets and bedding had a wonderful aroma... very unusual for a motel. Beds were comfortable. We could not hear the outside noise. The remote for the t v was difficult to understand and work. The sink did not have a stopper. If we had known, we were on the second floor we probably would not have booked the reservation. It was our fault for not noticing that an elevator was not available. The lightning in the kitchen area was poor. There was no coffee available in the room. Seating outside the room was too low... making it difficult for elderly people like ourselves to get out of.

We didn't know about coffee and donuts at front desk until we checked out. Room had coffee pot but no complementary coffee pack. Bring your own. Other than that, love the stay.

• Ladow (7/5): Great stay mattress great.aircondioner jeot my hubby awake clicking off and on i liked the sound! - The ice maker had black in area where ice was dispersed and there need to be a different location as you had to walk through the wetness and if pulling luggage it was messy for both person and luggage. Pluses stairway right there so congested checkin was great. We did not see a staff member except one morning one we believe housekeeper was speaking to a guest . It appeared the restaurant did a ni ce business and all was quiet. Did not use pool area but just looked at area. Very nice and tropical in nature. We had stayed there years ago when the owner had a lovely couple managing. It. They were in process of redoing it. Four towels would be nice each day as sone times shower twice a day. We reused our towels something we never do. We just basically slept there as we had family at Ambassador. Question is sense no staf on 24 hrs do you have a security company that does periodic checks. Our adult children had both stayed at different time at Malibu. Also, there was a beed to fo some touching up. It’s important to keep it nice. The corners of the bathroom could definitely be cleaned much better. A slip for maintenance to do those little items before they become big items might be a goid idea. A walk through routinely would put another set of eyes on what need to be fixed. I sure much if what i stated is already in place. It’s just follow through to keeping it nice. Thats what effective leadership accomplishes 😊 Mostly the placement of icemaker and mess it made.

• happygrandma_8 (10/5): Great stay! - We stayed for 2 days while visiting family in the area. It was so much better than staying at a hotel! It was nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen area was well stocked. Our only problem was the TV in the living area stopped working and no one ever came to fix it. We did have a TV in the bedroom. We would definitely stay there again.

• Seaside26621083943 (10/5): Retro Florida Charm - I immediately felt at home at this wonderful motel. Super friendly staff, very clean, easy parking, just steps from the Gulf, and so much character. It’s in a more residential area but still lots of restaurants and amenities are in easy walking distance, without all the tourist nonsense. I only wish I could have stayed longer.

• DLJ1964 (10/5): Absolutely fabulous in EVERY way. I don't want to leave! - I spend 15 nights here awaiting the arrival of a grandbaby. My husband and I usually stay in high-end chains and checked in here just for one night with the intention of finding something 'better' once we were in the area. But when we saw the place we fell in love with the vintage architecture, the awesome heated pool, the newly renovated and spacious rooms w/kitchenette, and the manager Debbie. She has coffee and snacks available in her office at 7am (and man, I'm gonna miss that). Debbie is just so helpful and kind. This time of year, the pool area is decked out in inflatable Christmas decor. I requested a 1st-floor room, so nightly I slept with my blinds open just so I could wake to see the Santa riding a Flamingo. And the onsite restaurant has the most amazing meatball sub I've ever had; my pizza-aficionado husband swooned over the pizza. You will not regret staying here. I'm a beach person rather than a pool person HOWEVER while this hotel is very easy access to the gorgeous beach, I found that I far preferred the pool. I can't wait to come back here. It's made me rethink high-end hotels because this place is charm, happiness, cozy, convenient, and personable.

We were on the second floor above the office besides another room where they snorted cocaine and partied all nite long . Had to leave middle of the nite . Called the law they weren’t surprised . To date no refund was given .

Das Motel hat uns nachträglich das Depot belastet von 150 USD und behauptet, dass wir einen Tisch kaputt gemacht haben. Dies stimmt leider nicht. Wir haben dem Hotel geschrieben, um dies klarzustellen, leider ohne Erfolg. Sie haben nicht mehr auf unsere Aufforderung den Betrag zurückzustatten reagiert. Daher werden wir nun rechtlich vorgehen müssen..

• Juli (10/5): We were on a romantic getaway, and this was everything that we could have ever asked for! Thank you so much Malibu resor - We can’t say enough, good things about our accommodations! When we arrived, Debbie was there to greet us and upgraded us. The rooms are VERY clean and quaint! We love the fact that it was quiet and inviting. The pool was phenomenal for the age of the property. Beach access was right across the street. A lot of care and love goes into sustaining this property. It shows! They even have some wildlife that likes to visit! Nothing

• MARC (10/5): - I believe this our 4th visit to the Malibu Beach Resort. It’s a terrific vintage motel (2 stories, L shaped, with a pool in the courtyard). Rooms are clean and basic, but have all that you need for a beach vacation. We stayed in a newly renovated apartment and it was awesome. The location is perfect, across the street from the beach. And within walking distance to restaurants and bars. The service is amazing. They help with everything, and have coffee for you in the AM. Deb and her team are great! Highly recommend!
• danuta (4/5): - Motel was still damaged. The door did not lock completely. There was no one around in the office. The room was clean on the 2nd floor .
• Pettit (6/5): - Location It's old, but considering the storms and work being done it was ok I booked online and the text check-in was not friendly.
• Bonnie (8/5): It was just okay - The stay was fine, I did have issues with how I had to make the reservation. I couldn't just call the hotel and make the reservation, I had to go through Hotel.com which charges me for that. Then I was charged for however many days I stayed, plus fees, and extras. Which made the stay way more expensive than I originally thought it was going to cost. I don't think anything was explained when I was just trying to find a place to sleep. I wasn't there to hang out, just sleep. I was told I would be able to get coffee in the office every day, which was not true. It was open the first 2 days, but was not open after that at all. No one to just ask questions or help elevate any issues. Had to ask for 2 wash clothes because they kept just leaving 1 and there were 2 people in the room. I wouldn't say that I would never stay there again, but I will look for somewhere else to stay the next time I go down. If there were just more communication, I think it would relieve some stress I was feeling during my stay. The pool area was nice.
• Emmanuel (8/5): good stay! - Clean, helpful host, not quite on beach as advertised on hotels.com (and charged a resort fee) (it's across street), but good value for what we needed it for. There was also an additional service fee when we checked in that wasn't labeled on hotels.com (as all fees were meant to be included) but it wasn't much just good to know.
