Guest Reviews
- Atwood (10/5): -
- Trisket (7/5): Great value. Just needed to sleep and go. Perfect for that we will go again. The amenities were ok. - Very easy to get to and cost. Not very comfortable bed.
- Caitlynn (3/5): - The location was nice We had booked 2 double beds & they gave us 1 king bed & refused to give us any other options.
- Miyoba (1/5): Do not go here if you are a clean person. - Nothing Smell and uncleanliness
- Matthew (1/5): - The place is very dirty with garbage outside and I understand that it's an old place but it's very unclean
- Mauricio (3/5): -
- Darren (7/5): -
- Tristan (1/5): Should of slept in my car - ExtremeIy dirty, smelled like smoke. Wouldn't even think of taking a shower
- Raquel (8/5): -
- William (6/5): -
- Andrea (5/5): meh - that you could get there walking, and that there's gas stations around It was dirty and smelled bad. Also someone started knocking in our door at 10:30 telling us to leave when it said in the reservation that check out was at 11am not 10:30.
- Robert (1/5): THEIVES OF CANAAN - I paid for my last night on dec. 5th and was paid through the 6th. I left on the 5th didn't come back. I noticed 2 days later they charged me another night. Charged 75.00 for 5th that was already paid and 25.00 for pet it was already paid. I called to see if could put back on my card I'm sure you know that answer. THESE PEOPLE ARE COMMON THEIVES BEWARE
- Belandria (1/5): -
- Diana E (7/5): It was good for the price, but the minimal continental breakfast could offer a bit more. - The room was fine - basic, no frills, but comfortable, the heat was warm, the shower was good - good water pressure. The heat/fan didn't seem to work - the timer went on but I felt nothing. Breakfast was pathetic. Very small sweet rolls wrapped in cellophane, sliced bread for toast, coffee (no decaf) or Lipton tea.
- rebecca (6/5): - The room was cleans and comfortable Breakfast consisted of only some packaged snacks like hohos and there was no ice
- Richard (1/5): Disgusting and horrific - Nothing I did not appreciate when the manager of the hotel approached me in the parking lot in the night to ask me if we have any beer liquor in our car I was with my elderly father and who is not well and I did not appreciate the unprofessionalism and then to top it off he asked me to give him a ride to the liquor store
It was located near a truckstop. All I heard were trucks going by all night and people banging on the walls absolutely disgusting. The bed was like sleeping on a boxspring with no mattress. The whole experience was horrific. Will never go back there again. I’d rather sleep in my car
But I would be too afraid to sleep in my car because half of the hotel houses the homeless and drug addicts and prostitutes which the other half I don’t know what was on there, but they were very loud all night just terrible. I really cannot explain it I would never recommend this place to anyone. This is probably one of the worst experience I’ve had
- Wood (5/5): -
- Eudes (3/5): - Trash all over the property
- Tim (4/5): - The most poorly furnished, smelly, outdated, crappy motel room I’ve been in in 40 years. It would have been worth $40, not $160. Never again.
- Jerry Silver (8/5): - Clean comfortable. Good for the price.
- Thomas (10/5): Great place to stay, no frills, clean & quiet - Pet-friendly, nice staff, many places to visit/restaurants/stores within short drive, beautiful scenery (peak fall leaves within a week)
- John (6/5): - The motel seems to be managed and cleaned by the owners. Not the ritz, but clean and a bargain compared with other lodging in the area. The owner was very responsive.
- Debbie (2/5): - The sheets were clean, I think. They were accommodating of my dog, but the only area to walk my dog had a lot of litter and no grass. The bathroom was gross, and everything was in desperate need of paint.
- Kathy (4/5): - Not as pictured at all. No pool or continental breakfast as advertised. Room very dirty, including bedspread. Could hear guests arguing in room next-door. Could hear guests above us walking around. Could hear when every toilet flushed. Sketchy live in residents. We were not permitted to use the only deadbolt on the door. Did not feel safe in general. Too expensive for what it was.
- Mike (6/5): - out of date but not neglected.
- Gonzalo (1/5): - Nothing Dirty room from floor to ceiling.
Deadbolt didn't work.
Only came with 1 pillow each.
It's very musty and stuffy.
Pictures on the website don't match pictures in the room.
- NOELBY (5/5): - Location The smell and room decore.
- Robert (1/5): Will never stay there again. - Short drive to Tanglewood for concerts Room was dirty and had a dank smell. Couldn't open windows in first room. Moved to a second and at least could air out the room. Left the door open much of the time we were there. There was no breakfast to speak of. A couple packaged pastries.
- kess (5/5): Get what you pay for - Cracks on wall in bathroom
- Eben (6/5): - Very basic and not in great repair. But it was acceptably clean and inexpensive for this area.
