Guest Reviews
- Ari (10/5): - From all the places I stayed in Thailand this is by far my favorite so far!
All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, they offer a great number of activities and book everything for you! Thanks to the girls I could go on my trip to see the elephants!!!
The room was big, the bed was comfortable, in the morning we could hear the birds, the lack of air-conditioner was not a problem at all cause the room was not even hot during the night. The breakfast was nice, and the coffee was so good.
- Camilo (10/5): Quiet, warming and comfortable - breakfast was amazing. the free bicycle helped me a lot bicycles could be taking more care of

Sängen hade nog gjort sitt ..Det knakade och brakade i fjädrarna..Fick ligga helt stilla...Ingen Tv..kylskåp..Men Fick ju lämna drycker nere i deras kylskåp. Helt ok ... .Det är ju ett vandrarhem ... och då kan man faktiskt inte förvänta sig mer..Men PRISVÄRT !!!!
- Arnold (8/5): - Very friendly and kind people 😊. Clean room with air condition, possibility to rent a bike for free, good breakfast. Cold beer in the fridge 😉🍻. Trips organised by trekker camp seems to be too expensive.

- JONGYUN (10/5): Everything was just perfect. The staff members were especially super friendly and their hospitality was amazing. Will de - The best place in Chiang mai! Nothing

- Jozsef (8/5): It was worth it. - Free breakfast. Overall: good value for money (price-to-value ratio). There is no fridge in the room.
- Charis (9/5): Cosy, green, quiet home stay about 5 minute drive from old town. - We stayed at Trekkers for 3 weeks while working in Chiang Mai. Quiet guest house vibes, green and beautiful downstairs area, friendly backpackers staying but nobody around in the later evenings, which worked for us. Free tasty breakfast of toast and jam, fried egg and salad. Some people complained that it is far from old town but it’s a 4 minute bike ride… not a problem if you drive. The staff were a highlight! Always available, friendly and happy to help. For example we wanted our room cleaning during our stay as we were there for a while and they were happy to comply. Also went out of their way to find us the cheapest local bus to Laos.
One thing to improve is the WiFi never really worked for us.
- Stanton (10/5): Exceptional - Made us feel like members of a close family..we went out for a meal for my girlfriends birthday , the girls had a cake with a candle and sang happy birthday
It had Heidi in tears ,so sweet of the girls Leaving
- Olga (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, comfortable bed The website indicated one large bed, but upon arrival it turned out to be 2 separate beds
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Katerina (5/5): Passable - Good value for the money, little breakfast included They sent as a message before our arrival that they offer free bicycles for their guests so we planned we were gonna cycle everywhere. When we asked for them at the property, Ton gave us 2 completely broken rusty bikes with flat tyres and no breaks saying he has no other ones even though he had about 40 new bikes that they use for tourist activities and we suppose they're the bikes he was supposed to give us. Since then every morning while we were having breakfast, he played a video of him cycling with tourists around town trying to convince us to pay for the cycling trip with him. We stayed there 6 nights and on the 3rd day we had to ask if anyone could come to at least empty the bins and clean the floor in our room as there were ants absolutely everywhere - even in our bad. No one came, only when I asked again in front of Ton's boss the next day. He was even upset that we wanted anything from him and that we asked to get fresh towels after 4 nights. Ton seems to be running only on money or when the boss is watching so when we didn't buy any trip with him, he didn't have the need to put any effort in. Same with the fruit for breakfast that was there only those days when the boss was coming over. Also on booking it says toilet paper included but when we ran out of it and asked for another one, we were told it's one roll per stay. What a nonsense - we were staying there 6 nights and got one roll per stay? If we stayed there 6 separate nights we would get 6 toilet rolls. All these were just small things that completely ruined the experience with this otherwise good value place.
