• Trail741560 (6/5): Avoid - Absolutely avoid... there is no AC and warm water... rude staff, they close off solving the problem... we could move to an other room for full price, not the difference... not refund the room price. We needed to move to an other hotel in the middle of night.

• larruemathilde (2/5): Terrible experience - avoid this hotel - We recently stayed at Mapple Tree Hotel and had a terrible experience due to a serious security and responsibility issue. On March 2, 2025, we entrusted our luggage to the hotel’s supposedly secure storage room after check-out. This area is locked and managed by the reception staff. However, when we returned to pick up our bags, they had disappeared—stolen from inside the hotel. The hotel does not have a proper system to track who leaves or picks up bags, making theft easy. Despite their staff controlling access to the luggage room, they claim they are not liable and they refused to assist in retrieving our belongings. Instead of acknowledging their failure, they told us we should have specifically asked for a separate "safe storage," which was never mentioned as an option when we left our bags. No hotel should offer a baggage storage service if they are not capable of keeping it secure. Their refusal to help after our belongings were stolen shows a complete disregard for customer security and satisfaction. If you value your belongings, do not trust this hotel with anything valuable. Better yet, avoid staying here altogether. There are many hotels that take security and customer service seriously—this is not one of them.
• 125roseanneb (2/5): beware dont think to book - beaware stay away not good space limited toilet one of the guest was obese and not even fit in the tiny toilet plus beds not comfortable pillows one thin every guest to request for pillow more need to pay 3€ charge per pillow, 5/6 days 1 tower per person !!! no cleaning if you dont request and you have to pay for clean towers or laundry, toaster. not working changed 3 times, air condition only in kitchen and need to pay 10€ per night cleaning not top as says pictures say it all, was tying to made us paying for city tax two times cash on delivery no receipts, no communication helpful be aware i don’t recommended not same apartment we rented on booking .com requested late check out we told them we have late flight yes yes but they never mention that late check out is from 10am till 1pm 25€ extra and we told them we have night flight so not even called late check out

Runkopatja oli rikki ja muhkurainen, wc-pöntön istuin oli rikki ja irti, seinän nänaulakko oli irti, kalusteiden vetimiä puuttui. Kylpyhuoneessa haisi virtsa, matto oli likainen, lakanoissa rasvatahroja.. Huone oli hankala löytää ja pimeiden käytävien valot eivät syttyneet itsestään. Sekä huoneen että käytävien ovissa oli likaisia tahroja. Ajoittain muista huoneistoista kuului meteliä. En yöpyisi uudestaan.
• Q8378HHaliciac (4/5): Totally dissapointed. - The appartment : •extractor was not working ( when you cook become foggy place ),really bad. •Only they give 1 towel per person ( we stayed 5 days ) if you want a extra towel you have to pay 3€ extra per towel.You have a was machine on the toilet but you have to buy powder ( definitely you have to spend money extra anyhow ) •Calefaction is warm during the day, during night was freezing every day ( we spoke with them about it and their answer was : its working , even they didnt came to check ) . •The bed was unconfortable and i felt painful in my back when i woke up every single day (need to change matress as soon as possible ) • The staff is not polite . •They took deposit 50 € by card and after 5 days leave the country I receive back ( better take the deposit by cash like many places ,is more fast and simple ,they have a cleaner in the floor every morning...cleaner check the room when the clients leave ,call reception to confirm and give the deposit back in hands ). •You have to leave the room at 10 ,if you want stay till 13:00 h ( 3 hours more ) you have to pay 25 € ( but if you are not before 10 at receptionto give the keys they will charge 25 € even if you are not going to be in the room ). Unfortunatelly , totally dissapointed .