- John (10/5): - The room I had must have been renovated recently, but none the less, very clean
The bathroom nerd renovation but again, was clean.
The front desk gentleman at check-in was awesome, very friendly and upbeat.
This is your basic Roadside Motel, there are eateries and fuel literally right down the road, and very convenient to I-90, right off Route 22.
I intend on using this Motel again when up there!
- Verified traveler (6/5): No pool, no breakfast, but fine place to sleep. - Pool not functional, breakfast not provided.
Though they advertise both. Even when we checked in they said, have breakfast before leaving. But then there was none.
Room was fine. Clean, everything worked, etc.
As a place to sleep and get ready, it was fine. Good location.
Just don't expect breakfast or swimming pool and you won't be disappointed.
- John (1/5): never again - we did not go for the breakfast because the whole place was dirty and very run down
- Marisa (2/5): Sicks - The guy at the front desk asked me to go to his room on the 3rd floor and I said I am not that kind of girl. The bed was filthy and the bed felt like I was on the boxspring I didn't sleep at all.
- Mitchell (10/5): - Good ac good WiFi
- Mitchell (10/5): -
- gheorghe (6/5): - Property is close to Tanglewood Musical Venues. Parking is easy. The rooms are impeccably clean and the office manger was curteous.
- lsaravinda (4/5): Fine place to sleep, don't expect the advertised perks - Positive - clean and comfortable bed and bathroom, met our needs to have a place to stay and get ready
Negative - no breakfast, no pool
- Anne (4/5): - On the plus side the bed was comfortable and there was free WiFi. On the negative side, The promised breakfast turned out to be coffee with and a few tiny pastries. There was only powdered creamer product.
- James (1/5): Never again!! - Relatively close to our destination. The room was filthy so we got our room changed. The second one was filthy. the carpet felt damp, there were flies coming out of the drain, the bathroom fan was completely clogged with black debris. The front door had gaps, the walls had holes and black dirt (mold?). The A/C unit was almost falling off the wall. We were stuck because there were no other places to go. What a horrible experience
- Wiechert (1/5): - Management was empathetic and understanding. Extremely strong cleaning materials odor.
- Gail (8/5): - Beautiful scenery. Room was not fancy but comfortable and clean.
- Sharice (4/5): Would not suggest - misleading listing - I never write reviews and I try to be understanding but I have to write for this one. Stayed for one night. Listing was inaccurate. Pool was not in use, there were no rollaway beds and the pet fee was higher then stated. The hotel was poorly “clean” but not clean in the context of the shower and bathroom etc. - grime and mildew built up. Very poor bed. Smelled so bad like smoke. Very cheap hotel for a reason, but I feel for the price and the condition it was in, it should have been even cheaper. I knew the rating wasn’t super high but I definitely would not rate it as high as it is rated on hotels.com. Very disappointed in the misleading listing from hotels.com.
- Maria Eden (4/5): - I like the view but then the room carpet is dirty and fridge freezer not defrosting old ice inside. Room smells cigarette. Yard dirty w thrash outside under stairs. Fences not maintained . Needs painting.
- Louise (6/5): - Poorly maintained, stains on walls, dirty faucet, 2 wire hangers. Worn Wooden uneven stairs. Price was low so we didn’t expect much, but this was disappointing and dangerous
- Ira (2/5): poor experience because of the unpleasant noise of the smoke alarm and sleep disruption. - Great location. there were several problems. At 3:30 in the morning, the smoke alarm started to make a load unpleasant noise. My wife and I could not get back to sleep. At early breakfast I informed the staff about the problem and we requested a partial refund. We have not heard from this hotel. The breakfast was the most inadequate of any hotel we have stayed in and the television did not work.
Overall a very unpleasant experience.
- ELAINE (2/5): - NO WATER! My husband and I checked in at the Berkshire Travel Lodge on July 5, 2025 at around 7:00 PM. It’s an old roadside motel, more run down than the pictures on Travelocity, we only got 4 channels of cable TV, no ice available on site but good enough for our 1 night stay. When we woke up on July 6, we had NO WATER. We were unable to take showers, brush our teeth, or use the toilet. There was no one in the office, so I called the phone number posted and spoke with the manager who said he’d be off site all day but he’d make some calls and call me back. That was the last I heard from him; I’ve not gotten any reply via email, no one answers the phone, and there’s no way to leave a message to request a refund since our room did not meet minimum standards due to the lack of water.
- Maurice (10/5): - Live it
- Fredreanna (1/5): Bad -
- John (1/5): Bad -
- Josephine (1/5): awful - There was no breakfast. . . There was NO WATER FROM ANY FAUCET IN THE MORNING !!!!!!!
