Netflix

- ayaka (7/5): -
- Omardo (8/5): Good hotel close to the station - Nice staff and big sized, comfortable room. close to the station
2 hot springs
A nice terrace Difficult to communicate with the staff as they only speak Japanese
You have to walk a steep path to reach the hotel which can be tough for some people
- Annee (8/5): Beautiful property and helpful staff - Wonderful location with outstanding views, within walking distance of the train station. I wish I knew more Japanese prior to booking, as the staff seemed uncomfortable with us not knowing more of the language. (I tried!) The room was incredibly spacious and beds were obscenely comfortable. Overall, would book this property again--once I know more Japanese. My thanks to the staff who truly tried to bridge our language gap. If you're fluent in Japanese, you'll have a terrific stay!
- Misato (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff are very helpful. The place is quite and relaxing. If the changing area at rooftop could provide more privacy, it'd be better. I skipped the rooftop hotspring because of this reason.
- Kyoko (4/5): Disappointing - the breakfast was terrible (cold food in a plastic bag), the shared bath was was tiny (more than two people couldn't fit in changing room), and there were nail clippings in our room
- Verified traveler (6/5):
- Kwun yee (10/5):
- Francoise (10/5): Great place for a short break to the sea - A very nice place to stay , just close to the railway station. Very practical when you come for a few days
The hotel is great , the bedrooms are spacious
Nice roof top and a nice sea view because the hotel is a little uphill .
At the reception they give you nice kimonos
You can enjoy the hot springs either the public or the private one The fact that the hotel does not have lift , but it is manageable because the stairs are wild .
We stayed on the third floor but It was ok because we did not have heavy luggage with us .
No coffee left at 9 am in the machine .
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Naoki (6/5): - It was good to be able to choose a yukata.
- Holly (7/5): Nice place if you don't mind walking up hills and stairs. - Loved the rooftop onsen. Loved the view. The beds were comfortable and the shower was nice, albeit small. This is UPHILL so beware of that AND, the hotel does not have an elevator. We were on the top floor which had a lovely view but we had to carry our suitcases up five flights of stairs so that was a bit challenging. If you are traveling lightly, it's nice. Also, note that it's not in the main part of town but it is near the station. Most recommended restaurants were a good 20-25 min walk away (also, many of them turned us away because they didn't want foreigners even though I speak Japanese). We did not experience this in any other city in Japan (and I lived there for 2+ years).
- Junko (6/5): -
- Nguyễn (8/5): Very good - The onsen on the 4th floor is very nice! No parking lot, we ended up spending lots of money for the parking lot.
- Suo (2/5): Very poor - I'm gonna give an honest review about this hotel so that people can make best judgment whether to stay here. Several issues to notice:
1. Although the hotel says it's 7mins walk from the station, it's far more than that time if you are bringing your luggage from the station and climb up to the hotel. 15mins minumum and very steep route.
2. The road from hotel to Atami station on a shared lane with cars and gets VERY DARK and scary at night (it's completely dark in Atami winter after 4:30pm). There is none public transportation and taxi are hard to call, so only way to get to train station or any stores is by foot through that dark little lane.
3. If you are carrying luggage, ANY luggage, avoid this hotel. The hotel is 1 floor higher than the main road, rooms are from 2nd floor and up. You will have to carry your suitcase with MINIMUM 3 FLOORS UP. The staff won't help you by even a little bit. "No service provided" is what they typed in google translate when I ask them to lend me a hand.
4. In the photo on Booking.com you see there is outdoor onsen and a balcony. None of that matches expectation. The porch swing is taken down, the outdoor balcony is full of smokers of all time so you can imagine the horrible smells lingering. The outdoor onsen was closed for the two days during my stay so I never got to use it. and staff didn't even bother to inform during checkin (they would still charge you onsen TAX btw)
5. The cleanness is very troubling. The room carpet is so dirty and with cigarette burns. The indoor onsen has dead bugs floating on the water. I even once saw a cockroach in the corridor 😨
please for the sake of your trip, try and find a better option than this horrible hotel.
- Man Chun (8/5): -
- Rowena (10/5): - It was fun.
- Andrea (8/5): Very good - Was a very clean hotel with helpful staff. Breakfast was only one option and a proper breakfast room with options or buffet would be a great improvement. Also just having stairs and no lift was challenging with small children.
