Guest Reviews
- Cindy (6/5): - No safety box, no refrigerator
- Olga (10/5): - Good location with a decent price. Clean rooms.
- Gissela (6/5): - Tiny rooms, but very close to different restaurants and nights life options
- Harry (8/5): - Good size rooms, quiet. Good staying for two days, wouldn’t stay here longer.
- Andy (10/5): - AMAZING STAFF! The men at the front desk were more than welcoming, and greeted us with kind smile. We asked the staff if it was possible to store our belongings until we left for our flight, and they kindly accepted. I highly recommend this hotel, and I will be returning once I come back to Paris!
- Johnny (10/5): - Cool hotel with cool walkable surroundings!!
- Elena (8/5): - Great location. Hotel small and old but clean.
- ruth (8/5): - A fine simple room - exactly what I needed. The complexity is outside in the city of Paris. Excellent location. Pleasant restaurants just down the street. Would book again.
- ERIC (2/5): - It’s a closet with a window, no air conditioning, a poor fan, no television, and a loud street outside with night clubs and dining options. Not a place to stay in the summer months.
- Joao Galdino Mello de (8/5): - Simple hotel with the essential (good bed, clean run, nice staff and service) but without additional facilities like TV in the room. We stayed in a shared bathroom room, but it worked well. each floor has 6 to 7 rooms and it was not an issue to share bathroom and shower with other guests.
The location is the best part being a walkable distance of tourist spots like Louvre, Hale Mall, Hotel de Ville
- James (8/5): - A place for the Olympics. Great location.
- Martha (6/5): - In Paris for the Olympics and were out all day every day. We only needed a place to sleep. Met our needs perfectly. Great location
- Kathryn (8/5): - The staff was top notch and very helpful. We came back everyday to a made bed and fresh towels. Under the beds need a good vacuuming but otherwise no complaints. No frills like we expected but the location was phenomenal.
- Lile (10/5): - Great for a solo traveler, stayed in the single room with en suite bathroom. A little noisy at night time however, the balcony doors helped quiet the space down. Slightly bare bones but all the essentials (bedding, bathroom, room in general) were clean and the staff was wonderful. Location is conveniently near major subway transportation, near city center. Would definitely stay again if I visiting Paris!
- Daibao (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and nice. We arrived with a big luggage a little bit earlier. The staff helped us. We left the luggage there and came back later for checking-in. The door closes at midnight, but the staff explained all of the instructions clearly.
This location is close to a variety of restaurants and it's quite walkable. After a long day trip, you can grab a drink in a bar nearby. It's safe.
- Tyler (8/5): - It’s actually decent, given it’s a 1 star hotel. You have to share a bathroom and shower, but they are very clean. Not bad for a short stay. Very friendly staff too.
- Kniaginia (8/5): - Very close to city centre, 15 min to the Louvre. When you enter in the room you enter in the bathroom. The shower cabin is so small that I had to wash with the doors open, otherwise I couldn't raise my hands to wash my hair. The height of the ceiling in the room will not suit you if it is higher than 180 cm, you will rest your head on the ceiling. The location is convenient, the staff is friendly.
- Margaret (8/5): - The only thing i did not like is there is no TV
- Freda Le (10/5): - This was a great little hotel in an amazing location in the heart of the 4th. Easy to walk to the Louvre, Notre Dame and the metro. Excellent restaurants are very close. Our room was large, clean and comfortable and the shower had excellent pressure.
- Anthony (6/5): - Be careful when reserving room. Ours had a shared bathroom down the hall, which was only apparent if you carefully read the fine print. Not a very nice place for the price - basic, one small step above a hostel, even for rooms with an en suite bathroom (which others in our family had).
- Mathieu (8/5): Great location ok comfort - Great location no AC. Electrical outlets are few and some don’t work ( was a challenge to plug in fan and Phone)
- craig (2/5): - The property was in very poor condition. No AC and very small.