NO WATER TO WASH HANDS < NO WATER TO BRUSH TEETH >>>>>>NO RUNNING WATER how very unacceptable this experience was shabby room but even that was not as horrifying as to wake up to no running water !
- Amanda M (2/5): - If you are smart you will not stay here the pictures are outdated the rooms are nasty and have holes in the walls you have four TV stations and apparently they shut your water off sometime before 10:00 a.m. even though check out is at 11:00 I've never heard of such a thing you go to flush the toilet and oh no water no water out of the sink nothing run the other way
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Listing shows a very nice pool. Pool was covered and area was overgrown with grass and weeds. No pool.
Building is very old. Unit had peeling paint, very small tv, old fixtures in bathroom.
Needs much updating.
- matthew (6/5): Know What You’re Getting - Good location for Tanglewood. Easy to check in
The bed and toilet were good. The A/C worked. There was a microwave and a small refrigerator.
The room smelled musty. The walls were cracked and not clean. The place is badly in need of a remodel but if you just need a place to sleep…
- Jeanne (2/5): - No hot water. Limited TV, coffee was burnt tar, musty smell, hideous very dark green wall. Yikes!
- Pamela (1/5): Nasty. Stay away. I don't usually write negative reviews but feel like ai need to warn folks. - Dirty and run down. Obviously not cleaned properly in a long time. Caked on dust and dirt, dried drips on walls, hole in the wall poorly patched and left unpainted. Cracked walls. See photos. In order to get the deadlock to engage we had to jimmy to door. Horrible overpowering smell, like somebody splashed a fragrance around the room to hide something. Carpet felt damp on my feet. Almost hard to breathe at first. Smoke alarm started beeping because of dead battery at 12:45 am and no one was available at front desk to help. Had to disable ourself and hope the place did not catch fire during the night. Air conditioner worked poorly. Near highway and could hear cars well into the early morning hours. And they charged us $185.
- Jennifer (2/5): - Very misleading, photos on hotels.com must be from like 20 years ago! Property completely run down , room walls were dirty , bathroom walls full of cracks , there are a lot of lower rooms that have people that look like they live there ! Pool advertised is covered , place is a total mess. We left at 4:30 am . Room reeked of cigarette smoke . We were there to see James Taylor and knew we would never find another place last minute . Do not stay here .
- Sharif (2/5): Bedbugs - Bed bugs, mattress was terribly dirty as well. Sit on the toilet and your knees are outside the bathroom. Awful awful awful. I went in, saw bedbugs and got my money back.
- Andrew (3/5): Poor -
- Inge-lise (2/5): worst place ever - Nothing - did not have breakfast there left early everything was very old and stuffy. And clammy - paint peeling.
bedcovers very heavy and dark Furniture just a kind of thrown together.
Was difficult to find in the dark If no GPS, would not have found it.
- Krystina (1/5): Bad -
- Victoria (2/5): Not clean at all.brought in my own blankets to sleep - Very dirty
- Harrington (3/5): Not worth over $130 which we paid, false advertising, there is no pool and breakfast is a joke! I would maybe find it go - Not much The room was disgustingly dirty with no shower head when we arrived , we asked to move rooms but front desk said they were full which I doubt since there was four other cars total, he said they are always full which I completely doubt. There was no shower head which he attached reluctantly.
- Patricia (4/5): Take a pass on those one - This was the second- nastiest motel room I have ever experienced. Everything was run down. Noisy. Nasty smears on the wall in the bathroom. Bed really hard and too short.
- Takeisha (5/5): Passable - There affordably False advertisement there is no breakfast
- Craig (10/5): - Good people an comfy stay
- Nunez (1/5): Bad - Its was so nasty Everything
- A9187MJmikee (4/5): Close to Tanglewood, but not much else to commend it. - I didn't have any of the horror stories other folks write about, but the place is certainly below average. The mechanism for opening the windows was broken. The wifi failed more than it connected, even with their extender. The TV gets only 7 or 8 channels. What they provide in the morning cannot reasonably called breakfast, it's equivalent to what other places put out as 24-7 snacks and coffee. Air conditioner worked, but was noisy. Yes, it's overpriced, but you're paying for proximity to Tanglewood on a concert night.
- irene (8/5): - Great small hotel with easy parking, sp
- Cathy (10/5): - Great place for a quick stop to sleep. Simple enough.
- Renee (10/5): - Everything
- Tomasz (4/5): Disappointing -
- Shepp (3/5): Oickoy - O was able to get to sleep Almost everything but the breakfast was so bad it was laugjable
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room was in very poor condition. It reeked of cigarette smoke. I opened the windows to air it out and the windows had no screens. The paint was peeling.
