Guest Reviews
- Espinoza (10/5): -
- Jamie (10/5): Peaceful and surrounded by nature. - Amazingly kind staff and wonderful property, perfect to chill and read a book or explore their 40 acre natural reserve. Nothing
- Ben (9/5): A wonderful, relaxing eco lodge stay right by the river and surrounded by nature. - I loved it here. Wooden cabins next to the river in gardens filled with fruiting trees and plants with birds and animals. A small kitchenette to cook in with the bedrooms and shower upstairs with a balcony overlooking the river. Over the road there is a 35 hectare private nature reserve completely replanted some 30 years ago. Many of the trees are marked with common and Latin names and their uses. During my 2 night stay I wandered the gardens night and day and saw tamarins, night monkeys, agoutis, opossums, bamboo rats and many lizards and birds. There is a large communal hall with kitchen.
K’erenda is a great hostess, really friendly and helpful with anything you might need.
I also met her father, Viktor, who was responsible for establishing the reserve.
It’s a fabulously relaxing place to enjoy the wonders of nature and only a short taxi or moto ride from town.
A small shop/restaurant is literally a 5 min walk along the road and the centre of town just 3.5 miles away. There was nothing I didn’t like but the rustic, basic nature of the cabins may not be to everyone’s taste and some might consider that some refurbishment is necessary. It’s a small lodge not a top of the range hotel.
- Guest (10/5): Beautiful conservation reserve surrounding the accomodation - we will be back! -
- Anna (8/5): Great nature reserve! Bit older hotel - We loved the nature surrounding the hotel! (even saw little monkeys right before our cabin)
We liked cooking in the shared kitchen and then going back to our private corner on the property. you have to pay 25-30 soles for the moto from the city to the hotel. Or walk for 45minutes. Our cabin wasn’t the newest built.. so our bed was slanted.
- Elena (8/5): Quiet place within nature - Location in the Jungle, you can spot some animals if your patient, view to the river, bungalows are nice, all equipped with mosquito nets, all have privat bathrooms Just 2 small things that need to be mentioned: The showers gave almost no pressure (not even in South American standards) and the kitchen definitely needs cleaning.
- Louise (7/5): A peaceful little oasis next to the river - A peaceful little oasis next to the river on the outskirts of Puerto Maldonado, with its own 40ha private reserve.
The staff were lovely and helpful. The accommodation is pretty basic. The property is a bit understaffed and feels a bit run down and grubby.
There isn’t a restaurant onsite and eating options are pretty limited unless you bring your own food or go back into the city.
- Fagala (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (10/5): Budget access to the Rio Tambopata corridor with nature photography in adjacent reserve - Very good location with views of Rio Tambopata
Access to a 40 hectare forest reserve, which itself is the result of the incredible work of the owner - great for nature photography There are very few amenities nearby - there is a small local shop selling snacks, with an attached restaurant that offers somewhat overpriced meals, otherwise is a 20-30 soles return journey to town
- Patricia (8/5): Very good - Good quite area
- Victoria (10/5): Exceptional - This place is wonderful! It's so tranquil and relaxing but also absolutely teeming with wildlife - you can spot birds and monkeys from the comfort of your bed if you want. There are also good quality cooking facilities or the offer of fresh, home-cooked food, as well as friendly and helpful hosts and cosy, comfortable rooms.
- Marcelina (10/5): perfect place to stay and relax - I totally recommend this property. It is a perfect place where You can stay and disconnect, chill and enjoy the nature. The rooms are basic but at the same time have everything what’s needed. There is kitchen as well where You can prepare Your meals, during the weekend they offer restaurant service as well.
Garden is well maintained. You don’t need to take any additional trips, as you’re able to go by yourself deeper to the jungle which belongs to the property. As well if you’re lucky you can spot some wild animals.
The owners of the place are really nice and helpful.
I had really good time time!
- Jonathan (9/5): Superb - We really enjoyed our stay. It's a wonderful place with lots of plants and animals in the garden and at weekend there's is a nice restaurant with delicious local food. Kerenda is a really friendly host and you're supporting an important project of environmental conservation with your stay. The common kitchen could need better cleaning and equipment.
- Jonathan (9/5): Superb - Easy check-in and very friendly, cosy room and good information for the area. gladly again -
- Alicia (10/5): A perfect way to experience living in the jungle when limited for time and cannot partake in an overnight tour. - Being able to see out into the bush from the room, the woman was super helpful and friendly! highly recommend staying here. the property is a bit far from the city