- Runguo (2/5): - The hotel has no Bridge, not for every room as the front desk staff told me , no Tv in the room , no cattle, no bottle water , no iron ,no blow dryer . no very noisy area , one of staff is very rude, boss around ! And room is super small , regular price for double bed is 95 Euro , but in Expidia they charged 175 Euro. Highly recommend not stay in this hotel , it was a nightmare. You can’t find this hotel in anywhere in the world . Worse than Motel!
- Manuel (10/5): - Everything
- Ann (8/5): - French
nice architecture
- Alex (10/5): - The facilities were as described, and the staff were very kind and accommodating. Great place to stay in a very fun part of town
- Philippe (8/5): - it is not luxury but very clean and very affordable.
- Kim (8/5): - Great location – close to local transit stops, restaurants and shops. Our room was ready when we got there in the early afternoon and Ali even remembered getting my email with questions and answering them. We appreciated the elevator, and got a clean and comfortable room at a very reasonable rate.
- Hector (8/5): - Convenient location
Room to small and pricey
- Basharat Lareb (8/5): - The staff were lovely and the place is in a brilliant place where I can walk around almost everywhere I need to get to. There’s shops and restaurants and bars close by and easy to get to and some great tourist locations not too far out.
I only had 2 issues with the place though. One was the shared bathroom, not necessarily being shared was it an issue as it was always clean and there aren’t too many rooms on the floor, but the problem was it was tiny. There was barely enough room to walk in and out and the door opening inwards made things much more difficult. The other issue was walls being too thin. I could hear my neighbours talk and use the shower (not use the loo thankfully) and some noise from the outside seeped in making sleeping not the easiest to fall into.
But the fact that it was clean, we didn’t have a problem with the others on the floor, and we were only there for a couple days made the stay just fine. I’d definitely recommend the hotel if you’re in a similar boat.
- Jesus (2/5): - Terrible hotel, dirty beds, very old, no plugs, no tv
- samantha (4/5): - The building was in a good area. It was Old and felt like I was going to fall through the floor. Thin walls and when I filed a complaint of neighbor banging and being loud at 3:30am nothing was done. My outlet was hanging out of the wall. No air. I probably won’t go here again.
- jamila (2/5): - The staff were rude, the toilet does not have a door, just a thin curtain, I picked a bigger room paying 100 euro but they gave me a small room. Unprofessional staff, the towels were yellow and dirty I do not recommend
- John (4/5): - This is exactly what you pay for, a disheveled one star hotel in central Paris close to everything. There is no AC on a very loud street till all hours. The floors are slanted, the closest smells of mildew and overall deplorable conditions but the water pressure is good. Enjoy
- Milani (10/5): - Perfect area super great people very helpful with everything we needed definitely recommend!!
- Patricia (10/5): - I was unsure at first because there was no tv, no hair dryer and no complimentary breakfast. However, the location and helpful ess of the staff more than made up for it. The location is perfect for walking. Restaurants are all around you as is shopping. I would stay at this hotel again. Loved it!
- Johnathon (10/5): - Perfect for a solo tpurist visiting Paris for the first time. Accommodating staff and great location. Just be sure to check that you've booked en-suite / with a private shower as these are extras.
Great spot with good wifi. Cheap but reliably has everything you could need for budget travel! @explorerjohnny
- Tia (10/5): - .
- stephanie (8/5): - Great Experience
- Owen (10/5): - The people were very nice and helped when help was needed.
- Beth (10/5): - Perfect location, good price, clean and basic accommodations.
- Grietje (8/5): - The hotel provided everything we needed: a clean room with comfortable beds and a toilet plus shower. The decor was rather outdated but otherwise perfectly fine.
- Charalampos (8/5): - Toiletinside the room and not in separate room
- Erin (10/5): - This is my second stay at this hotel. It is certainly no frills but still has everything you need. Close to train stations, vintage shopping and exquisite dining options. The staff is kind and helpful. We could see Sacre Couer from our window. Can’t wait for the next visit!