- raminder (8/5): - Nice location on the hill with views of the ocean and mountains. Nice onsen on the roof with a nice deck as well for relaxing. No elevator which was fine for us but might be an issue if you have mobility issues. Staff very friendly and accomdating.
- Shimo (10/5): I really love to stay in your hotel because it’s clean and the ambiance is cool especially at the rooftop. - It is clean and I love the hot spring and the swing (rooftop) N/A
- Don (9/5): Superb -
- Bryan (10/5): A great value family holiday! - Staff were excellent, highly responsive through the booking.com app, allowing us to order the shuttlebus from the station with ease.
The private onsen was also wonderful, for about 3000 yen we could book a private family bath for 45 minutes.
The public pools were a little smaller, but the rooftop had a really wonderful view The only complaints I had about my stay was the weather! And I don't think the staff could have done much about that.
- Marco (7/5): A tranquil Atami stay, with great view of the city. - The peaceful area and great view. The staff is very nice too. For young people is fine but if you have problems with doing stairs - please note there is no elevator.
- Derek (7/5): a decent small onsen hotel with good staff - location and reception staff room too small and noisy with trains running midnight and smelly toilet
- Chhaya (9/5): Superb -
- Pauline (7/5): Hotel facilities - The view is good. The hotel has no elevator, I have walked 6 floors with my luggage to my room. The room is small.
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Verified traveler (6/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Erik (8/5): Recommend - Nice ocean view from room and terrace, very comfy beds and reasonably priced.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Convenient and comfy onsen hotel on a hill - Cozy and well-equipped room
Outdoor onsen experience is amazing
Breakfast is tasty
Staffs are friendly and able to communicate in English
But the hotel is located on a steep hill
So better make good use of the free hotel shuttle minivan
Also the hotel has no elevator
So better not to bring bulky/heavy luggage
- Man Kei (4/5):
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- david (8/5): Beach time - I really loved the roof terrace at the hotel with the swinging seats and Onsen baths. Great views and with some welcome shade later in the afternoon.
The walk from the station to the hotel is relatively short (though a little steep in places).
Inside the hotel there is no lift and we were on the 5th floor (in the annex section). We actually quite liked the ‘challenge’ of the hill and stairs, however they would be a challenge for someone with reduced mobility.
Hotel was very clean and staff very friendly - and overall we enjoyed our stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- onkel_hs (8/5): Good stay - Charming hotell situated in the hills above Atami. The rooms are very small but they make up for it with a very big roof terrace with a great view of the city and sea. The food is good too. Can recomend to order the breakfast banquet. They also offer to rent a private onsen (Japanese hot spring bath) which was very suitable for us, due to tattoos and piercings which unable us from attending the regular onsens. NOTE: The hotel has no elevator. Wr had our room in the top floor, so we had to carry our luggage for eight flights of stairs. Try to book a room in the first floor if you travel with much luggage.
- Verified traveler (4/5):
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bad service! Bad Staff! - 1.)Poor Service with no one clean my room for two days!
2.) Duplicated charge with credit card and the app! I have to check my bank account myself! They don’t provide any compansate as they confess it is their fault!
3.) Said I am only able to pay with cash for the last night, but they asked me to paid with credit card for the first two nights (the first order on the Hotels.com App)!
4.) No integrity! No matter I did late check out for my last day, but I acknowledge to the lobby front desk before it and the male staff said i won’t have any extra charge within an hour delay. But the woman manager (Yuri) of male staff suddenly go to my room disturbing me to pack up my luggage for 10 minutes at least! Keep on repeating that I’m late for check out and ignored my explanation with an inpatient attitude. I tried to use google translate to Japanese already!
The staff consent to keep my luggage for 2hrs after checked out, but they just place my luggage at the public area in the middle of the lobby without any security measure and anybody to look after it.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Do not recommend this hotel ! Poor Service! - 1.) Poor service with room cleaning. They only help me to tidy my room on the first night but ignore at the second night. 2.) Extended my room without my confirmation as I said I will use the Hotels.com App to book another night. 3.) Duplicate Charge with my Credit Card! 4.) Poor Language and service skill set. If the staff doesn't know English, please speak out directly but not keeping on nodding head and say yes! 5.) The environment is bad, the path to the hotels at night time after sunset is too dark and silent! I would like to pay more for another better hotel, but not this one!
