• T (4/5): - Five geckos in the room, plenty of ants and mosquitoes in the room. It is because there are holes in the room. There is no toilet paper and water. There was a local restaurant near and was delicious. I am having breakfast from now, so I do not know yet other things.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Traditional experience in an Indonesian village - Very pleasant village atmosphere in Mettaloka guesthouse, delicious food, a lot of kindness. Enjoyed using a rented bike to explore the area. Would come again with great pleasure.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Very homely feel and attentive host - Great stay. Situated in the scenic country side. The Borobodur temple is a mere 10 minute bike ride away. Noni helped us organise transport to our excursions. All in all a great experience.

• Farheen (8/5): A serene getaway among the hills and paddy fields - We stayed in Mettaloka for two nights, and it was a peaceful, serene and basic getaway. The air was pure and the natural environment beautiful. It is the place for a no-frills environmentally friendly getaway.

I am with nature for those who loves to be in the country and experience the real javanese family.whatever that was not up to my expectation is offset by the most helpful staff, host and hostess. I love their homecook food , the wonderful garden right at my doorsteps.the peaceful serene enviroment..I have problem with banking and the family chip in to help me out and took me around to seek out banks for help., i am very grateful. how wonderful that is.they take care of me very very well.
• Theethanud (6/5): Good hotel - We had a very short stay. The Room is clean and comfortable. Noni is Very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a bit far from the city.
• Amber (10/5): Faultless - Absolutely loved this place! So beautiful and not far from the temple. Would suggest a tuktuk rather than walking though as even in the morning it's pretty hot. Aside from the need for air con, cannot fault this place at all. One of our favourite hotels so far on our trip!
• Desmond (10/5): Guest House close to Borobudur - Excellent experience at Mettaloka Guest House, so much so that I stayed an extra 2 nights having originally booked in for a week. Noni, who manages Mettaloka, is very kind and helpful, and happily caters for vegetarians - I very much enjoyed the Indonesian breakfasts, overlooking the garden. A 20 minute walk takes one directly to the main Borobudur monument. Longer detours take one through the countryside, along country lanes. Noni can arrange guided bicycle tours, and took another guest and myself to visit a nearby school of classical Javanese dance (delightful!).