- Martha (10/5): - For the location and price, this hotel was a great value. My room was very basic, but clean and comfortable. The staff was professional and helpful. The room was serviced daily. I would say, you need to bring a converter or USB plug because the room doesn’t have USB outlets. Overall, I had a good experience and would highly recommend this hotel.
- Perla (2/5): - I DO NOT RECOMMEND WORST HOTEL STAY!
- Tabita (8/5): - Very convenient location in the city. Near to a metro train station and Staff are courteous and helpful.
- Cynthia (8/5): - This is like a motel. Actual key for room. Bathroom is in room, full sized bed. only a curtain between room and bathroom
- Terri (8/5): - The room was noisy
- Alan (10/5): - This place was great,
Everything is close,Restaurant,shopping,Train.
I really have fun
- calin (10/5): - Service
- Edgar (2/5): - The gates closes at 12 and they didn't open until 7:30 am, it is an issue because most of the activities in Paris are at night and you have to worry about the time you have to go back to the hotel.
- Yun (8/5): - great location and nice staff
- Robina (8/5): - Hotel Tiquetonne is a great place to stay to soak up the atmophere of Paris, all the main attractions are within walking distance, lots of reasonably priced restaurants, cafes, boulangerie's and supermarkets nearby. The hotel is basic and offers good value for money and is very clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Only disappointment was the WIFI which is poor.
- Adrian (2/5): - Room given was not as advertised on photos. Had to argue with the hotel manager for a slightly better room, which still was not worth 250 euro per night, but slightly better
- Eduardo (10/5): - I loved everything the staff, location and safety….
- Colin (6/5): - I traveled alone and booked the most inexpensive room, so keep that in mind. All I really needed was a bed and bathroom, and I got the former. The toilet was in the hallway and was very cramped. The shower was in my room and that also was very cramped. The shower head did not hold and kept falling to eye level, forcing me to squat down to wash my hair (I'm short, so this could've been a bigger issue for tall people). Beyond that, the place was fine and in a decent area with a cafe about five seconds away. It's less than a mile north of the river and offers a good walk through a restaurant area with bars everywhere. Essentially, this place is fine for those who just need something to get by.
- George (2/5): - Disgusted with the attitude with Expedia travel team fir their poor customer support with this booking , had a transfer emergency situation in London because of rail strike , Expedia and the hotel just robbed me the money , total robbery and poor support from the Expedia travel team during this unforeseen situation .
- Ayelet (10/5): Wonderful - It was lovely. In the centre of the city yet quiet clean, a beautiful view and affordable .
- Enrique (8/5): - In the middle of everything, it was nice.
- Tamar (10/5): - It was an old property, but well maintained.
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Neighborhood is excellent , provides easy access to any sightseeing.
- Ling (10/5): - This hotel is really in a very convenient area for tourists, walkable distance or easy metro ride to all major sites. And many restaurants around the area.
- Luke (4/5): Locked after midnight - We had a nice stay however you need to know that the hotel locks after midnight and the manager did not tell us how to get in after this time! If the bar across the way (which was closing) didn’t tell us about the secret way to get in we would have had to get another hotel for the night!! Not very good customer service- definitely need to inform the customers on these details.
- Herman (10/5): Great location! - Great location! Close to everything you need. Thousands of restaurants and bars all around. Huge shopping center steps away. Amazing boulangerie across the intersection. Staff is very friendly.
- Louise (6/5): - Comfortable bed but poor decor. For the amount of money paid £188 for 2 nights, poor facilities. No tea or coffee.Fan was provided kindly on hottest day of the year and taxi was booked for us to return to airport. Central to Louvre but overall poor for money spent.
- Cyril (6/5): - Need to be refresh...
Room very old.... and bathroom too.
- Naveed (4/5): - No elevator
- Andrew (10/5): - Location is everything. Easy walking access to everything
- Gilma (8/5): Perfect location - Clean, excellent location, staff was very nice
- jane (2/5): - won't recommend
- Lucy (10/5): - A nice central location with easy walking access to everything you need.