• joelhI9841LD (2/5): Scam artist - Scam artists !! Stole 600 euro deposit saying the towels were dirty, don’t stay!! after we were told the rooms were fine after check out and the deposit would be back in our account within 3 days , blatant theft!!!
• ianpX459RD (2/5): Don't touch this accommodation with a barge pole - I've given this accommodation one star as giving it zero wasn't an option. I stayed with a group of nine others, spread over three rooms, for three nights. Upon arrival, we were asked to pay a refundable deposit of 50 Euro, per person, to cover any damages, which seemed reasonable and fairly standard. No one accompanied us to the rooms, which made me feel uneasy, particularly when I saw the pre-existing damage to the skirting boards in our room, however, this didn't prove to be the problem. We checked out on the Monday morning and as our flight wasn't till the evening, returned later to pick up our bags and meet the airport transfer. At check-out, we were told the deposits would be transferred back electronically in the afternoon, however, by the time we left, this still hadn't happened. A week late, in response to inquiries by the organizer, we were told the deposits wouldn't be being paid back, as someone had smoked in one of the rooms. Even if this was the case, which I emphasize, we dispute, it would have caused no extra costs for the accommodation provider and certainly not the 600 Euro that they have pocketed. In summary, only stay here if you are prepared to forfeit your deposit for some imaginary infraction.
• craigharris (6/5): Ripped off by lying staff. - Nice spacious apartments in a good location for amenities/ town centre/ River. The downside to these apartments is they take 50 euros per person deposit and then don't refund it. We took photos of rooms and left them as clean , ( if not cleaner ) than when we arrived. After a couple of weeks waiting for refund, they told the organisers we left rooms damaged. Utter rubbish They seem to be of the attitude that because its a one off visit, we wouldn't go back to complain. Although it was a stag do the rooms were left perfect. 600 euros is a lot to be stolen by this company.

We checking in and out within an hour as room was not as advised. Was told the room would be cancelled and we would get a refund now been advised that we will not get a refund very disappointed with there customer service.

• neilhZ9029OF (8/5): Nice spacious apartment - Nice apartment spacious and comfy apart from you pay for AC location is ok for public transport but the district it’s in is a bit run down there are shops bars and restaurants close by. Taxi from airport was 25 euros. It’s about a 25 minute walk from the Danube and 30 mins by public transport to the thermal baths.
• beatricev341 (2/5): RUN AWAY. The worst stay in my life - I booked an apartment with Maple Tree Budget Apartments and pay for it in December 2022. Instead of this, they gave me a service room, dirty, with spiders in the corners, dust, and without air conditioning, although I had reserved a room with air conditioning included. They asked for additional money for air conditioning without bothering to check that the room was not equipped with an air conditioner. When I brought to their attention the unpleasantness, they informed me that they did not have time to clean the room. For months????? From the way the room looked, it was clear that they had not cleaned it for at least 3 months. Regarding the air conditioning, since the room was not equipped with an air conditioner, they suggested that I either take my luggage and leave if it doesn't suit me, or book a new room at a much higher price. To all this, I would add the rudeness of the staff and of the front desk manager. Finally, I wonder if the discrimination they applied to us was based on gender or nationality. Or both.

• PinteaA (2/5): Worst experience I had, a total scam and rip-off - As soon as we entered the building you could see it is a pretty worn down place, but we hoped the apartment looked as in the pictures. As soon as we entered the apartament a strong odor hit us! when we turned on the lights it became very clear it is nothing like in the pictures. It smelled like mold and all walls were dirty and paint falling off. The floors had gaps all over the place like someone did a really bad job at laying them. the whole placed looked like a worn down student dorm, or like someone lived there for 10 years with no renovations. the fridge, yellow. bathtub yellow, microwave, yellow. the lights on the ceiling were full of dead bugs and the fridge was leaking rust. Everything was dirty! at this point already felt scammed but we arrived late and just wanted to sleep. tried to turn on the heating but nothing happened. called the reception and to our stupor we were told the heating cannot be turned on, is ‘automatic’ and it goes as high as 22 celsius. needless to say it was well below 20 in the rooms. I went down to ask for another room, they showed me another one with exact same look and problems. So we had to spend the night in their filthy, cold, rusty and moldy apartment. Made a complain the next day but no decision from the reception, they are useless, kept telling me I have to write to an email address to complain. We did write a complain the next day and their answer was that everything was according to their standard even though they admitted the heat didn’t work over the night and they had to repair it. I advise you don’t book an apartment here, it is a total rip-off and scam. Don’t be fooled by the pictures, they are not real!