- Ikhtamir (7/5): Nice space & Nice journey - I liked the attitude of the people. Everyone is so helpful. I liked how everyone respects each other's personal space. I liked how people were free to do whatever they wanted to do there. And the words written on the wall were very inspiring. I can still see the view of Trekker House. There were trees in the yard, some even growing through the roof, and a quiet, comfortable place to sit and watch the sunlight filtering through the trees. The travelers shared their travel experiences, had breakfast together, and it was a very friendly community. It felt a little gender-neutral. For women traveling alone, safety is of utmost importance when sleeping, so you need to learn to be mindful of this. Also, when we were in a room with a lot of people, I felt like we needed to pay attention to the shower water. I liked that the vegan hostel I stayed at in Cambodia had its own shower with shampoo and body wash. You can make your own, but we were taught that sharing helps reduce plastic waste. It’s nice to think that sharing not only saves money, but it’s also a way to reduce waste. As Scouts, we need to take a lead in doing our part for the planet.
- Frazer (10/5): Excellent value for money. Would stay again. - Nice quiet location, very good friendly staff. Good some guests out on a local trip to the mountain.
- Geoffrey (9/5): Well worth the visit. - The staff and owner were super nice! He's a driving factor behind a local movement to help curtail the burning while creating opportunities to assist the farmers. I very much admire his enthusiasm !
- Marco (9/5): Superb - Confy beds, peaceful nice breakkie and helpul staff
- gracie (10/5): - The staff were very welcoming from the start, lots of activities to take part in making it a really social community. Free bikes were also offered! All of the staff were amazing, especially Tony! Would definitely recommend and would stay here again,
Thank you!
- Dario (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louise (8/5): Very good - Staff and hosts were all incredibly helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay. The beds were quite hard.
- Elia (10/5): Nice atmosphere, good breakfast, lovely staff - The owner is always helpful
- Richard (9/5): Lovely staff, great value for money, good location near the Ping River. - Staff very friendly & help me learn Thai by speaking slowly & clearly in Thai, not reverting to English when I don't hear or understand straight away is a massive bonus for me & very rare! Free bicycle use was great, free breakfast egg & salad plus coffee/ tea & toast to start the day. Good water pressure plus hot water available. No wifi in my room but that was fixed, it was still a bit slow but ok. This is a common problem in most hotels I stay at where many people are sharing wifi.
- Lucas (6/5): not the cleanest, not the comfortablest but overall good value for money. staff is very helpful and nice. - location outside of the buzzing city, nice inner area with lot if seating and power outlets, small little shared balcony in front of rooms to sit and chill.
cheap 15€ rooms had a nightstand, another type of compartment with mirror + hanging thing for cloths and stuff! good to see that bathrooms and cleanness in general, bathroom only slippers necessary because after every shower the bathroom is completely flooded because of bad floor design.
floor was smeary and dirty from the start and the bedsheets dont fit and get loose immediately- had to tie them down with cable ties… beds need some felt on the underside of its legs because they squeak every time you lay in or just move too much when in the bed.
overall you get what you pay for but room for easy improvement. get the bathrooms fixed and clean the rooms more and it would be a top vale/money!
- Dor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shanaiya (8/5): Very good -
- Nomin (8/5): Amazing staff except the owner - The staff was amazing, took good care of us. The common area was good to socialize. Breakfast was a good bonus, although some variety would be great. The location of the hostel is far from the center, which gave us the opportunity to discover more local life. The local restaurants nearby are a must. Overall good value for money. The staff was amazing except the owner/manager who should be less greedy for money.
Everyday he will try to sell you some tour packages or motorbike rental services, which can be overwhelming. The description of the place says there are free bicycles to use, but the owner was not willing to give it. I suppose he wanted us to rent a motorbike instead. So generally if you cannot ride a motorbike, prepare to walk 40 mins to the city center.
The other day we tried to fill our 500 ml water bottle, but the owner didn't let us, because according to him water is supposed to be drunk only in hostel territory. But we saw other people filling their 2 L bottles, for which he didn't say anything.
One night around 3 am one man started to shout in the common area and bang all the doors. It was terrifying experience. We are not sure if it was a staff member or intruder as no explanation was given the next day.
- Sara (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Belo (6/5): Pleasant - Nice staff Breakfast was not good
- Thomas (8/5): Great value at a nice quiet location. - Wonderful staff, very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Free bikes to explore the city!