- Jeffrey Jenkin (8/5): - Excellent location, safe, and very affordable price.
- Stuart (8/5): Good hotel as a base for exploring Paris - Very good central hotel, with easy access to Chatelet de Halles station.
Heating was a bit excessive, windows had to be opened to cool the room, however the night life outside was noisy and had to be closed again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Staff was very friendly, however we had some other concerns with the property. The elevator did not work half the time, and there were many stairs. The internet did not work in the evenings. It was very noisy. You could hear every door shut, drilling, talking, etc.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very cosy and comfortable. Even a view of the Eiffel Tower from my room, which was an unexpected treat! I was on the top floor, and I found it very quiet and warm.
It is very humble and simple, but I slept well and would happily stay there again.
- Shlomo (2/5): - It is a one star rated hotel, although My search at Expedia was for 3 plus stars and price was accordingly.
I arrived from the airport at 0030 am and the place was closed, had to wait in the street for quite a while until some angry man in his pigammas opened the door accusing me for not coming on time. Then the room was extremely poor, nothing is there, not television and no closet or drawers to put my clothes in. WiFi not working for most of the time I stayed there. I’d say that one star will be a compliment for this facility while my order was for a 3 stars hotel. The room was clean though. This place should be considered youth hostel and not hotel.
- Ruth (2/5): Do not stay here! - This was by far the dirtiest hotel I’ve stayed at. It was disgusting. I’ve stayed at budget-friendly hotels and this will be my worst. The place is old but outdated and unkept. I got a room with a shared bathroom. It was disgusting. Out of 8 floors there’s two floors with showers. They are always full. On my check out morning I waited 3 hours for the shower. Do not stay here. I never write negative reviews but this was too bad to not say anything.
- David (8/5): Basic room - Basic room but great location. No television or air conditioning. Friendly and helpful staff.
- Ronald (10/5): Lovely just the job - Very nice stay, price and great location
- Susan (10/5): - It has a great location and was clean with helpful staff. Our room was very small. I would go again but would choose one of the larger rooms.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent location!! Clean and comfortable. Their staff is very friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very helpful staff.Breakfast room nice.Good value for location.
- rhydian (6/5): Cheap, good area - Hotel was in a great area for cafes and restaurants and near the train station too. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We were up on the 7th floor. Our room was very small and outdated, overlooking the roof tops. For the price we paid, to use as a base for sightseeing it was very good.
- Doonser (8/5): - Inexpensive old fashioned truly French hotel in a bustling, fun part of Paris. Our room did not look like the one pictured in the ad. Small, with a double bed in a corner by the door, an armoire, a small sign, and two wooden chairs. When I reserved it, I understood we had a shared bathroom. What this meant was one very small toilet shared with five other rooms on our floor, and a shower on the 7th floor shared among who knows how many people. The shower was clean and at 10:00 at night had plenty of hot water. If you're used to American hotels, get over it. But it was clean, and the hostesses who checked us in and out were friendly and spoke English. We had stayed in a nice AirBnB for a week earlier in our trip, and on our return to Paris only needed a room for one night, so we too this one. I would stay there again if I only needed a room for one night. The Charmant-Halles area is quite fun.
- Verified traveler (10/5): happy days in Paris! - Great location...very friendly & helpful front office! Single room was very basic, but clean and safe and I’d stay there again, anytime. Great bars, cafes & restaurants just outside the door. Plus, it’s a great price for the Montorgueil area!
- Kiwi (8/5): - Location, location, location. A very basic hotel in the heart of Paris. Don't come expecting amenities. No phone, TV, coffee maker, but who needs them? For the price this is a good deal if all you need is somewhere to sleep. This is the second time we have stayed here and we also use 4-star hotels.