The property is located in a busy part of the city and it could feel a bit sketchy at night. However, the street were the apartments are located is safe and quiet enough. • Nouraioui (10/5): Modern and central - I have spent 1 year on one of their appartement and I it was the best accommodation I hade in my 4 years living in Budapest, well equipped and air conditioning also very bright and clean. The Stuff were always responsive and welling to help if any issue , they have cleaning stuff and maintenance team who take case of all issues. In covid situation they make sure to désinfect the flats to unsure safety in the building premises. If you are willing to visit or live for long term I highly recommend them

We have been in Budapest a couple of times now, and this city is one of the best cities in the world. I really hope they improve their customer service, to be fair, it should not be difficult to do so.
• Trip436280 (2/5): Maple tree - From my experience staying at these apartments is you must avoid them. from the outset I was uncomfortable that they insisted on a cash deposit on arrival with no previous indication, furthermore refusing taking a card in favour of cash made us all uncomfortable . when it came to leaving we were not given our deposit back due to claims we had let a fire extinguishers off and noisy behaviour, these complaints weren’t even from our floor. The other observations I have were, the entrance doors were unsafe and kept jamming, the lift controls did not work correctly and there was an open hole in the switch panel, the internal fire doors in the hallways did not have door closers, there was rubbish left in the hallways, there were no visible fire extinguishers in the halls or the apartments. Our apartment had no internal locks on the bathroom or toilet doors, there was paint flacking off the bathroom ceilings,the apartment wasn’t very clean and the floors needed mopping, there wasn’t enough towels, the chairs around the table were in poor condition, there was no bed side tables, the TV was plugged into an unsafe socket with open wiring. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.

Hotel, Kisfaludy str. 18 is situated in a central area of Budapest, easy access 5 min. walk to tram, bus, metro and taxi just on the corner of Kisfaludy str. on the 32-esek Tere. However, we did not like the apartment bed-room we received for 3 night and on the 2nd day we discovered that the room was wet and dump. We realized that the plaster-work and paint was heavily peeling quite a big area of the wall, behind the computer desk due to the damp/dank. We notified the receptionists about the issue, they accepted, but replacement room was not offered. Furthermore, the room was hardly wider than the bed width, it was difficult to get in-out of the bed, we had to crawl in-out of bed. There was not bedside cabinet, would not fit in. I never come back again in Maple Tree Apartments and do not recommend to anyone.

• Edward (8/5): - This is a great place to stay at budget friendly rates. I really like that they give you a kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, and silverware. Centrally located near Corvin Negyed station and a short walk from Kalvin Square. The staff at the receptionist desk are very professional and friendly. They provide excellent customer service and will gladly call a taxi for guests. The apartment is on a small street tucked away in a corner, so there's very little traffic noise. These are full size apartments so don't expect white glove cleanliness. The only drawback- which is not the fault of the apartments- are the British stag parties, who often party outside on their balcony and will keep you awake late at night.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - Bit of a grotty street but once inside it is modern and clean and well equipped and all at a very good price usually. Not quite hotel but better than a youth hostel or Travelodge. I've stayed there twice but checked it out other times when planning. On my first trip one of the 4 nights was noisy but since then they've stopped taking hen/stag groups etc. The reception people are always very friendly and helpful.

The only minor things that I was not very happy about was the bathroom- the bathroom had a bit of stink and the bath curtain was old and disgusting. For hygienic reasons I think it needs to be replaced. Also, the bathroom rack (the glass holder underneath the mirror) needed to be fixed. It was not flat. And I would suggest the shower head to have a holder on the wall so it will be easier for showering. The flat number I stayed in was 411.