- Shalabh (10/5): A weekend break from the city life. - A unique place in a great location. A good break from the city life. Close to Odawara which allows the trip to kawaguchiko and Hakone Fuji area
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good location, clean rooms. Highly recommended. However, they do not seem to have an elevator, which can be inconvenient for some.
- Julia22A (10/5): Charming hotel - Charming hotel atop a small hill. If you are for climbing & love seeing cats along the way, then it’s the hotel for you. I really liked the interior design of Lectore. Light-colored wood with cheerful tones of red, orange etc. Their breakfast is one of the best I’ve eaten in Japan, esp. the homemade wasabi spread that goes along with just about anything. The layout of the room allows for 2 huge luggages to be opened up throughout our stay. Very roomy for a Japanese room.
- 367beck (8/5): Lovely hotel, be prepared for the stairs - My husband and I enjoyed a short two day stay here. The hotel is located close to the Atami station but is up a fairly steep hill so we generally caught a taxi up the hill after outings (around $700 yen per trip). Hotel does limited shuttle bus runs if you pre-arrange in check in and checkout.
Staff are brilliant - very welcoming and helpful. Rooms are fairly small but comfortable. Rooftop onsen was a real standout, as was the rooftop deck - lovely place to relax and enjoy the view out to the Bay.
- LauraJohanne (10/5): Nice hotel if your ok with stairs - Quiet small but clean and nice hotel. Atami’s hotels (specially at the weekend) are a bit more expensive (maybe because of the access to the beach). Breakfast is fine - both the served breakfast and the buffet. (First one was the best.)
But there are quiet a lot of stairs you have to take in that hotel because they do not have a lift. The roof top balcony is quiet nice.
- 393steffenl (8/5): Lovely little hotel - There is a rather steep slope to the hotel and it's a pretty hard walk. Yet The hotel does offer transfer from the station to the hotel. Nice rooms with great view (we stayed on the 4th floor). There is a nice outdoor hot pool and a great terrace where you can enjoy the evening. Sadly they close it at 10pm. There is only 2 parking spaces at the hotel, but plenty of opportunities in the city. We parked 25min walk from the hotel and that was a lot cheaper than parking at the station.
- Pacificwoman59 (10/5): Very comfortable hotel with spacious rooms and great views - TKP Lectore Atami Momoyama has been tastefully renovated. Our room was spacious, the beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed for our stay including yukatas to wear to the rooftop deck and onsen. A range of toiletries were provided along with complimentary water bottles and tea bags. The bathroom wasn't big but the size of the room more than made up for that. The hotel is a steep climb from the station but it's not far. We could have left our suitcases in lockers at the station until check in time (when we could get picked up in the shuttle bus), but we chose to walk up the hill with them and it wasn't that bad. The lady working on reception had excellent English and gave us lots of information to help us enjoy our day in Atami. When we came back in the afternoon our bags had been taken to our room (which had a great view) and all we had to do was to take our drinks and snacks up to the roof top deck, sit down and enjoy the view. The onsen isn't huge but it was fantastic to be able to look out at the view of the bay while soaking in the hot water. We walked up and down the hill again to go to dinner near the station but chose to have breakfast at the hotel the next morning before taking the shuttle bus to the station. Breakfast was a little over priced but it was tasty and plentiful. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again next time we are in Atami.
- Amanda (10/5): - this hotel is absolutely awesome. Comfortable beds, clean modern rooms, and sweet, gracious staff who were very patient with us and our language barrier. The rooftop onsen is very nice and we were the only people in it both times we soaked, morning and night. There’s also a nice patio on the roof where you can have coffee or watch the sunset. Worth noting- the walk uphill to the hotel from the station is pretty intense when it’s hot and humid out if you have a lot of luggage, but a cab can make the trip if you aren’t physically able. It’s worth the hike.
- Ilya (10/5): Loved the hotel! - I have no idea why people gave this hotel only 3 stars in their reviews. Besides not having an elevator the hotel is great. The rooms were clean, spacious, it is within a walking distance to JR Atami station and the art museum, it has a Japanese style public bath fed by a natural spring and a roof deck with the great view of Atami. I would stay at TKP Lectore Atami again without hesitation!