- Megan (8/5): - Me and my partner were pleasantly surprised with our stay in Paris. Our room had everything we needed. The bed was made and the towels changed daily. The wifi worked but wasnt always best. The hotel was unique with small hallways. The shared bathroom and toliet not a problem. An extra roll of toliet paper in the toliet would have been ideal. The hotel is situated right in the middle of many restaurants and many are of good quality. The location of this hotel for us, made our stay in Paris one to remember. We would definately return if we ever get the chance.
- Henry (6/5): - Although this hotel has a very convenient location, it was not so comfortable nor felt clean. They need to provide more rhan a tiny soap for their bath and at least a better fan. The good thing? It was very affordable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location was fantastic. It was very close to great bars and restaurants. The only thing is the hotel itself is rather old and the amenities could use some updates.
- JamesA (8/5): - they have good staff its a well placed hotel in paris and the prices are great
- Yuri (8/5): Read and Call before booking. - Good hotel, not fancy, old fashioned but in a great location. BE SURE to book a room that includes bathroom and shower. It can be misleading, since it is not very clear that the toilet and shower are NOT in the room
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very good for the price considering Paris market, but the wifi is very poor and made the stay less enjoyable. Staff is very friendly and helpful though
- Delfina (6/5): Basic - Very basic, and when I mean by basic is the air conditioning was a fan. definitely only a place to sleep shower and leave.
- Sean (8/5): Nice stay at Hotel Tiquetonne - Stayed at Hotel Tiquetonne during the first couple days of our France trip. The hotel is in a great location for being in the heart of the old city, close to many cafes and sights.
The hotel itself is old (surprise!) and not what we would expect of a newer hotel. Wasn't a problem for us, but I read many complaints from north Americans about small rooms and lack of amenities. Yeah, the elevator was old and small, the room seemed small, but what the hell, we were there to see Paris not sit in our room all day.
The guy that checked us in to our room was very nice, helped to tell us where all the good stuff could be found, gave us a map and showed where we were in relation to Notre Dame, the Louvre etc..
All in all, out stay at Tiquetonne was a good one. So close to cafes and restaurants that we didn't have to wander far after coming back from a day of sight seeing.
I think this hotel offers a true Parisian experience if you want to immerse yourself in a new culture and give up some of your creature comforts.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very clean, room was extremely small and no air conditioning. The heat was extremely uncomfortable for sleeping.
- John (8/5): In the middle of it all - Great location, very cozy, romantic and comfortable. I would stay there again.
- Christopher (8/5): Great location, cute place, nice people - Nice people, spoke English and were very friendly and helpful. WiFi never worked in room... room quite small, but that's typical for many small boutique kinds of hotels in Paris. Clean, nice; shower on different floor, W/C (Toilet) just outside my room, shared with others (that's fine... just toilet.) B'fast there was standard Paris brief fare - croissant, baguette, butter, jam, bit of coffee, Oj. :-)
- Paula (8/5): pretty good - Pros: comfy beds, good location, good price
Cons: lots of bars on the street so it's really loud, no AC so if it was hot you'd bake. Do not get the breakfast, it's 7 euros, it's juice and bread - that's it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent location in paris, very close to Pompidou center, metro is 3 mins away- etienne marshall station, arts et metiers is 6 mins away., lots of restaurants closeby, notre dame and st.germain de pres all within walking distance. only thing lacking is lack of AC on hot summer days.
- Patty (6/5): - This Hotel was on the perfect location, restaurants shops, just around the corner, beautiful area, just 3 blocks from the metro that takes you direct to the Airport, as well as the other trains. The room is not near the picture show, it is just a room with a double bed and a smal table ready to brake and a chair, bathroom nice and clean. The location excellent 100% walking distance to Museum of Luv and other things. The cleanest of the room & towels was excellent, and the staff very helpful. I will be back again! My trip was not to stay on a Hotel but to sight seen, thereof the room was excellent for me, I just use it to sleep 7hrs. and take a shower. for that reason I give it a 97.5% or may be a 99%.