• Terence (4/5): Family holiday - To start of with it took us more the an hr to check in!! We waited at the desk for over 30mins to check in to then be told they weren't sure if the room was ready, and thenit took them over 20 mins to check. we arrived at the apartments at 345pm and we didn’t get into our place til 5pm!! The room was also not clean, there were crumbs and the floor was dusty. I don’t know what checks they did but it took too long and wasn’t up to standard. Then the kitchen had only one pot and pan, how are we suppose to cook as there were 6 of us? Also one of the ‘double’ beds was 2 battered uncomfortable old singles pushed together. We stayed 4 nights and didn’t get fresh towels the whole time. Not really serviced apartments.
• Rohany (6/5): Apartment that close to stops for city commute - The apartment is in different block therefore the reception is across the street. The rooms are comfortable and we came here at height of summer (33 degrees) so the property has an air-conditioning at additional cost and it only cools lounge room area. Which means it was really hot during our stay and all of us had to sleep in the small lounge instead of the comfortable beds to actually get some proper sleep. We stayed in a three bedroom property with two WC. It has small kitchen with fridge, hob and oven. Though we out the whole time. Inside the property is clean, however, as I mentioned earlier this apartment is in different block sharing with different property operator in the area. Therefore the corridor and lift is shared commonly and the floor is sticky filthy. Seems no one is bothered to clean the corridor that is really putting us off. The good side of this apartment is it is close to the.metro and bus stops, shopping centre called Corvin plaza. Overall I will recommend this for ease of getting around Budapest as it is close to transport system and about 30 mins from the Budapest airport and if one doesn't value customer service then this could be for you. I can't tell so much about the staff as it is always hurried and civil even giving a 500 forint tip at the reception when I requested for the remote control for the air-conditioning which I paid, tipped and unthanked for which makes me think if tips are under appreciated in this place.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Sziget 2018 - We booked our holiday about 6 days before we arrived as we decided to go to Sziget Festival in Budapest and it was quite impromptu. Maple Tree was incredible for it. Around the corner from a metro station and the best bit for us was the minute walk to the McDonald’s down the road. Taxi service to and from the festival from maple tree was fast and easy and made everything so much easier. The apartment was all we needed as we were pretty much out all day but overall it was comfortable and pleasant. Cheap and easy. Xxx
• Greg (6/5): Small - Although me and my mate knew it was a studio apartment, it did say two double beds (one in a separate bedroom) this was not the case. We had one double bed and no air conditioning. Considering it was near enough 32 degrees everyday it was sweltering in the apartment, we didn’t know the studio apartment didn’t come with air conditioning. The room was relatively clean and the shower was fantastic, pretty basic but it was fine. 4/5
• Uttara (6/5): - When we booked the amenities to the Hotel said Air-conditioning, but the bedroom was not air-conditioned, only the Hall was and they charged us 5 euros extra per night, to switch it on which was not mentioned at the time of Booking. Also they mentioned Daily cleaning which was not provided to us and on the last day we found our main door opened and ajar when we came to the apartment.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Nice and new apartments in despicable environment - The reception is not at the hotel address at No 18-20 but at No. that was difficult to find. After ringing the door repeatedly, the door still didn't open/and no one answered, even for other residents for 5 minute. Because I paid with cash (as I indicated at the online booking), I was told that the hold that was placed on my credit card was only going to be released after 2-3 weeks. That does not seems OK. The area is filthy and there are lots of dog fools on the street. The surrounding buildings are crumbling since IIWW. The room is modern, clean, spacious. (If there are cooking equipment then chopping board would be useful too. Could not find the switch to the hob-extractor fan.) It was OK as a sale offer / discounted price from Hotels.com, but it will be not satisfactory if I had to pay the full price - because of the environment.

• L (6/5): Great for an economical trip - We were 2 couples & there was plenty of room. The apartment had 3 rooms, 1 bathroom (bonus of an an additional loo) & kitchenette. It's location served us well & is in a quiet area. Pretty basic & the decoration a little shabby - but for somewhere to crash at the end of a long day sightseeing you could do worse. The staff were really helpful.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Dodgy neighbourhood but the appartment was nice - Studio was modern and we had everything we needed there. Staff was very helpful. Cleanliness could be better; the floor was dirty with lot of hair from previous gests left on it. Wifi not great. The hotel description says it is in the center, but actually it's about 50 minute walk to the Parlament and Basilica. Public transport is close enough, so not a major issue, however, the street is very dodgy and doesn't feel safe at all. Buildings look like falling apart and rubbish bins are everywhere. The hotel was good value for money, overall satisfied with our stay.

Minor issues ( not enough cutlery for 4 persons, missing shower curtain in bathroom) but not enough to spoil a pleasant state. Used as a base to sightsee so ate out each day and only had tea/coffee in the apartment fully kitchen facilities are available if required.

Little things like bed sheets on the bed not fitting, and adding a shower head holder are easy fixes that could make it a lot better without spending much on the improvements. However it was clean, quiet and safe.

Someone punched the bedroom door and there is a massive dent on the door. We stayed at one bedroom apartment and it's spacious and reasonably priced.

• J (4/5): Not recommended for a family with children. - This place is not for a family. Lots of drunk people stayed there and party in the middle of the night in their rooms. Also the hallways and elevators smelled liquor. They charge 5euro a day for the A/C remote in the rooms. And the staff were lazy with no customer service abilities. I recommend everyone to stay in hotels by Danube River
• Gary (8/5): Excellent value in a convenient location. - Very polite, friendly and helpful staff. Clean, spacious and well appointed apartment. All the basics including tea bags! Really good value for money. About 10 mins walk from central Budapest with trams just around the corner for longer distances. We stayed Sun-Weds and it was quiet. The street that the entrance is on isn't the most attractive but don't let that put you off. One minor point is that there was no air con and it was very hot so needed the windows open all the time to create some air flow. This meant any noise out doors was very noticeable (quiet city acoustics) and there was the faint smell of cigarette smoke in the air most of the time. Overall however I would definitely recommend for all the above reasons.