- Pamela (1/5): This is surely one of Dante’s circles of hell - Access off highway is convenient. No cooperation from manager when told smoke alarm was chirping. He said to disconnect it- that is illegal. TV had no cable signal- manager did not respond to three voice messages to take care of.
Walls and doors were grimy. Phone did not work. Burn stains on blanket. Occupants in next room sat out front at 630am and talked loudly with foul language.
- Holly (1/5): I asked for a refund. - Location Conditions were deplorable. Blood on sheets. BED BUGS!!! Room wreaked of urine. 🤢
- Melissa (2/5): - I came into literally not expecting to have my door damaged felt very unsafe I was booked for 3 nights stayed two because I had no where else to go had to put a chair at night I have pictures to prove it not sure why this place is still operating.
- Vito (6/5): - Poor lighting and needs a fresh coat of paint. I expected to see a coffee maker with coffee or tea. I'll never go back again. Plus the cable system was down for 2 days.
- Sean (10/5): - Very clean bathroom & room
- MICHAEL (8/5): - A good, affordable place to sleep close to many scenic attractions.
- Karen (4/5): - The room itself was nice enough but the tv was not working and we were told satellite had just given out, and couldn’t regulate water temperature - could only get warm water. Also breakfast was a few individually wrapped small donuts and white bread for toast and ok coffee.
- Sharon (6/5): - Friendly. Basic.
- Joanne (9/5): It was decent and the price was affordable. - When I went up to my room, they had turned the heat on so it was warm on that chilly evening. I really appreciated that. The dead bolt didn't work but the door handle lock did.
- Sharon (10/5): - Staff friendly and helpful.
- Michael (2/5): - The property is old, and run down. My room was dirty ("stuff" on walls), Saw two roaches in my room. Overall run down.
- Sharon (6/5): - You get what you pay for. Convenient location. No Frills. Safe. Clean. Nice Staff.
- Emily (7/5): Good -
- Holly (2/5): - I booked to stay for a week in a specific room downstairs. They asked me, to switch rooms and go upstairs - because there was an older (person who they gave the room to). I’ve been a loyal customer to the establishment because I drive over an hour to work, having stayed several nights. I consider myself an elderly person being 59 years old and a diabetic. Having health issues. They made me feel guilty. I was very unhappy and upset about the request. I shouldn’t have been put in an awkward, uncomfortable position.
On my last nights stay; to make matters worse, I slip and fell at the bottom of the stairs. I tried to get help and was told that the management wasn’t there so I had to talk to them in the morning. The man barely spoke English and didn’t understood what I was saying. In the morning the management wasn’t even there. Another guest who witnessed everything; as I fell and hurt my wrist and twisted my back in the fall. The property is not maintained to the way it needs to be. Especially when it’s icy. Buckets of snow/ ice melt should be out and available so people can’t put it down and do not worry about slipping. The person I spoke with said that two other people had fallen as well. She was kind enough to help me. I will not be using this hotel again. Their loss of money and a loyal customer.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Acceptable but not special - This motel is very basic and the condition was okay but somewhat shabby. The building looked a little worn down. It met our needs overall but wasn’t particularly memorable. The property could benefit from a deep clean, some general maintenance handiwork and a fresh coat of paint.
- Craig (10/5): - Safe and friendly
- Rodriguez (5/5): Passable - It's been more than 30 days and they haven't returned the $75 room deposit.

- Brian (4/5): - Very dirty. Blankets didn't look like they had been washed. Water never got more than warm
- Jennifer (2/5): - There were ppl that looked very shady hanging out at all hours. At 6 am ppl were screaming back and forth outside our window to each other. Very unpleasant. Staff was nice enough but that is all. Don't waste time staying here.
- Dan (10/5): - Not the Ritz Carlton, but the manager was courteous and the room was clean and in decent shape. I'd stay there again.
- Ryan (2/5): Nooooooo........ - This property had me not even get out of my clothes. I slept in vampire position fully clothed on top of the comforter. This was the ickiest hotel, motel, campsite dumpster I have ever been. Staff was friendly though.
- Diane (2/5): - The room was a bit weathered, particularly the inside of the bathroom door, hollow pressed wood door which was curling up at the bottom from moisture, black mold in the caulk at the base of the bathtub, bent, rusting towel rod.... nowhere to hang clothes.... but the small refrigerator was in excellent shape and the freezer section worked!
- Milton (6/5): - Staff was friendly... easy to get in and out Highway...Rooms ok.. can do better job on cleaning and Mainance.....No issues......
- Nathaniel (1/5): Bad -
- Bernard (2/5): - Horrible
- Douglas (10/5): - Check in was quick and easy, room was older but really clean, next to hi-way but surprisingly quite, bath towels could have been bigger...LOL, everything was good, would stay here anytime!