- Sylwia (2/5): They were already overbooked - We didnt stay here, because as we arrived to check in they told us that they are overbooked 'because of booking' and that they dont have room for us. They offered us a room in different hotel 500m from there, but we were worried about the standard. Although people seem nice and they gave us free water.
- Allie (10/5): Great value with a laid back and relaxed vibe - Clean, quiet and tranquil space with plenty of tour options and booking of scooters etc. easy access to the centre of Chiang Mai and the night market. Calm and welcoming social space and great value with breakfast included Limited restaurants and activities in the immediate vicinity
- Samantha (9/5): Superb - -The staff were very friendly and attentive, especially Ton
-recommendations made for food places and activities
-free little breakfast and tea or coffee in the morning
-clean and comfortable
- Leonardo (7/5): Decent stay - The breakfast was okey, egg with vegetables and toast with butter and jam. We booked a private room with ac, but when we arrived the staff placed us in a dormitory, because our room wasn't available, without even asking (and without offering a us discount with the price of the dormitory, much cheaper than the private room). Only after we complained they gave us a private one.
- Mary (10/5): Great place cheap as chips - Good breakfast

- Hyakubun (10/5): comfortable - Nice and Friendry staff
Away from busy city area, but not too far from sightseeing spots
- Warren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Audra (10/5): Exceptional - The owner and the staff are really nice, i liked the fact that was a bit out of town, but close enough to walk it
- Vladyslav (10/5): Exceptional - I stayed there for three months and it was amazing, we became friends with everyone who works at the hostel. The breakfast are very good and cheap, the rooms were good and you can choose between ac or fan room.
There’s enough space downstairs to work, smoke, chill and do whatever you want. The location is great as well, only a few minutes drive from old town and yet it is quiet at night and you can always have good sleep.
Whenever I would have any issue the guys would help me right away.
If I need to spend some time in CNX, I’ll definitely stay there again!
Highly recommend !
- Jordan (10/5): Exactly what I needed. - The owner/caretaker was superfriendly and had excellent customer service, any request such as Ice was sorted immediately. Super accommodating to what you need, nice, quiet, low key perfect for the solo traveler or nomad who wants a cold and clean room. It's rustic like a wood cabin so don't be put off by the lack of shine buy everything was above par considering the standard and price. Thanks again. Not as new as most people might hope but that's to each person's preference.
- Carola (8/5): great value for money, nice little breakfast, friendly host who gave us bananas for free and took us to town for the Son - 👌🏻 great value for money
👌🏻 working wifi
👌🏻 nice host
👌🏻 spacious room, good water pressure 🤔 location is a bit far away from the city center
🤔 not all staff members speak English
🤔 sometimes trouble with electricity, but we could switch the room
- Adrian (9/5): Superb -
- Adrian (9/5): Superb -
- Loic (8/5): good for people looking for easy access to south east part of Chiangmai and its surrounding - Very nice staff, great if you want to be a bit away from the city center but not too far either. And of course they organise bicycle treks! Breakfast is a plus! There is a small farm near the hotel, which can make it difficult to sleep because the chickens don't wait for sunrise to sing... they start at 3am haha!
- Pavel (9/5): Pleasant atmosphere - Breakfast every day: sausage, eggs, some vegetables, jam. Tasty.
There is a common area at the reception where you can sit.
Excellent atmosphere, people greeted each other and communicated. I was bitten by mosquitoes while waiting for a wonderful girl
- Shawna-lee (10/5): Very happy and polite and caring staff. Made me feel special. - The breakfast was amazing. Eggs were cooked to perfection. The staff was really so friendly and helpful. I was having breakfast and I did not tell anyone that it was my birthday and they brought a cake and had candles and sung happy birthday. They did not mind my late check out. It was a very homey comfortable stay and I would really reccomend this place if your tired of hostels and need a chill place to stay. I don’t really have anything bad to say. The location is a bit out of town. And I had ants in my room but that doesn’t bother me!
- Mirjam (10/5): Nice friendly and good for long or short stays - It was amazing .
- Pieter (9/5): Superb - Made good friends there and the staff is really friendly