• Verified traveler (4/5): - rooms were unclean when arrived - walked on the wooden floor and had black feet within minutes even the basics weren't provided - no toilet paper, shower gel, very limited cutlery (1 knife, 1 fork, 1 spoon, 1 saucepan), three towels provided for a 2 week stay kettle and toaster were broken so couldn't be used. the shower couldn't reach the wall fitting, so had to hold above in hand if wanted to take a shower - very impracticable. tv didnt work for the majority of time room wasnt cleaned once during a 2 week stay

• Jorge Ernesto (8/5): You can select hotel but no the neighbors - Everything was great with the apartment (only the bed, I don't like so much soft mattress), the issue was the neighbors in the same building. I stayed during a weekend and a couple of days in weekdays and the apartments had two faces, during weekend most of the people I saw there were party goers and during weekdays everything was peaceful and calm.

• Flick (8/5): Perfect for a city break, ideally weekdays - The hotel is well-located about 10 minutes from the main city hub by foot. The room itself was incredibly clean and had more or less everything we needed for 4 days with a supermarket trip to pick up water bottles, extra toilet roll, etc. I read a review saying they had no towels but they did provide 2 (these were not replaced during the stay however). The balcony was nice for a place to step outside, however there was a lot of noise from builders and other residents; earplugs are advised. All in all I would certainly recommend for a cheap city break but would avoid weekends when other travellers, such as stag do's, make the noise levels much much higher.
• Adam (10/5): Excellent apartments, great location! - I've just arrived back from a 4 night stay at Maple Tree Apartments and it was absolutely perfect for us! The location is spot on as it has the Corvin plaza a 5 minute walk away with plenty of shops and cafés. Also the metro station is right on the doorstep of Corvin plaza and its so easy to get around Budapest on the metro. There's plenty of bars and restaurants along the main road also, I can't recommend these apartments highly enough for the price! I'm already looking at booking a return in the new year!
• Dhanraj (8/5): Value for money. - Appartment is into a narrow street and surely not a impressive location. Although the appartment from Inside is perfectly ok. Its a central area with plenty public transport. However getting taxi migjtbe a challenge.
• Richard (6/5): - Very poor identification on appt. name to be able to find the location. A lot of add-on's to the cost like towels and remote for air conditioning. We only found the property management office by asking a stranger in the street.
• Sherwin (2/5): This place? Never again - Modern apartment but unpleasant. We checked in, went across the street to the apartment, and found that it smelled of cigarette smoke. There was no air conditioning, no fan, and the windows opened to a noisy street. We went down and complained to the desk clerk (Zoltan) about the odor. He told us that all the other guests had arrived for the night and no other rooms were available -- and he refused to give us a refund. Suddenly, while we were still talking with him, another couple arrived to check in to their (still unclaimed) apartment! Surprise, surprise!!. We gave him back our keys, left, and checked into another hotel at additional expense to us. We asked this property for a refund again today (five days later), but the property refused our request. My recommendation: Spend your money elsewhere.
• Mei Sum (6/5): Looks clean but found cockroaches and ants - Commercial apartment. Looks clean but unfortunately found serveral cockroaches on the blanket and ants on the bathtub. Convenience location.

Good location, close to tram, metro and bus stops. 24 hour front desk, staff all speak good English and were very helpful with advice and directions, call you a taxi if required. Excellent value too. Recommend two restaurants close by, Stex and Matrjoska Bisztro, both few minutes walk away. McDonalds close by too if that's more your thing. If you are looking for something a bit different to do then try the Celeritas Shooting Club, about 20 minute taxi ride outside the centre but definitely worth a visit. Awesome selection of hand guns, rifles and machine guns.

On the morning of our departure, we had a couple of groups basically shouting and yelling at 5 in the morning. The guys next door were drunk and sitting outside our door one night when we returned to our room. The location is pretty decent, rooms are nice and spacious with all the amenities, but the neighborhood was OK...
